“Seriously, baby,” you whisper to the non-existent bump under your sweater, “Please take it easy, will you? I’m really struggling here, and you’re not making things easy for me. Trust me, it would be too soon for everyone to find out about you. At least wait until we can find a clue about your Dad, okay?”
As if the baby inside you is listening, even if it is still barely a fetus at this point, your body grows calmer and the nausea slowly wanes.
“Thank you, baby,” you whisper to your stomach once again before finally focusing on the stove and the oven, deliberately taking your time with what you do just so you can have a reason not to join the dramatic reunion happening right this minute.
From this side of the kitchen, the front door isn’t completely visible. But you can hear everything as the door opens and your stepfather joyfully welcomes his daughter.
Hearing his voice makes you smile. You may have had a tumultuous relationship with your stepsister, but the same cannot be said with your stepfather. Cliff has always been a great role model, and your relationship with him has always been great from the start.
It makes you feel guilty when you think about the previous encounters where you and your stepsister simply gave each other cold shoulders or when you were met with altercations just because of how different the two of you are. But there is no helping it. Nothing has changed over the years no matter how hard you tried. Not even once you have become adults.
You can’t even remember how it first started. And frankly, you no longer care. Last year’s incident was already enough to let you know that the sisterhood that your parents have been forcing you into was beyond saving.
The voices coming from the front door continue for a moment longer. This time, you get to hear your mother’s voice joining in the conversation and Alia's soft voice answering her questions. You make no effort to listen to what they are saying and tune out their voices, until your mother’s voice calls out to you.
“______, your sister is here. Come and say hi.”
Your mother’s words make you stop. Slowly, you turn down the heat on the stove and turn to make your way towards the front door to join the family reunion.
“It’s stepsister,” you mutter under your breath as you drag your feet, taking your sweet time while you try to compose yourself before having to face the unwanted guests.
As you turn around the corner, merely moments before the front door finally comes into view, you get to hear another voice speaking. The voice that you couldn’t clearly hear from the kitchen while you were tuning their conversation out.
“I’m sorry for intruding. But thank you for having me here.”
That voice.
You immediately come to a halt. An uneasy feeling runs through your body when you realise that you recognise this voice and have grown to know it quite well.
There is no mistaking it. You may not have gotten his full name on the night you met, and his face has somewhat become a faint mirage in your dreams at night whenever you are taken back to the night of your hookup.
But you cannot say the same about his voice.
That deep and gentle voice will always be engraved in your memory. Even now, the only thing you would need to do is close your eyes and listen, and allow the voice to take you back to that specific night once more, where he used this voice to say sinful words that you could feel caressing your fragile heart while he was bringing you to the peak of pleasure.
And now you are hearing that voice here, at your home, idly chatting with your mother by the front door.
“_______, are you coming?” your mother calls again, and you know that there is no avoiding it. You have to face reality, even if that means you must come face to face with the man who is responsible for placing you in this situation.
Tamping down the rush of nerves going through your body, you slowly march ahead. Bracing yourself as you turn around the corner and enter the living room where everyone is currently gathering in.
Your eyes fall on your stepsister first.
Alia has always looked so vibrant and beautiful, drawing all kinds of attention from everyone in the room when she is present. Yet when you look at her now, there seems to be a new kind of light emerging from her. Even her smile seems brighter as she chats along with your stepfather.
And you soon realise the reason why she is shining brightly today as you turn your gaze to look at the person standing beside her. To finally see him.
He looks just like how you remember him. Tall and lean, with his arms and chest filling up his sweater. He has his hair falling over a part of his face, just enough of a mess that seems as if he has been running his fingers through the wavy strands. As he converses with your mother, he shows his boxy grin that seems familiar to your eyes.
Too familiar.
Because it looks just the same as the wide grin that was teasing and flirting with you on one eventful night at the transit hotel weeks ago.
No. That can’t be.
The baby’s daddy is here. The man who you were planning to look for once you return to the city.
He is here, today, appearing at the front door of your parents’ home together with your stepsister. His long fingers that had once entangled between the strands of your hair are now entwined with your stepsister’s dainty fingers. And there is no mistaking the matching couple rings that are glowing under the sunlight coming from their entwined hands.
Before you get the chance to process what is happening, you hear him introducing himself to your stepfather, “It’s good to see you, Sir. My name is Taehyung.”
No.
You stifle a gasp. It feels like you have been sucker-punched right in the chest that you can barely breathe.
Taehyung, you wonder. Tae?
All of a sudden, you feel as if the ground beneath your feet is spinning. And since you seem to have lost the ability to move your feet, the only thing you can do to stop yourself from falling is to clench your hands tightly by your side. Tight enough to feel pain as your nails are sinking into your palms, convincing you that this is not a dream.
Yet you are still in denial as you watch the interaction happening right before your eyes. Because there is no way this is happening. There is no possible way that it is truly him.
Please. Please don’t let it be him.
It must have been your mind playing tricks on you. Because there is no way that he is here. Not as your stepsister’s new boyfriend.
This must be a mistake. Yes, you are probably confused and all the thoughts of finding your baby daddy are messing up with your head, forcing you to believe that your stepsister’s new boyfriend is your mysterious baby daddy. The fact that they have the same name must have been pure coincidence.
For once in your life, you don’t want to be right. You have to be wrong.
Please tell me that it’s not him.
Just then, as if life was listening to your prayers, as if life has yet to have enough of its games to play around with your heart, the man turns his gaze away from your parents. And those pretty eyes land on you.
As if there is a switch turned, the brightness in his gaze fades. His beautiful eyes are filled with recognition. It is so subtle that you are quite sure that nobody else around you notices it, but it is enough to let you know that your memories have been right all along.
Because those are the same eyes that you saw looking back at you with pure lust and sin while he was bringing you wanton pleasure, when you made love as if both of you had been under a spell, right on the very night that may have changed your fate forever.
Fuck.
Me.

Part 28. Checkmate.
"I'm going to meet up with Suyong and come right back home." - You told Jungkook into the phone. You were walking through a shopping center in downtown Itaewon.
"Okay." - He said with a heavy sigh. "So what did the doctor tell you?" - Jungkook asked. His tone made you sad. He was tired and you could hear it in his voice. You pursed your lips and answered after a moment.
"Everything is fine, it's the fifth week and the fetus is already visible. She even took pictures for me. I'll show you today." - You said to cheer him up, and it seemed to work.
"Really? Can you see it already?" - His voice became softer.
"Yes, love." - You replied gently. You stopped in front of the entrance to the cafe where you had planned to meet Ji Sung. You glanced around the tables and easily found him sitting at one of them. He was already here, and you were late. "Are you okay?" - You asked, turning your back on the entrance to the cafe.
"Yeah..." - He drawled. "I'm just a little fucked up. But otherwise, I'm fine. I want to come to you." - He said. You smiled.
"I want you to be with me too. Will you be able to come early today?" - You asked hopefully.
"I don't think so, baby. There's a lot of work at the office." - He replies with regret. You exhale sadly into the phone.
"When will you be at home ? Around twelve again?" - You sound disappointed.
"Yeah, maybe even later." - He says. You hear the rhythmic ticking of the turn signals coming from the phone.
"Baby, I'm already at the parking lot. If you don't feel well, call me and I'll come pick you up." - Jungkook offers. "And please don't stay there too long, go home and get some rest."
"I'm already feeling not well, are you coming?" - You joke, smiling through your sadness.
"You feel bad?" - Jungkook asks seriously. You can hear the worry in his voice.
"Yes, I feel bad that you work so much and I don't see you all the time. So tell everyone that your girlfriend is pregnant and you have to be there for her." - You sing into the phone. Jungkook laughs. Only now he realize you were joking.
"I won't tell anyone about it. The less they know, the better they'll sleep at night." - Jungkook replies.
"So you really didn't tell anyone? Not even Jimin?" - You asked and threw a worried glance over your shoulder at Ji Sung who was waiting for you.
"No. I won't tell anyone. Well, for now. Maybe I'll tell them before you give birth." - His words sounded distant to you. You will walk around with your belly, feel the kicks of the baby inside, and of course you will give birth. You still can't quite believe it.
"When will we tell our parents?" - You ask quietly. You hear Jungkook slamming the car door.
"Do you want to tell them already?" - He asks his question.
"I don't know. We have to tell them." - You answer.
"My parents will make me marry you." - He says and you realize he's smiling. Irritation stabbed inside you. You rolled your eyes, even though he couldn't see it.
"Oh, that's terrible." - Your voice was filled with irony. "Poor you, you're going to be forced to marry me..."
"I didn't say it was a bad thing." - He hummed. "It's just... they'll start making wedding plans right away."
"And what's the big deal?" - You asked, clutching the phone.
"The fact that they won't leave us alone. I don't have time for that right now, you know that, baby?" - He explained. You thought for a second.
"Kook...?" - You said his name thoughtfully.
"Hmm?" - He responded.
"And if your parents hadn't pressured you... would you have wanted to?" - You asked cautiously. He fell silent.
"You mean..." - He trailed off, and before he could finish his sentence, you interrupted him.
"Marry me?" - You clarified and felt your heart beat a little faster. There were a few seconds of silence.
"I want to be with you." - His voice became serious. "And I don't want you to think I'm only doing this because of the baby or parental pressure."
"So you don't want to?" - You asked again, not quite understanding his answer. He sighed heavily.
"Baby, don't make me say it now. I..." - You didn't understand why he didn't answer directly. Maybe it was really hard for him.
Marriage is serious, and you've never been a big fan of staying married if you have a child, but Jungkook is right, your parents think so. And they will definitely put pressure on you to get married, but Jungkook doesn't seem to want to change his lifestyle so quickly. For some reason, this upset you, even though you understood him. You bit your lip.
"Okay, forget it." - You said tensely, even though you wanted to say it more casually.
"No, I won't forget. We'll talk about it. Just not on the phone, okay?" - He asked you gently.
"Okay." - You agreed, smiling, although there was some unpleasant residue in the middle. You looked at your watch and then looked back at Ji Sung.
"Jungkook, I have to go." - You said. "Suyong is waiting for me."
