The Best Roasted Chicken Ever
Soooo. I'm gonna post the recipe and try not to be obnoxious....this came from a newspaper many moons ago, clipped out by my parents. Since then, it's shifted....there's thing I *personally* would recommend doing differently.....so I'll include those here:
Ingredients:
-4 chicken breasts with bone/skin (truth be told, we switched this to chicken thighs and have not been disappointed)
-1 clove garlic*
-1 tsp. Minced Fresh Parsley (...you can get the packaged stuff lol)
-1/4 tsp. Crushed dried oregano
-1 tsp Dijon mustard*
-2 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice
-2 TBs Olive Oil
-Salt/Pepper
Preheat the oven to 350. Line pan with chicken (recommend foil on the pan, unless you have a drip tray type of pan). Mix together all other ingredients, stir well. Flip the chickens over (so, bottoms up!), spoon it on, smooth it around a bit. Flip them over again, spoon it on the top of the chicken, covering all sides. Use more sauce on the top than on the bottom. I don't rub the mixture in DEEPLY....just spoon 'er on and smooth it around. This will get cooked for at least one hour. In one version of the old-school instructions, you cover/tent the chicken, cook for 20 mins. Remove the tent, cook for 40 mins. (read below....i don't do this haha).
OK. SOME NOTES:
-Typically we increase the amount of sauce we make depending on the size of the chickens. Ex: we used 8 smaller chicken thighs the other night, and this recipe was then made x5. If not, you didn't get a good coat on the chicken. It's really easy to make the mixture, so if you need to throw together some more, no big deal.
-This version of the recipe gives you more of an oil-based mixture....so in truth, we prob add about 2-3 more tsp of Dijon mustard. Meaning it becomes more mustard based/thicker FOR SURE. You'll be able to see this if you make it. Juuuuust be very liberal/extra with it (the mustard), trust me, it works. It's way better in flavor.
-Same note for garlic....we usually make it so that its +mustard and + garlic. I'd love to give you a measurement....and maybe its 2 ish more tsp of garlic as well (on the last package, 1 clove = 1 tsp)
-we stopped doing the tent and stick to close the the 1 hour....though AGAIN....the other night, it was in the oven for 1.5 hours. (and being that they were thighs, no problem). The goal is to get a nice brown skin on there....crusty if possible. In the past we used to burn it....eeeever so slightly. also delicious. I've not tried this mixture with boneless/skinless.
In other words....i gave you a recipe....now go fix it HAHA.
The smell during cooking is one to be experienced. it's so SO SOSOSOSOSO good!
Hope someone tries it :)

Chocolate Chip Banana Scones
These Chocolate Chip Banana Scones have perfectly crisp, buttery edges with a fluffy, yet flaky, soft center making this the perfect scone recipe!
Make sure you make my Chocolate Chip Banana Bread too! I use a secret technique that makes it the ABSOLUTE BEST!

Chocolate Chip Banana Scones Will Be Your New Favorite Breakfast Pastry!
I hear a lot that people don’t like scones…and I kind of understand if your first scone was a bad one…because when they’re bad, well, they’re badddd. Dry and crumbly with little to no flavor. And really what’s the point?
But if you’ve ever had a good scone and are in search of a great recipe, well, today’s your lucky day! A “good scone” will be have a golden, crunchy exterior, with a light, flaky inside. It will be sweet, but not too sweet. Almost like the perfect combination of a biscuit and a muffin.
And these Chocolate Chip Banana Scones take that one step further…think a biscuit, meets chocolate chip banana bread. Unexpectedly perfect!
Looking For More Scones Recipes? Try These:

Banana Scones Are Easy!
Here’s the thing, scones are very simple to make, and honestly pretty tough to mess up if you have a good recipe. There are a few tricks to help ensure success though:
Make sure your butter is cold. The cold butter melts into the dough creating the flakiness that makes them irresistible.
Cut your butter into cubes. This helps it mix in faster without warming up the butter too much.
Bake at a high temperature so the outsides get crispy, while the inside stays soft and flaky.
Topping with turbinado sugar (Sugar In The Raw) gives you extra crunch, which is my favorite part of a scone.

How To Make Scones…
Gather your ingredients first, here’s what you will need:
butter
heavy cream
1 mashed banana
all purpose flour
baking powder
kosher salt
brown sugar
cinnamon
chocolate chips
turbinado sugar
The process:
Whisk the flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, and salt together.
Cut the butter into the mixture using a pastry cutter. You can also use a fork. Mix in your chocolate chips
Then whisk together your wet ingredients…the banana, heavy cream and add them into the flour mixture, like you would if you were making banana bread.
Lightly knead the dough on a floured work surface and then cut into wedges. Sprinkle on some crunchy coarse turbinado sugar and bake!
When they’re done drizzle them with a little icing and enjoy!
Are These Scones Fluffy?
YES! The interior of these scones are a fluffy yet flaky soft banana bread, and the outside has a buttery crunch.

Can You Add Nuts?
You absolutely can. Mix in 1/2 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts if you would like! If you would like to leave out the chocolate chips that’s fine too!
How To Store Scones…
If these happen to make it beyond 10 minutes of baking them, I give you credit for self control. To store them, place them in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
And you can absolutely freeze them as well! Just allow them to thaw out at room temperature. After they’re frozen and thawed you can place them in a 350°F oven for 3-4 minutes to reheat, and get the edges crisp again.
I would recommend if you plan on doing this to wait until you’re ready to serve to drizzle with icing! Enjoy!

Chocolate Chip Banana Scones
Description:
These easy Chocolate Chip Banana Scones are like banana bread with crispy, buttery edges and soft, flaky centers. The perfect scone!
Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup cold butter, cut into cubes
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons heavy cream, divided
1 medium banana, mashed (about 1/3 cup)
2 tablespoons turbinado sugar for garnish
Icing
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons milk
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Cut the butter into the mixture using a pastry cutter or a fork until the mixture resembles very coarse sand. Don’t worry if you have butter the size of peas throughout the mixture, this is fine. Mix in the chocolate chips.
In a medium bowl mix together 1/2 cup of the heavy cream and banana.
