I watched the season premiere of The Last of Us last night and it was pretty good (I give it a solid 8/10), but one thing that kinda annoyed me in season one that's annoying me even more this season is people acting like recreating scenes from the source material 1:1 is grounds enough for calling an adaptation objectively good. I've played these games, I know they're good, but what is the show doing that makes the show good? There are many ways to be faithful to a source material without copy and pasting every other scene, just look at Fallout. I'm not trying to be a hater, but saying the show is good just because it's accurate gives me the same vibes as people who say a book is good just because it has gay people in it.

Farkas. Sorry to disappoint, but he and I have a history: my then friend from High School suggested I romance Farkas because she married Vilkas. So if I married him we'd be sister-in-laws. Of course I had to be SIL's with my friend!! Lo and behold he's actually a big teddy bear and overall a really good character! (We've been married for 10 years now. 👌)

Marcurio. He's nowhere near the level of adoration I have for Farkas, but for someone who complains so much he's a great traveling companion! Plus his spells have saved my hide more than once.

Razum-Dar. Okay, hear me ou- Hear. Me. Out. When I first started playing ESO about 6 months or so after launch (give or take), Raz was the first major NPC I made contact with. Don't ask me what it was; his sweet but teasing demeanor, the way he'd comfort the Vestige after any teammates died, or the voice. That damned voice. Ugh. Love him.

Prince Irnskar. Okay so when I first met the Prince, I was much closer in age to him. I'm not entirely sure what it was, maybe how close he is to his father and how protective he is, little teenage me thought he was sweet! Now I'm older and it's a little weird to think about aslakadff (for the record, according to the timeline he is exactly 18 at the start of the EP line.)

Goveled Herendas. Fam. FAM. This guy is the one who awakened a potential thing for Dark Elves in me. The way he says that ONE LINE HE HAS IN THE ENTIRE GAME made me set my controller down and contemplate my life choices.

Ritemaster Iachesis. Now normally I'm not one for High Elves buuuuut this guy?? I'd make an exception. Dude has the most velvety, dulcet tones and any time I hear him it's like a Prarie dog scouting, I look around so fast lmao. Can you tell I have a thing for husky voices hehehe~

Fennorian. Come on, as much as I write about him that should be fairly obvious, haha. He's such a sweet and caring guy, and his affinity for the supernatural and alchemy is 👌 right up my alley. (Also doesn't hurt his VA is Robbie Daymond.~)

Verandis Ravenwatch. Allllll about the voice for this guy, Jonah Scott could read a phone book and I'd be absolutely under his spell 😩👌

Bastian Hallix. If he were a real live person I'd ask for his hand in a heartbeat. My followers and mutuals know how I feel about him. Not to mention his VA is the same age as me---

Vole. Fam your guess is as good as mine as to what in god's good earth made me like this little weasel. I was this close to shipping him with Ebony. Then I realized I couldn't travel with him :,)

Braghis. Okay not so much a crush as so much I would absolutely 100000% hang out with him. I bet you he has amazing stories to tell. He'd be such a cool friend to have.

Sombren. I have no idea what it is with him but I almost couldn't help but develop a soft spot for him. Maybe how he is with the twins? Could be his determination to help his friends? Dunno. He's most likely too young for me though.

We Are - Ep 6, Only Boo - Ep 5

Perhaps because of I Cannot Reach You, which I watched on Saturday, my view of We Are and Only Because this week was more harsh and less forgiving than usual 😭

