hii!! i love the way you write the whc boys so much. can you do something with the eunjang quartet x fem!reader but in a platonic way. like she is there to patch them up and treat them to some food or something after every fight (especially after the last one they had with the union - which she was understandably worried about)
after the storm | eunjang!quartet x fem!reader

summary: after the brutal fight against the union, they show up at her family’s restaurant—bloodied but alive. she worries, she scolds, she patches, she feeds. in between, there's banter, comfort, and something quiet and tender that lingers in the silences.
warnings: [platonic?] canon-typical violence aftermath, light blood/injury description, hurt/comfort .
author's note: this is so wholesome :(( . requests ,,
the familiar scent of frying oil and garlic wafted through the air as she wiped down a table by the window, cloth in one hand, mind far from the rhythms of the restaurant. the neon sign of her family’s fried chicken place buzzed softly behind her, but the usual comfort it brought her felt distant today. she hadn't been able to stop thinking about it—the fight. the one she wasn't supposed to know about, but of course she did. she always did when it came to them.
her hand slowed over the tabletop, worry nesting in her chest. the late afternoon sun spilled golden light through the glass, casting long shadows and warming the wooden floors, but it did little to settle the twist in her stomach. she had checked her phone twice in the last hour, hoping for a message, even just an emoji. nothing.
just as she turned to the next table, she caught a glimpse of movement outside. her breath caught.
the four of them.
yeon sieun, stoic as ever; baku, somehow still smiling even with dried blood on his brow; jung tae, bruised but beaming; and go hyuntak, his arm slung carelessly over sieun’s shoulder, eyes bright with the adrenaline of victory.
she dropped the rag.
"are you serious?!" she half-shouted, half-squeaked, rushing to the front entrance, throwing open the door so fast the bell above it clanged in protest. she stormed outside, arms flying in disbelief.
"what the hell happened to you guys?! look at your faces! jung tae, are you even walking properly?! baku, your lip—! gotak! you're bleeding through your shirt! and sieun—" she stopped at him, heart clenching at the sight of crimson staining his temple. "you too?"
they all looked at her like she was a sight from a better world. baku chuckled, reaching forward to ruffle her hair with a bloodied hand. "missed you too."
she slapped his hand away with a huff, eyes wide with exasperation but soft with relief. "you're all idiots. absolute, complete idiots. come inside before you all faint on the street."
they followed without protest, brushing past the bell once more as she ushered them to the back of the restaurant where it was quieter. her parents peeked in from the kitchen, and she waved quickly. "can you make extra portions? they need food. a lot of it."
"rough day again?" her father asked, already pulling out the pans.
"something like that," she muttered.
she dragged out the first aid kit and moved toward the table where the boys sat—some slouched, some upright, all bruised. gotak was the first she started with, dabbing a cloth gently over his cheek.
"you didn’t even try to block, did you?"
he grinned, his hand naturally resting on her thigh like it always did, no thought to the gesture, and she didn’t mind. "didn’t need to. we won."
"that’s not the point," she said, flicking his forehead.
"ow," he chuckled, his eyes catching hers for just a second longer than usual. her hand lingered a beat longer too, thumb brushing just under his jaw. he didn’t flinch.
she cleared her throat and moved to sieun next. he sat perfectly still, letting her tend to him like he always did. their eyes met—no words exchanged—but he gave the smallest nod. she returned it with a faint smile. he never needed to speak much. he always understood. but something in the way his gaze lingered today made her chest tighten. like he was reading more than he let on.
jung tae winced as she pressed antiseptic onto a scrape on his neck.
"don’t be a baby."
"you’re treating me like one."
"because you are one," she said, patting his cheek. "you’re lucky i don’t swaddle you in bubble wrap."
he flushed, muttering something about being strong as she moved on to baku, who held out his arm with a dramatic sigh.
"you should open a clinic," he teased. "but only for good-looking guys."
she smirked. "so i guess i’ll be closing after today, then."
"ouch. that’s cold."
they bantered easily as she wrapped gauze around his forearm. it was always like this with baku—like talking to a much older friend who still knew how to laugh like a kid. he leaned a bit closer as she tied the final knot in the bandage.
"you’re really good at this, you know?" he said more seriously, his voice low. "you keep everyone stitched up, not just with tape and gauze."
she blinked, taken aback by the sincerity. "you’re just saying that because i’m your free nurse."
