The Robots of Dawn:
Elijah: am I gay for Daneel? Am I in danger? Is loving a robot weird? Which urinal should I use? Is someone going to kill me while I pee? I'm scared of rain.
Dannel: what a cool case with all my best friends
Giskard: get me out of here

Sometimes you have to learn to shut your mouth when you're in the wrong place.
or you'll look just as stupid as Marzón

Every time I see Nick Valentine fucking inhaling Takahashi's noodles, I think of this scene in one of the Isaac Asimov Robot Series books (it was either Caves of Steel or The Naked Sun) where detective Elijah Bailey and the android Daneel Olivaw are at a restaurant and Baley is surprised that Daneel eats and swallows like a human, but what really gets him is later when Daneel opens his fucking stomach panel and throws away the masticated food T_T
So anyway I guess I lowkey headcanon that this is what Nick does.

I, Robot (1950) by Isaac Asimov
Cover art by Stephen Youll
Bantam Spectra, December 1991
The Three Laws of Robotics: 1) A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2) A robot must obey orders given to it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3) A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. With these three, simple directives, Isaac Asimov formulated the laws governing robots’ behavior. In I, Robot, Asimov chronicles the development of the robot from its primitive origins in the present to its ultimate perfection in the not-so-distant future—a  future in which humanity itself may be rendered obsolete.s

So I'm slowly getting back into sci-fi (and Azimov's books specifically) and I gotta know if the fandom is present here (I charm ye tumbler to show me the content).
Also, I remember that when I was first reading the Robot series I didn't really understood the whole R. Daneel Olivaw hype, cuz I was genuinely in love with Elijah Baley. Later in the series I understood why people like him so much, but he still was on the third place for me, cuz R. Giskard Reventlov appeared and took the second place. Detective Baley is still my fav tho, even up to this day
As such I wanted to ask

I think the reason why I love The Robots of Dawn more than any book from the robot series is bc Elijah, Daneel and Giskard have such dynamic that reminds me of Kirk, Spock and Bones... They really are the blueprint

This is more of a representation of the origin of the rivalry. I might even make a comic about this friendship before it became what we see in the comics.

Daneel Olivaw [The Robots of Dawn by Isaac Asimov, 1983] to Detective Elijah Baley on the subject of their friendship:
"I cannot say what I feel in any human sense, Partner Elijah. I can say, however, that the sight of you seems to make my thoughts flow more easily, and the gravitational pull on my body seems to assault my senses with lesser insistence, and that there are other changes I can identify. I imagine that what I sense corresponds in a rough way to what it is that you may sense when you feel pleasure."
Data Soong [Star Trek: The Next Generation in ep. Legacy, 1990] to Ishara Yar, on his definition of his friendship with Geordi LaForge:
"As I experience certain sensory input patterns, my mental pathways become more accustomed to them. The input is eventually anticipated and even 'missed' when absent."