We Are My biggest problem with We Are is that this show has no substance when it comes to romance. NONE. Seriously, it's more "meaty" on friendships than romance 😄 EVEN if a couple falls in love with each other at first sight, even if the couple starts their relationship with strong attraction and sex, for the romance to be interesting and engaging, we as viewers must observe some development, progress in the relationship. This is some form of journey for lovers and we accompany them in it. We Are, with the exception of Q and Toey, doesn't show relationship development at all. Tan and Fang have had about 3 scenes together so far, involving giving each other snacks and one scene of helping with a project. We know NOTHING about Fang. And suddenly in this episode, Tan proposes dating and Fang accepts. Where did this come from? Since when has Fang been in love with Tan? Is he in love with him? Their relationship… like what? Where?? When???? I have no idea what's going on with Chain and Pun (will they even be a couple?), especially since Pun suddenly has a great relationship and better chemistry with Mick. Regarding Phum and Peem: I just can't stand the way Phum behaves towards Peem, it's FUTS all over again, i.e. a rich and handsome but dumb guy doesn't know how to talk to his crush and comes up with complicated plans that always somehow humiliate said crush. The way Peem was waiting for him at the pool in this episode, AGAIN, while Phum was gaming with his friends… it pissed me off so much! And this "being a slave" is still treated so… normally and it is shown as something funny and romantic, as if Peem had no sense of self-worth and it was still a form of "fun" for him, and when he screws up and Phum is still nice (as in the food scene), then it is something positive for him. Well, unfortunately this is not my kind of romance, there is NOTHING cool or romantic about it for me and in real life Phum and Peem would not have a chance to be together. Their romance is ENTIRELY based on the oldest tropes, i.e. falling on each other and suddenly being close. Normally I love this closeness, when the characters are lost in each other's eyes and the sudden closeness makes them feel dizzy 👌 But this is literally the basis of their relationship, not one of the many things that make up romance. My beloved @miss0atae described the character of Phum in a very interesting way in this post and I also have the same thoughts. But the series completely screwed up on this matter because this thought occurred to me after his one sentence at the end of episode 5, because Phum simply acts like an ordinary asshole, his behavior was devoid of nuance and context so far. And that's the problem with We Are: this show has potential and, most importantly, it has the TIME to delve into each of its characters, including showing Phum as someone who is lonely and has trouble establishing romantic relationships, which is why he behaves stupid (for which he should face consequences). How unfair it is that Gray Shelter had material for a full season and crammed it into 5 short episodes, and We Are has SO MUCH TIME and can't use it. How much more interesting would the relationship between Phum and Peem be if they met under bad circumstances that would make them dislike each other, but also if they felt attracted to each other due to their expressive and strong personalities, all laced with the fact that they are both young, hot and each other's type 😉 I would love to watch their relationship in which they both mature, discover new feelings and needs, in which their prejudices are tested, in which they make mistakes and apologize, thanks to which they develop. How much more this kiss would feel deserved, long-awaited, important.

Only Boo I love Moo, I love Kang, I don't like forcing feelings on someone, I don't like putting pressure on someone, I hate love serenades, and I HATE love triangles. I know, I know, the series is silly and fun, and not that deep 🤡 I'm just being grumpy.

But maybe it's actually I Cannot Reach You's fault. I should take a 2-week break from watching BL series after every 10/10 drama lol

Things I Noticed While Writing Light The Fuse: Part 14, Episode 5

This one is just. They didn't have to do this for us but they did. They really did. 😳

Nothing could've prepared us for this strength reveal. Matty in a tanktop again with such an awful pitching form. Ethan's super wide stance and the fact that he really thought he could catch up to it. That ball doesn't even touch ground in the park, and Matty completely knew this was coming, maybe he was hoping he'd take it easy on them this time.

You can also hear a clocktower go off here, and I'm not sure if it's signaling 2, which means Gary should be making his drop (I wanted them to arrive at the same time to keep everything on schedule but the fact that they're just playing ball while Gary is at Percy's to kill time is funny to me), or if it's a generic gong to signal the hour

The first shot is actually slightly longer in the extended ep and I only noticed when my subs didn't match up to Hulu's version (what I'm using for this series), and that's the only change to this whole scene. But this convo is so important, this whole time Matty has just been bragging to cops about Ethan's murder and now he wants to actually know about it, be trusted with that information other than 'yeah that happened'.

And it would be so easy for Ethan to keep lying as he's been doing, just twist the truth enough to keep them away from his reality, but he doesn't, and even though it's just them playing baseball together for the fun of it instead of having this convo on the river or at the 707, that makes this scene so important to me I had to write it twice in my fic, one for the dialogue and one for the baseball, but both so intimate in their own way, I knew I couldn't do it any other way

I wonder if they talked about it in the scenes where Ethan wasn't around, cause in canon he ditches them to talk to Doris more than they're ditching him to make out so they still get time to talk alone offscreen, and again this is the first and only time Matty questions it. I feel like Johnson already has some doubts since the subs make him say or instead of yeah as a full mock, like he already has that good a read on him that he knows something might be up even if Ethan has only ever said it in fear and full confidence, a big difference than my fic for once since I had him say it in order to help Ethan speak more easily.