"nah. saying it ‘cause it’s true."
food arrived not long after, filling the air with sizzling spices and warmth. plates clinked. drinks poured. for a moment, the chaos of the outside world paused.
gotak’s hand stayed on her thigh as he ate, casual and unthinking, but every so often his pinky tapped against her knee like he wasn’t quite as unaffected as he looked. she leaned slightly into him without thinking. it was just how they were—but tonight, the warmth of him beside her seemed to sink deeper into her skin.
sieun sat across from her, meeting her gaze occasionally with the tiniest of smiles. that was enough. except this time, he didn’t look away as quickly. his eyes lingered. she looked down at her plate, suddenly aware of how warm her ears felt.
jung tae animatedly talked about how he “almost” knocked a guy’s tooth out, while she poked fun at his exaggerated expressions.
"you should’ve seen me! the guy was huge. i mean, hulk huge."
"and you? what, ant-man?" she laughed, nudging his side.
"i’m tall!" he protested.
"you’re adorable."
he groaned, dropping his chopsticks in defeat. "why does everyone call me that?"
"because it’s true," gotak chimed in with a grin, ruffling jung tae’s already messy hair.
and baku, between mouthfuls, reached over to ruffle her hair again.
"you’re good at worrying," he said.
she rolled her eyes, but a smile tugged at her lips. "and you’re good at making me do it."
as the night wore on and the plates grew emptier, the energy shifted into something slower, softer. gotak leaned back, his shoulder brushing hers, and she didn’t move away. when she yawned, he tilted his head toward her.
"tired?"
"a little. long day."
"want me to carry you upstairs?" he teased.
she rolled her eyes but laughed. "you’d trip over the first step."
"still worth the offer."
across the table, sieun watched quietly, fingers tapping against his drink. their eyes met again, and for a heartbeat, everything felt still.
it was nothing. probably nothing.
but maybe it wasn’t.
the table bubbled with quiet laughter again. they were beaten, bruised, borderline limping—but they were together.
and that made everything feel okay again.

Revelations: Sieun's sister
Yeon Sieun x Sister! Reader
Importante: Inglês não é minha primeira língua, então, por favor, me perdoe se houver algum erro.
•Esta é minha primeira história, espero que gostem.
Pt.1, Pt.2
Synopsis:An unexpected visit to Eunjang High catches the attention of those who least expected it. Sometimes, a small break from routine is all it takes to spark curiosity.
☀️ Late afternoon at Eunjang High...
The afternoon was muggy, the end of classes was approaching, and the movement in front of Eunjang High School went on as usual: noisy, routine, without any big surprises.
Except for one.
You were standing there, leaning next to the main gate, phone in hand, watching the students come and go. Your eyes, however, kept returning to the exit.
Normally, you weren’t the one coming here. It was Si Eun, your brother, who usually went to your school. But since you had gotten out earlier today, you decided to surprise him. Go to *his* school and wait for him. You were curious to see his reaction.
And you ended up drawing attention.
Across the street, three boys were chatting as they walked. It was Baku who noticed first.
He stopped and nodded with his chin.
— “Are you guys seeing what I’m seeing?”
Jun Tae followed his gaze.
— “There’s a girl standing at the gate.”Go Tak frowned.
— “She’s probably waiting for someone.”
Baku raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
— “First time I see a girl around here. And she doesn’t look lost.”
— “Think she’s waiting for someone from here?” — Jun Tae asked, more surprised than curious.
— “Could be someone’s girlfriend. Or sister.” — Go Tak said thoughtfully.
— “Either way, the guy’s lucky.” — Baku added.
While they commented, Si Eun appeared from the inner courtyard, calmly heading toward the exit. He passed by his friends, as he always did, giving a slight nod. But as soon as he saw you, he slowed his pace.He stopped for a moment. He didn’t look exactly surprised, but...curious. You didn’t show up here for no reason. You raised your hand in a small wave.
— “Si Eun,” — you called, with a serene smile, as if it were something usual.
Ele se aproximou lentamente, examinando discretamente os arredores — alerta, como sempre — antes de parar na sua frente.
— “What happened? Why are you here?”
— “I left class early,” you answered calmly. —“Thought I’d wait for you today.”
He let out a light sigh and moved to stand beside you.
— “Let’s go.”You started walking together.
Across the street, the three friends were watching the scene, stunned.
— “I’m really seeing this, right?” — Go Tak said, breaking the silence.
— “He knows her,” Jun Tae stated, still visibly surprised.
— “It seems like more than that…” — Baku murmured with a half-smile. — “The way he looked at her…”
Go Tak crossed his arms.
