Hey hey, Eevee here - so, after your Rebecca essay (great read btw, loved it!), are you going to try and incorporate her into the ERS at some point?
Hi! Thank you - I'm really pleased to hear you enjoyed it!
For the simplest answer: no. The ERS is winding down now - it's already been a while since I last added to it, and that's simply because I am scraping the bottom of the well for ideas. I will make it to 60 ERS fics or burst, but that's going to be the end.
For a slightly longer answer: Rebecca might appear in other projects in the future. The ERS is a bit too Awdryesque for Rebecca, even based on the alterations I made in my essay (read it if you haven't!) - but she could appear in other, future works. Writing right now is basically impossible with my uni workload, which is a real shame because I've gotten a lot of ideas from my various courses - one of which is a German Literature course on book the Nazis burnt! Hopefully I'll get some time in the near future.
Until then, thank you for your ask!

mmmmm. I'm not one to turn away from a bribe especially if it's potential content. Or a potential new believer in this shit. I'm just gonna need you to hear me out here-
also you're so real for the willy and barry thing, pretty sure i read those fics you mentioned!!
(s2 spoilers beneath the cut for those around who haven't caught up btw)
Lark and Cassandra
Cassandra has had some really not great run ins with her partners. Left behind with their son by Nick, treated like shit when kind of enslaved by Willy. That kind of experience will absolutely turn you away from relationships out of want to protect yourself. She doesn't need a partner and she knows that, maybe a part of her doesn't want one because of the risks of either her getting hurt/tricked again or just her getting her heartbroken when they leave.
There is absolutely no way Lark has had a single meaningful relationship in his life. He released the doodler when he was like 11/12, and based on everything we know about him? It haunted him, and I genuinely can not see him being willing to open up, be vulnerable, let him self be soft around someone, and get attached in that way because of that. He had his shit he needed to do. He trained his neice with his brother for years to get this shit done and kill the doodler, you think a man who'd do that would think twice about letting himself be in a relationship? Especially after sleeping with Rebecca?
Now comes post canon. Within the months after Willys death. Willy is gone, the doodler is gone, they're trying to clean up whatever residue is left but mostly? It's over. This thing Lark has been obsessing over for 25 years is over. What's next?
For Cass, Willy is gone, her son is safe and by her side again, Nicky is sometimes there but Taylor made his stance pretty clear. Life is supposed to go back to normal, but how does that happen when she had married a man who tried to kill her son and four other children. Who did kill not only one of those kids, but one of the other parents around as well - who had practically kidnapped her? It's over, sure. But moving on is hard. Especially when her son constantly has his friends around, it makes sense he brings them there - she does have a big house and the money to support them. And she'd do anything for her little boy, but it doesn't really give her time to cope.
Sparrow and Normal haven't been getting on well at all, that lovewolf scene really fucked the kid up as we all know. But I think he and Lark would have been more okay, Lark had a good few times already told Normal he believed in him. Told him he trusted him. He'll he stopped his 25 year long plan to kill the doodler because of Normal. I like to picture him and Lark being a lot more okay than him and Sparrow.
but because of this, Lark is the one to drop him off or pick him up if it isn't Hero or Becca. Sometimes he sticks around after Normal runs in to catch up with Cassie, he does know her after all. The guys and Nick were all friends when he got married, they may have stayed away from her a bit after the betrayal but I don't think they'd entirely cut her off? Espeically if she had become their friend as well kinda thing. So sure sometimes he stays for a bit to talk and catch up, maybe help her make the kids some dinner. At least with Norm's because of the kids vegan diet- he's been with his family long enough to now know by now.
It's slow, but I see them growing closer. They're friends, and they lean on each other. she confides in him about what she went through with Willy and even Nicky - about how she's feeling about everything. About her worries for her sweet boy after all this. He does the same, slowly- not really one to open up much, but tells her about his own worries for Normal and Sparrow. (I'm a firm DadLark believer as well fight me on that so other dadlark lovers have fun with this) He confides in her about the fact he knows that Normal is his but how is he meant to raise a kid, one who's been hurt so bad by shit he started, when he can barely take care of himself somedays.