I would seriously pay for an entire show just with them, split season 2 into them and then everyone else lol just gimme every single second possible with them please

Finally, Ethan tells the truth, as detailess as possible, but still, this is what happened. Matty and Johnson looking at each other instead of him during this is interesting, I wonder if they've already gone over the little details he'd shared before so this is Matty confirming his own thoughts and Johnson wanting to again get right to the meat of it, just like when he was talking about his mom, he always manages to do this when no one else can

Yes, Ethan! Question it! Tell them everything and have them still accept you because they like having you here even if it doesn't make sense! The entire time they're not even looking at him, they're going over the possibility that he heard wrong and he isn't a murderer, he doesn't have to be here because his life is still safe. Maybe Matty was already having doubts on Cop Night when the cop didn't get the APB so he's been talking to Johnson about it, and still all this is changing nothing

Okay Ethan, I need you to listen to me very carefully. I need you to look them in the eye, then look me in the eye, and tell me personally that it was Meredith who made you feel less alone. I need you to tell me that your crush on her was more important than them accepting you no matter what, and wanting you to be there with them regardless of the answer.

Look at them. Even if he's not a murderer they want him there. He's their family already and it only gets stronger. Johnson knows it without a shadow of a doubt, this is just his confirmation. Matty knows it and he's so happy, this is another thing he believes in, Ethan trusted them and even if there's doubts about the murder there is no doubt about Ethan belonging there, with them, as a Phoenix

No Matty he wasn't going to take it easy on you guys after the heart to heart, you gotta go find that or buy more that's the Johnson Guarantee you signed up for when you let him grab the bat

This is the face of a man who now gets it, and he still told Meredith she was the one who made him feel like he wasn't alone, so I'm going to start believing that that was pure desperation in the face of the barrel cause these men love him so unconditionally it's not even me reaching anymore

And then this was the last time any of them were happy ;w; Ethan learns how it feels to be truly loved, and then instantly learns what fake love feels like again from someone he trusted ;w; ❤️💙💛

One Piece live action spoilers (Ep 1 and half of 2)

So I watched 1 and a half episodes so far of the One Piece live action (I'll probably finish it by the weekend or something), here are my thoughts (esp of the differences) so far:

Luffy talking to the seagull while his ship is sinking, just perfection

I really liked how Luffy saw Zorro in the bar and the whole confrontation with Helmeppo before trying to recruit him. Like, obviously the og scene in anime and manga is legendary, but it not only makes more sense, it is also easier for a more compromised storytelling. In anime and manga you have other people often explaining stuff in monolugues or inner thoughts, which tbf works in those but not so well in live action. Also less complicated with child acting laws since the girl only had one scene here

Also we're getting reminded of Zorro being a pirate/bountyhunter before joining Luffy. Him just being absolutely ruthless apparently and cutting people's heads of, like, yeah you go on. Keep going.

Helmeppo swinging around Zorros sword while butt naked, and Zorro cutting of his hair WHICH IS APPARENTLY WORSE THAN BEING CUT OPEN. That was honestly just gold.

Tiny Luffy is adorable, and apparently he's living in some sort of basement? It's a nice detail cause they never showed where and how he lived in anime/manga before you know who dropped him off with the other you know. Like, he's just living there, and the villagers give him what he needs.

Girlboss Nami

I'm so happy to see Nami punching people with her staff. Her new weapons are great, and she obviously needed more than a wooden staff at some point, but I really sometimes wish she would still go on close combat with her enemies. Like, mix her weapons power with some close combat techniques during fights

Nami didn't have anything to do with Buggy before here. I have nothing to say about that honestly.

GARP FEEDING THE SNAIL

EVERYONE BEING CREEPY BASTARDS

Especially Buggy with his powers, because it really would be totally freaky irl, so they made it creepy (👌)

Him enslaving the WHOLE town and pulling of a circus show with them? Triple yes. He's freaky. I mean, if later seasons follow his character like the anime he will turn out less freaky and scary to the viewer, but for the people in that world he's always gonna be horrifying

LUFFY SWALLOWING THE CARD. Seriously. Everyone is creepy except Nami and Coby so far. He's no exception. Also that face when he thought he beheaded Buggy. No regret, just baffled

Back to the town: I think that was a great decision. Making clear that pirates are technically still the bad guys in that world. Yes, this is about a group of pirates. No they're not like that, but they are pirates and most other pirates are absolutely ruthless, or mad, or both. And Buggy is mad, ruthless and has some serious ego problems

Morgan is the first sign of a corrupted world government we have in the show and it is somehow more obvious then when I was first watching the anime. Probably because it was the first episodes of over a thousand (I catched up at ep 804 precisely btw) and I watched a minimum of 5 episodes at the beginning. But him in the second episode lying about the events of the first is already showing that the marines are supposed to be the good guys in-universe, but it's also the world government and military. People will lie, be assholes and corrupt