"Jungkook?" - He repeated his name. "Are you mad at me?" - He asked. You looked down at the floor and didn't say anything for only a second, but it was enough for him to know that you were still upset.
"What did I say to make you think I was mad at you?" - You asked.
"I don't know..." - He mumbled into the phone. "If you'd said, 'Honey, I have to go,' or 'Love, I have to go,' I wouldn't have thought you were offended." - He was smiling, you could hear it in his tone. You reflexively smiled back.
"Oh my God... are you serious?" - You asked. "Okay, honey, I have to go. Suyong is waiting for me." - You emphasized the word "honey." Jungkook purred happily into the phone.
"That's better... But baby, I know you're thinking about something, so don't do it, okay?" - He asked.
"I'm not up to anything." - You denied, tilting your head to the side.
"You're a terrible liar." - He hummed. "I wish I could be there to hold you so you wouldn't run off into your thoughts."
Your heart sank at these words, but the residue was still there.
"It's just... you know this is serious stuff." - You said.
"I know." - Jungkook replied calmly. "And that's why I want to talk about it in person, not in between when you're in a cafe somewhere and I'm at the parking lot." - He explained. You sighed.
"Okay." - You gave up.
"Good." - He changed his tone to a warmer one. "Now, please don't think about it now, but relax and eat something tasty." - Jungkook suggested, and you did the opposite, tensing up at his words. You have to play mind games now, and it's definitely not about relaxing.
"You're like my mom." - You muttered, but smiled.
"No, I'm not, baby. I'm just a man who loves you." - He said gently. These words melted everything that was clenched inside.
"I love you too." - You replied softly.
"Go now, Suyong will probably be unhappy that you're late." - He said.
"Okay, okay. Take care of yourself, love, and please make sure you get back before I fall asleep." - You ask. Jungkook laughs.
"I'll do my best. But even if you fall asleep, I know how to wake you up." - His voice is suddenly seductive and flirtatious. You pressed your lips together.
"Don't you dare say that. Don't make me hang around all day. Don't even expect to have sex if I'm already asleep." - You complain, even though you don't mind any scenario.
"Gosh, are you so ruthless? Can you really say no to me?" - He asks. You feel a pleasant tug in the pit of your stomach. His tone alone makes you horny. And the image of him cuddling up to you in bed while you sleep and then reaching into your pants with his hands makes your legs throb.
"Yes. If you don't have time for me, why should I sacrifice my sleep?" - You ask with a challenge.
"Baby..." - His voice was low, and even through the phone, you could feel him smiling. "You know it's going to be hard for you to say no to me."
"No, I know I can do it." - You replied defiantly, clutching the phone tighter.
"Really?" - Jungkook hummed. You swallowed the lump in your throat.
"Absolutely. You won’t make it." - You squinted, trying to control the situation, but your voice trembled treacherously.
"Oh, my little liar, you have no idea how much I love it when you lie like that." - He laughs softly. You wanted to say something, but Jungkook didn't give you a chance. "Do you know what I'm going to do if I come back and find you asleep?" - He paused again, as if to mock you. "I'll kiss you on the shoulder and then on the neck... and then if you move even a little bit, I'll take that as consent." - He says with undisguised desire in his voice.
"Jungkook!" -You shouted in protest. You felt goosebumps run down your skin.
"Shhh, baby, I'm not done…" - He said, bossy. You squeezed your eyes shut, biting your lip.
"What if I don't move?" - Still, you didn't listen to him and inserted your own question, challenging him again.
"Then I'll whisper in your ear all the dirty things I'm going to do to you... until you start moving on your own." - He replied. You exhaled convulsively.
"You've got to be kidding me..." - You said, not happy that you had continued this dialog. Because you wanted him to come right now.
"I'm just telling you what's going to happen." - He was smiling, you could feel it. His voice burned you, and you realized that this day would be too long in anticipation of the night.
"Okay, you got me talking again. I'm going to hang up now." - You warn him.
"See you tonight, my love." - He said it gently, but you caught the seductive vibe he sent you. This man makes you want him with just one word. He's unbearable.
"See you tonight, my love." - You say, enchanted. He disconnected first, and you stared at the screen for a few more seconds trying to get your senses back in order. Finally, you took a deep breath and put your phone in your bag and finally headed to Ji Sung.
The cafe was open-zone a few dozen tables, minimalist design, large windows overlooking the crowded atrium. There were always a lot of people here, which made the meeting safe, which is why you had scheduled it here.
On the doorstep of the cafe, before you walked up to the table, you turned on your pen recorder. You bought it to record the conversation with the sonbe so that you could have irrefutable proof. You will go to Namjoon with this information to exchange it for Jungkook's absolute freedom.
You walked over to the table and greeted JiSung in a low-key manner. There was a single cup of coffee on the table, and it was half drunk. You sat down across from your sunbae who was watching you closely.
You put your handbag with the recorder on the table, arranging the pen in your handbag so that it would record well, and put your phone next to it with the screen up. This was so that he could see that you were not recording anything and were not hiding anything. When you finally settled down at the table, you looked into his eyes. He did not hide the terrible irritation provoked by your behavior.
"Aren't you being a little bit bold?" - He was the first to speak. "Twice you've postponed an appointment at the last minute, and now you're late for this one."
You breathed steadily so he wouldn't see your excitement. You smiled lightly, as if to ease the tension between you, but it was no match for this kind of smile. You waved your hand, calling the waiter over. The guy took your order for a cup of cappuccino with amaretto and cinnamon and left.
"I... I had something to do." - You said, trying to fake a slight smile, but it didn't come off very convincingly. You had indeed postponed the meeting twice. You needed time to find out more about Ji Sung, to know who he had become and what he was breathing.
He used to be your sunbae, and you were a freshman who admired his skill at getting information. He knew how to get away with it, always acted carefully, left no trace. But now he was not the journalist you knew. Now he was a man who wanted to use you, blackmail you with a debt and force you to dig for him.
You found some information about Ji Sung through your connections at the university, through some people who were still working in journalism and you were able to get verified and reliable information from them. You got and checked his latest contacts, publications, projects. And you studied his biography, which was freely available on one of the journalistic websites.
His career was impressive. Awards for journalism, the most resonant articles, and then at some point something changed.
His articles became more superficial. They didn't reveal deep facts, they just skimmed the surface. If you didn't know him before, you would think that he had just lost his grip. But no... It was something else. And then all the other articles were written with prejudice or fake facts, in most cases aimed at Namjoon's business or those who worked closely with him. This was what confirmed your theory that he was working for someone and for someone he wanted to get information from you.
You need to be careful to find out who it is. Some sworn enemy of Namjoon's? A businessman who lost something because of him, or is it a request from a rival clan?
You decided to join this game to be able to free Jungkook from Namjoon. If you get important information about the person who wants to stop the delivery of the uranium, because it seems that's why Ji Sung asked about the date and the transport that will be used to deliver the uranium, you can exchange it for your boyfriend's freedom.
But you need sunbae to talk. You seem to know what to say and how to behave, but anything can go wrong. Ji Sung leaned back, weighing your words. His eyes flashed predatory, and then he leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table.
"Oh, is that so?" - His voice sounded almost mocking. "Your business is more important than paying your debt? I think you're forgetting that you don't decide the course of events."
You looked into his eyes, allowing yourself a slight smile. Your gaze nervously slipped to your purse, where you had a recorder pen.
"You asked me to get the information. You of all people should know that it takes time." - The waiter brought your order, and you nodded gratefully before picking up the cup. The smell of cinnamon and almond syrup was a little relaxing, but inside you were focused, every word had to be carefully weighed. "I have the information you need." - You get down to business. You take a sip of coffee and it relaxes you a little. Ji Sung smiled-slowly, appraisingly.
"Of course you have it. Otherwise you wouldn't be sitting here." - Ji Sung says. You look at the cup of coffee. You clasped your fingers together, trying to hide the slight trembling of your hands. Inside you, excitement was pounding against your ribs, but you forced yourself to breathe steadily.
"But you don't think I'm just going to share this important information with you and leave, do you?" - You looked at him and noticed the irritation flicker across his face.
"Give me the date, time, and route of the uranium shipment. Don't waste my time." - He said a bit abruptly and you felt your plan fall apart. You knew it would be hard to get information out of someone like Ji Sung, but you had to do it.
Your brain is working at its limit, you feel tired and even a little sorry for getting yourself into this dangerous game. You take a sip of your coffee, thinking about the perfect combination of coffee and apricot-almond syrup.
"No, Ji Sung. In exchange for such important information, I want to know something." - You said, forcing yourself to speak in a steady tone. He snorted.
"Sly. But I'm not sure you have the leverage to make me talk." - Ji Sung took a sip of coffee without taking his eyes off you. You looked into his eyes and almost lost control. This damn man. How to get information out of him.
"I wasn't going to force you, we can just find a compromise." - You tried to persuade him. He remained silent. You could feel the tension on your shoulders.
"Y/N. You have to realize that this is a dangerous game. Are you sure you can play it?" - Ji Sung asks. You force yourself not to look at the bag with the recorder pen. For some reason, it gives you confidence, but you can't look at your bag too often because it will arouse suspicion.
"I don't want to play such games at all. But if I find myself involved, I have to be alert. I think it's only fair to me, because I'm not your enemy, and you're not my enemy. This is a business relationship." - You say and wait to see if he takes your bait. In fact, you are disappointed in sunbae because he used to be someone you respected, and now he disgusts you because he is using you. "Sunbae, I will not give you the information if you cooperate." - You say honestly. Ji Sung huffs, clearly unhappy with your words. He's obviously been thinking about how to deal with you, and whether to accept your terms.
"What kind of information do you have?" - Ji Sung asks. "About Uranus." - He clarifies his question.
"Screenshots from Jungkook’s phone, the date, the transportation, and the delivery location. Everything you asked for." - You say. Ji Sung looks at you, nods slowly. He hesitates for a moment and then says.
"What do you want to know?" - Sunbae finally agrees. You stop yourself from letting out a sigh of relief.
"Who are you trying to get this information for?" - You ask directly. You do your best to keep your tone even. Ji Sung's expression doesn't change, but you saw his fingers tighten their grip on the cup for a moment.
"What does it matter?" - He asks, squinting.
