i get a lot of questions about which homer translations i recommend and what's the most "faithful" and it's kind of funny because you are asking a lay reader, so to speak. also you are talking to someone who grew up with biblical literalism and is constantly, actively deconstructing that approach to ancient, translated texts. i really think my personal fascination with translation is inseparable from that context. but since i can't completely step outside my context anyway, who's to say?

all this to say—being "faithful" to a text doesn't mean what i thought it meant, what i was taught it meant, when i was a child. translators have a lot to balance—how do you translate the meaning of the original, while also translating some of the feeling the original audience might have had, while also translating the metaphors of a world removed from the present? different translators put different elements forward. they may sacrifice what another translator would consider more important. to be sure, not all concerns put forward by a translator have equal merit. but they have to make choices, and they can't help but make choices. because they aren't separable from their context, either.

if you're interested in ancient literature, i don't think you should be searching for unbiased translations (which don't exist). i do hope you seek to understand what a translators' concerns (conscious or not) may be. and if you do that, and you care enough about translation work to read widely, you will intuitively learn more about the compromises and failures and successes of translation than i can describe to you, in my muddled way.

3. Don't like, don't read. The block button is your friend.

4. Reblog, don't repost. We don't steal content here. Always give credit. Which is also the reason for...

5. AI is not liked here. It is trained on stolen content. Just don't.

6. There is no such thing as a Tumblr influencer. Even our big names are just normal people, who just stick out due to longevity and/or weirdness.

7. Follower count doesn't matter. No one can see who has what amount of followers and we don't care.

8. Our "viral" posts are our heritage posts. Some might have breached containment and have been shared to other sites. We keep them going because we genuinely like them or want to keep the ancient magic alive.

9. Which leads to likes. They are nice and you obviously are not supposed not to give them, but they don't really matter apart from spamming the notifications of the OP. Reblogging keeps Tumblr alive.

10. We have our own holidays. Don't worry, you will not be forced to partake, but you will be confronted with them. Unless there is another round of The Boopening. Sorry, but no one escapes The Boopening! (Many prefer it to the Mishapocalypse, but this the SPN site, so never discount a Mishapocalypse. Or getting your news via Destiel meme.)

11. Our lore (Tumblr history) is wild. Stolen bones, human pets, dashcon, crucifix nail nipples, the bullying of John Green off the platform (the totally unrelated intern of a coffee company has forgiven us), female presenting nipples, Goncharov, crab raves... This site has been around for a very long time and a lot of us have been around for most of that. We are proud to have remained "ungovernable" and are unapologetic about it, thus we celebrate our history. Even the failures.

12. You can use the "discover" feed of course. But we basically only ever use the "following". No algorithm, just an endless reverse chronological scroll.

13. There is no verification system. We know that people like Wil Wheaton, Lynda Carter and Misha Collins are the real deal, because they verified themselves through other official means. Otherwise everybody can be whoever they want to be. Meaning also that you always should use common sense before chipping in with donations.

14. It's your blog, not some social media account. If you change interests (however often you want), just post about those. Your followers mostly won't care. Hell, about 90% of the blogs I follow have changed names, themes and topics so many times, I don't even remember why I followed in the beginning. (The amount of second hand knowledge about shows/movies I obtained...) If it gets too much, unfollow or block relevant tags.

15. Pixelated icons indicate that the blog has been flagged/self-reported as containing adult themes, mainly nudity. Goes back to great porn purge (see female presenting nipples). It's also why sometimes posts have pictures removed for going against Tumblr's content policy. There is still enough nudity going around.

New Desktop Dash, No Bueno

Okay so, new dash layout on desktop.

As seems to be a common reaction: not a fan.

Let's talk about some of the issues:

1. Really visually cluttered

The new sidebar crowds out the dashboard content and the bright blue popup notifications (now at the side AND top) and create-post bar pull your eyes in different directions. There is no space for the eye to rest on anymore - it's all noise. The end result is that everything flattens - there's no focal point anymore.

It's also pretty overwhelming - even for someone like me - so I can't imagine it would be very user-friendly to someone who was photosensitive or struggled with visual overload (especially when paired with the high-contrast 'true blue' default site palette and animated icons for the changes-on-tumblr/staff-picks/trending buttons).

2. The activity pop-up now covers dashboard content

This is really bad from a usability standpoint. In the old layout the activity pop-up used to drop down over the recommended blogs sidebar. Now it actively gets in the way of looking at core content. The dash is why we are here, burying it like this is baffling.

The search bar now drops down over the recommended blogs banner instead, but where the old design had non-critical space on each side of the dashboard to visually allow both features to pop in, this new layout is way worse for efficiency. And for what? Having a rarely-used former drop-down menu now permanently active? The old banner with quick-links for the key use-features (notes, messages, askbox) made much more design sense.

It also means that the activity pop-up gets now completely covered by the blog pop-up that opens when you click the notification, so double demerit there. 0/10.

3. It's harder to navigate to the activity page, and the new page-stretch means you can't see new notes without scrolling down

That first bit is kind of a nitpick but cramming the 'See everything' link down at the bottom of a browser window isn't a great navigation choice. (Again, the visual signifiers and eye-direction in this new design are incredibly poor.)

That the main activity page now requires you to scroll to even see the top note due to the new display ratio is really egregious. It makes another key site feature just slightly less convenient and accessible in a very irritating way. Bad choice.

4. The new ratio pushes the Radar and Main Sponsored slot completely off-screen

This one is directed the tumblr staff: that's also a bad choice, guys. That's your main ad-slot for people loading into Tumblr so hiding it is going to hurt both your ad-impressions and your ability to promote the ad-free option. The new layout ratio also means that the in-dash ads are going to be a lot more invasively screen-filling - and let's be real most users will either add-block or leave before purchasing ad-free. I have no idea what the new layout is trying to achieve but if ad optimisation is the goal then this ain't it, chief.

