not to take away from charles’ well deserved spotlight in ep3, but man. imagining the devlin house from edwin’s perspective is pretty damn rough in its own right. but in a way he doesn’t even seem to realize or process. like specifically, mainly, the fact that he stands there, unfazed, watching this family get cut up with an axe over and over and over. you know who else got cut up and torn apart and killed over and over and over? you know who else was stuck in a seemingly unending cycle feeling the pain of dying every single time? oh yeah

Hey guys, I was recently reminded of a headcanon that's been microwaving in my brain at the mention of kids in the grove (thanks pespillo) but I think kids born in the grove tend to get weird powers and blessings.

See, kids being born in the grove is pretty rare. (we barely see any in-game besides the three from Milldred.) The grove's population is small, even outside the characters we physically see (I'd estimate like... 200-400 people tops?), and most of them came over from outside and decided to settle there, at least for a little while. So when a child is born, it very easily gets the attention of the gods. Mixed with the grove being a holy place, children usually wind up receiving blessings in the vein of semi-magic powers and mild immunity to severe physical damage. Why wouldn't more people come over to have their babies born in the grove because of that? Well, these blessings are pretty well known to be unpredictable. And the kids with them are known for being a bit...