— “Think she’s… his girlfriend?”
Jun Tae’s eyes widened.
— “Si Eun... dating?”
Baku chuckled, shaking his head.
— “Hard to believe, but… who knows.”
— “There’s a first time for everything. Still, Si Eun doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who would date anyone.” — Go Tak added.
☀️ The next day...
It was break time. The four of them were sitting near the court, where the sun hit hard, already announcing the weekend heat.
— “I’m gonna ask.” — Baku said, straight to the point.
Go Tak looked sideways at him.
— “Ask what?”— “About the girl from yesterday.”
He turned to Si Eun.
— “Who was she?”
— “She looked pretty comfortable,” Jun Tae commented. —“Talked to you like it was totally natural.”
Si Eun stared at his phone for a few seconds before answering calmly:
— “Because it is. She’s my sister.”
Silence fell instantly.
Jun Tae blinked, confused.
— “You have a sister?”
— “I do.”
— “What?! You two don’t look anything alike!” — Go Tak exclaimed.
— “She’s still my sister.” — Si Eun replied, in the same calm tone as always.
— “And you never said anything?” — Baku asked, almost offended.
— “There was never a reason.” — he answered simply. —“And no one ever asked.”
Go Tak leaned back on the bench, relaxing.
— “So, not a girlfriend.”There was a brief pause.
— “She seems nice.” — Jun Tae said sincerely.
— “She is.” — Si Eun replied. And for the first time, there was something softer in his tone. Almost unnoticeable, but it was there.
Baku was quiet for a few seconds before asking, with his usual relaxed smile:
— “So... do you think we could get to know her better someday?”
Si Eun looked at him. Not seriously, but attentively.
— “Maybe. But take it easy.”
— “Look, I can’t promise anything.” — Baku replied, in a playful tone.
Si Eun kept looking at him, just as he always did.
Go Tak smiled to the side, shaking his head.
— “Always his way…”
Baku laughed and ruffled Si Eun’s hair.
— “I told you not to mess with my hair.” — he said, staring at Baku.
— “Alright, alright.” — Baku replied, raising his hands in surrender.
📍 Meanwhile, somewhere else...
— "Huh? Why is my ear getting hot?" — you asked, looking in the mirror and seeing that it was not only hot, but also red, as if someone had hit it.
Note: If you've made it this far, thank you very much for reading, I hope you enjoyed it and I apologize again for any mistakes.

Revelations: Si Eun's sister Part 2
Yeon sieun x Sister! Reader
English is not my first language
Pt.1, Pt.2
Synopsis: When Si Eun's friends show up unannounced, you realize that behind your brother's silence lies a strong and sincere bond—and that perhaps now you are part of it, too.
Mr. Jang’s café had already become part of your Saturday routine. It was the place where you and Si Eun would spend hours in silence — him studying, you enjoying a bit of peace. The back table was always the same, and the sound of coffee being brewed had become familiar.
That Saturday, the atmosphere was calm. Si Eun was typing on his laptop, focused, until he stopped for a moment and looked in your direction.
— "Did you bring a jacket?"
You looked up, confused by the sudden question.
— "I did. Why?"
— "It’s going to get colder later."
That was his way of showing concern. No fuss, straight to the point. You gave a faint smile and returned to your book.
Suddenly, the café door opened with a sharp sound, and three cheerful voices broke the silence. Si Eun didn’t even need to look.
— "I told you he’d be here. He mentioned once he came here." — said a familiar voice, playfully.
You looked up and saw three figures walking in. They moved with the ease of people who already knew exactly what they were doing.
— "We should’ve done this earlier" — Baku commented, glancing around with a grin. — "If we waited for Si Eun to introduce us to his sister on his own, it would’ve taken at least five years."
Go Tak nodded, amused.
— "We just sped up the inevitable. And honestly, I was curious."
— "Me too" — Jun Tae added, softly but sincerely. — "I just didn’t want to intrude on her space..."
— "Jun Tae, we’re literally intruding right now" — Baku retorted, laughing.
You watched the scene, not quite understanding what was going on. That’s when Baku approached the table, stopping right in front of you.
— "Whoa. What’s this? A family meeting?" — he said, with a ready smile. — "And… wait. You brought backup today, Si Eun?"
Si Eun sighed and looked up.
— "This is my sister."
Baku’s eyes widened briefly, then he smiled as if that had been the whole point of the visit — which, in fact, it was.
— "Ah, finally. The famous sister. Nice to meet you. We’re his friends… at least when he lets us be."