*claps* Soooo, its been a hot second since I uploaded a Tier list here, and since we're most likely gonna be getting the next batch of Helluva Boss eps pretty soon (dunno if in this exact month or so, given Hazbin Hotel's focus in February .3.), I figure it'd be safe to still give my general opinion of all the HB eps we've gotten so far (from the initial pilot to the Mammon ep). -"Ozzie's" (S1 Ep. 7) By FAR the ep that truly captured all of the show's best qualities into one, and I still find myself going back to it more times than I could count!~ 🤩👏👏Everything from the gorgeously animated Lust ring visuals, the whole climax of the ep being carried out through-song, Fizzarolli & Asmodeus making their debuts as the wickedly fun power couple, and of course there's the major focus to Blitz and Stolas as a whole here :O What started as a faux-date in order for Blitz to sneak into Ozzie's club/spy on M&M, became something that truly tackled the inner flaws to both their characters; Blitz as the emotionally closed-off, insecure imp who finally told off Stolas when-alone ("-Stolas, DON'T act like what we have is anything more than You. -"Loo-Loo Land" (S1 Ep. 2) Definitely one of the more "classic" S1 eps for alot of people, and the one that most definitely got me into the show full-on~ 😊 While maaaaybe an odd choice to have the second-ever ep of a series focused on a side character (or, in this case a side character's child lol), I was very much invested in Octavia's story the more we got to know her~ 🥺✨ A lonely owl princess who used to be filled with wonder in her childhood years... torn apart by her parents' crumbling marriage (+Stolas' infidelity) as a teenager. And now with her dad trying to recapture old memories by taking her back to Loo-Loo Land, we got a new glimpse into Stolas' character as he does all he can to be a doting (if ignorant) dad, struggling to balance those attributes with his attraction to Blitz (+him & the other IMP antics at the park), only for everything to backfire at the Robo Fizz show in-question. Ultimately, all building up beautifully to Stolas being acknowledged as having acted selfishly ("I just wanna go home, but home doesn't feel like home anymore. You ruined it..."), but at the same time... also showing him capable of admitting when he's wrong, enough to make things right by his daughter 🥹Which just... d'awww, never fails to hit me in the heart ngl~ 🙏💜

-"Mammon's Magnificent Musical I'm not typing the whole title lol" (S2 Ep. 7) P h e w, quite a mouthful of an ep this was... and yet one I gladly ate up in-full for how entertaining it was!~ 👏👏 Fizzarolli coming back to show more of his insecurities/fears of losing his status in-life, all the great songs and visual imagery to explain his plight, Mammon being a surprisingly fun villain who was both bombastic and threatening, Asmodeus & Blitz serving well as supports to Fizz, and I even loved the smug-but-determined bitch energy for the Glitz & Glam twins~ 👌 Even if part of me kiiiiiinda feels like we could've gotten a whole season's worth of story with Fizz's focus here (as is, we most likely won't get another one of these with him if he's not gonna become a main-stay lead :c), I still very much recommend this one for anyone up for a good bit of musicals, angst, feels and hope for a character like Fizzie~ 🥹💜

-"Oops" (S2 Ep. 6) For the first ep that really dove into Fizzarolli in his own focus plot, this remains a pretty fun ep in alot of different ways! 😄 From Fizz being a chaotically goofy weirdo to root for, his adorable relationship with Asmodeus, the reunion with Blitz bringing back SO much angst and feels (esp as they both got kidnapped), it all really made you invested to see these two work through things once the plot got rolling~ 🥹🙏 Now, was it a "totally" perfect ep? ...Weeeeell, I'll admit I was a bit bummed that Asmodeus didn't get to do a whole lot than just sitting in a boring ol' office, Stolas (though he had some amusing lines) lowkey felt a bit pointless here as he just read a bunch of papers all day, and while I'm glad we got even more of Striker as a threat... idk, him randomly teaming up with Crimson just felt like an odd writing choice ngl .x. BUT hey, we got to see Blitz and Fizz finally making that move to amend things between them, some interesting plot potential with Stolas buying an Asmodean crystal (most likely to end his "deal" with Blitz), and the potential for Fizz to truly shine as a main lead really made it a worthwhile ep nonetheless~ :3

-"Truth Seekers" (S1 Ep. 6) The penultimate ep before the S1 finale, and boy was it a thrilling one!~ 👀 Even if the main human characters from the DHORK agency weren't too terribly interesting, the rest of the ep remained pretty solid in getting us invested to the action!👍From all the intense action of IMP racing to save one another from the human agents, the deep dives into Blitz & Moxxie's psyche as they reveal their genuine value to one another as friends (beyond just the snarky jests/insults), and even that end shot of the humans revealing they've captured everything on-camera really added to the stakes for what our protagonists could get into next~ :O Now, granted I can see why some could take issue with certain parts like the deus-ex-machina style ending (cool as it was seeing Stolas becoming an eldritch horror lol), along with some of the conflicting implications from Blitz's "trip" (like, are we meant to see Stolas in a good light with all that golden/“heavenly” imagery… or someone we’re meant to root against with Blitz being chained to him? .-.), but ultimately its not enough to take me out of the ep overall imo.