To be honest I cannot comprehend the rationale for this change. I guess it's visually a bit more like Twitter... but that site is currently being demolished from the inside by poor management decisions so maybe it's not the best aesthetic to be aping.

Well then, what do?

Okay so, new dash bad. And so, in true Tumblr spirit: we complain. However, to get results we must deploy the art of kvetching productively.

If you want the old dash back (or at least, a better new-dash design that corrects some of these big weaknesses) what you should do is head over to https://www.tumblr.com/support and lodge a feedback ticket pointing out the problems. The more users who do that, the more likely you are to see an effective response.

Remember, tagging @staff and @support in posts won't fix this. There's no guarantee they'll see it among the notes barrage.

Also: please don't be rude or abusive when you lodge tickets. Whoever is manning those blogs and inboxes probably isn't the person who forced through this change. Save an intern, be polite.

#1 - Imo, I think my post earlier about N's sm activity was misunderstood. ✌️ I get that this subject is a hot button because we love Lukola and can feel like bad shippers if we have conflicting feelings about the choices they make. But I wouldn't still be here after more than a year if I didn't still believe in Lukola and their love. In fact, not long ago I was accused of being Lukola PR and a cult leader lol and that came from a place of being strong in my Lukola shipping convictions. And I still am.

But I'm also a realist... so if you come on here to idealize Lukola, you may not always like my pov. They're real people to me w/ real lives and real feelings and real successes and real failures just like everybody else. I mostly agree w/ the post linked below ⭐️ - and if you disagree that's totally fine. We're all still shippers!

#2 - Now for what my post today was really about: a shift in N's social media behavior that may be related to the NDA obligations. I asked the following question at the end of the post: "... when S4 filming was ramping up, and she pulled back on it all, Easter eggs included... Coincidence or no?!?". So, to expand on that:

• It’s important to understand what the norm or baseline is for N, because in doing that you can understand or notice a change in behavior. Behavior changes tell a story.

• Fact is: N used to post alot during filming for previous seasons of BTON. This season, S4, she has not. The other cast members historically post less frequently than N or not at all re: BTON, and they have continued in the same way for S4.

• N posted Polin right up until Sept. of last year then it just stopped...

As @jmuz09 stated: "I was dismissive of it being part of the obligations but I completely flipped on that whilst looking at the tone of her posts in June - Aug 2024 [see original post]. I really think she pissed off A to the point where it became part of the obligations. A could have also pointed out that she does not have to post that much because other cast members don’t so it’s not expected"

• I'm uncertain of it being part of the obligations, but I do think N could've been restricted or even self monitored due to NDA re-negotiations in the Fall, meaning she decided to draw back (along w/ the Easter eggs) to "get this done".

#3 - Under this theory we're not bagging N for not posting BTON/ Polin at all. In fact, I think this shows her alot of grace because we're assuming the best about her. Per usual, we likely won't know the motivation until many months later (if ever) and we accept the reasons behind it either way. The comments are reminding me of a problem I've seen a lot online about consent regarding fictional characters. There is consent in fictional media, but it's not between the characters themselves or the characters and the creator. It's between the creator and the person who sees it.

The creator, when they put their work out into the world, consents to other people seeing it. You, as a person on the internet, consent to the fact that sometimes you run across things on the interntet that make you uncomfortable. Weather it's because someone didn't tag something they probably shoud have, because you didn't block a tag, or because you clicked on a link you really shouldn't have, you'll probably run across something you don't like. By being on the internet, you need to understand and accept that this is how it is. If something makes you uncomfortable, don't engage with it. scroll past, click the back button, or block whoever made it. If you actively seek out media or ignore warnings of something that makes you uncomfortable, then you are consenting to seeing it and have no right to complain to the creator about it's existance. You wouldn't go into a seafood resturaunt with a shellfish allergy and get mad that they serve shrimp. You just wouldn't go. If someone forces you to see content that they know makes you uncomfortable, then you don't consent and they're an asshole. But in that case it's still not the fault of the creator or the content itself, it's the fault of the person that made you see it without your consent.

So, if the person that created it consent and the person who sees it consent, then what about the characters depicted in it? Well, the characters in a piece of fictional media can't consent in the same way a dildo can't consent. They're not a person, they have no brain. The consent is between the parties involved that do have brains. It doesn't matter that if they were real they couldn't consent, because they're not real. Putting content of fictional characters on the same level as things that hurt real living people does far more harm than good, due to muddying definitions and accusations. If someone accuses a creator of being a pedophile, I have no way of knowing if they've done things that have actually harmed real children, or they just like art of a cartoon character. I shouldn't have to say why that's a problem. I know the people who do that probably won't bother to read this, but if you do please stop and think about the harm you're doing. If you really do want to stop people from abusing children, than practice what you preach and stop taking airspace away from actual victims.

(also, does that one guy in the comments know that rape kinks are super common and like, half of the population has one? I feel like they should know that.)

Tumblr Will Die

Ideally not soon but eventually it will be it due to a cultural shift, mismanagement, or being nuked for lack of profitability

This is why if you like the content you have made or shared, you should be exporting backups of your blog(s) (also good to do before Tumblr decides to nuke youR AccouNt becauSe the stars said your account was a threat to the dynasty)

On a real computer I beg of you, go to your tumblr.com/blog/blogname page, blog settings, scroll down and hit export. Sometime between a day and a week on average, that will turn into a download export button

You'll want to download it to a drive with decent space, and maybe then make a copy of the download to another location

You may already know this, and ideally, do it. Great. Wonderful.

What about your likes.

There is no export button for your likes. And historically, tumblr user's likes are in the tens of thousands of posts.

So what should you do?

Make a side blog (or use a url you've been squatting on if you're the type) and drag it near the top for your blog list for easy access.

Then go into your likes. And reblog. And queue.

You can post 50 posts a day from queue which caps at 250 posts.

You can also reblog 250 posts a day- this is total across all your blogs so depending on how you post you may want to reblog a few less a day.

