It's that time of year again (< rereading old discord server drama I was in again)

OK just made this to vent abt the discord hold on:

So first of, hi,I'm Dizzy or Maze, and I have been a mod in 2 servers in total, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I start off with this bc the situation in the anon discord feels similar to one in the other discord server I moderated (not 1 to 1, but the vibes are here). I won't elaborate bc I prefer not to think about it too much tho.

Now some things that bother me:

First off, 2 ppl (systems but y know... accounts....idkhowtocallthem)who had not read htfasj joined the server (cool, awesome) then they start criticizing ppl in the server(that they almost just met... i think?)

They get promoted to the mod team (??? Whatever you can't just randomly promote ppl as mods I think???)

Restructure the server (we (egg and I) made for ppl we knew (fellow anons) ) as if it was a public genloss server???

They do that at 4am for me and 3am for egg (2/3 of the og mod team absent) and without our input (this is egg's server)

Ask egg to transfer the ownership to whatever???? THE MODS HAVE AS MUCH POWER AS THE OWNER WHY DO YOU WANT WHATEVER YO BE THE OWNER? (<- has been in servers where the owner doesn't show up anymore with no problem related to that)

Randomly bring up syscourse? And basically accuse ppl of not being systems? (As far as I know Kat didn't say they were a system but I wasn't in on the conversation (cause I was asleep, it was 3 am)

Full ugly sob, it won't be pretty, but I would be delighted. I'm having a lot of fun with this, and I'm definitely open to it.

I regrettably can not draw at all, but I can write and enjoy it, so my artistic contributions will be limited to fanfiction once we are far enough along.

Edit: If you meant commissioning art that would depend on a.) how attached I get to this project which is still early days and b.) if I get free funds to spend on something completely self-indulgent which would make it a hard *handwave* maybe? I've considered commissioning before for fanfiction and this one is fun.

Washington, lunes 4 de diciembre de 2023.- En el día de hoy, el Departamento del Tesoro de Estados Unidos anunció el lanzamiento de un Grupo Especial contra el Fentanilo con el fin de reunir los recursos y la experiencia del Departamento del Tesoro en una operación coordinada y optimizada para combatir el tráfico de fentanilo ilícito

Este Grupo Especial reúne a personal, conocimientos especializados, inteligencia y recursos de áreas clave del Departamento del Tesoro y está dirigido en forma conjunta por la Oficina de Terrorismo e Inteligencia Financiera (Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, TFI) y la Oficina de Investigación Criminal (Criminal Investigation, CI) del IRS.

“Combatir el flujo de fentanilo letal en comunidades de todo Estados Unidos es una prioridad máxima para el presidente Biden, así como para el Departamento del Tesoro”, expresó la secretaria del Tesoro, Janet L. Yellen. “El Grupo Especial contra el Fentanilo del Departamento del Tesoro nos permitirá trasladar la experiencia incomparable que tiene el Departamento en el combate a los delitos financieros para hacer frente a esta epidemia letal. El Tesoro empleará todas las herramientas de las que dispone para coartar la posibilidad de los narcotraficantes de comercializar este veneno en nuestro país”.

El Grupo Especial será presidido por el subsecretario del Tesoro para Terrorismo e Inteligencia Financiera, Brian Nelson, y por James Lee, titular de la CI,  y estará coordinado por sus respectivas áreas. Ante todo, contribuirá a que converjan los ámbitos de trabajo, el personal y los recursos de la CI, la Red Contra los Delitos Financieros (FinCEN), la Oficina de Control de Activos Extranjeros (OFAC), la Oficina de Inteligencia y Análisis (OIA) y la Oficina de Financiamiento del Terrorismo y Delitos Financieros (TFFC), pero también incorporará el trabajo que resulte necesario en todas las áreas del Departamento.

“En visitas realizadas a la frontera suroeste de EE. UU. este año, pude ver en primera persona cómo las herramientas del Tesoro marcan la diferencia en la interrupción del flujo de narcóticos ilícitos hacia Estados Unidos”, expresó el subsecretario Nelson, co-presidente del grupo. “El Grupo Especial actuará de manera rápida y decidida con los principales especialistas del Departamento para responder con agilidad a las amenazas más recientes”.

“Entablar lazos de asociación es clave para el trabajo que realizamos en Investigación Criminal del IRS, y consideramos positiva la oportunidad de colaborar con nuestros homólogos del Departamento del Tesoro para combatir el fentanilo, uno de los narcóticos más letales que asolan a nuestro país”, expresó el co-presidente y titular de la CI, Jim Lee.