Make a well in the center of the dry mixture and pour the cream mixture into the well. Mix the dough together using a wooden spoon or rubber spatula. It will be slightly dry, but will hold together. Don’t over-mix.
Place the dough onto a lightly floured surface and form it into a disk about 1 1/2 – 2- inches thick. Using a knife or a pizza cutter, cut the dough into 6 wedges.
Place the wedges onto the prepared baking sheet, and brush with the remaining 2 tablespoons of heavy cream. Sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
Bake for 15- 20 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
Icing: Whisk together the butter, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and milk until smooth. Drizzle the icing onto the scones and allow it to set.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes:
Store airtight for up to 2 days.

Digital art software gets better and better each year.
The right software can help you paint faster and feel better about your artwork. Each program handles brush strokes and color blending differently, and the price tags vary from expensive to free.
Adobe Photoshop still reigns supreme as an all-round industry standard for digital artists. Yet there’s always new software coming out to compete against Adobe’s throne.
Choosing your art software is no longer about the biggest features, but rather finding an application that suits your specific needs as an artist.
Beginners who just want to practice are better off choosing a free program compared to professionals who want to learn software for an industry job. If your goal is to work for a game studio as a concept artist then you’ll probably have a different set of goals.
Painting Program For Mac Free
In this post we’ll take an in-depth look at 7 of the most popular programs for digital drawing & painting by comparing their features and seeing how they stack up.
But if you’re in a hurry here’s a quick overview to help you decide:
Professional Choice: Adobe Photoshop
Free Choice: Krita
Budget Choice: Clip Studio Paint
If you need a bit more info on these programs just keep reading.
Adobe Photoshop
Price: $9.99/mo Platforms: Mac, Windows
Adobe Photoshop is the most popular and widely used software for digital art.
It’s feature-heavy, regularly updated, and you can use it to create everything from concept thumbnails to comic book pages or even photobashed pieces.
Photoshop started as an image-editing program for photographers. Over time it slowly became a staple for many other industries, digital art included.
With this software you have a huge variety of painting tools, brushes, filters, plugins, and layer styles.
It’s an industry standard for all digital artists across the entertainment industry because it just works. If you want a career in video games, animation, feature films, or any general production studio, knowledge of Photoshop goes a long way.
The learning curve is pretty steep here. If you are a beginner you may feel overwhelmed by all the options and get lost in technical aspects of the program. But once you’ve learned the basics, your imagination is the limit!
You can do anything in whatever style you choose and edit photos to boot!
Being the most popular software for creatives artists, there’s a mass of Photoshop tutorials available online. Adobe even released a series of up-to-date free tutorials which will take you from beginner to expert level.
If you ever have a problem or question on anything, a quick Google search will get you a video answer or helpful forum post.
Concept artists like Photoshop’s custom brushes and often create their own. Detailed layer settings, regular updates, and a sleek user interface are the driving force behind Photoshop’s continued popularity.
You can rotate your canvas naturally to mimic the rotation of paper. And you can setup grids and rulers for complex scenes, or even bring in 3D objects to paint over. PSD files(Photoshop’s native file format) play well with other Adobe programs and this file type is an industry standard.

That means you can import PSDs into almost any other art software without a hitch. GIMP and Krita both accept PSD files along with many other programs.
This is why many artists combine Photoshop with other painting software. Depending on the workflow you’re going for you could do your concept and lineart in something like Clip Studio Paint, then bring it to Photoshop for coloring and final touch-ups.
Other digital art software doesn’t try to replace Photoshop but instead tries to improve on the interface for specific types of art(ex: comics, storyboards, environment paintings, etc).
Once you’ve signed up for a Creative Cloud membership you get a free, non-conditional seven-day trial version of Photoshop. This offer applies to Adobe’s other software as well. If you like Photoshop and want to buy it, there are four purchase plans to choose from.
The cheapest is the Photographers package which is $9.99(only available annually) and it includes Lightroom CC. If you want to buy a monthly plan you can get Photoshop for $29.99 a month.
If you want to go the extra mile and get the rest of Adobe’s software, the entire suite costs $74.99 monthly(or annual for $49.99 p/m).
Bonus Tip: Students 13 years and older get a 60% discount on the full Adobe suite plan!
People love Photoshop for its versatility and wealth of free knowledge online. Adobe has thrown millions of dollars into development so Photoshop isn’t going anywhere.
It’s a solid, professional choice for aspiring digital artists and concept artists.
Corel Painter
Price: $350 Platforms: Mac, Windows
Corel Painter is characterized by painterly brush strokes and a traditional artist’s feel to the interface.
Painter is for artists who love loose, messy brushwork and want to capture the beauty of traditional mediums on a digital canvas. It comes standard with 900 brushes covering every possible situation you could imagine.
As you might guess from the name, Corel Painter is focused on painting. But this should be great for artists who only want software to draw or paint digitally.
It has a 2.5D brush toolset that mimics real-world brushes giving you full control over the final “style” of your work.
Painter has been a serious alternative to Photoshop for several years and is the company always listens to user requests. They’ve been working hard to add new features every year and have added a bunch of artist-suggested tools into their latest release.
For example, some users complained of UI sensitivity and slow response times. Those issues were fixed with the 2019 version along with an entire UI design overhaul.
Paint Program Mac
Icons were redesigned to be more intuitive and the interface was changed to a darker theme.
Among all the new features with that version, the most celebrated was the pinned color wheel.
You can position the color wheel wherever you like on the screen giving an instant look at color options without swatches. This spectral feature means you can work in detail without the circular brush icon obscuring your view.
In Painter’s web series “Paint like Bob Ross” you can learn how to paint digital landscapes in 30 minutes using their brushes—a great introduction to conceptualizing landscapes for beginners.
The software is feature heavy and beginners might still feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of brush options and settings. But Corel is worth learning because it is another trusted industry staple among character designers, concept artists, and visual development artists.
Corel Painter has been around since 1992 and you can find an extensive library of free tutorials on their website. Or if you search on YouTube I’m sure you can find plenty of free tutorials there as well.
