I think ppl say that kingdom hearts is complicated because there’s a LOT of lore that most casual fans won’t follow, but will still try and fill in the blanks of. Like they’ll make assumptions based off what little knowledge they do have and then get mad when they find out they’re wrong.

I remember when I first found out that souls were theyre own thing I was like WHAT THATS SO CONFUSING because I had assumed that the heart was khs version of the soul. But then I realized that was never said! I just thought it was true and instead of accepting new information I rejected it for the incorrect info I thought I already knew.

Another reason is that kingdom hearts is. Kind of ridiculous and it revels in that absurdity! But unfortunately fandom has to have an air of jaded cynicism around it so when people hear “they made Jiminys journal into a computer world and there’s a data Sora that lives inside it” they say it doesn’t make any sense. But it makes perfect sense! It’s just weird! And isn’t that why were playing kingdom hearts in the first place?

controversial opinion but kingdom hearts isn’t actually complicated lol………… there’s just a lot of it so there’s more to remember but like. it holds ur hand pretty well imo!

Obviously I would never ACTUALLY begrudge someone who can’t handle doubles I know that that’s like a really personal thing and ppl can choose to interact or not interact with whoever they want but. Sora’s who don’t like doubles are so funny to me. There are at least 4 Soras in canon. Sora sees Roxas for the first time and he’s like “oh sorry I’m just not comfortable with doubles :/“