Use the quick reblog feature and whatever tools you can to quick queue as well.

Dump. Your Likes. To A Blog.

'But OP, I have a billion likes it will take forever!' No it won't. It will take a long time, but I promise you can get all of your likes into a side blog and then export it in under a year*.

'That's a long period of time' statistically you've been here over a decade, that's longer

'I like over 250 posts a day!' Then get to reblogging those to your like blog when you see them instead of liking them

'This sounds okay, but how big will that download be?' Tumblr is an image heavy site. My like dump blog is sitting at about 24,000 posts, primarily images. The export is ~56GB.

'I don't have space for that' External hard drive (2x the expected size of your blog) and download the zip directly to it.

'I don't want to keep my likes/blogs' this post isn't for you. Go back to reblogging human pets and sexy trains.

*~90k posts can be reblogged in a year. If you have more likes than that, it will take longer.

You don't have to fill the queue every day, you don't even need to max your reblogs 24/7. You just have to keep at it, spam the place while you're scrolling on the toilet or whatever.

Just for the love of Katya remember to unlike a post after reblogging/queuing it.

Sometimes you won't be able to reblog a post. -If reblogs were turned off, you can save the image if you'd like. -If you were blocked by the reblogger, see if you can reblog it from a different person in the reblog chain. -If op blocked you, rip.

a bit over 100,000 (10 anime screencaps a post, mostly lowerish res like 480p, 10k+ posts) images on a specific blog of mine exports to about 67GB for some better ref of post to size ratio

WHEN you reached the end, you will notice your likes number is off. Sometimes it goes to the negatives. Sometimes it will be empty but still have a number. I have seen posts on my dash that I have liked when my likes are empty. This isn't common, but uh, prepare for that.

The reason you want a side blog is because you are spamming the blog, not tagging, or commenting, and on your main blog you're ideally tagging and sometimes commenting. And hopefully not spamming 250 posts in an hour?

Setting the queue to one hour usually early morning makes it easier keep track of 'new morning, another 50 spots free in the queue'

If someone follows your like spam blog? Their funeral. Or their party. Not your business- focus on reblogs

If you have not ever exported a blog and looked at the files- they're split into multiple folders- media and posts, and conversations if you've used that blog for messages

Media is Just the images/videos

The posts are the html files with the text of a post, tags, and any associated media. The formatting will not be nice, and and you will not be able to search the tags.

Conversation has links, the person you're chatting with labeled, and your...conversation. Time stamped

I WANT TO TAG MY LIKES/SORT THEM

Okay listen to me. You have a rough idea of what you have in your likes and what you may be able to group them into.

Make multiple like dump blogs. I have an aesthetic one, references, a few fandom specific ones, and a general.

You can then go through your likes and queue/reblog accordingly.

Pretty picture? Aesthetic. Anime? Anime blog. I have found its easier to commit to one idea at a time and scroll through your likes and focus on reblogging relevant posts to the specific blog rather than switching what blog you're sending a post to every other like.

This means once you're 'done' emptying your likes, your topics are in their own little folders for easy checking in the future. Probably best to keep it to under 10 topics to keep things simple.

The best time to start this was at the start of your tumblr career. The next best time to start is now.

Hi! So recently, there's a sudden wave of people faking screenshots in order to frame popular editors. These screenshot are obviously very fake and contain noticeable mistakes in them. Not only has user @//mwilkshke been targeted, but user @//vitalityharmonia, too.

CASE 1

This section of the post covers the fake screenshot targeted towards @//mwilkshke.

As you can see here, a user going by the name of @//nepetalaced accuses @//mwilshke of going into their inbox and calling their layout "ass."

There are so much mistakes with this image, but @//fufumio has summarised it.

With certain brightness filters and settings, it looks like @//mwilkshke's icon has been out onto that ask. Thus debunking this as fake.

Due to this stunt that @//nepetalaced has taken, @//mwilkshke has commented that they've lost mutuals and followers and are receiving death threats.

Later, @//nepetalaced has posted again regarding this Case labelling people as being ignorant and not wanting to believe their mutual -- referring to @//mwilkshke -- to say such statement. But this post has been met with more dismissment.

CASE 2

This section of the post covers the fake screenshot targeted towards @//vitalityharmonia.

Here, a user labeled @//saurusdactyle has accused @//vitalityharmonia of posting a controversial statement ridiculing new editors in the community.

As you can see in the screenshot they've provided, there are two obvious mistakes that can be pointed out, and I'll list them below as no other user

The icon of @//vitalityharmonia is blurred/low quality.

The three dots that should be after the 'follow' button are missing.

As of this post, the user hasn't posted further so there isn't much we can say about this. According to the user here, they've already specified they've been blocked by @//vitalityharmonia in a previous account and made a new one. I believe they've been blocked for a valid and good reason.

However, @//vitalityharmonia has received an ask assuming that they in fact faked the post for 'farming shame.' I do not believe this is true, as @//vitalityharmonia genuinely seems so sweet and nice and they express supportive traits to new editors. They also express feeling sorry for what @//mwilkshke is facing. Its just unlikely for them to do this.

The conclusion I can draw from both cases is that regardless if the accused users are innocent, they'll still receive hate in SOME form. For Case 1, @//mwilkshke has received death threats. For Case 2, @//vitalityharmonia has received accusations of THEM being the hater.

My theory is that this person is trolling and decided to post this at around the same time as Case 1 in order to make this seem 'suspicious' and make people skeptical of @//vitalityharmonia.

PSA: Please for the love of all that is hockey stop censoring the names of teams and players!