"I need to know who I'm risking everything for." - You insist. You rest your elbow on the table to relax your tense shoulders. Ji Sung stays silent again, and you go all-in to get him to speak. "Actually, I already know some things. For example, that all your recent articles have touched on only one area: people who are connected to Kim Namjoon's business and himself directly." - Ji Sung twitched slightly, but quickly hid it by leaning back and shrugging his shoulders.
"So what?" - He asks shortly, his voice indifferent.
"So someone paid you to write this. They chose you because your words affectes on people. So it's someone who can pay you a lot of money, otherwise you wouldn't have dig up on Namjoon himself. I know you and you are not that brave. This person has the power to protect you." - You made a logical conclusion. Ji Sung smiled tensely with a hint of irritation.
"Ran Noir is a good topic to become even more popular. What makes you think I'm working for hire?" - Sunbae did not give up. As a good journalist, he always knew how to get out of it. You leaned forward slightly, although everything inside you was tense like a tightly stretched string.
"Because you're not a fool, sunbae." - Your voice was calm, almost soft.
"And to be honest, you're too smart to just get into a war with people like that. I don't believe you're that reckless." - He sighed, looked away, irritated, and in that moment you realized that you had touched a nerve. He thought about it, even if he wanted to hide it.
"Listen, you just answered your own question. This is good material. I'm working for my own interest." - He looked at you, and you could see that he was trying to convince you of his version.
"But there's one thing." - You paused, letting the tension build. "You were touching on their business, revealing things that others were afraid to even discuss. But here's the thing..." - You leaned a little closer. "You never wrote anything that could hurt the other side."
His gaze lingered on your eyes for a moment, and you saw something like approval, but also a warning.
"The other side?" - He repeated slowly, as if stretching the words, assessing your reaction. You nodded.
"You dig up on Namjoon, but you don't say a word about those who want him to fall. Or am I wrong?" - Ji Sung laughed out loud, leaning back and taking a sip of coffee.
"You know, Y/N, you amaze me." - He set the cup down, clinking it against the saucer. "But there are some things you're better off not knowing."
"I guess you're right." - You said with a shrug. "But it's obvious to a fool that you're not playing this game alone."
His fingers tightened on the cup again, but this time he didn't look away.
"Well..." - He leaned closer, his voice dropping to an almost trusting tone. "Let's say you're right. Let's say that there is someone who asked me to dig up on Namjoon. So what?"
"I want to know who it is." - You said firmly. Ji Sung laughed, quietly, without joy.
"Why?" - Sunbae persisted.
"Because I'm wondering who else is trying to get around Namjoon besides the Black Pearl Clan." - He tenses up when he hears the name of the mafia clan. You learned about it from a crime news article when you were digging for information on sunbae.
They were connected because he was the one who wrote the article. It was from five years ago, and there was something about a mafia clan war. Sunbae wrote that the Black Pearl was the main mafia clan at the time. You subtly hinted that you already knew who it was. But you weren't one hundred percent sure it was them. Namjoon has enough enemies, but the Black Pearl is at the top of the list.
"Oh, you seem to have done a good job of research. Did you do everything like I taught you?" - He asks, trying to stall for time.
"Yes. I followed your exact plan. Isn't it ironic?" - You ask, intertwining your fingers and pointing at the table. Ji Sung laughs. You're going to get your way. You're going to play on sunbae's feelings, so you put on the most dramatic tone you can muster and say.
"Look, Ji Sung. I'll tell you why I want to know. You know that Jungkook has a debt to Namjoon. I want him to get away from him. That's why I have a vested interest in destroying Namjoon. That's why I got the information for you. I'll give it to you only when I know that these are the people who can destroy him." - You lie and sound so convincing that you would believe yourself without a doubt. "If it is the Black Pearl, I am ready to give you this information without delay." - You finish and a silence hangs between you. Ji Sung looks at you carefully and weighs whether your words can be trusted. When he is silent longer than necessary, you speak again.
"If they wipe out Ran Noir, Jungkook will easily leave their clan and become a normal person. That's my interest in this." - You say and fall silent, waiting for his answer.
"Yes. It's the Black Pearl. I work for them, and they want to intercept the shipment because it's a large amount of money. It will undermine Namjoon's authority, and they can regain the power they had over the city before Ran Noir came along."
You can barely hold back a triumphant smile that mixes with terrible nervousness. You hope that these words were recorded on a tape recorder. Your assumptions have come true, and now you hold not only an important fact but also the key to further action. You pause, allowing Ji Sung to fully realize what he has just revealed to you.
"Okay." - You say calmly, taking another sip of coffee. It's barely warm, but you don't care. "It turns out we have the same goal. And if you're really going to intercept the uranium, then my data will be useful to you."
Ji Sung looks at you with a mixture of suspicion and recognition.
"Now it's your turn to keep your word." - He says. You pick up your phone, which has been lying peacefully on the table until now, and open the prepared evidence folder. But instead of giving him everything at once, you look up and say.
"By the way, how did you find out about the uranium supply? As far as I know, only six people close to Namjoon knew about it." - You ask. Ji Sung looks from your phone to you, impatient.
"We have our ways and that's a whole other conversation. Just give me the damn information already." - Ji Sung was nervous, and it worried you. You clutched the phone to your chest and asked.
"In clan a rat?" - You ask. Ji Sung is measuring you with his eyes. He's already tired of being a coddling.
"Yes." - He says shortly. You raise your eyebrows.
"But how? No one but the six and Namjoon himself knew." - You don't understand.
"The man who did it didn't know much, he just said that Namjoon was actively negotiating for uranium supplies. But he does not know how, when and why. This information is very carefully concealed. That's why I turned to you, because you had the opportunity to learn this information directly from Jungkook." - Finally, you know something very important. The Black Pearl, Ran Noir's main rivals, want to regain their former glory and power over the mafia world by stealing Uranus from Namjoon and making a lot of money off of it. And there is a rat among the Ran Noir that hides well. Decent information in exchange for Jungkook’s freedom.
You exhale and try to keep your composure. You unlock your phone and search for the files you need.
"Before I do that, I have a small request." - You say, looking up at Sunbae. Ji Sung clenches his jaw.
"What the hell do you want yet?" - He's irritated. You lean back to defend your space.
"Promise me that you'll never touch me or Jungkook again?" - You ask him with hope in your voice, but you're already planning to go straight to Mono Corp. His eyebrows draw together slightly.
"You really think I can guarantee you anything?" - He is surprised. No, he can't, because soon he and the Black Pearl will be in trouble.
"Why not?" - You ask. Sunbae turns his head away and laughs.
"Because who knows how the card will fall?" - He asks mockingly. "But if it works out, I promise you'll never see me again... Unless you need my help, of course. You know I can't say no to my hubae under any circumstances." - He says slyly and you can feel it. But it doesn't matter.
"Fine." - You say and throw the screenshots you faked and your mind is in a frenzy. You urgently need to go to Namjoon and meet him in person, but without Jungkook knowing. Ji Sung smiles ironically, checks the message from you, and throws a few bills on the table and stands up.
"Thank you for your cooperation. But Y/N..." - He stops talking and there's something dangerous and almost hateful in his eyes. "If you set me up... If the information turns out to be false, I will destroy you." - Your insides clenched and his threats were frightening. But if you act proactively, you won't have to fear Ji Sung. You'll tell Jungkook everything anyway. You try to hold his gaze without moving. Finally, the sunbae smiles defiantly and says. "Take care of yourself, Y/N. And don't play dangerous games if you're not sure you can win." - He gives advice.
You watch him walk out of the cafe, leaving behind only the aroma of strong coffee and the taste of danger. You now have more than just information in your hands - you have the power to change everything. And you know exactly what you're going to do next.
You need to act quickly. Namjoon needs to know everything you've gotten out of Ji Sung right now. So you look up the address of Mono Corp on the Internet with trembling fingers. You order a taxi and head down to the exit. You wait downstairs.
You wrap your coat tighter, it's a light frost outside. You stand not far from the entrance to the mall and nervously stare at the icon of the car on the map of Itaewon in the Uber app.
Your thoughts are in complete chaos, and you need to think about everything you have to say to Namjoon, how to present the information correctly so that he immediately understands the threat. That's why you don't notice when someone approaches. When you hear your name called loudly, you quickly look up.
"Y/N!" - Doohoon is standing in front of you. You barely keep from jumping back. Frightened, you quickly lock your phone and put it in your purse. "Candy, what a pleasant surprise." - He says with a smile, but for some reason you notice the tension in his voice.
"Hi, Doohoon." - You say, trying to force a smile. Doohoon is the last person you want to see right now. "It's been a while." - You say casually. Your gaze falls behind his back. You are waiting for a taxi, praying that it will come as soon as possible. Doohoon snorts when he hears you say that.
"Of course it has, because you've been avoiding me." - He says. You raise your eyebrows, giving him a look of incomprehension.
"No, I'm not avoiding you..." - You want to argue, but Doohoon immediately interrupts you.
"Really? Then why don't you answer my texts and calls?" - He asks with a challenge. You freeze and look to the side, hoping to see a white Hyundai driving you to Moro Corp.
"Oh... I guess I've been a little busy. I'm actively preparing for the beginning of my studies, and I'm also writing my thesis. You know..." - You trail off when you meet Doohoon's stare, which you don't like at all. He is silent and you are silent. "What?" - You're the first to break out.
"Is it me or are you nervous?" - He asks cautiously. You smile to hide the hurricane of emotions inside you.
"Why would I be nervous, Doohoon?" - You ask rhetorically. "I'm just in a bit of a hurry."
Doohoon tilts his head slightly.
"You should get more rest, candy. You look so tired." - He says more softly. You pursed your lips and nodded your head, casting another glance behind his back.
"Yeah... I'm actually need to good study..." - You say anything to fill the silence between you. Doohoon studies you. But he's really admiring you. He's seen you for a long time and has been wanting to come to see you, but he didn't want to run into Jungkook. That’s why he didn’t comes to you. He was so passionate about destroying his ex-friend, but when he saw you, he forgot about everything.
He wanted to memorize every detail of you. Your loose hair that fell beautifully over your shoulders, your eyes that were always running and looking everywhere but at him. If only he wanted that look to belong to him. A slightly red nose from the cold, plump lips that he dreams of tasting.