They both have this other person, someone who's understanding in their own and is helping eachother without even realizing. Them spending time together has helped take their mind off the shit thats plaguing them. It's slow, but steady, if not a little wobbly because healing is. But I feel like, eventually- they could learn.
Cassie could see that even with the horrid experiences she's had, that maybe someone out there can still make her laugh the way she used to. Lark could see that maybe being vulnerable and open and soft isn't as bad as he's made himself believe. They could learn that maybe they do deserve something good like this for once.
I just absolutely love the idea of Lark warming up and opening up. Of letting himself be vulnerable in a way he hasn't before because he hasn't had a relationship in the proper since. Hook ups and casual things that went nowhere deep are nothing compared to this. Him having to get used to letting himself not be this wartorn paranoid survivalist type guy, let himself be able to sit and relax for a little bit now that he can. Be able to sit and relax with someone by his side. I love the idea of Cassandra slowly working through this trauma and everything that's been left in her. Finding herself again and letting herself be comfortable again before finding something in Lark as well. Not rushing into anything like last time, but taking her time to make sure she's safe and comfortable.
She would be safe in general, too. You can't tell me Lark wouldn't make sure of that. He gave his nephew (cough, son) a gun and put Kevlar in his suit to protect him.
I just think they could be really soft and healing and ugh me and my friend have been going insane.
Plus considering Cassandra's track record of men she's liked, I think Lark fits in that kinda taste as well. Nicky being the longer haired punkish guy who tries to be cool. (you're cool in my heart you big dumbass). Willy being canonically incredibly attractive and also like rugged and scruffy. You're telling me Lark, survivalist prepper scruffy ass fighter Lark wouldn't fit in that list? I rest my case.
anyway tldr Lark and Cassandra could be really soft and a way for them to learn to cope, be vulnerable again, and trust again. I love them, thank you for your time.
there's nothing like being in a Fandom and having a rare rarepair ship that you fell in love with because of writing stuff you do with a friend and it just happened. but no one else will see the same thing we do - no one will get it
no one will see the same vision we so clearly do
I lie awake, hand placed lovingly on a framed photo of them. I see a potential with the two of you, it's okay.
And you all may think I mean Terrick considering my posting history. Not at all, no where near actually.

More Info on Scout’s Brothers in my Interpretation of Them
From working on my latest TF2 fic, I’ve been getting even more invested in my interpretations of Scout’s brothers than I was back when I wrote “Jeremy” last month, so here’s more information on them, including their appearances, who their spouses end up being later on in life, and their kids (if they have any).
(Putting this under a readmore for the sake of literally everyone)
((Tumblr, please don’t fuck this up for mobile readers. If it does end up looking like crap, I’ll make a Google Doc for this.))
Name: Grant Grayson-Kennedy Jr. Age: 34 (11 years older than RED Scout) Gender: Cisgender Man Sexuality: Bisexual Hair Color: Dark Brown Eye Color: Grey Their Mother: Rebecca “Becky” Kennedy Their Father: Grant Grayson Sr. Their S/O: Amelia O’Malley (36) Their Children: Lauren Grayson-Kennedy (8), Kara Grayson-Kennedy (6), Rupert Grayson-Kennedy (4.5), Timothy Grayson-Kennedy (2) Occupation: Air Force Veteran/Lawyer Personality: The family peacekeeper. Probably the most pragmatic of his siblings (though he’s still quite the fighter), Grant has been helping his mom out with his brothers from almost the very beginning, becoming more helpful as more kids were born. He’s a family man, and adores his family to bits, doing almost anything to keep them safe. Was actually considered as a possible recruit by The Administrator, but she decided to not hire him in the end, as he seemed too wise to be manipulated.