You won’t find as many resources compared to Photoshop. But Corel Painter is still a beast in the concept art world, or just the digital painting world in general, making it an awesome choice for hobbyists or newbies just picking up digital art for the first time.
As of this writing, a brand new copy of Corel Painter costs $350 making it an expensive once-off purchase. Although you can get a free 30-day trial to demo the software and see if it’s right for you.
Krita
Price: Free Platforms: Mac, Windows, Linux
Krita is a free open source digital painting program designed for cartoonists, illustrators, concept artists, and pretty much all digital artists.
The software was initially developed as a general image editing competitor to Photoshop but focused their efforts on digital painting starting in 2009. The Krita community donates monthly to the software efforts helping it to stay free and funding development of new features
If you have a background in some other digital art software(Photoshop for example) then Krita’s tools will be a little familiar and a little not-so-familiar.
Whether you’re switching or just getting into Krita it’s worth the time to watch a few tutorials to find out how everything works.
Krita hasn’t released many official tutorial videos but they have created detailed documentation online. If it’s your first venture into digital art then start off learning about the basic UI and toolsets.
Use the pop-up pallet to select your brushes, erasers, and colors intuitively. All other tools are stored in the panels to the left and right. Krita supports PSD files so that you can switch between Photoshop and Krita with ease.
And there’s a ton of freebies online like free brush packs that mimic everything from charcoal to watercolors and so much more. The beauty of Krita is the free price tag and the immensely supportive community around this software.
Krita has been criticized by some professional artists for its lag, seemingly unintuitive design, and uneven brush softness. Although the criticism has merit, the program’s core features work well and you will learn them with practice.
Also worth noting this has to be the absolute best choice for anyone on a Linux machine. Photoshop does not support Linux outside of a virtual emulator but Krita can run natively in any Linux distro.
This is a huge +1 for Krita since it’s really the best digital painting alternative for our Linux & Unix friends.
If you don’t have the cash to burn on digital art programs Krita is the perfect choice.
Use the program while you save up some money to grab another program. Or just stick with Krita and use it free for life! Many professional artists like David Revoy create all of their work with Krita and their stuff looks amazing.
Best thing about Krita is that it’s simple for beginners to learn and it doesn’t confuse you with a ton features or fancy tools. Krita’s purpose is digital painting and that’s precisely what it does well.
Clip Studio Paint
Price: $49 Platforms: Mac, Windows
Clip Studio Paint is the most popular software for creating comics and manga artwork.
Clip Studio Paint was originally named Manga Studio but changed names in 2013. It originated in Japan as specialist software for manga, illustration, and animators.
The program has long been a worldwide affordable alternative to Photoshop for digital artists but got more recognition with the name change.
The most notable drawing difference between Clip Studio Paint and Photoshop is the brush tool. In Clip Studio the brush tool instantly corrects any minor wobble you make while drawing on a tablet, leaving you with smooth clean linework.
Clip Studio is optimized for comic book creation and has various tools to speed up the process.
A canvas layout tool makes paneling quick with perspective rulers and a library of predefined formats. The pen tool lets you to work in a versatile vector format which means your creations can be scalable without quality loss.
In the most recent release there’s a new library of 3D objects and posable models. This is useful for concept artists who like to use references to get poses down quickly.
You can drop in a 3D model, pose it using an intuitive joint system, change the camera angle, make the character fat or thin, and choose between genders. After you’ve drawn over it you can use that same model’s shading as a reference for lighting.
Then when you’re done just delete it. Easy-peasy.
With CSP your art will always have a crisp digital finish as the software doesn’t strive for a traditional look. Although it’s possible to give your brush strokes a blended texture using brushes, Clip Studio Paint is not designed to mimic traditional mediums.
The standard version of Clip Studio Paint also comes with some very basic animation features. You can quickly test character movement over 24 frames without the annoyance of switching programs. But this is not really the best software for animation so it works best in conjunction with other programs for that purpose.
Now Clip Studio Paint comes in two versions: PRO(standard) and EX(full-featured).
Unless you’re planning on putting all of your projects through Clip Studio Paint and creating various manga & comic books, you’ll probably be happy with the PRO version. The EX edition has only a few extra features that would benefit expert users.
Mac Painting App
EX lets you save manga & comic pages in a ‘book’ which acts like one editable file. You can then bulk save them for printing which shaves off a ton of time and organizational effort.
The animation feature also gets an upgrade with EX and you can create an unlimited number of frames(instead of the standard 24).
EX comes with filters for 3D assets too turning them black and white for easier integration into your scenes.
Generally speaking, the PRO version is the same and EX minus the above features. It’s unlikely you’ll need those features as a digital painter or concept artist. Only serious comic and manga artists would find the EX features useful.
Try out either version with a free 30-day trial of both PRO and EX versions. If you don’t like it then just move on. The free version does give plenty to toy with so you’ll know whether you like CSP or don’t.
And it’s worth mentioning that the PRO edition is an affordable option at only $49 flat fee, while EX comes at a premium of $219.
Although sometimes you can get CSP at a discounted rate from annual sales so keep checking their prices.
GIMP
Price: Free Platforms: Mac, Windows, Linux
GIMP is another open source program built as a free Photoshop alternative.
Back when computer graphics were slowly becoming “a thing” it was up to software developers to create graphics for companies. With Photoshop costing a lot more back then, buying it was out of the budget for many companies.
GIMP was built to fill the need for a cheaper option to digital imaging editing software.
Unlike other free digital art software, GIMP was designed to be a full replacement for Photoshop. This means you can use it for digital painting but it’s really meant for graphic design, photo editing, text effects, and similar features.
Likewise this program has all the tools you need for digital art. If you are looking for Photoshop’s functionality without the price tag you’ll be happy to with GIMP’s default functionality.
If you know a little about software development you can also add to GIMP’s code by creating your own plugins for the system. But the default setup is more than enough for artists.
Many versions of GIMP have been released over the years, but their team of volunteers hasn’t been able to keep up with the sheer financial power of Adobe. The user interface is definitely unrefined and will be very confusing to beginners.
There are loads of GIMP tutorials created by their loyal users and there’s enough content to help you learn everything you need about the software.