— "That happens?" — you asked, lightly.
— "Rarely" — Baku replied, laughing. — "But we get used to it."
— "Don’t exaggerate" — muttered Si Eun, returning to his typing.
Go Tak was the next to approach, wearing a polite smile.
— "Can we sit?"
You looked at Si Eun, who hesitated for a second before nodding. The three of them pulled up chairs and sat around the table. Baku made himself at home, while Jun Tae stayed more reserved, fidgeting with his glass of water.
— "Nice café" — Go Tak commented, looking around. — "You guys come here often?"
— "Ever since we moved" — you replied. — "It’s one of the few places he can actually study in peace."
— "Makes sense" — Jun Tae said softly. — "It feels… calm here."
— "Until we showed up" — Baku added, laughing. — "We have that talent."
You chuckled, even without meaning to. His natural ease was contagious.
— "So… what’s it like having Si Eun as a brother?" — Baku asked, leaning on the table. — "Does he make you wake up at five in the morning to study? Or just lock himself in his room pretending no one else exists?"
— "He doesn’t pretend" — you answered, and Si Eun slowly turned his face toward you. — "He actually acts like no one else exists."
— "Exactly what I imagined"— Baku said, satisfied. — "He’s a real challenge."
— "And you guys don’t help at all" — Si Eun replied, without changing his tone.
Go Tak gave a low chuckle.
— "But that’s why we work. He pulls us upward. And we drag him into real life every now and then."
Jun Tae nodded in agreement.
— "If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have… changed."
A brief silence followed. You realized that despite all the teasing, there was a genuine connection there. They weren’t just classmates. This was real friendship.
— "And you?" — Go Tak asked, looking at you. — "What do you think of our little “gang”?"
You rested your elbows on the table, looking at the three of them.
— Very different from what I imagined. But I think that’s a good thing. You can tell you care about him, even if you’re… unpredictable.
— "I like unpredictable" — Baku said. — "Very polite of you. Most people say troublemakers or scary."
— "Sometimes they say unbearable "— added Si Eun.
— "Oh, that one’s pure affection — Go Tak joked." — "You don’t really know Si Eun until you’ve heard him calmly insult you."
The afternoon slipped by without anyone noticing. The conversation flowed, from silly jokes to school stories. Even Si Eun eventually closed his laptop and joined in here and there. The boys looked comfortable, as if this were just another ordinary Saturday among friends. And in a way, it was.
There were no plans to go elsewhere. No one stood up in a hurry. They stayed until late afternoon, when the sky started to darken and Mr. Jang began turning off the machines, signaling it was time to head home.
You said goodbye to them naturally, as if they had been part of your routine for much longer.
On the way back, you looked at Si Eun.
— "They’re different… but they’re good for you."
— "Yeah" — he replied after a few seconds. — "Even if they’re too loud."
You stayed quiet for a moment, watching him walk beside you. It was hard to know what went on in his head, but that day, it was clear he felt at ease.
— "You trust them, don’t you?"
— "I do."
— "And can I trust them too?"
He turned slightly, calmly looking at you.
— "If you want to."
hat was enough.
The evening breeze touched your face, and the sound of footsteps echoed on the nearly empty sidewalk. For the first time in a long while, you felt like you understood your brother’s world a bit better.A world full of silences, dry wit… but also honest bonds.
And now, you were part of it too.
Note: 🌸This part didn't turn out exactly how I wanted — I rewrote it several times and the result ended up being different than I imagined. Still, I hope it made sense to you. This is probably the last part of this story. Thank you very much to those who read this far!

fantasy AU x lookism
previous parts 1 2 3
starring ; Ma Taesoo, Vasco (separately)
author's note ; this supposed to be part of halloween special, but i fucked up with deadlines... just a little...🥹 also i planned to add ji gongseop, and i got an idea which fantasy creature he can be, but i haven't any ideas for scenario and wanted to post this one too badly....
tw ; kinda possessive in Taesoo part 🤔
Ma Taesoo — gladiator

the roar of the coliseum was deafening, but Taesoo heard none of it.
he stood in the center of the bloodstained sands, the glint of his sword dulled by crimson, his chest heaving with exertion. another victory. another step closer to his so-called freedom.
but the only thing that mattered was you.
seated high above, in the imperial box, you sat like a vision, untouched by the filth of this brutal world. draped in the finest white silks, fabric so sheer it seemed woven from moonlight, empire’s finest import from the farthest reaches of the world. you were a ghost among men — a creature of purity in a pit of savagery.
you sat close to your brother, the general. delicate fingers holding a single stalk of lavender to your nose, warding off the stench of the arena.