“Hasta el momento, nuestro equipo ha desempeñado un papel clave en sancionar y presentar cargos penales contra personas y entidades implicadas en tráfico de fentanilo, y tenemos gran expectativa de utilizar nuestra experiencia financiera para interrumpir incluso más el flujo de fentanilo hacia Estados Unidos”.

El Grupo Especial aprovechará las competencias principales del Tesoro y su experiencia única en identificar y combatir los delitos económicos. Su misión promoverá las prioridades antinarcóticos del presidente Biden, lo que incluye atacar la cadena mundial de suministro ilícito con sanciones y otras acciones disruptivas; trabajar con México y Canadá para combatir el fentanilo ilícito a través del Diálogo Norteamericano sobre Drogas y, cuando sea posible, a través de investigaciones conjuntas; y el enlace con el sector privado para intercambiar inteligencia financiera, alertas rojas, tendencias y tipologías.

El Grupo Especial redoblará los campos de trabajo que tiene actualmente el Departamento del Tesoro, incluido el uso de inteligencia financiera para comprender los riesgos y trazar un mapa de las redes financieras de las organizaciones de criminalidad transnacional. El Departamento del Tesoro también seguirá fortaleciendo los estándares internacionales para combatir el blanqueo de capitales y ayudando a asociados a nivel global a identificar tipologías y tendencias, conforme se refleja en el informe del GAFI de 2022 sobre blanqueo de capitales procedentes del fentanilo. También promoverá el trabajo del Departamento del Tesoro con el sector privado y las fuerzas del orden, incluida la labor de colaboración continua a través de FinCEN Exchanges, que ayuda a los socios a identificar riesgos, tomar medidas disruptivas y permitir al sector privado aportar pistas e información vitales a FinCEN y a las autoridades de aplicación de la ley.

Al alinear de manera estratégica las investigaciones y consolidar información sobre componentes centrales, el Grupo Especial aumentará el impacto económico de las medidas adoptadas para desbaratar el comercio ilícito de fentanilo, como la designación de sanciones o las medidas de aplicación de la ley. El Grupo Especial hará lo siguiente:

combinar la experiencia analítica de FinCEN y de la CI con los conocimientos únicos que tiene la OIA para identificar oportunidades adicionales de desarticular nodos clave de lavado de dinero en redes de tráfico internacional de fentanilo, sobre todo aquellos que utilizan en gran medida las criptomonedas.

fortalecer la coordinación operativa entre la OFAC y la CI para mejorar las investigaciones y la represión de las instancias en las que se incumplan las sanciones contra los estupefacientes, a través de sanciones civiles o la derivación a las autoridades penales.

vincular las asociaciones respectivas de FinCEN y la CI con unidades de inteligencia financiera extranjeras a fin de identificar con mayor eficacia las redes internacionales de lavado de dinero que facilitan el movimiento de fondos en apoyo al tráfico de fentanilo; y

avanzar en el contacto de socios extranjeros a través de una coordinación más estrecha entre los agregados generales del Tesoro y de la CI.

El Grupo Especial también se asociará con las autoridades de orden público locales y federales para compartir datos financieros, inteligencia y coordinación en casos específicos, sobre todo en áreas próximas a Estados Unidos que han sido más afectadas por la epidemia de opioides.

El trabajo del Tesoro promoverá el acuerdo entre el presidente Biden y el presidente Xi del mes de noviembre que busca reanudar la cooperación bilateral en materia de lucha contra los narcóticos, con un enfoque en la reducción del flujo de precursores químicos que alimentan el fentanilo ilícito y el tráfico de drogas sintéticas.

El Departamento del Tesoro reconoce desde hace mucho tiempo la amenaza que supone el lavado de dinero relacionado con el tráfico de drogas. El Departamento es un actor de implementación clave de la Estrategia Nacional de Control de Drogas del Presidente, que identifica a la lucha contra las finanzas ilícitas como un pilar crítico para debilitar y desbaratar a las organizaciones delictivas que trafican estas drogas. Desde que el presidente Biden firmó el Decreto Ejecutivo sobre la imposición de sanciones a las personas extranjeras implicadas en comercio global de drogas ilícitas en diciembre de 2021, el Departamento del Tesoro ha impuesto casi 250 sanciones a personas y entidades involucradas en el tráfico de drogas ilícitas, con particular foco en la cadena de suministro del fentanilo ilícito.