Although GIMP doesn’t have a dedicated support team to answer your questions, many issues are well documented on various forums and you’ll be able to troubleshoot a solution with a few Google searches.
The painting tools are reasonable, although in my opinion Krita is a stronger option if you just need painting.
Granted you can find plenty of free GIMP brushes all made for digital drawing & painting.
But really this software is the best all-round alternative to Photoshop. If you see yourself doing a bit of design work, some painting, and some photo editing, try out GIMP and see what you think.
ArtRage
Price: $79 Platforms: Mac, Windows
ArtRage is a digital painting powerhouse that’s perfect for traditional artists moving digital and for existing professional artists.
Unlike other digital art programs, ArtRage has stepped away from the complicated user interface and ditched the blocky side panels. They want your focus on the canvas creating great work.
When you open the program you’ll find a semi-circular brush picker on the bottom left of the screen and a color picker on the bottom right. Both give you immediate access to the most important tools.

Small “pods” containing extra options hover just above the circles, minimizing extra clutter.
After you’ve picked your color and brush you can start drawing on the canvas. The UI automatically disappears(although this setting is optional) and without the UI you get a full screen canvas to work on without any distractions. Pretty cool!
If you’ve never used digital painting software before then ArtRage is fantastic. It’s beginner friendly and super affordable.
You can start off slow, familiarizing yourself with the various brushes, and slowly work your way up to painting full scenes and character designs.
If you are coming from Photoshop you’ll find the minimalist layout refreshing and easy to pick up. The brush presets are so good that you don’t need to waste time adjusting them much at all.
One of ArtRage’s most exciting features is called “real color blending”. It calculates realistic color mixing as you paint and it’s useful for digital painting in an oil or watercolor style.
If you want to try your hand at digital painting for the first time, this software will hold your hand and take you from hobbyist to professional if you put in the effort.
It doesn’t have all the gadgets and gizmos that some prominent art programs have, but it’s got all you need to make fun paintings(and a little extra).
ArtRage is budget software and friendly to those getting started. You can also use the demo version for an unlimited amount of time. The demo doesn’t let you save anything, which of course is a drag, but you can use that to familiarize yourself with the program.
If you decide you want the full version it costs $79 and you’ll receive all future updates included with your license.
If that sounds a bit expensive you could go for ArtRage Lite which is only $29.90. The lite version is great for beginners and includes all the painting features of the full version.
Think of this much like Krita but aimed for simplicity. It’s cheap enough that you could run ArtRage for life and it’s certainly refreshing when you come from a big bulky art program.
Paint Tool SAI
Price: $49 Platforms: Windows
Lastly on this list is Paint Tool SAI: a simple painting program that’s exceptionally popular among anime & manga artists.
Paint Tool SAI was first released in 2008 to a wave of popularity. It quickly spread among the art community who loved the clean brush strokes and unique interface.
SAI is a small, old program and has not been significantly updated over the years. It only runs on windows and has a limited set of features.
That being said, it’s aged remarkably well and is easy for beginners to pick up.
Many artists use SAI to achieve a digital watercolor effect where the blending modes can mimic watercolor, but the overall feel is smooth and sleek. Others use it primarily for lineart, or for creating a ton of anime.
You’ll find that Japanese artists almost exclusively use SAI for their artwork. It’s a very popular choice in Japan, likely because this software was originally developed by the Japanese Systemax Software.
SAI’s learning curve is minimal and if you’re coming from Photoshop you’ll pick it up almost instantly. It’s still very detailed though and great to use as a sketching program.
Use the pencil brush to get realistic sketches down on a textured canvas. Then switch over to brushes and color your line art to completion.
Now there are some minor limitations like that new projects are limited to 256 layers per canvas. It’s also known to slow down with larger file sizes and glitch when trying to preview .gifs in the explorer window.
They also have a weird system of brushes where you can import textures to merge with brush styles and create totally new brushes. I haven’t mastered this setup but you can find a ton of textures in this post with dozens of free brush assets for SAI users.
Painting Program For Mac Free
SAI is a Japanese program and is priced in JPY(Japanese Yen). It costs ¥5400 which roughly equates to $49.
Compared to other software on this list, SAI is a tad on the pricier side considering the last update was in 2016.
Small complaints aside, considering the price tag and the anime-centric fanbase I’d say SAI is an awesome choice for anime lovers the world over.
Graphics Painting Program For Mac
Get started using SAI by following some easy beginner tutorials on painting in the program. If you put in the time you’ll be a pro within a few weeks.
A fantastic program for anyone serious about anime-style art or any kind of digital painting. Biggest downside is you’ll have to be a Windows user.
Painting Program For Mac
Although if I had to cast a vote for the absolute best digital painting software, that title falls with Photoshop.
Here’s hoping even more digital art software comes out in the next 10 years and gives some stiff competition to Adobe’s reign.

The Evolution of Garage Door Remote and Openers in 2017: A Must Read for Every Home Garage Owner
A lot has changed since the first garage door remote was released. The basic concept of remote controls can be traced back to World War II. Back then, having garages was unheard of and they usually park their cars in their barns or just outside. Garages were unheard of let alone automatic garage doors and remote controls! Man has never been satisfied with what he has so he has to invent more and make more improvements and the evolution of these technologies has made our lives much more convenient and comfortable.
For 2017, much more evolved garage door remotes are being produced. Some of them are advanced and there are also some that took security to a whole other level.