Taesoo had seen it before — the way nobles recoiled from the stench of sweat and death that clung to the air like a curse. the scent of the underground pits where fighters lived, where the wet, rotting musk of decay mixed with iron and blood, the stale breath of men who had long forgotten what it meant to be clean. he understood it. the gap between you.
you lived in a world of polished marble, of silken sheets and golden goblets. he was nothing more than a beast in a cage, a spectacle of violence for the amusement of empire. a wild dog meant to kill and bleed and die on command.
and yet, you always were there. watching.
always dressed in white — the sheer silk clung to your when the summer heat rose, the golden cuffs on ypur wrists glinting in the sunlight, your hair pinned with delicate ornaments befitting your status.
at night the pits were quiet and the only sound was the distant echoes of dying torches. the air was thick with the heavy breath of exhausted men, the metallic tang of rusting chains, the faint murmur of prayers whispered in the dark. Taesoo lay on his cot, staring at the cracks in the ceiling, the cold light of the moon spilling through iron grates. his body ached, fresh wounds burning against his bruised skin, but the pain didn’t matter. pain had never mattered.
not when his mind was filled with you.
you was always there, just out of reach — an untouchable phantom, wrapped in white silk that clung to your delicate frame in the city heat. you sat above him, behind veils of power and privilege, your scent of lavender and something sweeter lingering in the air, something he had never been close enough to truly breathe in.
and yet, he wanted.
at first, his thoughts of you were gentle. Taesoo imagined the softness of your voice, whispering his name in quiet reverence. he imagined your small hand reaching for him, offering something impossible — tenderness, understanding, mercy.
but the deeper he sank into his thoughts, the more it rotted.
he saw himself standing before you, unshackled, unchained. no guards, no nobles, no rules. just the two of you in a room of flickering candlelight and heady silence.
would you tremble if he stepped closer? would you try to run?
would you cry?
he imagined your wrists in his hands, fragile things, pulse racing under his fingers as he held you still. would you gasp, fight, plead? or would you whisper his name, breathless, overwhelmed, yielding?
a low, guttural sound escaped his throat, and he turned onto his side, eyes squeezing shut. it was madness. a sickness he had no cure for.
but the worst part?
he liked it...
the sun was relentless, beating down upon the arena, turning the sand into fire beneath Taesoo’s feet. blood soaked into the ground, staining it darker with each passing drop.
swords clashed, bodies fell, and now only two remained.
Taesoo stood tall, his chest rising and falling with slow, measured breaths. his grip on his sword was firm, unwavering. he was stronger. bigger. deadlier. the fight was already over. and the warrior before him knew it too.
boy before him was young, barely a man, panting through split lips, barely able to keep his sword raised.
Taesoo had fought a hundred like him.
this one was not meant to survive.
the crowd roared for blood, some voices breaking through the chaos, screaming for death. others begged for mercy, pleading for the young warrior’s life.
you sat in your usual place — left of your brother, close to the high officials, where power resided.
you sat with your back impossibly straight, your hand was raised to your face, fingers curled around that same stalk of lavender, shielding yourself from the stench of death. and yet, despite it all, you looked at him. not the way the others did, not with amusement or sadistic pleasure or boredom, but with something else. something he didn’t dare name.
Taesoo lifted his sword, pressing the blade’s edge against the boy’s throat.
he should have finished it. it would have taken no effort at all.
and yet, Taesoo hesitated.
not out of pity. not out of weakness. but because he wanted permission.
your permission.
his eyes locked onto yours, unwavering, unreadable. his blade didn't waver, nor did his stance, but the question hung heavy in the air between you.
'what is your decision, my lady?'
he watched as you turned sharply, grabbing your brother’s hand, nails digging into his forearm.
“Dagyeom, i beg you…”
your voice didn't reach Taesoo, but he read your lips with precision. begging. pleading. not for yourself — but for the boy.
your fingers tightened around brother's wrist, your wide, desperate eyes darting between him and the Emperor. Taesoo knew you were risking your position. you were not meant to question. you were not meant to interfere. and yet, here you were, openly choosing mercy over the spectacle of death.
your brother let out a heavy sigh. mischievous grin.
he turned his head, exchanged a glance with the Emperor. another bored chuckle. a condescending imperial glance in your direction. it's just another life. Dagyeom knew perfectly well that the Emperor had a soft spot for his sister.
then, a single, bored motion.
a finger raised.
mercy.
