So, I know this was kind of explored in the show, but I was thinking about it and wondering: what would it be like if something happened to the miniaturizer while someone was already mimi? This was the result.

I kind of liked the idea of Chris getting to be the protective one for a change. Poor Martin doesn't even have his CPS, so he can hardly do anything.

Looking at the Google AI overview fails, and just thinking... how the fuck did Google not realize how absolutely stupid this idea was? Even I, a 15 year old who can't even drive a car yet, has enough common sense to realize that AI using the internet as reference for it's answers is going to end horribly. The internet is a cesspool, and although there can be helpful things found on it, it's more than obvious that the AI is getting it's information from a lot of memes.

A lot of these have managed to correct their mistake, but you can see where they got their original misinformation from.

Anyways, AI is stupid, it can only really gather data and steal from other people, it doesn't have the common sense and intuition and experience that we have that helps us determine what's true and what's obviously not, it will never understand as much as us, and companies are failing us. Ok bye!!

Was in the middle of reading a fic Post when my browser forced shut down. It was about a Shen Yuan who got a different system that attached itself to a fan.

flashback to when i asked my alexa speaker which famous people have the same birthday as me (january 9th) and one of the people she listed was mf doom so i was like cool! i have the same birthday as mf doom!

So I forget if I said it but a headphone jack broke off in my tablet. Attempts to get the bit out... partially successful but the tip is still stuck in there. So the tablet has no sound. Tablet's screen is also cracked and there's a giant hole in the case on the opposite corner but otherwise the thing works fine.

Yes I'm using this thing until it is absolutely DESTROYED and unable to be fixed. Not sure how much it'd cost for repairs but I've seen how much a replacement keyboard goes for my laptop so I am very leery of shelling out whatever for repairs only to see I could've gotten a brand new one for a fraction of the price.

Skip ahead a month and I spotted bluetooth earbuds in a clearance store. I'm TERRIFIED of those kind of things falling out while I'm out because earbuds never really fit in my ears right. But $5? I'd be annoyed but unconcerned if an earbud disappears and this solves the issue of any cables fraying just under the jack.

You know, aside from regularly charging the things. And the trade-off being no tap-controls in these buds.

It took me way too long to figure out what the name to pair with was but I got it synced with the tablet.

So I was screen mirroring something on the television for my family, and when I was done I closed the tab, but forgot to stop screen mirroring. My entire immediate family saw this image in my tabs

I think I’m having a stroke guys because I was just doomscrolling and talking/reacting aloud, then my Amazon(tm) Alexa turned on, blathered about Amazon music unlimited and started playing “You’ll Be Back” from the fricking Hamilton musical like what kind of sign is this bruh 😭😭

Bad news: this is third night in a row Ive spent stripping all the bad stuff off this poor kids amazon fire tablet (kid, im sorry you got stuck with an amazon tablet in the first place) and installing good stuff.

Good news: I just discovered that if I add "google AI sucks ass" to the end of my google search string it skips all the fucked up AI stuff and I seem to be getting better search results too.

Apparently I was nervous for a reason

The gremlins are, once again, against me. The live stream completely failed (though it worked in practice). I shall take time to drive away the gremlins and update when I try again. (probably about a week).

Well, that'll teach me about using my personal email for work related things. *facepalm* (Long but entertaining post below, laugh at my misfortune with me!)

I was put in charge of creating a trivia night for the pub I bar I work at because my bosses seem to think they're teaching me about being a go-getter (read: perfect rung in a corporate ladder). My bosses are lovable cheapskates who want this done as cheap as possible. And as someone who prides herself on living below her means, I was willing to rise to the challenge.

The internet is surprisingly barren in trustworthy quiz sites that I can exploit but I manage to find one that was the least sketchy. While I'm inherently skeptical of the web address, I decide to take a quick peek around... just to see. Well, it requires an email address.

I pause. I have about four different options I could use. Two of which are for my (not yet successful) freelancing and I want to keep them this way. The other I use strictly for financial things: student loans, banking, etc. That leaves my personal email: the one attached to almost all of my social media and shopping accounts. And my frequently used Google Drive.

This wasn't a huge deal as I did it on my Mac, which has proved time and time again that it really does have superior virus protection. But the time comes that my manager needs to tackle trivia for the week as I have a prior commitment. Not thinking anything of it, I log into the account on my boss's laptop.

Now, they're old-ish. Not geriatric and they certainly have some understanding of technology but they don't have the understanding that someone raised with the internet (i.e. ME) would have.

The next morning, Google Maps (the app on my PHONE) is claiming to be the Spirit Airlines Help Desk. App immediately deleted.

Then, my Spotify email is changed. The debit card attached to the account information stolen a week later. (That email has remained untouched, thankfully. But remind me to tell you that story later as it deserves its own post.) It settles down for a little bit then this morning I receive a text. Someone has tried to sign in to my Google Account on an unrecognizable device.

I think. I haven't signed into anything new. Fuck.

I decide that it may finally be time to part with ClassicBrie19. And maybe text my boss and ask her if she's updated her virus/browser protections recently.

Now, as an astrology nerd, this happening during the shadow period of a Mercury retrograde that centers around shedding the past is INSANE to me. But looking at the past year of my life, this feels like a cycle closing almost. Just another thing I have to "lose" to move forward.

Anyway, that's enough waxing poetic about an email address. Please laugh along, laughing at the things that happen to me makes me feel less... idk crazy. Or commiserate about your technology fails.

Plagiarism checker fails

TL;DR: the professor tested his dissertation and the iThenticate checker said 74% plagiarized. It counted the book version, the bibliography, footnoted cited quotes, indented cited quotes, names, common phrases and other people quoting the work after it was published. Adjusting for those the ultimate score was zero.

Defaming slimeballs are going to attack all kinds of people, especially educators. Let's all be skeptical.