Here are the top garage door remotes for 2017:
At number 7 is the Genie G3T-R. It features an auto seek technology which means nearby frequencies will not interfere with its ability to open your garage and its coolest feature is that it works even in the rain!
image via houseandhome2.com
At number 6 is the Craftsman 30499. It can open your garage door from a block away so you don’t have to wait on a closed garage door. It also has a convenient loop in the top so you can put it in your keychain.
image via searspartsdirect.com
At number 5 is the BFT Mitto. This is actually a basic remote in a shape that fits naturally in your hand similar to that of a TV remote. It features a rolling code technology which simply means that the code it sends to open your garage door automatically changes from time to time for added security.
image via scotechnics.com
At number 4 is the Chamberlain KLIK1U. This is actually a universal transmitter or a universal remote, so you can use it with any garage door that features a photo-eye safety sensor making this the ideal remote for replacing lost or broken ones. With everything that’s been made in China, this is made in the good old US of A.
image via smarthome.com
At the third (3) spot is the LiftMaster 971LM. The LiftMaster is one of the most trusted brands when it comes to security in garage doors and garage door openers. This remote includes a strong clip that will hold tightly to your visor and keep it nearby when you need it. This remote is also compatible with all security systems.
image via walmart.com
On second (2) place is the Linear 308911. This remote comes in a discrete grey color that you can easily put in a cupboard or in a closet that won’t catch the eye of any intruders trying to open your garage. What’s great about this remote is that it has a very user friendly coding switch.
image via amazon.com
And the number 1 garage door opener remote for 2017 is the Sears Craftsman 139.30498. This device gives you peace of mind at night or when you travel. Because of its patented AssureLink technology, you can confirm that your garage door is properly closed or is open through a smartphone or any device with internet access. Because of its security feature, this remote is the number 1garage door remote for 2017.
image via amazon.co.uk
Those were the top garage door remotes for 2017. As we all know, garage door remotes won’t exist if the garage door itself wasn’t invented C.G. Johnson invented the first garage door opener in 1926 in Hartford City, Indiana. Back then, electric garage door openers were unpopular until the Era Meter Company of Chicago offered one after World War II where the overhead garage door could be opened via a key pad located on a post at the end of the driveway or a switch inside the garage. Since then, garage door openers have evolved so much focusing on designs, availability of parts and security as well.
Like the garage door remotes, we also have our top garage door openers for 2017:
On the 10th spot is the Genie ChainLift 800. This garage opener is compatible with any HomeLink and Car2U home automation systems. This is a reliable, affordable and solid garage door opener that is strong enough to lift a standard sectional door that also shares many of the features of the best garage door openers but lacks extras such as a keyless entry pad, included in some premium models and security extras such as having the ability to disable the remote if it gets lost. Most garage door openers have a lifting capacity of 300 pounds but this model is slightly more than average because its 1/2-horsepower garage door opener can lift up to 350 pounds. While chain-driven garage openers are fairly quiet, they tend to be noisier than most belt-drive openers.
image via samsclub.com
On the 9th spot is the Genie QuietLift 800.A belt driven garage door opener that has a 1/2-horsepower that can lift up to 350 pounds. This is much quieter than its predecessor, the Genie ChainLift 800 and it’s a good choice for homes with sectional doors. This garage door opener comes with a 3-button remote control panel that allows you to turn on the lights and lock the door from being used by the remotes. This function is helpful if you lose a remote or are going on vacation.
image via amazon.com
On the 8th spot is the Chamberlain PD612EV Power Drive. This is a chain driven garage door opener that has a 1/2-horsepower lifting capacity that can lift up to 300 pounds and has a very affordable price considering that the Chamberlain is one of the top brands for garage door openers. This garage door opener includes a MyQ connectivity that you can readily activate with a smartphone. This opener is designed around a rugged chain to be durable, so it runs slightly louder than your average belt-drive system, but it’s still relatively quiet.
image via toptenreviews.com
This Chamberlain garage door opener has a long list of safety and security features. The garage door opener system anticipates potential dangers by detecting motion and reversing the motion of the door if anything or anyone interrupts that beam. The door also automatically reverses if it makes contact with anything or anyone while closing, whether the beam is broken or not. This opener supports two 100-watt bulbs so you can have plenty of light when you get out of your car.
On the 7th spot is the Sommer 3/4 HP Direct Drive. This garage door opener carries the best warranty on the market with lifetime coverage on the motor, lift system and parts. This is an innovative, powerful, quiet garage door opener that is powered by a strong 3/4-horsepower motor that, unlike the majority of garage openers, moves along the rail with only one moving part. Although it uses a chain drive, which is traditionally noisier than most belt drives, the single moving part gives the Direct Drive an extremely low noise profile. While this is an unconventional design, the 3/4-horsepower motor is strong enough to lift doors up to 550 pounds. This includes wooden double-wide doors and standard sectionals. The included rail is tall enough for a 7- to 8-foot door, and a separate extension is available for purchase if you have a 10-foot tall door.
image via amazon.com
On the 6th spot is the Chamberlain PD762EV.With a generous warranty and smartphone compatibility, this strong, quiet door opener is a great solution for homeowners with heavy garage doors and is compatible with MyQ home automation systems. What makes this one of the best garage door openers is that its safety features, lifting capability, durability and 3/4-horsepower chain-driven opener is reliable, quiet and significantly stronger than 1/2-horsepower models. The 3/4-horsepower motor can lift doors up to 550 pounds with ease.
image via amazon.com
On the 5th spot is the Craftsman 1/2 HP Belt Drive 54915. Although this opener doesn’t support any home automation systems, the door’s Motor Vibration Isolation feature makes it run especially quiet so it is a good choice if you have a bedroom close to the garage. This opener has less power than some of the top garage door openers in our lineup, but there is a lot to like about this opener. The lifting system uses a belt instead of a chain and many consumers prefer belt garage door openers because they run cleaner and quieter than a chain, and with a belt there is no need to keep everything greased. With its Motor Vibration Isolation System design, it eliminates excess movement, which keeps it relatively quiet. This opener works best with double-wide aluminum doors or single-wide wood doors, but you would not want to use it for heftier doors as the 1/2-horsepower motor has a lifting limit of 300 pounds.
image via sears.com
On the 4th spot is the Craftsman 3/4 HP Chain Drive 54990. This chain drive opener has a 3/4-horsepower motor capable of lifting doors up to 550 pounds although this opener doesn’t work with home automation systems but it’s a strong, reliable opener with nice security and safety features that will protect you in times of emergency. Craftsman, a Sears brand, is a tool and hardware line known for its high quality, and the Craftsman 3/4-horsepower Chain Drive garage door opener is no exception. This powerful garage opener is capable of lifting doors that weigh up to 550 pounds and while chain drive openers have a bad reputation for being noisy, the chain used by this Craftsman is much smoother and quieter than other chain drive openers.