You were his dream, which was shamelessly stolen from him. But very soon, the dream may become his. When Jungkook disappears from this world, you will finally belong to him. Doohoon will arrange everything so that Jungkook will be killed by those whom he considers friends.
You will see that Jungkook is mired in filth and no matter how hard you try to see him as a good person, his essence is rotten. In the end, he will be destroyed by what he was doing, because that's how people like him end up.
"You don't feel sorry for yourself, as usual." - He says softly and his voice drops. You look at him, trying not to annoyed. His gentleness irritate you.
"I have to work hard to become a good journalist." - You say. Doohoon stares again and you just want to run away. You want to check if your taxi has arrived on the app and reach into your purse. You grab your phone with frozen fingers, accidentally snagging the ultrasound picture you were going to show Jungkook tonight. It shows your baby at five weeks old. You're horrified to see the picture fall to the snow at Dohoon's feet. And before you can react, he reaches for the picture.
He picks it up and is about to give it to you, but stops halfway. His hand is outstretched and clutches your photo between his fingers. He sees it and the smile that was on his face disappears instantly.
You want to take the picture away, but Doohoon moves his hand sharply. He raises the photo to his eyes. His eyebrows come together, making his face look angry.
"Doohoon, please give it back." - You say nervously, but carefully. He is silent, staring at the picture. You walk over and want to snatch it away, but Doohoon clutches the photo, almost crushing it. He looks up at you, and you see a mixture of anger, despair, and... what seems to be disappointment.
"Are you pregnant?" - He asks quietly, almost inaudibly. You want to take the ultrasound picture back, but he holds it. You swallow nervously, your heart pounding so hard you're afraid he can hear it. Shit! He wasn't supposed to know. No one was supposed to know except your parents until you give birth.
"Doohoon, give it back!" - Your voice almost trembles, but you force yourself to sound calm. He takes a small step back, keeping his eyes on you. His fingers tighten their grip on the photo until it crumples in his hand. You raise your eyebrows and want to scold him, but he interrupts you.
"Yes, you are." - He says, stating a fact. His voice is quiet, but it sounds fierce. Your heart is beating so hard it feels like it's trying to punch through your ribcage.
"It's none of your business." - You say, pressing your lips together. Doohoon laughs - short, dry, without a trace of joy.
"None of my business?" - He looks at the photo. You step forward, holding out your hand.
"Give it back immediately!" - You say roughly.
"From him, isn't it?" - He ignores your tone and request, piercing you with his gaze. "From Jungkook." - Doohoon’s voice is filled with venom, and you don't even know how much effort he put into saying his name. You don't say anything, but it's enough for him to understand.
Doohoon looks down, his jaw tensing. He slowly turns his gaze to the ultrasound picture he's been crumpling up, and something changes in him. If it weren't for that subtle flash of pain in his eyes, you'd say he looks cold-blooded.
"This can't be true." - He say rather to yourself. Suddenly he laughs again, but this time bitterly. "You can't be pregnant by him."
You reach for the picture again, and this time he hands it over. But there is no resignation in his movement, only something like hidden rage.
"Doohoon..." - Your voice is quiet, cautious. He looks up at you.
"Do you really think you have a future with him?" - He asks, before you can say what you want to say. You open your mouth to answer, but then your taxi finally pulls up.
You glance at the car and see that it's a white Hyundai. You walk past Doohoon to make sure it's the car with the license plate that's listed on the Uber app. And it is, thank God. When you want to go back to Doohoon to tell him that you need to go, he's gone. He's gone, disappeared, leaving you with a crumpled ultrasound in your hand and a heavy feeling in your heart.
The taxi stops in front of a tall glass and concrete building that rises to the sky. Mono Corp. - the dark letters on the facade look majestic and cold, as if fencing off the company from everything that doesn't belong to your normal world. You get out of the car, adjusting your coat, and take a deep breath of frosty air. You've never been here before. You’re worried that you might run into Jungkook, who has work at the office. Your stomach clenches, but you don't have time to think. You have to meet Namjoon.
As you enter the lobby, you feel the alienating atmosphere of the place envelop you. High ceilings, marble floors, expensive furniture in a minimalist style-everything looks perfect, as if sterile. People in expensive suits pass by without paying attention to you.
You quickly approach the reception desk, where a girl with an impeccable hairstyle and a cold look is sitting.
"Good afternoon, I'm needed to have a meeting with Kim Namjoon." - You say, trying to sound confident.
The receptionist looks up at you, giving you an appraising look.
"Do you have an appointment?" - She asks, looking down at the computer screen.
"No, but it's extremely important." - You insist, leaning closer. "He absolutely needs to meeting with me." - The girl doesn't even change her expression, just sighs.
"I'm sorry, but you can't make an appointment with the chief executive officer without an appointment. You can leave a message..." - She doesn't finish because you're trying to convince her.
"It's a security issue! I can't just leave a message!" - You say desperately but firmly. The receptionist is about to open her mouth to answer when someone walks by and suddenly stops.
"What's going on here?" - You hear a low voice, which even as it asks, sounds like it's about to die of boredom. You turn your head and see Min Yoongi. The same man you met at the New Year's Eve party. He was the shadow leader of Ran Noir. You feel relieved to have met him. Perhaps he can help you arrange a meeting with Namjoon.
You bow to him and catch his surprised look. He recognized you and it was obvious. He was accompanied by either security or the personal managers. He was accompanied by two men dressed in suits. You gave them a quick glance and turned to Yongyi.
"Hello, Min Yoongi-nim, do you remember me? I'm Jungkook’s girlfriend." - You say, not seeing the girl at the reception desk give you a displeased look.
"Hello." - He says briefly. "Yes, I remember you. Why are you here?" - Yungi asks, and you hear a low, indifferent voice. "To see him?"
You exhale nervously and feel slightly nauseous. You've been stressed out so much today. Will it affect the baby?
"Oh no, Min Yoongi-nim. I need to see Kim Namjoon-nim, but they won't let me in. I have extremely important information for him." - You say, hoping that Yongi will help you. But he gives you a skeptical look and a small smile touches his lips.
"Important information?" - He asks again, raising one eyebrow. You nod, summoning all your composure to look convincing.
"Yes. It's something Kim Namjoon-nim needs to hear in person." - You say firmly. Yoongi casts a quick glance at the receptionist, who is clearly feeling uncomfortable. Then he turns his eyes back to you, his gaze becoming harder.
"What do you want to talk about?" - His voice sounds almost calculating. You are outraged by this, but can you show it openly?
"I can only tell him in person." - You swallow the lump in your throat before you finish. "I would be very grateful if you could take me to him." - You ask. The silence between you grows as thick as fog.
"Hmm..." - He sighs briefly and puts his hands in his pockets. "I wonder what it could be. Well... let's go." - He agrees. You smile happily and feel excitement in every inch of your body. You almost let out a sigh of relief when he turns around and waves you over, inviting you to follow him. The receptionist looks confused, but says nothing, just silently follows you with her eyes.
Yoongi leads you to a private elevator, and you're almost amazed at how easily he just ignores all the rules of this place. He's allowed to. He's the boss here, almost as much as Namjoon is. The elevator doors close, and you walk in all four, ascending to one of the highest floors.
There is silence between you. The men accompanying Yongi are as indifferent and unemotional as their boss. You steal a glance at the three of them in the reflected elevator car until you almost jump when you hear Yungi's low voice.
"Say what you want to talk about." - He suddenly says without looking at you. You turn your gaze to him and feel everything inside you shrink.
"It's about the Black Pearl and Uranium." - You say, clenching your hands into fists, trying to hide your anxiety.
Yungi turns his head sharply toward you and you can clearly see the surprise on his face. But you also notice the shadow of danger in his eyes. But he doesn't have time to ask you anything else, because the elevator doors open and you step out into a spacious corridor decorated in dark, expensive colors. At the end of the corridor is a massive black door. You pass the desk where the secretary of the head of Mono Corp. is sitting.
"She's with me." - He tells the girl and doesn't even look at her. You follow him, bowing quickly. His guards or managers stay behind, not going any further with you. Yungi doesn't knock on the door. He just opens it and walks in.
You follow, and your eyes immediately meet Kim Namjoon. He's sitting at a luxurious black desk, documents spread out in front of him, and his laptop emits a soft light from the screen. When his eyes meet yours, he freezes. Surprise flashes in his eyes, but he keeps it together.
Yoongi walks over to the couch and sits down, sprawled out on it.
"We have a guest, Namjoon. Did you guess that she's Jungkook’s girlfriend? I met her on the way to your place. She says she has some information about the Black Pearl and Uranium." - Yoongi finishes introducing you and you bow low.
"Greetings, Kim Namjoon-nim, my name is Y/N." - You greet the leader of the Ran Noir Clan. The office is silent. You correct yourself and see Namjoon studying you with interest. Namjoon slowly places his pen on the table and intertwines his fingers in front of him. His gaze does not leave you, evaluating, analyzing.
"Hello Y/N. Black Pearl and Uranus?" - He finally responds, his voice deep, balanced, but full of hidden tension. "Quite an interesting combination of words." - You hear the noise in your ears. You finally know the man who ruined Jungkook’s life. You have a fleeting dislike for this man, but you force yourself to speak to him calmly.
"Yes." - You say. Namjoon stirs and gets up from the table. He walks over to Yoongi's sofa and sits down in the chair that stands between the two sofas in his office. He sits down, simultaneously inviting you to sit next to him. You hesitate. All your instincts are screaming at you not to sit down, to stay on your feet, to not lose control. But you also realize that refusing could be perceived as a challenge. And you're not in a position to challenge people like Kim Namjoon.
Slowly, you sink down on the couch, trying not to let your tension show. You feel his gaze never leaving you, studying every detail-from your facial expression to the slightest movement of your hands.
Yoongi smiles slightly, pulls out his phone and indifferently scrolls through something on the screen, but you feel that he is listening intently.
"So what exactly is it that you would like to tell me?" - Namjoon asks. His low voice is calm, even friendly, but there is something sharp, almost dangerous in it. You take a deep breath.