No, I'm not being sarcastic. I keep seeing this a lot on a ton of hockey blogs. (for example "d*nn", "p*tr*ck k*ne", "bl*es" or "v*g*s g*ld*n kn*ghts"), and honestly, it's really, really, bugging me, especially as someone who has some team lb tags filtered. I know most of you mean well, but this might not be the best idea. Even if you don't like saying their name. Even if you're censoring it as a joke. Even if you're worried about people you don't like flocking your blog (which, there's a block button for that btw). For one, Tumblr allows you to filter out certain words and tags. And people may already have specific players/filters tagged. If a post contains said filtered word/tag, it'll look like this:

The person has an option to view the post, via a button that reads simply "View post". End ID). By censoring them, Tumblr won't pick it up, and people will still see the post they don't want to see. Additionally, censoring words, especially l*ke th*s (like this) might not be helpful to visually impaired folks, especially those who use screenreaders.

"So, what should I do instead?" If you're talking about something a player did, here's some tag suggestions I have: If you're talking about a player who has assault or abuse accusations against them, you can use "tw assault", "tw abuse", "tw sa" (if the accusation involves sa), "tw violence" or "violence mention" (if violence is involved), or similar tags! If you're talking about someone who has a history of bigotry, try tagging "racism", "ableism", "homophobia", "tw slur" (if there's a slur involved), or other similar tags! I do see people use "tw (team/player)" as well (ex. "tw hawks", "tw auston matthews", "cw wilson" or "cw boston bruins") as well, however, I also discourage against that, because not every hockeyblr user has those filtered, and from my understanding they also aren't that well known. Again, simply tagging the players' names or the name of the team is enough half the time. (And, as a bonus, if you already have "tw (player/team)" tagged, instead of removing them, you can also simply add the player or team name to the tags!) If you're simply trash talking a player or a team... just say the name. It's not that hard, really. However, you can also tag the post with "trash talk" if you don't want people seeing it. Other good tags/words to use include: "rant" or "vent", which can be especially helpful to folks who dont wanna see huge rants, vents or complaints. "tw injury", which you can use to filter out videos or discussions containing injuries. "tw blood" and similar tags can also be helpful if blood is involved. "hockey fight", which can be used for hockey fights. Can be especially helpful since some fights get bloody and do lead to injury. Simply tagging "fight" can also work! "swearing cw", can be helpful for folks who don't want to see posts with heavy amounts of cursing. I advise only using this if there's excessive swearing involved, and not if there's only one instance of a curse word. "slander", which you can use if you're ranting about a player you don't like. And additionally.. "I don't know how filters work!" or "I don't know how to filter words/tags!" Alright so here's what you do: 1. Go to your user settings. 2. Scroll to "content you see". 3. Add the tag or word you want to filter, like this:

You might need to refresh for it to go into affect. Protip: Filtering out words will filter out all words of a specific phrase/name. I advise using "Filtered Tags" when filtering out specific players, teams and team lbs.

A big smile appeared on your face as you blocked your phone, Sunghoon always found a way to make you smile. Even though you were excited about the date, a little voice in your head kept telling you that it was a bad idea, he looked like he changed but you still didn't want him to hurt you again.

The memories from your old relationship with Sunghoon, the way he made you feel loved when you were together and the way he broke your heart kept you awake since the day he asked you out. “Heeseung isn't here yet, you think he knows what's going on here?” he asked, walking next to you as you both walked towards the main door, ready to leave the apartment.

“Well, I don't even know what's going on here…” you said lightheartedly, making him huff. “And he's pretty oblivious so I don't think he has a clue.” You finished, locking the main door before you both made it to the elevator.

“You don't?” he asked, looking down at you with a bitter taste in his mouth due to your joke.

“I mean… I don't know Hoon,” you shrugged, playing with your hands, “I'm excited about this but I also have mixed feelings because of our past.” You bit your lip nervously as you looked down.

“Hey…” the boy stepped in front of you, grabbing one of your hands as the other made its way up to your face. He placed his index on your chin, making you look up at him as he took his thumb to your cheek, caressing it gently. “Let's just forget about it and focus on the present, okay?” You felt the hurt in his voice and the way his lip was slightly trembling as he talked.

“I know it's hard but trust me, angel,” he leaned down, kissing your cheek softly before he whispered in your ear. “I promise I'll give you the best night ever and I won't ever hurt you again, princess.” You didn't know what to say, you just felt your heart racing as the doors opened. Sunghoon smiled at you, mumbling a soft 'let's go' as he pulled your hand, making you walk next to him before you both left the building.

Once you were in the boy's car, he smiled mischievously, noticing how quiet you got. “Cat got your tongue?” he teased, earning a weak punch on his arm.

“Where are we going?” you asked, ignoring him.

“Mm, well,” he chuckled, leaning closer to you and opening the glove compartment, taking a piece of cloth from it, “you'll see, I need you to wear this…” You raised an eyebrow, trying to hide a smile.

“What? Are you joking?” you asked, trying not to laugh as your eyes went from his face to the white silky cloth.

“Yn, I want it to be a surprise,” he pouted at you, giving you his best puppy eyes. “and I don't think you'd be able to keep your eyes closed the whole time.”

“Alright!” you rolled your eyes, chuckling as you stole the blindfold from his hand, wrapping it around your eyes and smiling at him. “Happy?” you asked, pretending to sigh.

“You're the best,” he replied excitedly and pressed a soft peck on your cheek, making you blush. “You're gonna love it,” he mumbled, starting the car before he drove to your destination.

Around forty five minutes later, you were feeling butterflies in your stomach, not just because you didn't know where he was taking you but also because you were excited about your date with him. You heard him pulling over and getting out of the car. He opened the door for you, grabbing your hand as he helped you to get out.

“Can I take it off already?” you asked him with a slight pout. Sunghoon chuckled at your expression, wrapping his arm around your waist before he locked his car.

“No~” he cooed, “we're not there yet.” The boy guided you inside a building, you could tell from the difference of temperature. The next thing that you felt was a ding, “be careful,” Sunghoon said, confirming that you got on another elevator.

“Where are we?” you asked curiously, playing with one of his hands, making him smile widely.

“Shut up, we're almost there, baby girl,” he whispered in your ear. “I think you'll love it.”

