Class/Subclass: Swashbuckler Rogue

Background: Oh man, I forgot what his in-game one actually is (I'm 99.9% sure it wasn't actually Sailor), but he was a pirate prior to the campaign.

Gender: Cis man

Family: Rook absolutely hates the concept of family, because every single bit of his experience with it has been negative. He's the bastard son of a prominent Arborcean nobleman (a wood elf) named Lord Alistair Lockwood, who hated him for even existing. His mother (a human) was never in the picture (Rook thinks she wanted nothing to do with him, but the reality is a lot more complicated than that, given the power and wealth imbalance between his parents), and he has no interest in ever seeking her out. Not that could even if he wanted to, since he knows nothing about her. He spent most of his childhood being neglected, abused, and mocked by his father and three half-brothers, all of whom (as full elves) were decades older than him. So yeah, he fucking hates his family. He ran away at 17 and never looked back.

Birthplace: Arborcea (location in our homebrew campaign)

Job: Used to be a pirate, now he's an adventurer, but he misses being a pirate, so that's his goals for post-campaign. (He did just get given a ship and named captain, so...)

Phobias: Claustrophobic, terrified of hurting his friends against his will / not being able to prevent them from being hurt.

Guilty Pleasures: I don't know that he has any?? At least, he hasn't had the time or brain space to indulge in any kind of guilty pleasure in YEARS. As a kid/teen, it would definitely be reading adventure novels, though.

Hobbies: Another case where he hasn't had much chance to focus on anything other than his own survival and protecting his friends. He likes swimming and practicing his swordplay, though. (Thinking about the upside down waterfall scene and getting sad again.)

Morals

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral. He will do a wide range of things to achieve the outcome he wants (mostly just protecting his friends), and is no opposed to underhanded tactics. However, the one thing he will never do is torture someone, no matter what they have done. His morals are largely flexible, though, as he tends to mold himself to fit whoever is most important in his life at any give moment. He's extremely lucky that he's mostly been found by Good People. (Zara, the party)

BroTP: I'm pretty sure this means like, platonic OTP?? If yes, um, well, I gotta say Sigmar. Which is SO fucked because like, they were making each other worse, but also making each other better??? And he never even really existed, but also he was more real than Purity himself??? Platonic doesn't cover their relationship and neither does familial, but there wasn't a single gram of romantic or sexual vibes. It's been almost an irl year since the reveal and almost two since they met, and I still can't put their relationship into words.

If I want to be a little more "normal" about it, well, Jay was his only friend pre-campaign, and she's probably going to be his closest friend after the campaign, too. (That is, assuming I can successfully defeat Olvar and free Red Lotus Island and get a wish to turn her back into an elf. She's currently a bird after getting swallowed by a giant snake who was also a demigod.)

Tyra (Rook's new first mate) is also up there for closest friends after the campaign, but her and Tempest (Rook's new quartermaster) are BFFs, and no one can change that.

NoTP: In a romantic or sexual sense, also Sigmar/Purity. The idea of that relationship just icks me out SO BAD.