-"Harvest Moon Festival" (S1 Ep. 5) As the first-ever introduction to our fave cowboy Striker, I'd say I still find myself having fun going back to this ep here & there :). Seeing his sly charm & charisma with our main leads, his genuine strength during the competition/end fight with the IMP crew, and the way he was able to break through Blitz's own inner-struggles with Hell's hierarchy ("-You are SO above suckin' on a disgusting, rich, pompous Goetia, only to sneak topside for scraps and work for bitter sinners, who could care less who you are, when you could be slaying Overlords...")... was just peak character-building, right there~ 👌👌 With all that said... why is this ep not ranked higher with the others above? ...Well, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least a lil salty that this turned out to NOT be a Millie-centered ep T-T. Like... come oooon, we're right here in her hometown, her whole family's here, AND there's a whole competition about Imp fighting & Wrathian strength... you're seriously gonna give most of the spotlight to Moxxie instead, and then leave poor Millie more to the sidelines (even during the big Striker battle)? Smhhhh... -n-

-"Queen Bee" (S1 Ep. 8) About time we finally got the "official" last ep of S1... and though not quiiiite as grandiose compared to "Ozzie's", I couldn't help having fun with it nonetheless ^^. The Gluttony ring visuals were pretty, Bee(zlebub) was a fun new character, we got to see Vortex back as a supportive bud to Loona's struggles at the party, and even Loona & Blitz's father & daughter-bond focus (esp during the ending) was honestly pretty touching 🥺 Though, sadly I can't quiiiite rank this one much higher, due to this more-or-less being on the "filler"-range of eps (and Loona's development here unfortunately not carried through to S2... which ironically aired before this one did, so... oof >>; ), its still nice seeing the final vision of it after so long of waiting for it way back then 😊

-"Spring Broken" (S1 Ep. 3) One of the more "low-stakes" eps of the series, but one I still find a nice bit of charm too on its own accord ^^. We got a fun mix of cattiness from Blitz and his popstar-ex Verosika, Loona showing more of a softer side through her crush on Vortex, and a fun change of scenery by having the main IMP gang go up to challenge the Succubi at the beach (-all over a petty disagreement about a parking space, of all things lol). Granted, I do wish we could've actually seen more of a proper resolution to Blitz & Loona's fight (rather than them abruptly dropping it for a monster fish threat (+Moxxie getting drunk)?), but nonetheless its a nice lil palette-cleanser for those who want a break from shipping drama & angst :>

-"Helluva Boss" (aka: The Pilot) While it may not be considered "canon" anymore in the grand scheme of things... I honestly can't help still having a soft spot for the original pilot that kicked off this whole series ^^. For the time, it was a nice mix of casting we got from Blitz introducing his classic "raunchy dumbass" self, Moxxie being more of a down-to-earth snarker to Blitz's antics than a punching bag, and even those like Loona & Millie had a nice bit of "bite" to their characterizations (that didn't just left them feeling like the token "girls" of the group). Heck, even Stolas seemed like he would've made for a fun villainous threat with the whole phone call scene with Blitz (pushy, threatening but still keeping his posh-rich guy schtick... think Brandon Rogers' British series in a way lol). As unpolished & awkwardly-paced the pilot was in hindsight (as even story-wise it lowkey felt more like a bunch of skits than a cohesive plot, I'll admit .w.; ), I think it could still use some fan-appreciation nonetheless 👍

-"Murder Family" (S1 Ep. 1) The more "official" first ep of the series... and, while admittedly not as memorable as the OG pilot, I think its still a fine ep on its own accord imo ^^. The main cast is still generally solid, I enjoyed Mrs. Mayberry & her story against Martha (+her secret killer family lol), and though a lil low-stakes in the long run, I think it sets up some interesting potential for characters like Stolas to become more relevant (-albeit his whole "deal" with Blitz not... exactly aging well, even for his previous-established creepiness .-.;; ) Still, for what it was I'd say it was a fine start to the series👍

