Texas Nanotıp Kanser Merkezi'ndeki (TCCN) araştırmacılar, kanseri tedavi etmek için moleküllere dayalı aşılar yaratıyorlar. UnsplashMcGill Üniversitesi'nden araştırmacılar tarafınca kısa sürede meydana getirilen bir araştırma, metastatik kanserin vücutta iyi mi yayıldığını anlama yönünde büyük adımlar attı. Emek verme bilhassa hücre büyümesinde ve metabolizmasında rol oynayan karaciğer rejenerasyon fosfatları (PRL'ler) olarak malum proteinlerin işlevine baktı. Önceki emekler, bu proteinlerin, 300 kata kadar aşırı eksprese edildikleri metastatik kolorektal kanser de dahil olmak suretiyle bazı kanser türlerinde oldukca sayıda göründüğünü göstermiştir. PRL'lerin kanserli dokularda aşırı temsil edilmesi sebebiyle, uzun süredir kanser tedavileri için bir hedef olarak kabul edilmektedirler.Emek verme, PRL'lerin emek harcama şeklinin insan hücrelerine özgü olup olmadığını yada bu özelliklerin bulundukları birçok organizmada mevcut olup olmadığını belirlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmacılar, insanoğlu, tek hücreli organizmalar, zebra balığı ve bazı bitkiler de dahil olmak suretiyle 15 organizmada proteinleri çözümleme ettiler ve hepsinde PRL'lerin varlığını doğruladılar. Add on from a former academic advisor

(This is TX specific, but other states might have this)

If you want to save money by taking courses at a community college (or you just can’t get into a class you need because it’s full), check the common course numbering system!

So you can see that the Austin Community College course, ACCT 2301, is equal to the Texas State University course, ACC 2361.

Use it to take advantage of cheaper community college course (or courses at other universities) to transfer back to your home university!

Also, please meet with your academic advisor(s) at least once a semester to make sure everything is on track. We can usually spot issues or make suggestions to save you time and/money.

If the course doesn’t have a TCCNS equivalent, speak to your colleges advising center (I mean college as in college of science @ XYZ university). Most likely the advising center has department approval/disapproval for course equivalency. This is common for upper level & out of state courses. For example Genetics at UCLA might be approved for Genetics at U of TX, even if it doesn’t automatically come through when you transfer. Just ask your advising center and they might be able to make an override on your transcript!

If you/your family can’t afford the application fee (usually $75-100), most colleges will just let you apply for FREE!

Colleges know many students can’t afford these fees so they offer fee waivers, which are basically coupon codes you can plug into the Common App. Then your application will be free to submit.

Getting a fee waiver will be slightly different for every school on your list, but they’re pretty easy to get!

Just email the college’s undergraduate admissions office main email and ask for one. You can send an email like this::

“Dear SCHOOL admissions staff, My name is JANE DOE and I am so excited to be applying to SCHOOL this year! [Insert nice sentence if you have one about the school or their tour or info session or whatever]. However, the application fee is a financial hardship for my family this year. My father lost his job this year/ we live in public housing / My mother has been ill and we do not have extra money /I receive free lunches through my school/ the pandemic has been really hard on our family’s finances. Would it be possible to receive a fee waiver for my application? Please let me know if there is any additional information I can provide. Thank you so much for your assistance with this, I really appreciate it! Sincerely, JANE DOE”

Some schools may just say “Sure” and send you a fee waiver. Some may reply and ask for more information. Many may ask your school guidance/college counselor to send an email on your behalf confirming that the fee is a hardship for your family.

Please spread this around! This will NOT negatively impact your application in any way, this is a completely standard thing that pretty much all colleges will do! And schools KNOW this year is especially tough for students and families.
