like being obsessed with efficiency in code as i am, i am well aware that how good of a thing this is is like

really really overstated

and so despite my personal approaches and opinions and so on, i am broadly in support of not putting all that effort in because that's just a thing you should do if you're insane (i just happen to be insane)

but then i read about like, webdev where they forgot that some people have slow internet in [CURRENT YEAR] or i run a java-based textgame that makes my fans kick into high gear and think "well okay maybe one could invest a few more points into making things smaller and faster"

the graphics release ("Steam Release" or "(not) Classic Version (version)" isn't fully documented just yet, but we do know that kitfox added this to calmly inform players that their dwarves are suffering from poisoning, and that roots are useful as a curative, AND importantly that the clock is ticking.

Day One of #WaitForMeRPG, in which we are asked to leave a ten word note to our child self warning about the hardships to come. It’s an interesting introspective moment, exploring this, thinking what to say out of all the hardships (and there were many). This is what immediately came to mind. My teen years in particular were rife with unhealthy friendships. I also drew a little brown paper lunch bag, because eating lunch alone was an immense terror to face as a kid. Would this note have helped me? I don’t know. Maybe I would have been too young to fully make use of these simple words. Anyway, I know I’m only on day one, but I’m already captivated by the gameplay, involving creating a unique journal and including ephemera.
