Genuine question here I’m not asking in an aggressive tone the way fans often do when they hear anything negative about their idol lol. But could you tell me how top is misogynistic or has been? Also I do remember the young actress he acted a bit weird around however I don’t know if it’s just me but I don’t think he’s a full blown creep that likes literal adolescents. I do believe he prefers younger women for sure though (early 20s). Also with that actress whilst he did act a bit peculiar I sort of think maybe he was just playing around, perhaps she had a crush on him and it came off wrong?
Here's what was said by him: <When T.O.P was asked about working with Kim Yoo Jung, he said, “Our maturity level is similar, and we’re like friends. She actually has a sort of charisma that makes me act cute around her.” He then briefly demonstrated how he ‘acts cute,’ drawing a lot of reactions from netizens about how he and Kim Yoo Jung look really good and cute together.> I don't like to believe he's that much of a creep either, I also personally can't relate to feeling this way ('maturity level is similar'? really?) about someone 10+ years my junior. He gives me misogynist vibes in his way of being. The way he talks about women (Tazza interviews, his lyrics) and the way he's treated them. It seems trivial but even his scenes in the Loser and BaeBae MVs. We know BigBang have input on their output so I can't believe he was forced or given these scenes. And it's funny, to an extent, but then you look at his dating history and past remarks and it just gets kind of.. annoying. I think he's got major daddy issues he takes out on women and is also a mommy's boy/has a weird mom. I think a repsectable woman could definitely sort him out, as in he has potential and deep down knows right from wrong, but he seems to avoid respectable women like the plague. Like a lot of men. For whatever reason.

Currently I'm re-reading the 'Captive Prince' trilogy and I just wanted to talk about something I've noticed, namely Laurent's appearance and how people portray him.
When I browse the net in search of some fanarts of him, 90% of the images show him as this lithe figure next to giant Damen. He looks more like a teenager, thin and potrayed as a typical sub from manga. And it makes me extremely frustrated since it's nothing like him.
First of all, as it is said in the books, between him and Damen is about a foot of a difference in hight, or even less, according to Laurent. So it's roughly 30 cm. Especially if Laurent is the one right. Let's assume that Damen is +/-190 cm, 6'3, and Laurent is 1 foot shorter, he will be 160 cm, 5'3. That's pretty short, so I'm willing to trust Laurent that it's less than that. Or Damen is actually 6'7 / 200 cm high (that would be something) . But then again, 170 cm?, I believe he is a tiny bit taller than that. But what's more important, his hight DOES NOT influence his body shape, short(er) doesn't mean fragile looking.
Secondly, as Damen said himself, Laurent doesn't have a look of a boy, but of a man. Young and beautiful, but a MAN. He is slim, slender, but well-proportioned, with a strong upper body. With an upper body of a soldier. Which means he is not this straight (ekhem...) stick figure that most of the people portray him as, but he has quite a bit of a muscle mass. And to fight Damen he must also possess a lot of strength ( well... it wasn't really a straightforward fight, but he withstanded quite a bit of the sword clashes, so... ).
What's more, as a rider myself, I know how much leg strength you need to ride a horse and be excellent at it, so even though his legs are slim and long, he has strong leg muscles- and by muscles I mean well-defined and visible muscles. Let's take the people who train equestrian vaulting as an example. They are slim, they must be, but just take a look at their actual body shape, or even bare muscles, it is SOMETHING.
So arriving at the actual point, I just wish that people would stop drawing him as this sub-manga-style character. He doesn't look like this at all. His physique, even concealed by clothes, should not be this weak and boyish-looking. And it's less about his actual appearance and more about the idea behind it. Gay relationships or ANY type of a relationship should not be fetishised. Gay relationship is not some anime/manga fantasy where we have masculine dom and his lover, sweet sub. It's NOT like this and I wish people could see past this illusion which is so widely favoured. This story is about two strong man, who experience a lot of pain and grow stronger thanks to their bond and love. And I wish that this would be the main idea behind those creations, not just this fetishised image of two guys straight from manga. Both of them are strong men and we should pay tribute to that. And I just want to make it clear that I'm NOT saying that all of the people who draw them/him like this have this kind of view on this topic. It's just that, unfortunately, there are way too many that indeed do. Instead of putting their affection first, people think about the sexual aspect of their relationship and use this as a guideline to create their appearances. And that's is probably the bottom line of my whole 'rant'.
Side note, I don't mean to sound critical, it's just my share of thoughts. I admire every artist who wants to show their love for this trilogy by drawing them, or any other characters, and it's something I will never criticise (I might not like some of the images but it doesn't change my attitude towards the action of creating it). It's one of the ways in which people show gratitude to the artists, or just want to express their emotions, or whatever the reason is, it should never make them ashamed or doubt themselves.
And this is purely my own opinion, or something I observed I wanted to address. But everyone is free to portray him as they wish and they are completely free to do so, so please, don't be too offended and come at me for being a "hater". I don't hate at your art or the way you see them, unless the way you see them comes from fetishasing gay relationships. Only then I have a problem with you.