-"C.H.E.R.U.B." (S1 Ep. 4) Seems to be considered the general least-favorite for alot of the fandom back when it aired... buuuuut tbh, I don't really think its that bad, looking back? ^^; Like, yeeaaaah its not a perfect ep; as the Cherubs (save for the purple one) were a bit forgettable in-hindsight, the old geezer duo weren't too interesting to get invested in, and I can see why some would take issue with the lowkey-unfair ending (I mean... really, kicking the Cherubs out of Heaven purely for an accidental death? Harsh :/). ...But other than that, I'd say this ep was honestly a bit refreshing to not be focused on melodrama or ship angst... as instead it kept its focus more on the IMP crew's assassin gig & their wacky shenanigans against their squeaky-clean rivals lol. With honestly a good handful of jokes I still find myself chuckling at today, I think if this ep just had a lil bit of polish/fine-tuning, I think this could've very well been a good pattern to have kept going for the rest of the show imo. 'Cause after all... wasn't that what the show was advertised as at the start, a series of goofy assassin-based adventures? lol

-"Western Energy" (S2 Ep. 4) For the time, I'll admit to finding this among the more "okay" S2 episodes... and, I guess I still think thats the case (albeit a lil less now)? Like, yeah its not exactly the most special looking back given its... kinda clunky-handling of the "Stolas gets kidnapped" A-plot, Striker (tho fun as it is seeing him return) coming off a bit watered down character-wise, Stella becoming more & more like a one-note joke that I don't see why she's even a "threat" anymore, her brother Andrealphus (admittedly cool design aesthetic-aside) being randomly-thrown in to the villain brigade outta nowhere, and... yeaaaaah I still don't get why they only NOW decided to address the "Ozzie's" drama (...through a blink-and-you'll-miss-it text message instead of an actual conversation, wow 🤦‍♀️). ...Buuuut, at the same time, I did find myself enjoying some of the B-story with Blitz & Loona (namely through him showcasing his dad priorities of keeping her comfy at the doctor's, aww ^^), M&M getting the chance to fight Striker on their own was refreshing, and I'll admit some of the humor gave me a chuckle here & there (like Striker's annoyed rant at the singing band xD). Could the overall-writing & pacing been handled better? Oh most certainly... but for what it was, I don't mind going back to this ep for at least those lil highlights lol .3.

-"Exes and Oohs" (S2 Ep. 3) Now, admittedly I didn't mind this ep too much back when it originally aired... buuuut the more I think on it nowadays, I'm just... not sure if its "aged" the best tbh. Even with the unique premise of focusing more on Moxxie's side of things, from his family upbringing to his devotion to Millie... it ultimately fell kinda flat since Crimson (admittedly entertaining as he was at times) overall felt like your average mob boss-type villain, Moxxie's ex-bf Chaz being a painfully unfunny presence with all his "hurrhurr I'm sexyyy~" humor, and even as I wanted to enjoy Millie taking a stand for her husband's defense... idk, it just kinda felt like the same "Millie gets to be kickass while Moxxie watches" song & dance we've been used to, already 🤷‍♀️ Not to say the ep's "completely" without its merits, as I did enjoy Blitz's addition as more of a chaotic doof than his usual asshole schtick here, the murkier green atmosphere a nice change of pace setting-wise, and the childhood Moxxie flashback being chillingly sad to watch... buuuuut if yall are gonna immediately backpeddle from such intensity through a literal d***-on-the-wall gag, then like... whats the point, man? :/

-"The Circus" (S2 Ep. 1) Definitely seems to be the most... "base-breaking" ep of the series, as you've got half the fans who do love it for exploring more of Stolas' backstory... to those who can't stand it for the inevitable continuity errors, melodrama & fanfic-y writing throughout most of it. For me... while I don't outright hate it, personally (as I do still enjoy some of the pretty visuals, Paimon (voiced by Jafar lol) being an entertaining asshole-type character, and some of the flashback scenes with the kid-aged cast were cute), I just... have the hardest time fully-enjoying the ep whenever I look back on it :( Namely for this... sadly being the point to where Stolas went from such a well-balanced, complicated character w/ gray morality... to just your average "uwu poor bean who did nothing wrong & only wanted true looooove~ 🥺🥺" protagonist from literally any cheap Y/A romance story 🤷‍♀️. Nothing really seeming to be his fault anymore as we've got Stella being confirmed a heartless shrew their whole marriage, Paimon having been the catalyst that instilled the Goetia's toxic views into Stolas from childhood, and now Blitz having been shown as the one who "lead on" Stolas since the get-co (even as kids as he basically stole all his stuff under the guise of being his playmate + seduced Stolas (while drunk) as reunited adults). And like... if the show needs to bend over backwards THIS much to make you root for a character... then I just ain't interested in 'em anymore. Sorry :/

