actual semi-analysis~ skip if you bored heh

on a genuine note, (of course as someone who cannot speak and understand japanese) i think i (like usual) prefer the japanese one but also because i think his personality and demeanour suit his voice being higher?? it just works for me. his voice in the en dub, while good and yummy ;), feels very low and just - cowboy. he is very serious, comes across a lot more serious than in jp<- whereas the japanese voice feels kinda unique to him, and a kinda blend of seriousness and this touch of 'crazy', like he has a bit of a screw loose and it feels a lot more like he's a bit of a loose canon and unpredictable, which i think is what theyre going for with his characterisation?? like the characters act a bit o.o around him a bunch of the time until they get used to that *just being the way he is*, right? and him having this intonation fits perfectly with that, i feel. its a bit silly and goofy but then he'll get all serious on you and whip his gun out and youre like uhh is he fucking with me or is he fr lol. i like that. it also makes it a lot more juicy when you get to the bottom of him (teehee me first) and he is sweeter and gentler and wants connection, yknow?? just feels better to me
