Yeah sometimes it happens but usually the exponent doesn't really need to be negative to fully complete a math problem.(correct me if I am completely shitting out my ass rest of the math community.) currently I can only think of scientific notation when it comes to a negative exponent. But I won't bore you meister dyscalculia.
