Hi Sam! 💛 I'm going through a couple of major life changes right now which are just, eating up all of my time and none of it is bad, but it’s why I’m so late getting back to you on this (although pls do not let it stop you from coming in my inbox! I love chatting w you and anyone else I just might have really slow response times for a couple weeks!) how are you???

Okay so I tend to start coming at this from a set/details/cast point of view and my thoughts on it are - Eddie is just. SO MUCH FUCKING SOFTER in s4 around Buck. Like he's always been heart eyes McGee, but the depth and the level of love he has for Buck is just astoundingly deeper. I could pull so many receipts on myself where around 4x04 I’m just?? baffled at how much softer Eddie is and I have no idea why (JOKES ON ME, P SURE IT WAS THIS). So I think the writing room told R.G. that something was going on with Eddie. I don't think the reason Eddie held off was bc the writers themselves didn't know. I'm not entirely sure if they knew it was a WILL that changed things, but I think they made an active choice to change Eddie's actions towards Buck to be more romantic, and softer, bc they knew Eddie was going to hold onto something big with Buck, which culminated in the guardianship-in-case-of-tragedy reveal end of s4, when they thought it would fit best for BOTH Eddie and Buck.

And then emotionally, I DO agree with you on that Eddie didn't want to put that pressure on Buck. I think it started bc basically as soon as Eddie has a chance to decide he’s going to do this legal mumbo jumbo guardianship change, Buck starts freaking out about Red. And Eddie, I think, was simultaneously like, ‘okay I know Buck CAN turn this down but he won’t, and he’s dealing w a lot right now so I’m not going to add this on’ and also ‘I’m going to wait to tell him til it’s final, so that he knows I’m not going to back out of this, it’s a done deal’, and probably also ‘I’ve never been this emotionally intimate with another person literally in my entire life, I have to give myself a chance to build up to it’.

And then before it’s done, they meet Abby again. And Eddie is NOT the sort of person to be explicitly personal at work - he’ll talk around his personal issues, eg talking to Brian during Jinx, but he doesn’t really come right out and pull a Chim or Buck and tell people all about his life. So he’s not about to open up in front of SAM of all people and tell Buck why he can’t risk his life recklessly like that.

But then after that, Buck settles into this period where he actually ISN’T being risky. He explicitly tells Bobby he’s okay now, and it’s absolutely reasonable of Eddie to assume he got closure and he wasn’t looking for validation through danger any more. Hell, Buck even gets a therapist! (Which side note - we never see Buck tell ANYONE Dr Copeland’s name, not even Chim and Maddie when he talks about it, but Eddie knows it in 4x04! So I like to think that while they were quarantining together, Buck told Eddie he was going to see a therapist, and that’s why EDDIE never teases him about his “lady friend” on screen okay side rant done lolllllllllll) So I think at this point, to Eddie, it’s awkward to say anything NOW it’s been so long, and besides he himself isn’t going die anytime soon it’s not a big deal right? (WRONG EDMUNDO).

And of course, Buck does risk his life in Buck Begins/factory fire, but it was really only dangerous bc HE didn’t know where he was, and he couldn’t get them out. It wasn’t as scary I think, to the rest of the 118, bc they could go get him - they had time to do that, so I don’t think Eddie really thought of that as Buck risking his life so like, he can keep this to himself still right? (Um sure I guess but like - EDDIE MY MAN!!!)

And then after that Buck still isn’t risking his life, and nothing crazy has been happening w the 118 - I think if the bomber had been the s4 plot, then I think Eddie would have told him earlier, bc Eddie would have KNOWN that someone was killing people at random in the city, but no one had any idea the sniper was a thing, so Eddie just kept going, keeping it a secret.

Because at this point, I think Eddie has at least a small inkling of his feelings for Buck. Giving your best friend your KID is a really big deal, and I’ve seen several posts talking about the fact that it’s basically a love confession. For anyone else sure it might just be a matter of paperwork, but for EDDIE - that was him giving his heart to Buck. And I think he just wasn’t ready to have that conversation with anyone, esp given the fact that he has the safety net of KNOWING Buck won’t give Christopher up. If Eddie died, and Buck found out that way, it would be awful for Buck - but it wouldn’t be something that could make Buck give Christopher up, so Eddie *technically* didn’t even have to tell Buck.

So TLDR - I think it started as Eddie not wanting to pressure Buck before it was official, ESP since he was panicking about his place in his family’s lives. But then I think it changed into ‘well he’s being safe, I’m not in danger, oh shit this is a Big Deal™ actually, I’ll tell him when I’m ready’ and the sniper ending up forcing Eddie to be ready - both bc Eddie almost died AND bc Buck was acting stupid again.)