image via m.ebay.com
On the 3rd spot is the LiftMaster 8550 Elite Series. This model is part of the Elite Series from LiftMaster. While this garage door opener scrimps on such common features as a keyless entry pad and a second remote, it is a reliable, quiet unit that includes such extras as an automatic closing functionality and it has a backup battery, so you can still open your garage door during a power outage. This belt-driven garage opener runs smoothly and quietly, unlike many of the cheaper chain-drive units commonly found in existing homes and it has all the essential features and a few extras, like a timer-to-close function that will automatically close your door if you forget and the powerful 3/4-horsepower motor will lift doors of all sizes. With its many features, it’s one of the best garage door openers on the market.
image via amazon.com
On the 2nd spot is the Chamberlain Ultra Quiet. The Ultra Quiet is a safe, quiet and efficient belt-drive garage door opener with a nice feature package, good security features and plenty of power for standard-sized doors but it can only lift doors that weigh 300 pounds or less. It works efficiently and quietly so that you hardly know they are there. This garage door opener is reliable and has extras, like smartphone functionality, that makes it a great value and while this belt-drive garage door opener isn’t as powerful as the Chamberlain Premium, it has all the features you need with a 1/2-horsepower garage door opener, including an uncommon timer-to-close function that will automatically close your garage door for you if you forget.
image via chamberlain.com
And our number 1 garage door opener is the Chamberlain Premium Whisper Drive. The Chamberlain Premium Whisper Drive is a strong, reliable garage door opener and one of the best garage openers available which operates quietly and efficiently. It features a rechargeable battery that can open your garage during power outages and has a superior lifetime warranty on the motor and belt. It has a rich feature package that gives you everything you need, including a powerful motor that will lift just about any garage door and smartphone connectivity that lets you control the door remotely. It has Chamberlain’s usual solid construction that should live up to the generous warranty. It’s easily one of the best on the market.

Of all the many options out there for both garage door remotes and garage door openers, we assure you that we are only recommending you the best of the best for your home garage.

A lot has changed since the first garage door remote was released. The basic concept of remote controls can be traced back to World War II. Back then, having garages was unheard of and they usually park their cars in their barns or just outside. Garages were unheard of let alone automatic garage doors and remote controls! 2021 Chevy Tahoe first drive review: Come sail away
Body-on-frame SUVs are a dying breed, but GM’s truck-based family of utility vehicles are damn near everywhere on the roads. For good reason, too; their primitive underpinnings provide for some major capability, whether it’s hauling people or horse trailers or whatever. But ubiquity doesn’t mean perfection, and resting on one’s laurels for too long never turns out well. For 2021, the Chevrolet Tahoe and its Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade siblings pick up some major refinements that add some yachting flavor to these boats.
When the latest generation of GM’s pickup trucks came out, the response was… a smidge tepid. The exterior was on the Seinfeld side of breathtaking, and the interiors felt stagnant, with too few changes over the previous generation. The 2021 Tahoe, by comparison, just gels. Chevy‘s corporate front end front end looks far more imposing on the Tahoe, and a few strong character lines break up some of the slab-sided look that comes with an SUV this big.
And yes, this thing is massive. The Tahoe’s new body is about 7 inches longer than before, with a wheelbase extension not far behind. The result is an absolute boatload (groan) of cargo capacity and interior space. Cargo space is up 66% behind the third row to 25.5 cubic feet, thanks in part to a load floor that’s nearly half a foot lower, but it’s not like that space comes at the expense of passenger comfort. Those in the way, way backs get an extra 10 inches of legroom, something my 6-foot frame immediately appreciates. I’ve lived in smaller studio apartments. The first and second row are precisely as voluminous as you think, too.
So where did all this extra space come from? The answer is three letters that would give any “creative” accountant pause: IRS. To further differentiate the big-boy SUVs from their truck siblings, General Motors swapped out the ol’ stick axle in favor of an independent rear suspension. Not only does this offer up all manner of space, it vastly improves the ride quality.
Make no mistake, you won’t forget that there’s a truck hiding under this boxy shell. Some of the traditional body-on-frame judder is present over more severe bumps, but by and large, the ride quality falls within the positive definition of nautical. My High Country tester comes standard with GM’s excellent Magnetic Ride Control magnetorheological suspension, but it’s enhanced further with a $1,000 adaptive air suspension that is absolutely worth the cost of entry. Both low- and high-speed cruising take place in a cushioned, comfortable state that eats up road nastiness. It’s the most luxurious GM’s full-size SUVs have ever felt — as my tester damn well should, given its shocking as-tested price of $81,845.
The rest of the Tahoe’s underpinnings also stress smoothness. The High Country’s engine is the largest offered on Tahoe, a 6.2-liter V8 churning out 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, with an exhaust note that’s more than a little Corvette-inspired, especially at full clip. That eight-pot works well in conjunction with its 10-speed automatic transmission, hopping through the gears with ease. The pedal modulation is dead simple, making for smooth starts and stops. Of course, a lump this big tends to be thirsty, and the EPA’s estimates of 14 miles per gallon city and 19 mpg highway reflect that.
That stuff is all well and good, but the biggest and best improvements in the 2021 Chevy Tahoe are found inside. Further separating itself from its trucky family, the Tahoe’s interior is much closer to a passenger car, with a modern “floating” infotainment screen and a dashboard design that is actually interesting for a change. The High Country trim errs on the luxurious side (and at $72,000 to start, it’d better), with soft leather just about everywhere. The push-button transmission controls on the dash face take some getting used to, but as far as child’s-toy-lookin’ toggles go, these are king of the hill. There’s still a whole bunch o’ switches, something GM will probably struggle with until the heat death of the universe, but they’re put in sensible places and are legible at a glance.
As you might expect, there are ten trillion places to store your junk in the Tahoe. The door pockets have multiple layers to better separate items, and while my tester’s under-armrest cubby feels shallow, that’s actually not a bad thing. For $350, you can option an electric sliding center console, which slides aft to give the second row better access to this storage space. Sliding the console back also reveals a hidden compartment that will be an excellent place to store one’s valuables. I don’t generally get smitten with gimmicks, but this one is pretty sweet, and you can have it for a song. If I don’t need the third-row seats, I can fold them flat using the buttons overhead, another nice touch.
