I think the Devo flashback really underlines a core part of Devo’s personality.

When baby Devo learns light, he pushes all the lamps past their capacity, and Guidance encourages it.

As a child, Devo’s response is very expected. He was suddenly forced into a scary situation and demanded to demonstrate a skill he’d never used before. The desire to push back against that kind of pressure is a normal reaction. Like a kid refusing to turn off all the lights in their room instead of just keeping one nightlight.

But Guidance’s response is super interesting. She doesn’t show any worry about tempering Devo. She actually smiles, tacitly approving the demonstration of overwhelming power. Not even to mention her speech to Devo before that about his strength.

It’s no wonder Devo automatically jumps to defcon 1 anytime he’s even slightly irritated. Guidance seemed to be raising him to be the magic equivalent of a nuclear bomb.

So I wanted to draw a lil' something in celebration of The Adventure Zone hitting ten years old this year! Which turned into me drawing a pretty big something featuring (almost) every player character from (almost) every campaign from these past ten years.

So here's to Adventure Zone Balance, Amnesty, Commitment, Dust, Graduation, Hootenanny, Ethersea, Dadlands, Steeplechase, Versus Dracula, and everything that's still to come!

So we all have our favorite TAZ moments, story beats or character interactions or lines of dialogue. But I'm curious, what are everyone's favorite OOC moments. Those little moments where it's just four guys playing games together. Fourth wall breaks or table talk or giving each other hard time. For me it's a tie between Griffin's "oh my god!" when he realizes that Justin is attempting to scam Garfield in episode 50, and the boys reaction to Griffin saying "And then you wake up," at the end of the first episode of Eleventh Hour.

What she did to him wasn’t manipulation. That word made it sound so hurtful, and she would never hurt her Devotion.

Guidance drabble that’s been rolling around my head for a while. I find it so interesting to try and understand how she could justify her treatment of devo to herself for so many years…