-"Unhappy Campers" (S2 Ep. 5) Y'know, it says alot about an episode when it becomes the universal least favorite for alot of the fandom overnight (so much that even the hardcore M&M stans prefer to pretend it doesn't exist)... myself included -_-. Like... really? This has to be the point in finally giving M&M the major-A plot together? One where they're basically both at their absolute worst (from Moxxie being a whiny drama queen, to the writer's attempt at "Millie depth" feeling more like a half-assed ploy to ward off her critics), the humor being an absolute cringe-fest all the way through (like... whyyyy oh why did they had to make the setting at a kid's camp, of all things? 🤢), and as much as I wanted to enjoy the B-story with Blitz finding his sister Barbie (even more for her not immediately forgiving him right away since he kept stalking her all day)... the fact that it was ultimately just too rushed in and forgotten about by the end doesn't do the ep any favors for me :/...

-"Seeing Stars" (S2 Ep. 2) Ughhhh... while I guess not technically the worst HB episode given the previous one I mentioned... this one just, never fails to bug me for how filled to the brim it was of missed opportunities🤦‍♀️. What should've been a wholesome & touching ep focusing on Octavia's struggles with her parents' impending-divorce, getting to bond with Loona, and allowing them space to just hangout & have fun outside of their respective homes... was instead just a pointless venture into a bland af Hollywood setting, cheesy Stol*itz fanservice at some sitcom-set eating up the runtime (-all the while not addressing any of the drama from the prior "Ozzie's" ep), Loona being WAY too violent to her dad for no reason (even beyond her usual grumpiness) that it felt OOC, M&M adding nothing but fluff for the upteenth time in yet another side-plot... ...and the worst part of it for me, was just how backwards in logic it was to paint Octavia as "wrong" for being upset at her dad... WHEN SHE HAD EVERY FREAKIN' RIGHT TO BE??😑Yes, I know Stolas loves her, and that he IS trying his best after the shitty cards he's been dealt with in-life... but jfc Stolas, did you need to stay on the phone arguing with Stella all-morning? Did you need to act so helpless and distracted at the studio with Blitz (-when you're literally the same dude who went hellish-giant bird mode to save IMP in "Truth Seekers"...WITHOUT the grimoire on top of that)?? *sighs* And like... as much as I want to give Stolas kudos for (kinda?) apologizing & making amends at the end with Via... idk, I feel like that ultimately further-added to me growing disinterested in his overall character 😔. You watched Killer start to walk down the path towards his ship where his captain awaited. You couldn’t help but think that you needed to say something different this time.. What if this would be the last time you saw him..? Worry set into your mind, and you ran after him, grabbing his arm, quickly turning the man around. He made a noise of shock before you hopped onto your tippy toes, placing your lips on the side of his helmet. “Good luck.. I love you Killer.” You would say with a smile, plopping down on your feet again, your heels touching the ground. He froze, and didn’t move for a couple seconds before he quickly embraced you tightly, leaning his head in the crook of your neck. “Acting like I won’t be back-? I’ll never leave ya, I love you too.” He would reply close to your ear, his low voice tickling your ear slightly. When you felt him pull away, you felt a more lonely sensation, but when you saw him wave goodbye to you… Your face turned into a warm smile, one that always made Killer happy to see. He’d be back, you knew it.

It really sounds like the first option, but the thing is, there's no point in telling the person in front of you that they're on speakerphone, you normally tell that to the person on the line (also ça voudrait dire tutoiement lâché comme ça gratuitement ?). My School President Ep 2 Stray Thoughts

Last week got off to a great start with what might be the best BL premiere I've ever seen from GMMTV. This has raised my expectations considerably. I was thrilled with the editing choices and the quality of the sound mixing. I'm also really enjoying the leads so far. I'm going to keep calling this show Lovesick 2.0, and I mean that with total affection.

Gemini is doing a great job with his eyes and time Tinn sees Gun for the first time in an interaction, especially when he's surprised. His eyes go wide like he wants to take all of him in, and then you see his throat tighten like he knows he needs to hold back. Once he settles, he's so considered about how he talks to him.

"You'll do anything? Then you must be my boyfriend." I see you, Lovesick 2.0.