After a few minutes, the elevator stopped on the right floor, Sunghoon guided you into the place. The boy moved behind you, untying the blindfold as he captured his lip between his teeth nervously. You kept your eyes closed as he put the piece of clothing in his pocket, “you can open your eyes now.” he whispered.

As soon as you opened your eyes, you saw it. The penthouse was still the same, it was decorated just like the night you met him, except for the table with candles and flowers right in the middle. You took your hand up to your mouth, covering it as you sighed, feeling your eyes getting blurry from the tears of happiness.

“Sunghoon?” you whispered, still shocked from his sweet gesture, “is this?” You wanted to say something but the words didn't want to come out of your mouth.

“Yes, this is the penthouse where we met,” he wrapped his arms around your waist, hugging you from behind as he placed his chin on your shoulder. “One of the best nights of my life,” he whispered in your ear.

You turned around, facing him. The boy's eyes were just as teary as yours but he was smiling. You wrapped your arms around him, hugging him tightly as you hid your face into his neck. “You're so amazing,” your voice cracked, “this is… I don't know what to say, it looks exactly the same.” Sunghoon nodded, holding you closer to him as he pressed a soft kiss on your head. “I saw a picture of it and I tried to recreate it, I'm assuming that you like it,” he smiled, kissing your forehead.

“This is so beautiful, Hoonie, thank you,” you whispered against his skin before pressing a soft kiss on his neck. The boy pulled away from you, looking down as he kept smiling.

“We should sit, I made your favourite food,” he took you to the table and you both sat down. The dinner was filled with his usual dad jokes, delicious food and drinks, laughter and lots of flirting. There was a spark in Sunghoon's eyes, the same spark that showed up every time he looked at you when you were still together.

You could feel his intense gaze as you talked about something random that happened during the last concert. The way he admired you even when you were rambling without making any sense due to your own excitement.

“Hoon, are you even listening?” you chuckled, tilting your head as you were now feeling the heat on your cheeks.

“Um, yeah,” he licked his lips, trying to get out of his trance, “you said something about Jake forgetting his underwear at the bar?” He tried to guess, making you laugh again.

“That was like five minutes ago, I'm talking about Heeseung,” you shook your head, pretending to be disappointed in him. “You didn't listen,” you pouted, trying to mess with him.

“I'm sorry,” he apologized, “it's just- you look so beautiful right now a-and I just got lost in your eyes and the way you talk.” You saw him blushing as he stuttered and tried to avoid your gaze.

“I was just messing with you,” you smiled at him. You noticed that his hand was still on the table, so you reached for it, taking him by surprise as you intertwined your fingers with his. “You're cute when you get nervous, you know.”

“I'm not nervous,” he chuckled, “well, just a little but it's definitely unrelated.” He squeezed your hand gently before he rubbed your hand with his thumb.

“Oh?” you frowned, watching him curiously, “why are you nervous, Hoonie?”

“I umm…” he took a deep breath, “I'm sorry, I truly want to apologize.” He mumbled, earning a confused look from you.

“Apologize? For what?” you had a slight suspicion of what he meant but you wanted to hear him.

“I want to apologize for everything,” his voice broke as the tears started running down his face. “I'm so sorry for hurting you, for what I told you the night that miss Kim kissed me. I'd never cheat on you, I was just mad because I felt like you didn't trust me.” he talked fast, sounding desperate and truly sorry.

“Wait, what do you mean she kissed you?” you asked whilst you started to feel your heart breaking as you watched him crying in front of you.

“She was so obsessed with me that she wanted to ruin our relationship… So she kissed me as soon as she saw you but I pushed her away and ran after you.” You could see the pain in his eyes as he talked. “That's what I tried to explain that day but then you said that and I just felt angry cause I thought you didn't trust me.”

You felt the tears threatening to fall, tears of relief and happiness with a hint of pain and remorse. “I was such an asshole and a bad boyfriend for getting mad at you when I should've been there for you, I should've hugged you.” He started to cry harder, making you burst into tears.

“I should've done something, I loved you so much and I never told you that, I never showed you how much you meant to me, yn,” you squeezed his hand, trying to show him some support while you couldn't talk. “I still love you.” His last words made you get up from your seat.

You wrapped your arms around him, pulling him as close as you could as he buried his face in your chest. He wrapped his arms around your waist and held onto you as he kept apologizing.

“Hoonie, baby, it's okay,” you brushed his soft locks with your fingers and kissed his head. “I was wrong too, I'm sorry for not letting you explain, sweetie.”

Sunghoon looked up at you, his nose was red, just like his eyes as he whispered. “But I got mad at you when you needed me, I was such a bad boyfriend.” You shook your head, still brushing his hair before you moved your hands to his cheeks, cupping them as you wiped his tears away with your thumbs.

“Hoonie, you were the best boyfriend I ever had, I'm sorry for not letting you explain and I'm sorry for hurting you as well.” you mumbled, leaning down and pressing your forehead against his.

“I don't deserve it but… can you forgive me?” He asks in the tiniest voice that he had.

“Of course I do, as long as you forgive me too,” you mumbled, pressing a soft kiss on the boy's cheek.

“Yn… I still love you and- I- I'd love to try again, if you want me back of course.” he looked at you with a light pout.

“Of course I want you back, I missed you so much, my love.” you whispered, making him smile.

“Can I…?” he shyly asked.

“You've done it a lot of times and now you want to ask?” You replied teasingly, making him giggle before he captured your lips in a sweet kiss. You kissed him back as he pulled you down to sit on his lap. It was the sweetest kiss you ever shared, you could feel his love in every move and you made sure to put all your love in it as well.

Your hands went from his cheeks to his nape, where you played with his hair just the way he liked it, making him pull you closer to him as you kept making out. But this wasn't just another makeout session, this time, you both were taking your time, trying to demonstrate your feelings to each other with just a kiss.