Taesoo’s grip loosened, his blade lowering, the tension bleeding from his shoulders.
and above, in the imperial balcony, your lips parted in silent relief.
he had won countless battles. had bathed in blood, had broken men, had earned the title of a champion.
but this was the first time a victory felt real.
Vasco — shark hybrid

the ocean was vast, a never-ending expanse of blue that stretched beyond sight. schools of fish darted between coral formations, their shimmering scales catching the dappled sunlight that filtered through the waves. among the reefs, Vasco and his pack moved through the water with effortless power and grace. their bodies were built for the ocean — powerful, streamlined, and fast. gray fins jutted from their backs, sharp-edged and sleek, cutting through the water like blades. smaller, more flexible fins adorned their elbows and sides, aiding in swift, precise movements, for both speed and control their sleek forms slicing through the currents.
as shark hybrids, other sea creatures avoided them, and for good reason. most hybrids had a reputation for being territorial, picking fights, and asserting dominance wherever they swam.
but many of his breed, and Vasco himself were different. he know a lot of good guys!
Vasco wasn’t driven by senseless violence or the need to strike fear. he was curious, filled with an unstoppable determination to understand the world around him. and at that moment, his world narrowed to a single figure among the reef.
it started with color, something bright flickering near the coral, weaving through the coral in soft, fluid movements. at first, he thought it was just fish, maybe some rare ones he hadn't seen before. but when he looked closer, really looked, his chest tightened in quiet wonder.
your tail shimmered in the dappled sunlight, gliding effortlessly through the water. it was long, delicate, with few additional fins, it stretched along your body and tail like the finest silk... nothing like the strong, sharp fins of his kind. mermaids weren’t built for chasing or hunting — you were something else entirely, something mesmerizing.
Vasco had never seen someone so effortlessly beautiful, so serene in the water, and he found himself slowing down to watch.
he had heard of your kind before, stories whispered among his tribesman. mermaids were elusive, soft creatures that stayed near the shallows, away from the deep waters, where predators roamed.
he watched, fascinated, as you and your friends floated near the coral, your voices carrying like soft ripples under the water. you were talking, laughing, completely unaware of him and his pack at first. Vasco tilted his head, eyes wide, taking in how different you all were — your tails flicking gently in the water, your delicate fingers brushing against the reef, when you were looking at something in corals.
yours was the first he noticed. your tail shimmered like liquid silk, soft and smooth, its scales catching the sunlight that filtered through the waves. each shift of your body sent ripples of color cascading through it — hints of pearlescent blues and soft iridescent pinks blending seamlessly with the water around you. it was nothing like his own rough, battle-worn form.
he wanted to come closer.
his tail moved without thinking, just a little, just enough to shorten the distance between you. he wasn’t sure what to do — maybe he should say hi? maybe mermaids liked to be nudged like sharks hybrids usually did? he didn’t know, but he wanted to find out.
but then, you saw him.
and everything shifted in an instant.
your eyes went wide, your whole body tensing as if you had seen something dangerous. your friends gasped, gripping your wrist, their tails flicking wildly as all of you darted away, disappearing behind the reef with a flurry of bubbles.
Vasco stopped, confused.
why were you swimming away? he hadn’t done anything. he had barely even moved.
he watched helplessly as you disappeared into the blue, your colors fading like a dream slipping away.
Vasco blinked, his broad shoulders slumped down and eyes filled with sadness. he turned to Bumjae, one of his packmates, his best friend, who swam up beside him with a knowing smirk.
“guess we scared them off,” Bumjae chuckled, flicking his tail idly.
“but… we didn’t even do anything.” Vasco furrowed his brows, his sharp teeth pressing together in frustration. “why did they swim away?”
Bumjae shrugged. “mermaids don’t usually stick around when they see other hybrids. it’s kinda normal.”
Vasco frowned, his gaze dropping to his hands, to his broad chest, to the dark fins cutting through the water.
“but we weren’t attacking them.” Vasco’s tail flicked behind him, his mind racing. he replayed the look of fear on your face, the way you fled so quickly — like you thought he was a threat.
he had never thought of himself as scary before. strong, sure. big, yeah. but scary?
maybe mermaids were just… shy?
Bumjae was already leading the pack away, their figures blending back into the depths of the ocean, but Vasco hesitated for a moment longer. his gaze lingered on the reef where you had vanished.
he had never seen anything like you before.
with one last glance, Vasco turned and swam away, but you never left his mind.
you will meet once again, right?...
