Let me be absolutely clear that none of the following is legitimate moral outrage at the contents of a tumblr fandom poll tournament game.

That being said this is SO fucking sad. Like I could accept 'doesn't need to be fat AND hairy' due to limited options + the notion that a character drawn hairless Could theoretically be hairy if body hair is just all-around never drawn in their source material. But there's skinny people in this poll. There's guys with six packs in this poll. I would scour shitty direct to DVD movies for fat background characters with 2 seconds of screentime before stooping myself to that indignity. How do you have the 'vibes of being a beautiful fat bear'? This isn't even like LGBT headcanons where you can at least make an argument that an unintended queer reading is viable, a character is either fat or they're not. A skinny hairless dude with a six pack is not physically/mentally/spiritually a bear. he is a skinny hairless dude with a six pack. Whatt are we doing

Carmy haters fail to realize that the entire team at The Bear would not be who they are now without him.

Carmy was the reason Marcus was able to go to Copenhagen to become a better pastry chef.

Carmy was the reason Richie went to Ever to learn the magic it takes to become the great FOH he is now, and train the rest them.

Carmy sent both Ebra and Tina to culinary school and Ebra still had a place at The Bear when he didn't complete.

Carmy is the reason Sweeps was elevated in a role and sent to sommelier training.

Carmy encourgaged Sugar to run the business side of The Bear, when she didn't think she could do it.

Carmy is the reason Sydney was able to slow down and perfect her recipes, because she was always trying to show them before they were ready.

Tell me you have never worked in food service and/or grew up in a toxic household without telling me. Everyone bitches and moans about wanting more complex characters. Yet when we are given then, you HATE them, loathe them unreasonably.

Carmy isn't my favorite, Neil is, but I empathize so strongly with Carmy. For the reasons above. When chaos is all you have known, it takes years and intention to unlearn it.

Carmy and Sydney’s fight in the alleyway is the ONLY scene that’s made me cry the entire series

C: “Syd, you don’t need me”

S: “I know I don’t need you, but that’s not the point!”

Exhibit B:

S: “You’re my partner!”

C: “I’m your friend!”

There is something about them — be it their friendship, teamwork, romantic chemistry, antagonistic passion, respect for one another, soulmate connection— whatever it is, you can’t help but root for them to be together.

The nurturer : Sydney Adamu's legacy

Before S4, I thought a lot about Sydney's legacy and the lasting impact she has on the people. I made two posts (Part 1 and Part 2) about how, at heart, she is a nurturer.

I ended my musings by asking the following question : "Will Marcus, Tina, Nat, Richie and Carmy be there for Sydney, like she has always been there for them?"

In S4, while wrestling with her decision to stay or go, Sydney STILL managed to be there for everyone in big and small ways. Sometimes with words of encouragement and a nudge in the right direction. Sometimes simply by showing up. As the Variety article said, Syd is the HEART of the Bear. She is THE BEAR!

But when she needed people, the writers failed her.

I’ll finish by saying it’s a crime that never fails to enrage me that no one went to the hospital with Syd!