Name: Timothy Grayson-Kennedy Age: 32 (9 years older than RED Scout) Gender: Cisgender Man Sexuality: Homosexual Hair Color: Dark Brown Eye Color: Dark Brown Their Mother: Rebecca “Becky” Kennedy Their Father: Grant Grayson Sr. Their S/O: Duke Hammond (32) Their Children: Sarah Kennedy-Hammond (3), Jeremy Kennedy-Hammond (1) Occupation: Cartoonist Personality: The family heart. The most gentle of his brothers, Timmy is especially close with Jeremy and Grant. Kinda nervous about being a father, but with his childhood best friend turned lover at his side, he isn’t quite as scared anymore. Stays in contact with his siblings well enough, but tends to lose track of events/announcements due to living all the way in California. Doesn’t approve of mercenary work in general.
Name: Jacob Grayson-Kennedy Age: 31 (8 years older than RED Scout) Gender: Cisgender Man Sexuality: Heterosexual Hair Color: Light Blond Eye Color: Light Blue Their Mother: Rebecca “Becky” Kennedy Their Father: Grant Grayson Sr. Their S/O: None Their Children: Ana Grayson-Kennedy (3), Mia Grayson-Kennedy (3) Occupation: Freelance Guitarist Personality: The family sword. Was always pretty rough ‘n tumble even when compared to his brothers, so he got into a lot of trouble alongside Malcolm when he was a teen. Finally cleaned up his act when a one-night-stand resulted in him having twin daughters, who he loves dearly and has sole custody of. Has a better relationship with Arthur now that they’re adults, and actually lives with him in downtown Boston.
Name: Arthur Grayson-Kennedy Age: 31 (8 years older than RED Scout) Gender: Cisgender Man Sexuality: Pansexual Hair Color: Dark Blond Eye Color: Dark Blue Their Mother: Rebecca “Becky” Kennedy Their Father: Grant Grayson Sr. Their S/O: Markus Browning (29) Their Children: None Occupation: Carpenter Personality: The family shield. Not quite as mellow as Timmy is, but he’s pretty damn close in terms of general kindness towards his family and friends. Has struggled in the past to find his calling, but he loves his job in carpentry, and loves that he gets to live with his twin and nieces! Has an on and off boyfriend who he keeps a secret from the family, as he’s nervous to come out as pan, even though Timmy’s been out as gay for a few years now.
Name: Patrick Walsh-Kennedy Age: 30 (7 years older than RED Scout) Gender: Cisgender Man Sexuality: Heterosexual Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Brown Their Mother: Rebecca “Becky” Kennedy Their Father: Terrence Walsh Their S/O: Felicity Homer (28) Their Children: None Occupation: Hairdresser Personality: The family shadow. He’s never liked being in the spotlight, even when he was young and into street brawls. Was beaten by his bio dad a lot as a kid, so he’s fairly skittish as a result; jumps at loud noises and has claustrophobia. Still checks in on the family every once in awhile, but he prefers to stay with his GF in relative solitude. Loves his job so much, even if it does involve being social sometimes.
Name: Malcolm Walsh-Kennedy Age: 27 (4 years older than RED Scout) Gender: Cisgender Man Sexuality: Heteromantic Asexual Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Brown Their Mother: Rebecca “Becky” Kennedy Their Father: Terrence Walsh Their S/O: Dolores Jamison Their Children: Luke Kennedy-Jamison (5) Occupation: Wrestler Personality: The family instigator. Was by far the most reckless and violent of his brothers (yes, even more so than Jacob), which led to him getting arrested a number of times in his teens. Is trying to turn his life around, but it’s hard for him. After he found out that Jeremy is a mercenary, he flipped his lid, and he’s still pissed at him about it. Loves his son, his wife, his mama, his brothers, and that’s about it tbh.
Name: Curtis Walsh-Kennedy Age: 26 (3 years older than RED Scout) Gender: Cisgender Man Sexuality: Bisexual Hair Color: Dark Blond Eye Color: Blue Their Mother: Rebecca “Becky” Kennedy Their Father: Terrence Walsh Their S/O: None Their Children: None Occupation: BLU Scout Personality: The family drifter. Spent a lot of his childhood teasing Jeremy and trying to be his mom’s favorite, neither of which worked in his favor. His mom still loves him of course, but he’s not the favorite (no one is). He drifted for a long while after high school, struggling to land a job, before he was hired to join BLU team as their Scout. Now he continues teasing Jeremy as an adult, which leads to a lot of matches turning into Scout vs Scout fights.