After a few minutes, you finally pulled away, smiling at each other. You saw his lips, red and swollen, and you knew that yours were just the same or even worse. The kisses were cute and soft but Sunghoon was still a biter, just like you.

“You were right,” you whispered against his lips, “this is the best date ever.”

“Well, we aren't done yet,” he smiled softly and pecked your lips again. “Get up.” You obliged, completely oblivious from what was about to happen.

Sunghoon grabbed a microphone, smiling at you awkwardly before you heard the melody of Puzzle Piece by NCT Dream. You felt your heart skipping a beat when Sunghoon started to sing, his voice was so sweet and completely hypnotizing, he was amazing at it. The tears started to run down your cheeks pretty quick, ruining your makeup.

Sunghoon looked at you mesmerized as he sang the song with all his heart, meaning every word that came out of his mouth. When the song finished, he left the microphone whilst you ran the two meters that separated you, hugging his neck as you kept sobbing.

“I hate you, I spent like two hours in my makeup,” you joked, still touched by his gesture and amazed by his beautiful voice. “Your voice is so amazing, Sunghoon what the fuck? You're so good.” His cheeks get red as he wraps his arms around your waist, pulling you closer to him.

“Thanks, means a lot, especially coming from you, angel” he smiled softly, rubbing your back delicately.

“But you're so good, you should sing with us at the bar!” you exclaimed excitedly but the boy shook his head.

“No, there's a lot of people there, I don't know if I'd be able to,” he giggled nervously.

“Hoon, you're a model and a figure skater, you're literally famous!” you rolled your eyes playfully, “and I definitely know that you're not shy at all.” you winked at him, making him smirk as he nodded.

“Alright! Maybe I will…” he leaned down, kissing your lips softly just to shut you up. You kissed him back, smiling into the kiss as you played with his hair. He captured your bottom lip between his teeth, pulling on it before he completely pulled away. “You're so gorgeous, my angel.”

“No, I look like a mess, my makeup is ruined,” you pouted, earning another kiss from the figure skater.

“Shut up, you look beautiful,” he left a chaste kiss on your lips. “My pretty girl~” You felt one of his hands leaving your waist. He took his hand to his pocket, looking for something. He pulled his phone out, putting on a playlist and you instantly recognized the first song.

“Death of a Bachelor? Really?” you asked him as he pocketed his phone again before he shrugged.

“It's the song that made me fall for you that night,” he started dancing to the melody, keeping both hands on your waist.

“You're the cutest,” you smiled at him, following his steps.

“Not as cute as my pretty girl,” he smirked and leaned down to kiss your cheek, “you look even better like this.” He kept leaning until he was close enough to whisper in your ear, “next time I see you like this, it'll be because of my cock.” You punched his biceps playfully, making him laugh.

“You're such a pervert,” you whined. “We were having a cute date, dumbass!” you laughed with him, shaking your head.

“We're still having a cute date!” he exclaimed, smiling widely, he really enjoyed teasing you. “And if I'm not wrong, you're also a pervert so… it's fine!” you shook your head as you both kept laughing and dancing.

After a few hours, you were resting your head on his chest as he kept his chin on top of your head whilst you danced to a slow song. You felt comfortable and warm with your old love and you only left his arms once to fix your makeup.

“Are you tired, baby?” he asked softly, leaving a soft kiss on your hair.

“Mhm,” you nodded, “can we go home now?” you couldn't help it but yawn, making him yawn too.

“Of course, my love.” He pulled away from you, grabbing your hand and intertwining your fingers before he took it to his lips, pressing a soft kiss on your knuckles before you both left the building.

It was around 2AM when you came back to your shared apartment. Sunghoon walked you to your bedroom door and kissed you one more time.

“Hope you sleep well, my pretty girl,” he tried to pull his hand away from yours but you didn't let him. Instead, you held his hand tighter as your free hand tugged on his wrist, pouting at him.

“Stay the night please,” you whispered, watching his mouth curve as he happily smiled.

“Sure!” he exclaimed, feeling shy at his sudden excitement, “if that's what you want, of course…” You laughed at him, trying to play cool when you knew he was just as excited as you.

“Let's go to sleep, ice prince.” You pulled him inside your bedroom before closing the door. You both got changed into your pajamas, both being Sunghoon's shirts that he lent you during the last months. You got in the covers, feeling Sunghoon's arm finding a comfortable place on your waist as you cuddled against him.

The figure skater stared into your eyes as he drew invisible patterns on the fabric, wishing that it was actually your skin. He leaned closer, pressing his forehead against yours.

“This is so nice…” he whispered, his eyes traveling to your lips. “I really missed this, I missed you.” You smiled, cupping his cheek with one hand.

“I missed you too,” you whispered before kissing him softly. He kissed you back, tilting his head to deepen the kiss as he pulled you closer to his body. After a few minutes, you pulled away but that didn't stop him from leaving soft pecks on your lips, making you giggle. “Hoonie, let's go to sleep.”

“Alright,” he mumbled between kisses. “Just one last kiss,” he said, stealing another kiss before he pulled away, holding you closer until your nose brushed his neck.

“Hoon, what are you doing?” you laughed against his neck, making him shiver.

“I just want to keep you close and warm~” he pressed a soft kiss on your head.

“Okay, good night love.” You mumbled, nuzzling his neck and making him shiver again.

“Stop doing that, you know my neck is sensitive!” he whined, making you laugh.

“I'm sorry, but it's your fault for keeping me so close!” The boy rolled his eyes pretending to be annoyed when he was actually enjoying the whole situation before he yawned.

“Shut up, let's go to sleep,” he mumbled, smiling as he shut his eyes.