Now playing: Watch this: 2021 Chevy Tahoe is ready to set sail
2: 48
GM’s vehicles already come with a solid complement of dashboard tech, and the Tahoe is no exception. My tester’s center screen measures 10 inches and runs the automaker’s latest infotainment system, which is quick to respond and laid out well. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are on offer, and all trims except the base LS get a standard Qi induction charger. It’s not like there aren’t ports in here, though; the front row gets two USB outlets (one USB-A, one USB-C), and the second and third rows each carry dual USB-Cs. Short of a barbiturate dispenser, access to device chargers is probably the best in-car addition to keep the kids quiet on long trips to the lake house.
For whatever reason, Big Bowtie has generally been pretty stingy with its safety systems, but the Tahoe packs a number of standard driver-assistance aids, including automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, parking sensors and a suitably high-def backup camera. A $3,355 Technology Package bolsters that with adaptive cruise control and a radar-based automatic braking upgrade. Up to nine cameras can cover just about every angle of the Tahoe, and a top-down view on the infotainment screen is basically necessary when trying to park something the size of an office building.
How do you make a truck better than a truck? By putting a whole lot more into it than usual. The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe has almost completely separated itself from its roots with the addition of key upgrades like an independent rear suspension and a well-thought-out interior. Those with large families or the need for more capaciousness than most walk-in closets will not be let down with this latest generation of full-size SUVs, which is now fully positioned as a 21st-century hauler.

How to find a tablet that works for you
With a few accessories, a tablet can become a sleek laptop alternative. ( Brooke Cagle / Unsplash/)
Tablets pack all the power of smartphones behind a larger screen, which comes in handy when you’re watching Netflix or reviewing documents on the go. These devices are so versatile that you can even grab a clip-on keyboard and a wireless mouse, and turn your tablet into a light, slim laptop replacement.
In recent years, the market has been flooded with many different kinds of tablets, but the plethora of models can be overwhelming. It may even get in your way when it comes to finding that slab of high-tech magic that best fits your needs.
Knowing your options and the specifications you'll need to consider will make navigating the tablet jungle easier. And at the end, you’ll be able to find a device that’s perfect for you.
Decide on key specs
First and foremost, you should think about how big you want your tablet to be. Larger tablets are heavier, so you’ll have to find the right compromise between screen size—ranging roughly from 8 to 13 inches—and portability.
If watching videos is important to you, you may want a device where you can see more details, rather than a lighter tablet that’s easy to carry around. In that case, it’s also important to consider the resolution of the screen, as measured in pixels—a device that packs more pixels into the same screen size will give you a sharper image.
Unless you plan to leave your tablet at home all the time, battery life will also be a crucial consideration. You can start by noting the size of the battery when you review the specs list, but that’s not the only indicator you need to look for. As with overall performance, a lot of other factors influence the length of a battery’s life, including the efficiency of the device as a whole, and the size and brightness of the screen. A good way to get an accurate idea is to check the manufacturer’s quoted battery life and compare it with reviews from users online.
Next, think about the accessories you’ll want to use with your tablet. If you want it to make digital art, make sure your tablet supports one or more styluses. If you want to turn your tablet into a makeshift laptop, check for compatibility with snap-on keyboards. Most tablet manufacturers are now making at least some effort to push their devices as laptop alternatives, so you should definitely be able to find at least a couple of accessories that play nice with the device of your choosing.
As you go through the product’s specifications, you will see references to processor speed (how fast the device makes calculations) and its RAM memory (how much data it can handle at once). Both these specs affect the overall performance of your tablet, but because processing power is hard to parse, they don’t make great benchmarks for comparing one tablet to another. Each manufacturer tends to use a different processor, (or CPU) and give it its own confusing label. This makes it hard to compare tablets from different brands, though it can help to compare different products within the same range and brand—in Apple’s iPad range, for example, the A12 beats the A10.
If you narrow down your choice to two or three tablets, a quick online search should give you some indication of how their processors stack up. Some YouTubers specialize in analyzing similar gadgets and comparing them, so it’s highly likely someone already did the homework for you.
More RAM is always better, but keep in mind that it's not the only factor that affects performance. The quality of the components and the efficiency of the internal engineering also affect a tablet's speed. So while we'd suggest making a note of the CPU and RAM specs, don’t give them too much weight in your final decision. The price of the tablet is usually a good indicator of whether you're getting a speedy or sluggish device. And of course, online reviews can always help.
Pick an operating system
The 2020 iPad Pros are some of the fastest tablets around. (Apple/)
Like laptops, tablets come with one of three primary operating systems. In fact, picking which one you prefer will be one of the biggest decisions you make while choosing your device. We won’t go into a full blow-by-blow comparison here, but here are some of the key points for you to keep in mind.
Apple continues to push the iPad as a serious proposition for on-the-go computing, and even gave its signature tablet its own operating system. Called iPad OS, it includes features such as a Mac-style dock, better app switching, and support for a mouse or trackpad. It is certainly a slick and polished choice, but it works best with other Apple hardware and software, as most Apple gadgets do. If you’re already invested in the company’s ecosystem (meaning your computer is a Mac and you have an iPhone and other Apple devices), going for an iPad is a logical choice.
Even Google would admit that Android works better on smartphones than tablets. Many apps, such as the Microsoft Office and Google suites, work fine on the larger devices, but compared to iPadOS, Android tends to have fewer apps specifically geared toward tablet use. This is slowly improving though, and you’ll usually be able to find apps optimized for tablets in the Google Play Store. Going for an Android tablet is a good choice if you want to use it with a broader range of devices or feel uncomfortable getting locked into the Apple ecosystem.
Windows may have been a casualty in the smartphone battle, but the system is pretty much alive in the tablet realm. Microsoft developed Windows 10 to work as an operating system that runs on desktops, laptops, and tablets alike, so, unlike iOS and Android, you’re essentially getting a full desktop experience on a tablet. Microsoft’s OS is well worth considering for a tablet, especially if you have some serious computing to do on the move.