Name: Jeremy Kennedy Age: 23 Gender: Transgender Man Sexuality: Pansexual Hair Color: Brown Eye Color: Baby Blue Their Mother: Rebecca “Becky” Kennedy Their Father: Jeffery REDACTED Their S/O: None Their Children: None Occupation: RED Scout Personality: The family runt. He tried so hard to keep up with his brothers as a kid, but was always told to not play as rough due to him being FTM. After coming out to the family as a man, and living on his own for awhile, he’s become even closer to his brothers than he was before, save for maybe Curtis, who he fights with every time they see each other. He knows Curtis is the BLU Scout and constantly teases him for losing so often to RED, which leads to even more fights between them. (I should note that I don’t characterize Jeremy as transgender in the Kids AU, mostly because I think he’d be too young to come out, and seeing as I don’t want to write him as a “girl” for the entirety of the AU... he can be trans in that AU if you want him to be, but I feel uncomfortable writing such a young child as being trans, so do with that what you will.)
Information on the dads!
Grant Grayson Sr.: Grant, Timothy, Jacob, and Arthur’s dad. He was a well respected man when he was alive, and actually had a decent relationship with Becky for the most part, but it became more strained when he left for war after the twins were born. About a year into his military service, Grant was killed in action, leaving Becky a widow. She loved him, but after his death, she accepted the fact that it wouldn’t have lasted forever with him, though she still misses him sometimes.
Terrence Walsh: Patrick, Malcolm, and Curtis’s dad. He tried hooking up with Becky the minute Grant was shipped overseas, but she always turned him down, as she was married and not a cheater. After Grant’s death though, he swooped in and convinced Becky to start going out with him, leading to Patrick’s birth and a second marriage for Becky. Unfortunately, Terrance was a real POS, and he routinely beat the kids as well as Becky. He was assassinated a few weeks after Curtis was born by Spy, freeing Becky of his abuse.
Jeffery REDACTED: The RED Spy/Jeremy’s dad. He met Becky while she was still stuck in an abusive marriage with Terrence, and soon after they met, Becky begged for his help in getting rid of her husband so she and kids could finally be safe. Feeling bad for the mother, Spy did just that, killing Terrence and making it look like an accident. Afterwards he planned on going on his merry way, but Becky convinced him to stay in her home while he waited for more work to roll in. During this time, they fell in love, and he soon married her (though it was an under the table sort of deal, where he also took on her last name), and after a year or so of marriage, Becky became pregnant with Jeremy. Unfortunately for Spy, people were after him, so he had to leave the family behind, but he’s still technically married to Becky, and she refuses to date anyone in his absence.
And that’s what I’ve got! Btw, I chose the last name “Kennedy” for the family based on the quote “You’ve got the luck of a Kennedy!” since I headcanon that Scout’s Mom has been through a lot, and in turn so have all of her children in one way or another. The family’s unlucky, but at least they’ll always have each other! Feel free to ask me questions about the family if you have any.

Christmas Wedding Planner (2017)
Tumblr media
As requested by @madbrilliant84
Starring: Jocelyn Hudon (The Strain) as Kelsey, and Stephen Huszar (Yorkie from Letterkenny!) as Connor
Street Cred: 7/10. Huszar has done more than a few of these flicks and Hudon was in another Hallmark fic with Rebecca Romijn and the fat kid from Stand by Me, so I’m confident she can hold her own. Plus, she has freckles. This movie has an actual plot, so hold on.
Official Synopsis: Wedding Planner, Kelsey Wilson, is about to have her big break: planning her beloved cousin's lavish and exclusive wedding. Everything is going smoothly until Connor McClane, a devilishly handsome private investigator, shows up and turns Kelsey's world upside-down. Hired by a secret source, Connor quickly disrupts the upcoming nuptials but wins Kelsey's heart in the process.
