So uh... anyone else think Hashmap might be the default sylladex for lowbloods on Alternia before they get their own unique ones? The lowblood wording patterns for objects pretty much exactly the hoops Dave had to jump through just to captchalogue things and Bro was technically trying to raise Dave like a troll.

I don't think it's for lowbloods. Aradia's fetch modus was a Oujia board kind. Letting spirits decide what she can retrieve out from her inventory. It can be assumed it was still this even before she died when we were first introduced to her.

Sollux would then get Karkat's Encryption fetch modus since it would be much easier for him. If Karkat was part of lowbloods, he wouldn't get a sylladex this special because of his mutantblood.

Me and my friends have successfully completed Sburb, and with the help of a…normal source of infinite information, I’m here to help with your Sburbian woes! Homestuck Headcanon 2: No they aren't, the Trolls just equip their clothes from their sylladexes or the environment. They don't have to physically put them on, though they could if they wanted to be Weird about it, so their horns getting caught on the neckline generally isn't an issue.

Ejecting items through speech is a quirk common to all sylladices, rather than a unique feature of Dirk's tech-hop modus; though the tech-hop modus is "often employed in rap battles", Dave's hash map modus is actually closer to "what most hashrap artists traditionally employ".

Explosion followup: yeah fair enough. I'm plagued by mild but confusing statistical anomalies. If diacritics were present all along but just happened to never show up until now that's pretty par for the course. Anyway I tried ejecting the explosion and it won't come out.

Just take the physical captchacard and destroy it. Code artifacts might spill out, bin those.

Sburb2 human OC Sylladexes

Izzy: Aspect Deck

A Sylladex that resembles the popular trading card game Aspect: The Summoning (primarily played by small children, sweaty gross dudes, and lesbians looking to hook up). She starts out with it in Draft Mode, which is a 40 card minimum. In order to use an item, you must first "energize" other items to reach that card's Aspect Value. Only one of the energized items has to be of the same Aspect. More powerful items have higher Aspect values. Energized items last until you "scoop" at whihc point....(trails off)

Benefits:

Potentially infinite storage,

exciting af to use

Drawbacks:

Extremely inconvenient to access what you want

heavily luck-based

needless complexity

Kate: Photo Album

A Sylladex that resembles a photo album. You can only see ten items at a time, but by turning the pages, you can access any item whenever you want.

Benefits:

High storage capacity.

Convenient access.

Easily organized.

Drawbacks:

Requires use of the Camerakind Specibus, which is otherwise of limited utility.

Items take a seemingly arbitrary amount of time before they "develop" and become usable again.

Cards are much flimsier than standard Sylladex and can easily get carried away in a strong wind.

Boring. People will think you're boring.

Colt: Six-Shooter

A Sylladex consisting of up to six items, stored in a rotating chamber Before using any item, user must "spin" the chamber. Item is selected at random, and can be an empty chamber. Can carry more than one.

Benefits:

Items are ejected at high velocity, making weaponization easy.

Randomness provides a thrilling element.

Drawbacks:

Limited storage space

Easy to lose track of what you stored where

Items are ejected at high velocity, potentially damaging or losing them

Haru: Beigoma

A Sylladex that pits two items against each other to decide which one you use. Both items are transformed into tops that spin at each other until one is ejected from the arena. The winning item appears in your hand. The other item is ejected from your inventory at high speed.

Benefits:

Exciting and fun

Only semi-random

Experience and careful item selection can make the outcome more predictable.

Drawbacks:

There is still a strong random element,

Impossible to aim weaponization effect

Can be wasteful, as one item is all but guaranteed to be lost.

Takes a moment to resolve conflict.

I, uh, just accidentally broke my sylladex. I can’t retrieve anything from it and I can’t put anything in it. There’s also some very important quest items in it. What do I do?

Well. Don’t know how you did that exactly, but congratulations? My honest advice is to just get a new syllabi, which drops from most Underlings. But that won’t exactly get your quest items back so honestly I’m stumped. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, (the Game loves its obtuse fate based systems,) so there’s a good chance you’ll get them back at exactly the time you need them. But uh. I don’t know how to fix this. GG out?

Session ID 15186-15186-15186F. So y'all's recent questions inspired me to ponder the nature of explosions for a bit and I may have, somehow, captchalogued one. And, possibly related, my sylladex has gone all weird, like the captchas have diacritics and instead of hole/no hole the punchcard options are hole/no hole/secret third thing and everything I captchalogue gets broken.

Okay, that's on you. Except for the diacritics in captcha, that'S normal, there is only so many characters and we need to use all of them.

So just eject the explosion from your sylladex and things will be fine. More or less. First rule of having a sylladex is: do not captchalogue abstract and immaterial concepts - such as explosion, which is just energy and velocity.