Choose your tablet
On a budget? The Amazon Fire HD 8 could be a great option. (Amazon /)
Once you've chosen an operating system, you can dig deeper into the specific hardware options for each one.
With Apple, you've got no fewer than five iPads to pick from—the entry-level 10.2-inch iPad, the slightly faster 7.9-inch iPad Mini and 10.5-inch iPad Air, and the faster still 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros. The Pro screens have extra abilities like adjusting white balance and refresh rates based on the room lighting and the viewed content.
All these models come in a variety of configurations in regards to on-board storage and whether or not you want the LTE option. Prices vary a lot too—from $329 for the Wi-Fi-only 32GB 10.2-inch iPad, to $1,649 for the Wi-Fi and LTE 1TB 12.9-inch iPad Pro. All iPads run the same iPadOS and support stylus and keyboard inputs.
Over on the Android side of the fence, you can choose between premium and more budget-minded options. On the high end, Samsung’s 10.5-inch Galaxy Tab S6 is about the best bet right now. It starts at $450—a lot cheaper than Apple’s highest tier—but just as with the iPad, your final price may change depending on storage size and accessory choices.
If you’re on a budget, you still have plenty of Android tablet options—just check a few reviews first to make sure you avoid buying a tablet that grinds to a halt after a couple of months. We like the 10.1-inch Lenovo Smart Tab M10 ($148 on Amazon) and the 10-inch Dragon Touch K10 ($120 on Amazon). You can also save serious money with the Amazon Fire range—the 8-inch Fire HD 8 tablet is just $95 on Amazon— but Fire users have to limit their app-shopping to Amazon’s smaller Android app store instead of the full Google Play Store.
Windows 10 lovers also have a wealth of options to pick from. Start your comparison shopping with Microsoft’s own 12.3-inch Surface Pro 7 ($900 on Amazon) or the smaller, less powerful, more affordable 10-inch Surface Go (from $390). Finally, compare the specs and options to the Windows 10 offerings from other manufacturers.
Other options include the premium 12.3-inch HP Elite X2 ($1,000 on Amazon) or the more affordable 11.6-inch Chuwi UBook ($350 on Amazon). Samsung, Dell, Acer, and HP also sell their own ranges of Windows 10 tablets (or 2-in-1 laptops that fold over to double up as tablets). When browsing through these options, remember to factor accessory costs into your price comparisons, since many Windows 10 devices come with a keyboard or stylus included.

About Hyundai locks and key structure
Hyundai is a Korean automobile manufacturer producing spectrum of prevailing cars. From 2007 Hyundai keylock infrastructure operates on a transponder chip infrastructure and in 2007 embrace the Proximity Key as the smart-key and push-button start ignition system for exceedingly all of its cars.
The digital chips transponder key transmits a very low level RF signal to the vehicle which can only be detected when the exact encoded key is in the switch, contrarily the fuel injection and the car will not start up and maybe locked for several minutes.
This anti theft technologies is helping the insurance companies, vehicle owners and vehicle producers in hampering crime and save a lot of money worldwide, notwithstanding compensating lost, stolen and broken keys or even duplicating an extra key will be far more expensive.
Ignition cylinder repair
The ignition switch feeds power from your car battery to most of your car’s electronics and consist of small mechanical and electrical components that as a fact of life have tendency to wear through after opening and closing the ignition system for many years.
If your Hyundai key is stuck in the ignition lock, key have problems turning in the ignition, ignition key turn freely in the ignition cylinder and dash-board lights flickering, chances are strong that it is a syndrome of run-down ignition or key due to a high temperature, broken springs or dent ignition key that can all provoke the ignition cylinder to fall short, preventing you from kindling your motor vehicle.
When driver use a vehicle, defective ignition switch could shut the engine down during driving, which could turn out to be very terribly hazardous, henceforth our recommendation to owners not to make unauthorized alterations to the ignition switch by unqualified individual as it most likely going to induce a larger deterioration and danger.
The best a driver can do coming across ignition or key issues is to double-check you’re actually attempting to start your own car and call a car lock man to arrive to your premise to repair, replace reprogram the ignition or key which will priced as about $150–$350.
Transponder key cut and program
Contemporary vehicle equipped with car computer and car keys are provided with digital chip located on the blade (in VAT) keys or secreted inside the bill of the key. When the transponder key is placed into the ignition key-pocket, the transponder chip emits an exclusive code for the immobiliser to be verified. Without this precise authorization code, the car will not crank.
When a car owner want to duplicate or lose his key, the transponder should be re-coded with the same code to be recognized by the immobiliser.
Some manufacturers of automobiles models and years minister on board plan for addition of keys, yet if all keys are misplaced, the car computer system should be rekeyed by compatible key programming machine owned by a locksmith or the dealer-ship.
Hyundai key-less entry
Smartkeys are a top choice in car user comfort and convenience, you are adept to unlock and lock your car door and furthermore igniting the car engine – without even holding the key. You just need to have it on yourself, whether in your purse or pocket.
Every time the car user walk by their motor vehicle, the keyless entry is detected by a paired combination of audio and infrared chip inside the keyless device. The car door open and unlock when the car user yanks the lock handle. The car engine bursts pressing a push-buttons on the dash board. The push-buttons is taking the place of the mechanical key by opening the current on the car fuel injection.
Locking the car when exiting is just as straightforward. The car user merely pushes a button on the door lock handle – some smart-key mechanisms even lock when ever the car user walks out of reach.
Copy vs lost car keys
The actual process of duplicating a car key differ among particular year and models of your Hyundai. On few types of vehicles, dash-board console programming could be employed to copy a chipped key. This process bypass the need for extravagant key coding machine and key codes when syncing a new transponder key to the car. Models who don't support Control panel key programming option need to have a spare key programmed using a suitable key coding machine that is available solely to an accredited locksmith or Hyundai dealer-ship.
This coding machine priced as about a few grands to own which is one of the main reasons having an electric car key costs significantly more than it does to plainly cut an old-style mechanical key.
If you lost your car key and have no spare you will probably need to tow your car to the dealership or schedule with a vehicle locksmith to come down to your premise to reprogram the car computer module to accept the new key and deny the old one.
