The Dark Contract

"The Dark Contract" is just our funny way of naming a comfort agreement that we are putting into the Eureka rulebook, wherein players(including the game master) check boxes based on the degree of comfort they have with certain disturbing or potentially disturbing concepts coming up in-game.

So, we're asking you: Are there any concepts or ideas that bother you that you rarely see mentioned on similiar contracts?

The Bat-Adoption Papers are literal Magic Contracts

So! In the Deified Batman AU (the AU where the Belief of the peoples of Gotham accidentally Ascended Batman to minor godhood), the Bat Adoption Papers would be a fun concept.

Batman is a God of The Night, Fear, and Protection. Specifically, the protection of Children, which is one of his biggest motivators. Meaning, it's a big part of his Divine Domain.

So when he, a God of Protection and Children, adopts his own Child? It's kind of a big deal.

His Adoption Papers basically become Magical Contracts that claim Dick to him as his own Son, basically turning Dick into a Demigod by the fact that he is the Son of a God.

Then each time Batman adopts a kid, they become a Demigod as well. Maybe after enough time, and after they forge their own Identities, they could become Minor Gods of their own? Idk, fun idea

Why do I bring this up?

Well, when Danny eventually joins the JLA, and runs into Batman, all he sees in a God of the Night, who takes one look at him, and then pulls out a Magical Binding Contract from his Belt.

Needless to say, he books it.

In “Too Sweet” Hozier draws a contrast between two individuals with different lifestyles and preferences, one who enjoys living life at his own pace, indulging in simple pleasures like whiskey, coffee, and late nights while not worrying too much about conforming to societal norms of waking up early and living a disciplined life, and a second individual, presumably the partner, is portrayed as someone who values discipline, health, and structure. They encourage the narrator to live a healthier lifestyle, waking up early and taking care of themselves.

Born from the 3rd Circle of Hell, Gluttony, same as his track, “Eat Your Young”, Hozier examines excessive mess and overindulgence, similiar to Dante’s depiction of gluttony where it not only refers to overconsumption of food and drink but also the overindulgence in any worldly pleasure to the detriment of spiritual growth.

Like you can acknowledge the bad stuff he did while not horribly mischaracterizing him, you know this right? He’s intentionally written to be sympathetic you can feel bad for him while not woobifying him you don’t gotta over correct it

Redesign Violet for my little ducktales Redesign

I wasn't sure what to do with Violet. These are all just little ideas for her but they aren't her final design. Just trying to think of ways with how she'll fit into my ducktales redesign.

For the first one, I lean in more with her ducktales 2017 design. I gave her short hair, a little headband, and a sweater. Giving her original color palette. In here I put her at the age of around 11-12, older than my Webby design, but I just thought maybe instead of being Webby's friend she'll be AMJ's friend? I still don't have designs for them yet nor ages.

Then the next one. I was thinking what if she was Webby’s younger friend who is very smart but blunt? I gave her shorter hair and overalls. Gave her huge big eyes that she uses to stare at people before saying something brutally honest. I also tried giving her different feather patterns similar to a female hummingbird.

then for the next one. I decided to give her male color patterns that have way more purple in their patterns. I also wasn't sure if I should change her personality or keep it the same?

Then I thought, wait what if Violet was boy? Keeping her the same age as Webby. I made his hair similar to one of her dads.

For the last design, I was tired and so unsure for what else I could do with Violet. Less focus on character designing and how exactly was I gonna fit her into my ducktales redesign story, since I yet to figure out how it would start. So I just did this design without much thought and more of a doodle? But I honestly like her patterns and hairstyles. Her outfit needs work of course but the rest is actually pretty and I might consider it for my final design for her?

rewatching the first episode of Hannibal and holy shit I forgot how good this is but it's actually insane that Brian fuller set up the ep like this, he introduces will and Hannibal by first briefly showing them at their core, at the darkest, most vile part of them---we get a glimpse behind the curtain---and then its gone, the curtain is snapped shut and we see their masks, their human suits.

Will empathizes with killers because he likes it, and he wants to kill but he refuses to give into the urge because he knows how much he'll like it and he won't be able to stop. So he lives vicariously through other killers, satisfying his own dark urge by feeding it little morsels of secondhand blood lust. Every crime scene he works gives the urge something that satisfies it, not enough for it to grow, but enough for it be sate. Enough that he can ignore it for long enough that he can walk around and be Professor Will Graham who is Weird, Brash, and Non-sociable.

And Hannibal is a cannibal at night and a psychiatrist by morning.