Oh no it was a dream, but I did enjoy the effect of it all. Also fun to see an actress wearing the boys' school uniform. I wonder if Tinn saw Lovesick and that's why he's dreaming of that scenario.

Excited to see the beginning of the show from Tinn's perspective. It's refreshing to know that his crush has been burning for a long time.

His friend called Tinn out for simping too hard. I felt that.

This use of flashback is so well done. I complain sometimes about reusing footage, but taking us back to the scene where the music boys were looking for a club to show Tinn failing to flirt with Gun is 👌.

Oh no, Tinn went and started a beauty routine to attract Gun and it was overshadowed by that fight.

At this point I'm just waiting for "the good season 4 that lives in my head" posts to start hitting the dash and........... yeah currently feeling it a little bit. Not saying the season is bad but it feels nothing at all like a final season. And now I get why those comments from the cast made me uneasy. I mean Sarah saying it's satisfying but not at the same time... And pretty much everyone thinking there was for sure a follow up to the season. Idkkkkk idk idk. Idk. Sigh.

It feels unfinished, unfinessed. It seems the creators had some checkpoints they wanted the story to hit, and everything in between is just means to get there.

4.01 and 4.02 gave us a quick easy win - sibs getting pierce (also funny how just 2 seasons ago logan was prepared to pay 24 billion for it, but folded at less than 10 this time), before logan died because writers needed to kill logan while sibs and logan were angry at each other, but could not just kill him in the first ep. 4.03 feels like the ep they prepared the most. It's the best episode of this season so far.

4.04 is a nothing ep that's only there to introduce kenstar romco again. Both 4.05 and 4.06 seem like patented filler eps, one for a mandatory business retreat and the other for an obligatory shareholder meet. Obviously, 4.07 will be a mirror image of 3.07, succession's best compulsory hit - the party episode.

And then it's just 3 eps until the end, and succ is gone forever.

No wonder most of the cast did not realise it was the end. This season feels a bit weaker than the last and might not be the best at pacing. But knowing this does not fill me with much hope, if so many of them thought succ could go on, there is very little possibility it will feel like an epic ending of a remarkable story.

As for 'the good season 4 that lives in my head,' I am this 👌 close to deciding succ ended at season three for me. But who knows, maybe the last four eps will be so groundbreaking that I will forget 50% of this season sucked.

7 years Tragic Backstory Unlocked!# Honestly I was hyped to see the flashbacks. LW being the first one to rush in and covering his eyes 👌 👌 Locked eyes as the doors close, then locked across interrogation room. The confliiiiict.

I just really love Big Misunderstandings that are actually valid - not people being oblivious and foolish, not artifically staged, but the 2 people have authentically different perspectives and priorities, and with imperfect knowledge of each others' actions & motives they developed a false belief that eventually the story tears down. (andthentheyhavesex)

The contrasting cuts of different daily routines was everything I wanted. This series truly seemed to be made for the novel fans. It's imperfect and not as complex as the source material but I feel like you can tell they are trying to bring scenes to life for fans

jfc pei su you really do spend 80% of your time in the dark abandoned house ur mom died in, lounging dramatically in chairs and twirling ur coin like a super villain. u need a working class cat-owner boyfriend to be prickly but soft & nurturing at u pronto.

The opening nightmare is so vivid. His trauma is legit haunting the series.

Love how dedicated Pei Su is to being creepy 24/8,, just pure professionalism, putting it all into the craft

the Luo Weizhao character doesn't chew up the scenery in the same way, but I like his vibes. a lil rough-edged, sassy & competent, but not doing too much. just inhabiting the role.

the game console!! ❤

"your blind date?!?" "do you want to borrow my car?" scene was classic. the show vs tell aspect for their rival crushes on safe straight boy Tao Ran is really working for me.

and then the scene where Pei Su is revealed to have a cat's picky habits and Luo Weizhao decides to just accept he will take it as feeding his cat!! watching him take that lil nibble and peeling him shrimp! and we get more hints that they do have a real history; they know each other. The series captures that tone from the novel, where their relationship is at the start of the tale... this intimacy of long acquaintance but in all interactions they start off on the offensive or are feeling each other out w caution. They are so close and yet walled off from each other at the same time. A sense, in brief moments, of wanting to cross the boundary without triggering their usual landmines, but not knowing how.

And Luo Weizhao gets to have a full-on action sequence at the end. Very dashing.

Case 1 so far is relatively faithful. I already know how the cases end up, obviously, so I'm more into all the interpersonal moments. I look forward to team hijinks in the future. Please let the full series air eventually please please please