What Really Happens: First off, this one is based on a Harlequin novel, so I had big expectations. Second, I actually watched this last year, but once I remembered which movie it was, I was happy to watch again. So, you know, it’s good.
Kelsey (Hudon) is an orphan (sadface) whose mother died an unspecified number or years ago. Her closest relatives are now her super prefect but not conceited cousin Emily (they’re like sisters!) and Emily’s mother, Aunt Olivia, played to haughty perfection by Kelly Rutherford. Emily’s father died the year before. This is important, so don’t forget. I’ll be quizzing you later.
Kelsey is a wedding planner/event planner/total novice doing a good job in charge of Emily’s big day. It’s a Christmas Eve wedding, y’all! What could go wrong?
A lot, as it turns out. Kelsey literally bumps into a mystery man in a coffee shop and he is dismissive, and a little rude, and he steals her blueberry scone. Sort of. Kelsey vents about it in a text message to another mystery person and then goes on with being late to Emily’s engagement party.
At the party she spots the scone thief and discovers that not only did he (Connor) give the scone to Ice Queen Aunt Olivia, he used to date Emily. After a few backhanded comments from Olivia, Kelsey pulls up her big girl panties and confronts him only to have him tell her he knew who she was all along and that he may or may not be there to ruin the wedding. Then he takes off. Just like that.
Kelsey, being the loyal cousin/maid of honour/wedding planner that she is, goes after him and finds out Connor is a P.I. and someone hired him to look into Emily’s fiance (Todd), and would she like to join forces?
Later, at the dress fitting, we find out Connor left Emily on Christmas morning with no explanation (the cad!). Todd shows up and Kelsey spies him getting friendly with the woman who owns the dress shop. Either way, the point is that Todd may be cheating and this woman is clearly not interested in helping you try on dresses. What follows is Kelsey’s attempt at being sneaky by almost sending a baker into a panic spiral before giving in and searching out Connor.
This is where things take a turn in the story because Joey freaking Fatone is in this movie! That’s right, the Fat One himself, plays Connor’s best friend. And he’s fantastic, as usual. Kelsey eats some food, tries to inadvertently murder Connor, and finally agrees to work with him. He tells her he thinks Todd’s family is going bankrupt and he’s out for Emily’s family’s money. Did I mention they’re stinkin’ rich? Because they are. Who else can afford wedding planners and two engagement parties?
Kelsey texts her mystery person all her feelings and takes Connor as her date to the party at Todd’s parents (Mr. and Mrs. Todd) house. Apparently poor millennials aren't the only ones living at home after College. Connor is looking to get his hands on Mr. Todd’s finances and promptly tells people he’s Kelsey’s boyfriend, much to her chagrin.
Connor hams it up while questioning the staff, including a pregnant server, and then sneaks upstairs to Mr. Todd’s office. Kelsey follows him and they get caught snogging by Mr. Todd. Because why else would they be up there alone, right? It’s a good kiss, too, btw. Very hot. Mr. Todd tells everyone about it, of course.
Aunt Olivia warns Kelsey off Connor while Emily supports their (fake) relationship and eats delicious looking cake. Kelsey feels guilty about spying on Emily, but agrees to help Connor a little more because muscles and banter. Let the flirting begin!
They go on a stakeout to watch Todd walk up and down the same street for three days straight. The also fool around (not like that!) and flirt before following Todd to dinner. Kelsey gets all daring and vulnerable with Connor when she explains that the texts she sends are to her Mom’s phone. She keeps the account up to date and sends them to feel closer to her mom. Connor is a sweetheart and holds her hand while listening to how Aunt Olivia moved her sick mom and her in and helped care for her until she died. You want to dislike Olivia, but Kelly Rutherford make it hard.
Their flirting turns serious and Connor is proposing an actual date when the chickie from the dress shop joins Todd at his table. Kelsey gets pissed and confronts Todd. Turns out he and chickie are old friends and it’s not at all what it looks like.