"Kim Namjoon-nim, I have some very serious and valuable information that will save you and your company from the collapse that your competitors have prepared for you." - You say firmly, trying to sound convincing. Out of the corner of your eye, you notice Yoongi pause in one spot on the phone's feed, looking up at you. "But this information is so valuable that I want a trade. Information in exchange for something." - Namjoon's face doesn't change, but his fingers clench slightly. You can hear your nausea growing with excitement.
The silence that hangs in the office seems unbearable. Namjoon takes his time answering, looking at you intently. His fingers intertwine, his elbows rest on the armrests of his chair, and although his face remains calm, you can feel the atmosphere in the room grow heavier.
"Exchange..." - He repeats, as if savoring the word. His voice remains even, but his eyes are sharply interested. Yungi, still leaning back on the couch, clutches the phone in his hand, tilting his head thoughtfully. "And what do you want in return?" - Namjoon finally asks. You hesitate for just a moment.
"Jungkook’s freedom." - You say with confidence. Yoongi slowly raises his eyebrows, and Namjoon exhales softly through his nose. His reaction doesn't look like surprise-more like slight disappointment. It's as if he expected this, but was hoping to hear something else.
"Freedom?" - He asks again, and his voice sounds like a mockery.
"Yes." - You clench your hands tightly in your lap, forcing yourself to hold his gaze.
"You think Jungkook needs to be free?" - His question makes you freeze.
"He did a lot for you to work off a debt that wasn't his at all. He's still doing a lot for you, but you've decided that his efforts are only good enough to forgive half of the debt. "I've gotten information that's worth the entirety of his debt." - You answer, trying to sound firm.
Namjoon and Yoongi stare at you in silence. But when they look to each other, you feel even worse. Your palms are sweating and the pain in your head is starting to feel.
"He doesn't have to stay here." - You keep insisting when you don't get an answer to your request. "You can find other people to do your business, but he..."
"But he's what?" - Finally asked Namjoon. He leans forward, and his tone changes-it's colder now, almost harsh. "He wants to leave? Did he ask you to?" - You stop talking. Namjoon smiles, and it sends a chill down your spine.
"No... he didn't ask..." - You say quietly and confused.
"You're so willing to take this risk without even knowing what Jungkook himself thinks about it?" - Clan leader of Ran Noir asks you.
"He's a good man who's been trapped in the wasteland. He doesn't have to do what you're telling him to do." - You answer firmly. Yoongi laughs briefly, shaking his head.
"That's interesting." - He finally puts down the phone and presses his fingers together. "She's so desperate to save him. How sweet." - You give Yoongi a quick glance and meet his black eyes, which seem to be able to look into your very soul. You're really desperate because you're doing something that if Jungkook finds out, he'll be really angry.
Namjoon doesn't laugh, he's silent, sizing you up again. Then he nods slowly.
"I'll listen to you. But if your information is not worth what you are asking for..." - His gaze becomes sharp. - "The deal is off. And then..." - He doesn't finish his sentence, but you don't need him to.
"I'm sure of what I know." - You look him straight in the eye.
"We'll find out right now." - Namjoon says and leans back. "Convince me that Jungkook is really worth this exchange."
You take a deep breath, forcing yourself to focus. If you want this deal to go through, you have to convince them of the value of your information.
"I've been threatened." - You begin in a steady voice, though your insides are cramped with memories. Yoongi narrows his eyes slightly, and Namjoon continues to stare at you without any emotion. He doesn't interrupt, letting you speak. "Ji Sung... my sunbae, a man I once trusted, works for the Black Pearl. You should know him. He was the journalist who was always digging a hole for you." - You say.
"And?" - Yoongi asks in an indifferent voice, but you can hear the tone of impatience. You watch him play with the ring on his finger.
"He found out that I was dating Jungkook, and he decided to take advantage of it." - You deliberately don't mention that you were in debt for asking for information on the Ran Noir clan, and that this was a key point of pressure on you. Your fingers clench into fists. "He demanded that I get information about the Uranium: the time, date, and route of transportation." - You finish and this time Namjoon reacts: he slowly straightens up, the look in his eyes darkening.
"And what did you do?" - He asks. His voice vibrates in your chest.
"I decided to find out why he wanted the information. If it was really valuable, I could trade it for Jungkook's freedom."
"So you decided to play your game without even realizing what you were getting into? You're either very brave or very stupid." - Yoongi asks, smiling slightly, but his voice is not amused.
"Maybe both..." - You answer casually. For a moment, you realize the seriousness of the situation and feel stupid. You have voluntarily dragged yourself into the mafia's power games. Are you really stupid? No. It's all for the sake of Jungkook, your future, and the child you're carrying. Yoongi laughs briefly, but his laugh is not warm.
"So how did you know that the Black Pearl was planning a war?" - You silently take out your phone, press the record button, and start an audio file that can be played through the app on your phone and that was recorded through the pen recorder.
Your voice and Ji Sung's voice are heard in the room, and Namjoon and Yoongi listen intently to your conversation. Yoongi reacts several times by raising his eyebrows and pretending to look "not bad." You weren't expecting him to react, because you thought this man wouldn't use his facial mimic muscles at all. But Namjoon was completely focused on the recording. Not a single muscle on his face moved. But you could see him getting angrier by the second. The audio cuts off, and the office falls silent again.
"The screenshots in question and the ones I sent him were faked by me. Jungkook doesn't know that I did it." - You quickly explain the moment about screenshots so that they don't think that Jungkook gave you free access to his phone.
Yoongi listens to you and turns to his friend.
"You see, Namjoon? They say the new generation is stupid, but this girl has brains." - You're not sure if it was a compliment, but he didn't sound angry. "She's pretty smart, did you hear the way how she had he wrapped around her finger?"
"There's a rat in my clan." - Namjoon says these words quietly, but his voice is frightening. It's not just an annoyance - it's a death threat. You hold your breath as you see his fingers clench slightly and his gaze turn as cold as ice.
"And it's not Jungkook like you thought." - Yoongi says, and your breath stops in the middle of your throat. What do you mean? He thought Jungkook was a rat, but why?
"Why did you think Jungkook was a rat?" - You ask in a shaky voice. Namjoon turns his gaze to you and you feel like you're being nailed to the wall. He doesn't answer because just then, Jungkook walks into his office. He bows to greet his bosses, and when he looks up, he sees you. His eyes widen and he's angry, very angry.
Jungkook stands in the doorway, his dark eyes staring directly at you. His jaw is tense and his nostrils flare slightly, giving away how angry he is.
"What are you doing here?" - His voice is low, almost threatening. You barely swallow the lump in your throat, but before you can say anything, Namjoon speaks.
"Your girlfriend is a your worthy match, Jungkook-ah. She brought us some very interesting information." - His voice is calm, but his eyes are cold. "She warned us that the Black Pearl is trying to take over Uranium." - Jungkook's eyebrows raise. He looks from you to Namjoon and then to Yoongi.
"The Black Pearl wants to intercept the Uranium?" - He slowly steps away from the door, taking a few steps forward. He looks at you angrily again. "Y/N..." - He calls to you with a threat in his voice. You lower your eyes.
God, what are to do?
"She twisted everything he knew out of her old friend. Even though he was threatening her all the time." - Yoongi adds with a smirk. "Very clever, and even professionally done, I'd say." - You hear Yoongi's praise again.
"Threatened?...You mean you..." - Jungkook stops beside you, towering over you. You look up at him and regret doing that. Jungkook has never looked so angry at you before. "What the hell you doing?" - He asks sharply.
"I did it for you." - You answer, clearing your throat.
"For me?!" - He takes another step forward, almost hovering over you. "You have no idea what you're getting yourself into!"
"But you have?" - You stand up with your eyebrows raised. Jungkook is within touching distance, but there are sparks between you. "You think I could sit back and wait for you to finish like your 'clients'?"
"Y/N, I asked you to stay out of it. I asked you to leave everything to me. Why the hell are you do what you want?" - Jungkook asks you. You snarl.
"Because you didn't do anything. You've been feeding me false hopes, as usual." - You say angrily.
"ENOUGH!" - Namjoon's voice cuts you off. He's calm again, but this calm tone is chilling to the bone. Yoongi, who is chronically indifferent to everything, is watching the performance before his eyes with glee. It hasn't been this much fun in a long time. "I think you should watch this before you yell at your girlfriend." - Namjoon says, throwing an envelope on the table. "That's why I called you here."
Jungkook looks at Namjoon and then takes the documents from his hands. You see his expression change. He frowns as he flips through the pages and then clenches his jaw.
"Shit..." - He says, closing his eyes for a second. He thinks back to that meeting in Suwon. No wonder the man seemed strange to him. Because he was busy working on the uranium supply, Hoby-hyung never got the information he asked for. Opening his eyes, Jungkook gives you a brief glance and then walks away. "What is it?"
"Apparently, evidence of your collaboration with Gyuwon and the sale of weapons to the Black Pearl." - Namjoon again speaks completely calmly, but his eyes burn with rage.
"Namjoon, I..." - Jungkook sounds desperate. "I didn't do it. I was set up." - You stare at Jungkook in horror, and you think you're going to go crazy with worry. Is this Doohoon's doing again?
"How could he not?" - Namjoon asks, relaxing in his chair. "The money were transferred through our offshore company, which you have access to. The transportation contract has your stamp on it. A photo of you shaking hands. The evidence all speaks against your words, my friend." - Namjoon says. Jungkook is disappointedly silent. The evidence is indeed perfectly faked. Fuck, it's definitely Doohoon. He swears that if he can convince Namjoon, he'll kill Doohoon without explanation.
"I didn't do it." - Jungkook repeats firmly and confidently. Namjoon looks at Jungkook for a few long seconds and then turns his eyes to you.
"What Y/N, do you think Jungkook could have betrayed me? You know him well, you've been friends since childhood. Tell me, does he have that kind of character?" - Namjoon asks you, smiling at the corner of his mouth. You want to say something, but Jungkook stands between you and Namjoon in a defensive posture. You stand there in silence, afraid to even breathe.
"Namjoon." - You hear Jungkook’s voice, which doesn't seem to belong to him. "Let me send Y/N home, she doesn't need to be here anymore. Then I'll come back and we'll have a normal conversation." - Jungkook asks.
