This is a picture i took with my seven/eight-year-old iPhone about a month before my family thrust a new phone on me. It’s a sea lion, photo taken about five meters away (i am bad at judging distances), outdoors. It was not warped by glass or anything, just with the rattling breath of a dying phone (literally, i tried to take the audio of an interview once— my recording app was broken or deleted i dont remember— by taking a video with the camera face down on the table. It was fucking unusable. The only thing I could hear was the goddamn rattling and clicking of the camera just absolutely going nuts. A video with visual of a still scene would probably make someone with motion sickness puke)

I just got my first ever iPhone and my god it is terrible, how did they get so popular this thing is a nightmare

#this is a good display of why i refused to get a new phone for like three years #until my brother gave me one as a gift #my last one was a hand-me-down from my mom who had to do a factory reset for some reason and i started borrowing it and eventually #it just became mine #for like four out of the seven years that its been in use #the camera was basically unusable #wait let me include a photo actually its awful #ooh i love the sea lion one #incomprehensible #anyway the stupid camera was very funny but by that point i had deleted most apps on that phone because #the battery drained like one of those math problems with the pool with a hole in it #and the only thing i used it for was texting and reading fanfic on safari #it was my frail dying child #so after like two years of getting accustomed to using my phone for Basically Nothing i barely felt all of these grievances you have #i mean. i can take pictures with it now #that’s my only requirement #also i can use it in the car for more than five minutes without blanching at the fact that fifteen% of the battery just disappeared