“Good night, Hoonie,” you whispered before you both fell asleep in each other's arms.

one. due to the nature of my roleplaying style, there will absolutely be mature (please keep reading to know what this means) themes here and there on this blog. i’d like to stress that i will not usually be comfortable roleplaying with muns that are under the age of eighteen (18) so please understand my confidence / comfort-ability is all based on how i feel around the mun. as this character is underage canonly, there will be no smut writing on this blog. any NSFW content will be only gore/horror related, not smut related. the mun is FAR over the age of 21 (i just turned 31) and just isn't comfortable writing that sort of thing with a character who is originally the age of 12/13, even if aged up. ya nasties. stop sexualizing children.

two. this is a selective/private blog. i really only roleplay with mutuals, however you’re more than welcome to reply to any of my open starters if i specify that you can but just know i might not reply because i (1) don’t know your muse, (2) have zero muse for the reply and will get to it later, (3) have no interest in the thread, or (4) am uncomfortable with something on your blog. roleplaying is also a hobby for me. i work full time and sometimes i genuinely cannot reply fast. if you hassle me to reply to things, i will not want to roleplay with you and it will turn me off from roleplaying with you completely. in fact, if you harrass me to reply to threads, i will automatically unfollow you because i’m not about that life of being pushed to reply to things. if you spam my follow button to try and get my attention, that will result in a soft block on your behalf. please don’t test my patience. if you do not have your ooc name on your page i will not follow you, due to me thinking hiding your ooc alias is shady and sketchy af.

four. tagging triggers is something that means a lot to me as i am not comfortable with needles or puppets on my dashboard so i blacklist needles tw and puppets tw. i know it’s weird but hey, we all have our things. please let me know if you need anything tagged- even if i don’t personally follow you. you deserve a clean and safe dashboard to roleplay in. warning.

I wish people would keep DNI's to their own pages, rather than putting them on every single selfship post.

I hate when I see an imagine that I would otherwise reblog, but it has a big DNI at the bottom.

My blog doesn't have a DNI, and I don't want to endorse the DNI's of other people or make any of my followers feel unwelcome because someone else's DNI is on my blog, so I just don't reblog those kinds of posts.

(I mean on some level I don't think DNI's are even that effective in the first place. I kinda just wish people would block blogs they don't like or agree with rather than calling for a public harassment campaign against them. I suppose on some level this technically makes me "proship" in the literal sense that I oppose harassment over shipping, but I also don't actively ship the kinds of things proshippers are supposedly known for, and I understand why they might make people uncomfortable, so I guess I'm neutral? I just wish people would use the block button instead of creating this atmosphere of exclusion. We all just want to imagine our F/O's; we shouldn't have to agree on everything to reblog an imagine.)

This is all a very fair point to make, anon! I also recognize the hornets nest *I'm* kicking by answering this ask. I have an opinion that...well, a lot of users won't like, probably. But I'll be the first to say it if not the only one. (And let me preface this, because some of you will take this as an opportunity to harass me. I'm not on either side, neutral, or adjacent at all. I do not associate myself with discourse, this is known!) DNI's to me, are extremely performative (Especially DNI banners, what's the point?). And yet, everyone has a general DNI. I do! But I do recognize how performative it is at it's core, I have one to try and attempt to what everyone else does, keep the bad eggs out. But, we cannot control people, we can't ever know who anyone is truly through a screen. Using your own judgement to weed people out is and will remain the best solution for personal curation of your own space. I can't trust a good chunk of this community because I know I'd get taken advantage of in one way shape or form, it's happened to me multiple times already. I will also say that not having a DNI might inherently outcast you from the general community due to everyone's fear of somehow supporting a bad person, or alternatively attracting people you might not want to interact with you, so a lot of people have DNI's, but don't like having them (Myself included). I don't usually answer asks that blatantly claim their stance, or blatantly oppose a stance. This blog is entirely discourse free, and I want to respect absolutely everyone who is worthy of my respect(IE, people who aren't causing harm, people who aren't assholes for no good reason). I also cannot control who does and doesn't interact with my blog, unless I catch them by chance (I see too many accounts fly by in my inbox to keep track, ya dig?) If i see someone I don't agree with interacting with me, say someone who I genuinely believe to be abhorrent with their behavior, I block them. It's not my job or responsibility as a community self-shipping blog to build people's spaces for them. That's their job. This is why call-out/block-lists posts are not my gig, nor will they ever be. They're also performative, and spread a type of negativity that I just simply wont ever promote in a place of comfort and safety. I'm not entirely sure either, but even to me reddit feels more like a brother than twitter will ever be. Let me see if I can put my feelings to words here.

For starters, Reddit and Tumblr are a lot more similar than Twitter and Tumblr, mostly due to the fact that while the tag system can sometimes just Not Work, our culture here is to divide ourselves in communities, be it by fandom, general interests or simply a circle of mutuals.

Reddit has also always had subreddits dedicated to keeping up with tumblr nonsense since forever, sharing a lot of our popular posts over there. The people from these subreddits are and essentially have always been tumblr people, they just never used the app itself - they're in with the jokes, they get our way of speak, they're laid-back and very relaxed and most of all they are all pretty much queer and leftist as well.

Tumblr has also always had a good relationship with reddit from what I can tell. They're not the type to come over here to argue just like we're not the type to go over there to argue. Our content that goes over to there is almost always curated by a number of tumblr users who are posting there, too.

Twitter, on the other hand, is a lot less similar to us. They are less about communities dedicated to things specifically and more just about groups of individuals with big accounts.

Do they have accounts dedicated to tumblr nonsense there? Yes, but these are manned by, normally, only one person who may or may not be a tumblr user or is most likely taking posts from reddit to bring there.

It also doesn't help that twitter is The place to go and find celebrities, which makes things toxic very fast as opposed to places like Reddit where celebrities don't go to often unless it's for an AMA. Having celebrities and popular internet people breathing down your neck tends to make you insufferably aware of your own words and actions, which leads to my next point:

Reddit might be full of bigots, but twitter is 100x worse. Reddit also has a lot of left leaning people who won't be sliding into your dms to ask you to censor the word rape on your most recent post, twitter is the opposite.