"What if you run away?" - Namjoon asks without emotion.
"I won't run away. Because I didn't cheat on you. And I can prove it." - Jungkook assures him. Namjoon doesn't answer. He looks at his subordinate and then at you. He gets up from his chair and says.
"You have 20 minutes. If you are even a minute late, consider yourself in a very difficult situation." - Namjoon says seriously and goes to his desk.
Jungkook grabs your elbow and pulls you toward the door. He pushes you out the door.
"Follow me." - You hear Jungkook's angry voice next to you. You give his figure a glance and then hurry after him. He's walking fast and you can barely keep up.
"Jungkook..." - You call out to him. But he doesn't stop. He just throws it over his shoulder.
"Shut up." - You stop for a moment, startled by his rudeness, and then continue walking. You understand his anger, but he should have understood you. Jungkook walks down a long corridor and then stops at the door of some office. He pushes the door open and enters. You follow him in and see Jimin looking at you in surprise.
"Oooh Y/N!" - Says Jimin, realizing it's you and getting up to approach you. "Hel..." - He wants to greet you, but Jungkook interrupts him.
"Jimin, hung, could you please come out for a few minutes? I need to talk to her." - Jungkook asks. You look at Jungkook, who has just called you "her," in indignation.
"What's wrong?" - Jimin asks. He instantly becomes agitated. Jungkook doesn't turn around. He stands right where he was.
"Please, Jimin, I'll explain everything to you later." - Jimin looks between you two, worried.
"Okay, but keep it together." - Jungkook asks. He sends you a smile of support. You barely manage a small smile in return.
When the door closes behind Jimin, Jungkook be silent. The silence weighs on you. You want to go over to Jungkook, but he suddenly turns to you, angry and tense. You freeze in place.
"What the hell are you doing?" - He asks. "What were you thinking when you came here?!" - You were only thinking about how to save Jungkook, and you seem to have succeeded. But the whole thing with the forged documents, you're nervous about that.
"Jungkook... I..." - You want to find the right words, but they're not coming out of your mouth.
"Why the fuck didn't you say anything when some dick threatened you?" - Jungkook raises his voice and you flinch.
"Kook..." - You call him softly, but it doesn't work on him. He doesn't change his expression. "I tried to save you. I should have done something for you..." - Jungkook comes closer to you. He comes close, covering the entire space, and you are stuck between him and the wall. You look up at him.
"Why don't you listen to me?" - He asks in a low voice. And this voice is full of danger and irritation. "Do you have any fucking idea what you're getting yourself into? Don't you think about the consequences? You recorded the conversation, but what if that asshole noticed what you were doing? Do you have any idea what he could have done?" - Jungkook asks. He looks at you carefully.
"That's why I was talking to him in the cafe. And I had recorded it on a pen-recorder, he wouldn't have noticed..." - You say quietly, studying the floor.
"It wasn't Suyong you met at the center, but that man?" - Jungkook asks coldly. You look up at him, full of guilt. Jungkook closes his eyes and keeps them closed. And when he opens them, you can feel that he's on the verge.
"You..." - He starts, but suddenly hits a wall with a fist not far from your head. You close your eyes and hold back your tears. A loud sound cuts through the air, and you flinch. You have never seen him like this - so angry, so... disappointed. "Are you completely out of your mind?" - He shouts, his voice full of anger and pain. "You put yourself in danger, Y/N! You're alone, without me, without my consent, without my help! You..." - He breaks off, breathing heavily. You open your eyes and see his face. His eyes are dark as a storm.
"I was trying to save you!" - You answer, finally raising your voice. "I did it for you! For us! For the sake of our child!"
There is silence for a moment. Jungkook blinks, his jaw tensing. But instead of calming down, he only snaps even more.
"Do you really think Namjoon will let me go because of this information?" - His voice becomes almost an angry whisper. "You're so naive... You think it's that simple? That if you just find out something insignificant, they'll just let me go?!" - You clench your teeth, feeling anger and despair building inside you. The information you learned is not "insignificant". It's useful information that will help Namjoon maintain his credibility and business.
"What did you do?" - Your voice trembles with anger. "What did you do, Jungkook? Nothing! I've never seen you try to get out of this! Do you really like this life? Do you like breaking people down, begging them for money?!" - His face is distorted with anger.
"Shut up." - He says it quietly, but in a way that makes you feel like you're having trouble breathing.
"What's going to happen next, Jungkook? You're going to kill people?" - You don't stop. "I thought you wanted to end it. But you didn't even try! You seem to have decided to stay!" - He takes a step away from you, his breathing heavy.
"Y/N..." - He stutters as he says your name and looks you straight in the eye. He studies your face for a moment and then says. "Go home." - His voice is deaf, emotionless. You look at him, confused.
"Jungkook..." - You may have crossed a line. Jungkook raises his hand to stop you from continuing.
"Now." - He orders. He doesn't even look at you. He just walks past and disappears behind the door.
Twilight has fallen on the city, enveloping it in twilight and streetlights. You're sitting in a taxi, looking out the window, but you can't see anything - your vision is blurred by tears. Everything inside you hurts. Jungkook's words echo in your head, mixing with your despair and frustration. Everything was supposed to work, but it turned out to be a disaster. You were afraid of what would happen when Jungkook came home.
The driver gently pulls up outside your house.
"Thank you." - You say hoarsely to the driver, handing him the money. After getting out of the car, you take a deep breath of cool air, trying to regain your senses. But when you look up, an unpleasant chill pierces your body.
A familiar gray car is standing on the side of the road. It's a Doohoon.
You clench your teeth, feeling anger begin to intertwine with fatigue. It's him again. Not now. Damn it.
He gets out of the car, calmly shoving his hands into his pockets. His face is as flawless as ever, but there is something dark in his eyes, barely perceptible.
"What are you doing here?" - Your words sound dry, almost aggressive. He smiles.
"I've been waiting for you, just like I have my whole life." - He smiles again.
"I didn't ask you to wait for me!" - You say, sniffling.
"I don't think I need your requests." - He continues to smile and it annoys the hell out of you. You roll your eyes as you walk past him.
"Get out, Doohoon. I don't have time for you right now." - You say. But suddenly his hand grabs your wrist, forcing you to stop abruptly. You look up at him sharply.
"Let go of me!" - You hiss, trying to pull his hand away, but his grip only tightens.
"You were crying." - He says calmly, looking closely at your face. "Why?"
"It doesn’t concern you." - You reply.
"Everything that concerns you concerns me, candy." - His voice changes, and you catch something unusual in it. Something dangerous. His eyes are strange, almost crazy. And only now do you realize that he looks... different than usual. His eyes are shining with some kind of unhealthy obsession, and his jaw is clenched so tightly that it looks like he's about to smash it to pieces.
"Dooho..." - You try to be careful, but the next moment he pulls you sharply towards him, holding you tightly against the car.
"That bastard doesn't deserve you. He hurt you again..." - He says. You resist. You look around and... why? Why is there no one? Why isn't anyone coming into the entrance?
"Let go of me or I'll scream!" - You warn him. He laughs loudly and so crazily that your blood runs cold.
"If you scream, I'll cover your mouth. And not with my hand, for sure." - He threatens to kiss you, because you see him looking at your lips. You clench your hands into fists.
"You're crazy... let me go." - You say quietly.
"Yeah, I guess I am. But I don't care. I don't fucking care about anything or anyone anymore. Nothing has worked. Nothing works on that fucking Jungkook, who is the first and best everywhere. I just had to punch a hole through his golden head and my problems disappeared in the moment." - Doohoon says, and you're afraid of the hatred in his voice. "But you know what, I'm going to take you away. I'm going to take you away from him because you belong to me!" - Before you have time to realize what's happening, something cold presses against your neck. You feel a slight pain and a needle pierces your skin. Doohoon injects some kind of liquid into your neck and you almost instantly lose consciousness.
Doohoon catches you in his arms. He puts your unconscious body in the backseat and quickly gets behind the wheel because someone is pulling into the yard.
"Everything will be as it should be, my love. I'll take care of you." - Doohoon says as he starts the engine. The car takes off.
Doohoon is driving. He presses the gas pedal as the car cuts through Seoul at night. The city lights flash in the mirrors, but he barely notices them, his mind is on you. About how he holds you in his arms. About the fact that now you will never return to Jungkook.
"Where should I take you, my love?" - He mutters to himself, glancing at you in the rearview mirror. You are lying still, your face pale in the streetlights. His fingers grip the steering wheel even tighter.
First, he needs to hide you. Somewhere far away, where no one can find you. He quickly scrolls through the options in his head: an abandoned cottage in the country? No, that's too risky. A motel? Also not an option, security cameras-too many traces. But there is a place... a small house on the outskirts that belonged to his uncle. He died a few years ago, and no one shows up there. It's exactly what he needs.
Doohoon is driving across Panpho Bridge when the car suddenly rings. It's your phone. His eyes flash, and his hand reaches for your bag. He throws a quick glance at the screen “Suyong”. We need to get rid of your stuff.
Doohoon pulls over to the side of the road and turns off the engine. A tense silence hangs in the cabin as the phone continues to vibrate in his hands. Opening the door, he gets out and walks to the bridge railing. The phone is still ringing, as if begging for an answer. But instead, Doohoon takes your things out of your bag-phone, wallet, documents. Everything flies into the dark waters of the Hangan.
A quiet splash, and it's as if you never existed.
He returns to the car, looks at your unconscious body once more. For the first time in a long time, he feels calm.
"You're all mine now." - He whispers as he starts the engine. Doohoon grips the steering wheel tighter, his eyes are focused forward, but his thoughts are rushing around in his head like chess pieces on a board. He has made the move he has long dreamed of. He had calculated everything, foreseen everything.
Now Jungkook won't even know where to look for you because he'll be busy saving his own skin. His rage will be useless. And you... you'll gradually get used to a new life, a new reality in which there is no Jungkook. It's just him.
Doohoon smiles with satisfaction, feeling his heart fill with triumph. How many times has Jungkook come out on top in their unspoken competition? How many times had he made him feel insignificant? But now everything has changed. Now he was the one who put the last piece on the board.
