in the universe where all my shows exist in the same timeline, it's good to have something like Ghosts to springle throughout everything. for example, Fanny, she was in and about England, a family friend of Jeeves's of course. and that weird airport coup that Pat was caught up in? Thrush's doing.
though it still trips me up a bit that mash happened before any of mfu, but the nice thing with that is because Waverly seems so old, i can assume he and Henry Blake had some pretty good times, they're both american after all.
just rambling, don't mind me. i've said this before but Captain (james?) must have have some off days from the military during the 20s, might've gone sight-seeing, there he witnessed Biffy shattering that window and being dragged away by the police.
and just for fun, i'm gonna say that the Gays (Bertie's parents) were on that ship from 1899 (the not empty one)

i just noticed that the Thomas Thorne Affair would fit righ in with muncle episodes, title wise, and now i can't shake it
like on his trip to Italy or something Thomas carved his name onto some ruins and now Thrush has decided to hide a lab under there and name it after that mysterious name (Trush is guaranteed to have an eccentric grunge poetry guy in their ranks) when Illya reasearches everything about the place to prepare for the mission he comes across Thomas' poetry and he and Napoleon start absolutely dunking on it
alternatively the carving is besides a plant that has just been descovered to be poisonus under those conditions so now they gotta try to stop the spread of the Thorne variant

I started listening to the backlog of the Kill James Bond podcast (...thanks to @shapelytimber mentioning it on a Man from U.N.C.L.E. post I think)
I decided to look up the one guy the hosts kind of ~liked in From Russia With Love (it's Kronsteen. I *think* I once saw FRwL but it's been over a decade ago. So I did not remember people) and some of the pictures had Rosa Klebb in them and...
if Wikipedia is to be believed the character in the novel is "in her late 40s" but the actress Lotte Lenye was likely 64 or so during filming and if the date on the photo on her Wikipedia page is accurate, I think she was likely still made up to look particularly older/~ugly than the actress normally did!
talk about the misogyny in these films...
like, the one woman (at least in older Bond; idk about newer stuff) who is not there to be A Bond Girl™ and they made extra effort to make her look unappealing
(and, as mentioned on the podcast, Klebb is portrayed, subtly in the film, as a predatory lesbian :P )

Sharon Farrell
Tumblr media
Sharon Farrell (1940-2023): American dancer (ballet), model and actress (film and TV); seen here in a publicity photo for the Dale Robertson TV series Iron Horse (Season 1, Episode 18; The Pembrooke Blood, 1967), as Carrie. Ms. Farrell has 101 screen credits (65 TV appearances): beginning with Kiss Her Goodbye (1959), as Emily Wilson (screen credit: Sharon Forsmo); her final screen credit: Broken at Love (TV, 2013-2014, 2 episodes), as Grandma Geraldine. While her career spanned, primarily, the decades of the 60s through the 90s -- Ms. Farrell was most active in American television during the 1960s through the 1970s; she appeared on many TV series, as different characters, across multiple seasons: The Alfred Hitchcock Hour (1964-65, 2 episodes), Wagon Train (1962-1964, 2 episodes), Gunsmoke (1963-64, 3 episodes), The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (1964-1967, 3 episodes) and Hawaii Five-O (1977-1980, 3 episodes: SN 9/10/11 as different characters. 10 episodes: SN 12 as [Det.] Lori Wilson). Of course, Ms. Farrell made singular appearances on episodic television, such as: The Virginian (1967), The Wild Wild West (1968), Rawhide (1965) and Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1962). Ms. Farrell was a regular character, Florence Webster, on The Young and the Restless (1991-1997, 82 episodes). Sharon Farrell made fewer film appearances, but -- provided solid performances in studio productions: The Reivers (1969, as Corrie) with Steve McQueen and Marlowe (1969, as Orfamay Quest) with James Garner. Ms. Farrell is appreciated, by genre fans, for her work in Sci-Fi and Horror films, such as: It's Alive (1974, as Lenore) and Night of the Comet (1984, as Doris Belmont)! Sharon Farrell, standing at 5' 3" -- possessing enviable curves, a dancer's grace, a charming pixie quality and a lovely face (with a beauty mark) was a vivacious presence on screen! Ms. Farrell was adept at nuanced performances -- self-deprecating humor in light comedy or becoming a fragile, delicate beauty on the verge of a breakdown in dramatic roles; frequently she was able to present a dual nature within her character's inner life to surface at the appropriate moments of the story! As an actress, Sharon Farrell, is a living example of the Ancient Greek Mythology theater symbols of the Comedy (the Muse Thalia) and Tragedy (the Muse Melpomene) masks; Ms. Farrell was capable of both joy and sorrow -- often in the same moment in a scene, where other actors may choose only one dominant emotional base to draw upon and project to the audience, Ms. Farrell harnesses both basic human emotions -- seemingly without conflict or contrivance. Sharon Farrell may not have been a major studio star in her career, however, the body of her character acting is more than likely to establish a lasting legacy any actor would be proud to have in their biography.