The next day, Kelsey confesses to Aunt Olivia what her and Connor have been up to and that she’s fallen for him. Aunt Olivia gives her a cheque receipt as proof that Connor was only with Emily for her money and that he took off as soon as he was paid. He also hit the uncle up for more money the month before the uncle died.
Kelsey confronts Connor at Joey Fatone’s restaurant (he’s now catering the wedding, btw), not letting him explain himself because open communication is for losers. Kelsey is sad while Connor whines to Joey Fatone until Joey Fatone talks some sense into him.
The day of the wedding, Joey Fatone lures Kelsey to the restaurant by telling her the freezer malfunctioned, but really it’s so Connor can talk to her because she’s ignoring his calls. (It’s a trap!) Connor explains that ten years prior, he took what he thought was a loan from Emily’s dad to save Joey Fatone’s restaurant. But the uncle then told him to take a hike or he’d tell Emily Connor extorted the money.
Kelsey storms off before he can tell her about the second cheque because, HELLO, she’s the cousin/maid of honour/wedding planner and she has shit to do! The wedding is going swimmingly until Connor busts into the church with the pregnant server from the party, and well, you can guess where it goes from there. I won’t ruin the ending, but just know that I think they really missed an opportunity to marry Joey Fatone into that family.
Teacup’s Tidbits:
This Kelsey is delightfully awkward
I love that they didn’t cover up her freckles
Oh god, her cousin is adorable, too!
There goes Aunt Olivia with the backhanded comments. She’s a real pro
There’s a reporter covering the wedding, that’s how you know it’s a big deal. Don’t screw it up, Kelsey!
Connor is so dismissive and you can just see how pleased her is at how riled up she gets
He is totally crushing on her
So am I, btw
Uh-oh, that boy’s just a walk-away Joe
JOEY FATONE!!!!!!
Man, I love when he’s in stuff. This is no exception
Kelsey is going to work with Connor strictly to be fed for free. I feel that
So if Kelsey and Emily are like sisters, why did Kelsey know nothing about Connor? How old are they supposed to be?
She just guessed the laptop password. What luck!
Damn, that’s a good kiss
Mr. Todd is all “I’ll pay to watch”
She just corrupted that flashdrive. YOU HAVE TO EJECT IT FIRST!
Emily wants to compare sex notes about Connor, I just know it
Okay, the van scenes are so great. They look like they had so much fun!
Connor is so into her, he can’t even pretend to be chill
The waiter ships them, I’m dying!
TIME FOR FEELINGS!
Ugh, chickie from the dress shop is so smug and irritating
I don’t trust Todd either, for what it’s worth. First of all, his name is Todd. Second, see the first.
Aunt Olivia, looking out for her girls! With some more backhanded compliments that she sees as jokes
Joey Fatone has no time for your sad love life, he has a wedding to cater
That’s entrapment, boys. Not cool
Wait, I forgot in movies stalking is romantic. My bad
Kelsey shut off her listening ears halfway through Connor’s monologue. SHE DOES NOT HAVE TIME FOR THIS SHIT!
Hey, at least the bridesmaids dresses aren’t hideous. Except Kelsey’s. But it’s also very “her” for I can forgive it
Connor brought a pregnant lady as his plus one
Ohhh, shit is going down! I remember being really surprised at this twist
Score one for Aunt Olivia! She takes care of her girls
Emily is so awesome, and she’s basically worn a tiara is every scene in this movie. She wins
Connor looks really good in that jacket, it’s a shame the arms are three inches too short
”I know! We’ll draw attention from the too-small black sleeves by contrasting it with the bright white shirt underneath!”
At least they admit they barely know each other
How I Would Fix This With Fic: I don’t think I would, this one is really good!
Fics Like This: A Winter Wedding by ohcomely (Supernatural, Destiel), The Wedding Planner by Kelkat9 (Doctor Who, Ten/Rose), A Wedding Planner and A Divorce Lawyer Walk Into A Bar by TheBramblefish (Teen Wolf, Sterek)