Checkmate.
He takes one more look at your face in the rearview mirror. Sleeping, quiet, so defenseless. But now he will protect you from everything. Even if it means destroying everything in your life before him.

12 weeks - seokjin & grace
Summary: The secret of a century is finally confirmed on an October morning.
Words: 1.6K
Note: I know nothing of what goes on at a baby ultrasound, so this is based on a bit of guesswork and some Googling.
It had been hard—nearly impossible—keeping the secret of the century. Harder still when your partner was practically vibrating with excitement, ready to blurt it out to anyone who so much as glanced in his direction.
Grace had lost count of how many times she’d had to nudge Seokjin under the table or shoot him the look in group settings: eyebrows raised, jaw tight, that subtle but unmistakable “shut up before you ruin everything” expression.
And every single time, Seokjin would flash her that soft, goofy smile. The one that screamed: I have a secret and I don’t want to keep it anymore.
But they’d made a promise—to each other and to the tiny life growing inside her. As her doctor had gently advised during that first early scan, they were waiting until the twelve-week appointment to share the news. That first confirmation, when she saw the tiny bean on the screen, was enough to make her believe it was real. But this scan? This one would show a baby. A heartbeat. Arms. Legs. Movement. Life.
It wasn’t superstition. It was a precaution. After everything they had both been through, separately and together, this needed to be theirs for just a little longer. A private joy, unshaken by the noise of the world.
Seokjin had taken the waiting game in stride… or tried to. In truth, he’d been counting down the days like it was a second debut. He had a sticky note countdown on the fridge, complete with doodles and motivational quotes like “You’re doing amazing, fetus!” He had multiple reminders set on his phone, and at one point, he even updated BTS’s shared calendar with the phrase “BABY BLAST OFF” stamped across the date. Grace quickly deleted it before anyone could see.
The appointment had been booked weeks in advance at Asan Medical Center. Seokjin had done his research—poring over forums, texting quietly through his connections, asking for recommendations under fake names—wanting nothing but the best.
And, as always, Hana had pulled off a miracle. Grace’s entire schedule was cleared: no interviews, no rehearsals, no shoots, no press. A miracle in the middle of comeback prep. Somehow, she made it happen.
The rest of BTS had also been given the day off under the vague and harmless excuse of “rest and recovery.” Taehyung had booked a massage and facial. Jungkook made early tattoo plans. Yoongi disappeared into the studio without explanation. Namjoon packed up and vanished into the mountains before sunrise. No one suspected a thing.
The morning had started early, not because they had to, but because neither could sleep. Grace had wandered into the kitchen before the sun rose, barefoot, half-distractedly making toast she didn’t eat. Seokjin emerged minutes later, hoodie slung loosely over his frame, blinking at her like a sleepy puppy. He didn’t say a word, just wrapped his arms around her waist and buried his face into the crook of her neck, letting out a hum that vibrated through her back.
Now, just after 10 a.m., they were in the car and on the way. The roads were quiet, and autumn had arrived in full. Yellow leaves drifted lazily across the asphalt as Seokjin took the longer route, just for the extra minutes.
He drove one-handed, the other resting on her thigh, thumb rubbing small, even circles into the denim of her jeans. The stereo played low, some instrumental piano piece Grace couldn’t name, but had been the only thing soothing enough to make it onto the drive-to-the-scan playlist.
Every now and then, Seokjin glanced sideways, checking on her, checking that she was still breathing, still okay, still real. And every time, she’d give him a soft smile, squeezed his hand and anchored him.
Neither spoke much, but they didn’t need to.
Today, they would hear their baby’s heartbeat. Today, they would see the shape of something they’d barely dared to hope for. Not just an idea or a dream whispered in the dark. But a real, living, growing someone. The first chapter of everything that was still to come.
As Seokjin pulled into the discreet underground car park, Grace’s grip on his hand tightened. The car slowed, eased into the space. Seokjin turned the engine off and exhaled, his thumb still drawing that same, slow circle into her jeans.
“Ready?” he asked gently, turning to her. His voice was soft, but thick with emotion.
She looked at him, eyes bright with something between awe and fear. And then she smiled, small and sure. “Let’s go meet our baby.”
They walked hand in hand through the private entrance of Asan Medical Center, where they were greeted by a soft-spoken receptionist who clearly knew exactly who they were and didn’t say a single word about it.
Discretion was part of the reason they’d chosen this place. No paparazzi lurking by elevators. No excited murmurs from staff. Just quiet professionalism and calm efficiency. People here had done this a thousand times for high-profile clients who needed their private moments to stay sacred.
The elevator ride was silent. Seokjin watched the light-up numbers climb like they were ticking down to a rocket launch. Grace leaned into his shoulder, their fingers tightly laced. She could feel the tension in his posture which was normally so composed, so silly and playful, now reduced to soft breathing and nervous stillness.
When they reached the right place, a nurse guided them into a softly lit room that felt more like a spa than a medical office. Neutral tones, warm lighting, and a quiet hum of classical music playing low through ceiling speakers.
A few minutes later, the doctor entered. Grace recognised her immediately. It was the same woman who had done her early scan, calm and competent, with a reassuring smile that didn’t waver. She greeted them both with polite warmth, unfazed by who was sitting in front of her. It wasn’t about who they were in the outside world. In here, they were just another hopeful couple.
They spoke briefly about Grace’s symptoms since the last visit. “All-day sickness?” the doctor repeated sympathetically, glancing at her notes. “That’s common, especially with first pregnancies.”
Grace nodded with a sigh. “Morning sickness was a lie. This is a 24/7 party.”
“And the fatigue? Any bleeding?”
“A few nosebleeds,” Grace replied, “but nothing heavy.”
The doctor nodded, scribbling notes. “Your blood work looks good. Hormone levels are right on track. Let’s take a look and see how baby’s doing.”
Grace shifted on the exam bed, tugging up her shirt as a nurse dimmed the lights and prepared the equipment while the doctor tapped away at the keyboard for the computer and her notes. Seokjin pulled his chair closer to her side, instinctively reaching for her hand. He rubbed his thumb across her knuckles while the cold gel was applied to her belly, making her flinch with a quiet hiss.
“Try not to hold your breath,” the doctor said gently. “Breathe normally.”
The probe touched her skin, and the screen flickered to life.
For a moment, nothing.
Just grey static and grainy outlines that didn’t mean anything. Grace’s heart began to pound. Then, just as Grace was starting to panic and just as the doctor frowned as she moved the wand, there it was.
A tiny body. A flickering light. A beating heart.
The image cleared, sharpened. Little arms. A strong curve of the spine. The faintest movement, like a stretch.
“There they are,” the doctor said with a soft smile. “And everything looks perfect.”
Grace’s breath caught in her throat.
Seokjin didn’t say anything at first. Just stared at the screen, eyes wide and lips parted. Then a sound escaped him, half laugh, half sob, as his free hand reached for his face. “That’s… that’s really there,” he whispered.
On the screen, the flickering heartbeat pulsed steadily, filling the room with its quick, rhythmic thrum. Their tiny universe, living and growing inside her.
The doctor gave them a moment, quietly noting down measurements and printing a few images and let Seokjin record the sound of the heartbeat on his phone. Grace’s eyes stayed glued to the screen, memorising every angle, every detail. The shape of the head. The flutter of movement. The steady beat filled the room like a song only the three of them could hear.
“They’re measuring exactly where they should be,” the doctor said warmly. “Twelve weeks and two days. Strong heartbeat, beautiful positioning. Everything looks wonderful.”
Grace let out a breath she hadn’t even realised she was holding. Relief flooded her body, followed quickly by awe. It was real now. Not a faint line on a test, not a hopeful what-if, not a mistake. A baby. Their baby, healthy and growing and there.
She looked over at Seokjin. He was still staring at the monitor, lips parted in amazement, eyes glassy but joyful. Then, slowly, he turned to her, his expression crumpling with overwhelming love.
The doctor gently wiped away the gel, offering a towel and started turning off the equipment to give them a few moments alone. She printed out a few extra ultrasound photos before she shut off the computer and handed them over with a knowing smile. “Take your time. I’ll be back in a bit.”
Once the door clicked shut, Grace held the photos in trembling hands. Seokjin moved beside her, his arms wrapping carefully around her shoulders as they looked at the images together.
“She’s going to be just like you,” Seokjin said, completely serious.
Grace snorted softly. “You’re already calling her a girl?”
“She already has your spine,” he teased. “Strong, stubborn, probably plotting a dramatic entrance.”
Grace leaned into his shoulder, her cheek pressing against his hoodie. “Then she’s definitely ours.”
And for a moment, everything else - the world, the noise, the idol career, the comeback, the pressure - fell away. It was just the two of them sitting in a quiet clinic room in Seoul, clutching black-and-white snapshots of the future.
A future that they hadn’t planned but had always talked about. A future that they didn’t think would be happening so soon. A future that obviously wasn’t going to wait any longer.

Jungkook may have been marketed very "macho" ish in his recent solo songs/MVs but let's not forget, he has modeled CK's genderless lines. Ck promoting it that way can't be done without approval from JK's team, genderless didn't just get lost in that contract and his team didn't read the fine print. They knew it would be the concept and he agreed to be the face of that line. Not to mention his and his brother's clothing line is also genderless.
JK seems to me the type who doesn't feel the need to come out not because he doesn't want to but it's really not anyone's business, Tae seems to have a noble cause behind the need to come out. It could be freedom of expression or just living as himself.
Confessing to my fetus army mistakes: I think an early misconception I fell into was the trap of thinking Tae was a queer rainbow crusader and JK wasn't so much. I seemed to end up on the "Tae is so fruity!!!" side of Taekook that seemed to paint JK as a long suffering closet case. 🙃
Thankfully it became really clear to me quite quickly that is so not it. He's vocal in his way, the same way he's vocal about anything.
Sex positivity, gender expression and queerness are obviously seperate things but I think it's maybe rare to find someone who is supportive of one or two of those things and not the other. Considering JK has spoken about sex not being dirty and is a proponent of genderless expression, it isn't a stretch to think he might also have strong principles about support of LGBTQ+. I don't know for sure what his opinions exactly are but it's obvious he's clued in, awake, open and thoughtful about these things and not at all narrow.
