Hey! nope it's not currently on ao3 but you should just be able to go into the antarct-fic tag to find it! if that link doesn't work then any antarct-fic post should have it in the tags as well :)

spent the last few days playing w my new blending board :) it's a steep learning curve because of course, being me, I don't believe in reading up on anything or making plans I just do whatever and hope it works out

well, I'm getting there

my plan is to turn this

into a 3-ply with long colour shifts (handdyed Falkland/Chubut merino and undyed BFL)

After the first skein turned out extremely muddied I realized that no, it actually is important to weigh the fibre and get the same (or at least, about same) amount on every bobbin.

The second was better, but still not good. Because, amazingly, the individual rolags need to be about the same weight & to make sure that happens it's helpful to weigh them after pulling them off the board so you get a feeling for how to make them equal.

The third skein doesn't look bad at all! not quite what I want yet, but good enough.

It's fine though, for the project I have in mind, uniformity isn't that important and I am having a lot of fun with this

("Why don't you just chain-ply, wouldn't that be easier?" Because I don't like doing it and I don't like chain-plied yarn very much, leave me alone)