Charlie and Bobby Being the Most Iconic Duo in Every Robert Greenfield Stones Book
-pg 24: “Drinking Scotch whiskey from a white paper cup in the dressing room after the encore is over, Bobby Keys shouts out, ‘Chawlie! Chawlie Watts! What do you mean, stirrin' up all these people like that?’
‘Naw, Bobby," Charlie says. "It was you. I saw you through the whole thing, just plottin' to make it happen.’”
-pg 28: “In a voice made far louder by the fact that he is now in England, Bobby Keys says, ‘Ah'm gonna burn down this goddamn hotel if ah don't find mah suitcase. Goddamn, ah'll throw Charlie Watts out a window.’”
-pg 62: “Charlie Watts is up behind the stewardess, shadowing her as she demonstrates the use of the lifejacket and the location of the emergency exists. ‘You cahn’t feel good today, can you?’ Charlie asks Bobby Keys. ‘Not after awl that drinkin you did las night.’ ‘Hell,’ Keys drawls, ‘it wasn’t the drankin. When ah got back to mah room ah found a gayng-bayng goin on. In mah bed. Chick looked lahk Joe Palooka.’ ‘Like who?’ Charlie inquires politely. ‘Lahk a bus mechanic,’ Keys clarifies, shaking his head sorrowfully at the memory of it all.”
-pg 64: “Backstage between shows, Bobby Keys puts on quite a performance of his own. Fixating on a girl who does some sort of clerical work for the theater, he decides to hit on her by saying, ‘Do you like rock 'n' roll? Do you watch TV? Do you like The Man from U.N.C.L.E? Well, that's Illya Kuryakin right over there. Turn around, Charlie, he's a little shy. Goddammit, Charlie, turn around!’
After doing so, Charlie disappears just as quickly as he can into the dressing room.”

NAME / ALIAS. Soma BIRTHDAY. November 25 ZODIAC SIGN. Sagittarius SEXUALITY.  gayest man you'll ever meet HOBBIES. ?????????? video games??????? reading about cybersecurity. i have absolutely NO idea what even classifies as a 'hobby' anymore. reading about video game mechanics in very convoluted fourty minute videos that get into such a specific and technical level that i forget what i was supposed to be focusing on is a hobby. what do you mean no one is interested in knowing about parallel universes in super mario 64 and that you need to move at a certain angle or you'll end up in a completely different map. if it wasn't obvious i enjoy watching speedruns/ TASes and explanations on how they do it. trust me it's fun or it wouldn't be my largest answer on this thing FAVORITE COLORS.  purple, black, red, gold??????? FAVORITE BOOK(S). the count of monte cristo & howl's moving castle. yes i know its two completely different genres do NOT question me LAST SONG LISTENED TO. Pain of Salvation - RESTLESS BOY  / Derdian - Lord of War LAST FILM WATCHED. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. INSPIRATION FOR MUSE(S). my entire spotify is what enables me to write tbh. MEANING BEHIND YOUR URL. it's the archaic / obsolete form of 'tyrant'. that's it. that simple

Character Actor
William Boyett (January 3, 1927 – December 29, 2004)  Actor best known for his work as the low-key but authoritative Sergeant William 'Mac' MacDonald on the police drama Adam-12.
In 1954, Boyett played respected settler Jim Hardwicke in the Death Valley Days episode "11,000 Miners Can't Be Wrong". It details the competition between  Columbia and Sacramento to be the capital of California. When he informs the sheriff (Glenn Strange) that he had killed a man in self-defense,  Hardwicke is forced to stand trial. Political influence coerces the jury to find  Hardwicke guilty. His lawyer, Ed Barrett (Gordon Barnes), develops a bizarre scheme to free his client from the hangman's noose. Barrett steals from a safe in the local bank a petition with 11,000 signatures of persons who want Columbia to be the capital, rewrites the first page to call for a pardon for Hardwicke, and appeals to the governor, who is impressed that so many signed. The governor orders Hardwicke's release, but Columbia loses out to Sacramento
Boyett was often cast as a law-enforcement officer, and portrayed that role in such diverse series as Gang Busters, The Man Behind the Badge, I Led 3 Lives, M Squad, The Detectives, Sea Hunt, Batman and Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.
Jack Webb, the executive producer of Adam-12 selected Boyett for the role of  Sgt. "Mac"  MacDonald after several performances (such as playing Sgt. Sam Hunter) in both iterations of Webb's Dragnet. (Boyett can also be seen uncredited as a Baliff in the 1954 movie version.)  Boyett stayed with the series for its entire 1968–1975 run. Boyett also supported Broderick Crawford in 64 episodes of Highway Patrol as either Officer Johnson or Sergeant Williams.
He also made eight guest appearances on CBS's Perry Mason throughout the series' nine-year run, mostly in law-enforcement roles. In 1962, he played slain police officer Otto Norden in "The Case of the Hateful Hero". The defendant was his rookie partner James Anderson played by Richard Davalos, cousin of series regular Lt. Anderson played by Wesley Lau. He also played a corporate executive, Buck Osborn, in the 1961 episode, "The Case of the Renegade Refugee". In the 1961 My Three Sons episode, "Fire Watch", he was a forest ranger.
Boyett appeared in a number of television programs, such as Official Detective, Navy Log, Laramie, Tales of the Texas Rangers, I Spy, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (uncredited; "The Secret Sceptre Affair" from 1965), The Andy Griffith Show, Family Affair, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, The Rockford Files, Star Trek: The Next Generation, The A-Team, Knight Rider, Rescue 8, Ripcord, Murphy Brown and Night Court. He also appeared in numerous episodes of Emergency! as Chief McConnikee of Los Angeles County Fire Department's Battalion 14. (Wikipedia)