There's also the famous porn ban too, where the most insufferable people from tumblr moved to twitter to start anew. These people ended up fitting right in with the crazy lot that lives there and that's why twitter has gotten even crazier in the past few years while tumblr has grown mellow.

I think that's about it? I don't exactly know how to explain it, but I do feel like reddit is a much more welcoming presence than twitter peeps will ever be, given they're chill and more laid-back and already know how to press the back button and block if they get annoyed/offended by something. Twitter doesn't know any of that, which is why I'd rather they stay there.

Let's Play Some $#!7! - Split Attention: Tavern Talk's Demo + Spiritfarer - Part 2

Come join me for another episode of Let's Play Some $#!7 | LPS$, where I play games to provide commentary to educate on game development! Provided I don't get too caught up in the game to comment, which, in a sense, is commentary in and of itself. Today, we finished playing Tavern Talk's demo! It was first introduced to The Weekend Game Show | WGS via Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 14, TIMESTAMP: 1:50:50! I had to cut it short due to the "30-Minutes Per Demo" rule. Another reason I finished the demo was to make sure I did the game as much justice as possible. 

Now, I didn't call this stream Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD because I want this game. After I get it, it'll be a regular feature on the show. And, since the demo was finished quickly, I also played Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition! It was first introduced to The Weekend Game Show | WGS via Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 3! Part 1 was an LPS$ stream. And, had I known how short Tavern Talk's demo was, I would have finished it during the first playing of it. I was RIGHT THERE towards the end!

With all that out the way, here are my opinions, via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich": Tavern Talk drink-making mechanic is the most unique I have ever seen. Being able to feed Abdu a small amount of the drink we messed up instead of starting over is SUPER convenient! And the fact how much of each ingredient to use is dictated. And the Quest board is a nice touch as well, though, did the demo block us from putting up more than one? Because I would click on the board and it would just pull up the journal. That made me sad. Also, there was a random apostrophe facing the wrong direction. Despite those little things, I can't WAIT to get my hands on the game! I hope Fable does well... I hope I gave her the right drink... Spiritfarer is a delight! It's a cartoon-looking game with cussing in it! What a PLEASANT surprise! Especially since, I, as an adult, don't bother to look at the maturity rating. It was also refreshing to see a game of that type of art style throw a curveball like that. The talk about capitalism being horrible is a boon, too! One change I would make is to have in the Updates portion of the... journal?... either include Improvements or have a separate section altogether. Hopping back up to the BLUEPRINTS every time I forget what I need to make is time-consuming and irritating, considering how little time we have in the day. And is there a button to turn off excess animations? I don't need to see the "waking up" and "getting stuff out of the oven" animation every time. Clock's ticking and I have things to do! Those irritants won't stop me from continuing my personal playthrough, though!

READ ME FIRST

Hiya :)

Welcome to The Universe Said, an interactive fan comic about the various series that Legundo has done. There is an overarching plot that does largely hold base in the function of the 100 days multiverse, however due to a simple unwillingness to horribly mischaracterize any of the characters in these worlds for the sake of plot, be prepared for the use of OC's. Also I got fun with the worldbuilding, it's an incurable disease.

IF you happen to dislike crossovers, OC's having a role in plot, or the mangling of canon, you likely will not enjoy this comic. This means that you have the simple option to instead click off, or block this blog. I won't be mad, I promise!

YOUTUBERS.

Hi! I see you. I know some of you exist on this webbed site. If you see this, interact at your own risk! I mean it. I don't know the extent of which you care for your characters and how they are interpreted and portrayed in media, and I'm warning you now! All of them are likely exaggerated to some extent, either for character conflict, plotline, or for sillies. The above note applies to you too. If you dislike this comic, you are welcome to block the blog as you wish. If there is something that makes you uncomfortable, you are welcome to let me know and I can retcon it as necessary, or again. I will politely point to the block button. My feelings will not be hurt.

Other notes

This is fairly self-indulgent. I like crossovers. I'd very much like to have fun with this, and as such, there will only be so much tolerance for anybody who stumbles across this and decides the correct response is trolling.

Something I'm going to emphasize here is that these are based off of characters played by the youtubers present. If there is no line for me to draw between character and youtuber their presence in this will either be non-existent or minimal.

Also, due to the currently unfinished nature of the 100dmv series, I am running with some of my own theories, but will be doing my best to keep some worldbuilding* largely canon compliant.

I intend to post information blocks about the OC's present in this as they come up and as information regarding them becomes relevant. Along with the prologue, I intend to post a small excerpt about the worldbuilding I've done.

This is intended to follow a kind of chaptered line. I have a brief plan for certain points to reach in each chapter before I will move onto the next. You will know when the current chapter will be finishing. Also, only the opening posts for each chapter will be maintagged as to avoid clogging it. I've seen it happen, people were grumpy

On that note, Chapter openings and chapter closes will be drawn in a higher quality than the majority of the comics.

Each comic will be tagged with the relevant chapter as well as a general story tag. Anything not comic related will be tagged with something else. Haven't decided what yet.

I will be adding more than just various Legundos. Characters from related Scenarios, and Dominion SMP may also make an appearance. I have a few in mind already, but that gets to stay secret for now ;)

*things such as how Decem, The Alterans, mystery 3rd party multiverse agency (????) interact with the world, though again. I point to the potential mangling of canon.

Final points, and Rules!

The askbox is not a place for trauma dumping, expression of personal political opinions, hate speech, bigotry, or other forms of hate.

If you have a problem with the way I am doing something, you are welcome to bring it up in the askbox, however keep in mind I am allowed to disregard it.

Yes I know the artstyle/character designs are going to be inconsistent. Woes of a constantly developing art style I guess.

I highly encourage you to share theories! On literally anything related to this. Worldbuilding? Character dynamics? headcanons? The OC's? 100Dmv series? Go for it!

At the beginning of each chapter, there will be a short list of all characters currently available for interaction. Any time a character is added to the scene, an updated note about current character availabilities will be posted and added to this post.