(always worth pointing out that, regardless of what they turn out to be, ally or queer, the validation of their support is valuable and a safe space for me as a queer woman and I'm sure other queer army. And straight liberal-thinking army even!)
So I agree. His issue might just be one of privacy and not of ideology.
Thanks anon. Awesome thoughts. 💜

Chapter 9 - DIOCH
She remembered she was thrown somewhere before everything turned black.
When she opened her eyes. She was standing in the middle of a big land, it was empty with only the wind she could feel and the sand on her feet.
“Taehyung!!” She screamed, walked around to find him or anyone near. But no one answered. She walked and walked. Tears streaming down like a waterfall. When she realized she’s alone in the middle of nowhere. She slumped down, feeling the hot sand brushing her skin, she cried. She realized maybe she is died.
“Taehyung, I’m sorry I left you.” She whispered weakly, realizing she’s nowhere near her lover and she left the love of her life alone in that messed up world.
Until there’s a big shadow on the sand, it’s getting smaller and smaller until it changes into a beautiful woman. She couldn’t see her face, her face was blurred with the bright light around her, she was wearing a white dress, with white flowers all over her dress, she was so bright it could hurt her eyes.
“Why are you here darling?” Once she started speaking, her face was getting clearer and clearer, revealing a gorgeous woman. Her flawless skin, cherry lips, dark eyebrows with ocean eyes, like a goddess.
She only sniffed, looking confusedly at the beautiful woman.
“It’s not your time yet. Why are you here?” The beautiful woman asked again.
She only shook her head. She didn’t know why she’s stuck there, she had never died before.
The beautiful woman only smiled.
“I know what you have done before. You sacrificed for your loved one. So I’ll give you a reward. I’ll give you a chance to choose. Every human has a chance to be alive again, to reincarnate to be another creature. You know that right?”
This time she nodded. She wondered if this woman is an angel?
“Do you want to be alive again?”
She nodded. Suddenly feeling a little hope in her heart that the woman wanted to help her to live again.
“Do you want me to make you alive right now? Or do you want to wait a little bit more?”
She hesitated. Taehyung’s face appeared in her mind all of sudden.
“If I wait? How long should I wait?” She quietly asked, biting her lips in nervousness.
“A thousand Years.”
She widened her eyes. Noo… Taehyung..
“T-That Long?”
The beautiful woman smiled and nodded. “I could make you live right now, but you can’t be alive again with this body.”
She really wanted to see him again. She thought if she would reincarnate in a thousand years maybe she couldn’t meet him. Who knows if something happened to him. She’s scared and confused. But if she’s alive right now, she would leave this body. What if he couldn’t recognize her.
She’s biting her lips hard, thinking.
And finally she decided she wanted the beautiful woman to make her alive sooner even though she’s not gonna be alive with this body anymore. She couldn’t bear it if she had to wait for another year to meet him.
She glanced and traced her fingers all over her body so slowly, mesmerizing her body. Will he notice me? Will he know me?
“Don’t worry darling, I will treasure your body here. It will belong to the good soul and it will definitely become a strong and brave woman just like you.” The beautiful woman smiled.
After some time, she felt her body become so light, her feet started to fly away, the beautiful woman was lifting her soul with her power. The light started to surround her, she closed her eyes, unable to meet the bright light.
With the last voice she heard “Soon, You will meet him. “ The light buried her.
She didn’t know that being alive again meant she was reborn, starting a new life from the fetus until she grew old, which is she would forget about her previous life, forget about the love of her life, her reasons to come alive.
She woke with a gasp, a bullet of sweat on her forehead. Feeling her head in pain, she closed her eyes, clutching her chest, as if there’s a rock stuck in her chest. Making her hard to breathe.
So many memories hitting her all at once.
The whole village in Vallaga had been destroyed as an evil witch, Laurie, attacked their village and killed people as she wanted to steal Taehyung’s weapon.
Taehyung and Laurie were fighting, the thunder was blaring and the wind was raging.
“Everyone Run!” Taehyung asked the people in his town to run away, he succeeded in hiding Byul behind a big container as he stood up to fight Laurie. The people started scrambling out of the town. The whole city was a mess.
They fight so intenses, the whole village covered in dust and fire in a few buildings. It’s too foggy to see what’s happening but for sure, Byul could see Taehyung was avoiding her attack now and then. Until, Laurie finally succeeded in making Taehyung’s weapon thrown away. He was running in a flash to pick it up again, afraid she would take it, before he could make it to the thrown weapon. That's when Laurie was going to attack Taehyung and he didn’t see it, Byul came to his side and pushed taehyung aside.
“NOOOOOOO!!! BYUL!!!” It was the last thing she could hear before everything black out.
A tear slipped once the memories played in her mind ended.
Eunseo is remembered now.
Taehyung…
He was his lover.
She was byul..
A beautiful woman gave her a chance to come back to be alive again.
To meet his lover, Taehyung..
She was crying, it's too overwhelming.
Hearing her cry, Taehyung came to her room. He was so worried, he thought she was having nightmares again so he quickly rushed to her side but only got surprised when Eunseo pulled his neck and hugged him so tight.
She pulled him until he sat on the bed, sniffing on his neck as she cried harder.
“Eunseo, what's wrong..? Are you having nightmares again?” He panickly asked, worried as well.
She didn't let him see her face. She only sobbed and sobbed.
“Eunseo please tell me what's wrong?!” He’s getting impatient with the way she always pushes him off whenever she’s hurting. He wanted to pull away, forcing her to look at his eyes. But her words next make him stiffened.
“Byul..” She whispered.
Taehyung widened his eyes in surprise as he quickly pulled away and looked at her face, flushed and swollen.
“You..” He stuttered.
“I saw it, Taehyung…”
“I saw those memories..” She cried again as she looked at the frozen Taehyung.
“I'm sorry..” Her voice was cracked as she hugged him again.
Taehyung doesn't realize that he has a tear slipped out from his eyes as he nearly cried, he hugged her back.
His tears now streaming down like a waterfall.
****************************
The ship moves to Moa, Suga and Jin are still the ones who control the ships. Namjoon was checking the previous video, trying to get a more detailed location of the next weapons Louis hid.
He still had no clue the exact place where he could hide it because compared to the previous video that showed the clues for black saber, this video only showed a big footprint and the mud that he’s sure belongs in Moa. Namjoon checked the video again, now he got another clue as he could see a big tree. He stopped the video and zoomed to see clearer. And he smiled as he saw the red dot, it was shiny. He grinned. Now he knew.
On the other side of the ship. Taehyung was busy teaching Eunseo to play a game on Jungkook's computer. Meanwhile Jungkook, Jimin and J-hope were watching her play.
“Click this and that at the same time to zoom the scope and click this to shoot. You should shoot while hiding behind the tree.” Taehyung pointed at the monitor as he teached her.
“I got it. Eunseo nodded as she tried to focus more.
“Look behind! There's a shot from behind you. Quickly turn around.” J-hope suddenly shrieked, making everyone who watched the game shocked.
“Where? Where’s the enemy?” Eunseo Panicky asked. Taehyung rushed to her side, squinting his eyes at the screen to help find the hidden enemy.
“It’s from the right. Hide behind the tree!” Finally Taehyung found the enemy and pointed at him with his finger, but he was hidden behind the bush.
“I can’t see! I can’t see!”
“Don’t move, keep hiding, only move your scope.” Jungkook butt in.
“How? I can’t..”
“Let me play for you Noona.” Jungkook was about to get up and grab her gamestick, but Taehyung pushed him down.
“No Jungkook! Just let her learn.” He sternly said only to make him pout and sit again.
“Click this and this and scroll to move..” Taehyung calmly guided her.
“He’s coming! He's coming! The enemy is coming..” Jimin and J-hope were screaming as they heard the steps getting closer.
“No! No! No....” She panicky clicked the shoot button and shot randomly but luckily she shot the enemy, headshot.
The game was over in victory.
“WHAT?! I Win?” She stared at her result in disbelief.
“Yes, baby you win!” Taehyung cheers from her side.
She screamed, and stood to hug Taehyung, he laughed and ruffled her hair.
“You’re awesome.”
“Now, it’s my turn.” Jimin quickly sat down to play the next match.
Suddenly the ship was shaking. It’s like their ship had been hit. Automatically Taehyung reached Eunseo’s waist, holding her tight so she wouldn’t fall.
“What happened?!” J-hope was panicking, gripping on Jimin’s seat so tight. Jungkook glanced at the window to see what hit their ship.
There's a big ship flying next to them.
"SHIT! They trapped us." Jin mumbled but the microphone he wore made his voice louder.
"What do you mean hyung?! Who are they?!" Jimin quickly approached Namjoon in worry.
"We don't know, but they have been chasing us since an hour ago."
Everyone takes a peek at the other ships outside through the windows. There's three or more ships flying around them, left and right, above and below them. Their ship was trapped and couldn't move.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Jimin asked silently.
"We don't want to make you guys panic." Jin sighed, body slumped down on his seat as if he’s giving up.
"Now we have to face them no matter what. Stay calm and don't move from your spot."
Namjoon said as he walked to the door.
Taehyung was already hiding Eunseo behind him protectively, eyes focused on the door.
Namjoon instructed Jin to open the door. Once The door opened, the door of the other ship was open too and there's a familiar woman standing with a smirk on her beautiful face. Two guards were standing right beside her.
Namjoon almost couldn’t recognize her as she was wearing so casual clothes unless before, on their first encounter.
"I couldn't believe that my tracker here would last this long." She smirked, pulled a small chip just near the door.
"Queen.." Eunseo whispered, slightly shocked with her sudden appearance.
"I'm not dumb enough to let you guys slip out so easily from my land." The queen Leah smirked as she took a step to get into their ship.
She kept walking until she stopped right a step before Namjoon.
"And from now on, I'll be part of your team. You don’t have a choice but accept me since I can't go home and be stuck here with you." She snapped her fingers and her ship closed the door second after before all of them speeding up, leaving their ship.
Namjoon only froze at the moment. First, because he couldn’t believe he would meet her again in this short time, and two she looked absolutely gorgeous in those casual clothes.