Sorry if that was like, 10x more word vomit than you wanted - I just think this show is fantastic at giving characters complex emotional journeys and reasonings without having to be explicit about it, and I can’t just sum that in one paragraph I guess 😂

Do you have any advice on starting a fic? I haven’t written anything creative in years (10-15?) but I’ve got this vague idea of something I’d like to try. I am simply overwhelmed with how to start not only plotting everything out but just writing again.

firstly I’m so excited for u, it’s such a crazy good feeling to start writing again after a long time of not doing it and I think the main main main thing that’s good to keep in mind as u get started is that ur allowed to just have fun with it and u don’t need to worry about how it sounds. Definitely don’t compare it to anybody else’s writing or set any kind of bar for yourself to achieve. if ur anything like me you’ll get incredibly discouraged incredibly fast if it doesn’t instantly sound like final draft poetry and that’s just silly!!!

as far as getting started, I think what I’d tell u to do is not try and plan. Dont start outlining or plotting if that feels daunting right now. I guarantee u there is no writer alive who instantly knew what their whole story would look like before they even started outlining. Pick whatever scene is in ur head (or even whatever vague emotion you want to convey that’s got you excited and is making u feel like writing) and write THAT. Don’t even bother with a “proper” beginning to the scene. Just jump in mary catherine Gallagher style and start writing whatever is right there at the forefront of ur mind. Not only will that feel fun and not stress out bc you won’t have to stop and think and be tempted to plan, but personally I think we do our very best writing when it’s something that we’re super excited about and if u haven’t written in a decade, it will be so so good for ur creative self esteem to see what u put down on paper (screen) when it’s not being forced out of u in the name of plotting or outlining or starting a scene from the beginning rather than where ur brain feels like starting. If that makes sense. Sometimes if im feeling rly stuck but I have some vague idea of smth I want to write l, I’ll just start writing dialogue and see what happens. you should see the rough drafts @dracoladon has sent me before she fills in detail and exposition and action etc and we all know her final drafts are genius tier.

Find what makes u excited, makes u WANT to write, and do that. Plotting, outlining, that can come later if it feels scary to u. There’s no proper formula to writing, there’s no law that says u must start at the beginning of a story or of a scene or that u have to have any idea fully formed in ur head before u start. It could even be helpful to start with something that has nothing to do with ur idea: place the characters (assuming ur talking Harry and Draco but if not, whatever characters u fancy!!!) in a setting you like and explore it. Put them at the beach, in a forest, walking around, find out what they’re doing as u write. Enjoy doing details and aesthetics and dialogue before u worry about the heavier stuff. Once you dip ur toes in, and once u feel ready, then start outlining or plotting or whatever is best for u. I personally have a really hard time outlining and rly enjoy just writing scene by scene usually. If I start trying to force myself to do smth I’m not comfortable with, it instantly drains me of muse and I don’t wanna write anymore.

Tl;dr try not to stress about plotting and outlining and formulas. Write what ur excited about and let that help u figure out where ur going next. If the very last scene of a fic is what’s in ur head and ur excited about, write that. Even if u have no idea how they got there. Find what makes ur fingers itch and follow that. I really hope this helps, please let me know how it goes, I’m very excited for you!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I don’t think any overtly crazy happened during the good!TVD years. No wait, I’m lying.

The year the spin-off got announced, I believe it was tvguide, that posted an article with like info tidbits for currently airing shows. And one of them, was that Hayley was pregnant with Klaus’ kid. I remember this shit so clearly, man. Everyone was so confused. And then they were like SURPRISE, APRIL FOOLS. Because it was in fact April 1st. So ha-ha we all had a laugh, great. Fastforward to what, late April? Episode 4x20 airs, and it’s exactly what happened???

That whole day btw, the day the backdoor pilot for TO aired was just insanity. I’ll say that about a lot of days in this answer, but that day was really just something else. Like we were delirious, that’s the only way I can explain what happened on here. It was a nightmare but also one of the funniest night’s I’ve ever spent on here. I gotta go back for old time’s sake and reblog some of the shit from that night because we all snapped. And not in the good way. 

The TVD 100th. Now, we knew Joseph was coming back for that episode so they hype was real. Because up until that point, we’d gotten a huge load of nothing in regards to Klaroline. They released a trailer, a short one, that’s still in my favorites folder on youtube to this day. I rewatch it all the time because it’s iconic. And there was literally .002 seconds of Klaroline. It’s Caroline standing and then Klaus says “hello, caroline” and everyone lost their shit so much when it dropped that ‘hello caroline’ trended ww on twitter. 

THE DAY THE NETWORK THAT AIRED TVD IN AUSTRALIA AIRED A PROMO WITH THE KLAROLINE KISS IN 5X11. ICONIC. I literally woke up, logged on at around 11 AM my time, and my dashboard was on fire. It was the BEST. We didn’t know wtf to do, it was amazing. 

Paleyfest. Ohhhh buddy, lemme tell ya. So TVD/TO got chosen to have the CW panel’s at Paleyfest that year. Everyone was on a bit of edge because TO to that point was what, almost done with S1 and Klaroline had been given the mega cold-shoulder despite being the very thing other than the Mikaelson’s that got used to lure people in? After the pregnancy plot from hell, everyone was ready to peace tf out, but we got halted because it was a ‘ohh of course it’s gonna continue’ then they tried to nip Klaroline in the bud with 5x11 and no one was having it. So Paleyfest was where we were gonna get some ANSWERS, DAMMIT. I live on the east coast and the festival was held in the west coast so I wasn’t awake when it was happening. I remember making a post about how ‘going to sleep, and hoping when I woke up the answers were good.’. So I went to sleep, woke up a few hours later like 2-3 AM my time, and checked my blog and the first message I had was ‘don’t wake up stephanie, everything is a mess, stay asleep where everything’s fine’ I—

The gist of that was, they basically set JoMo up to be the bad-cop in shutting down Klaroline. He gave this long answer that made absolutely zero sense. The girl who asked the question about Klaroline, who was like 13 at the time, got called a bully for even asking a question at an event she paid to be at. A mess. And JP was like NO CROSSOVERS, ORGANIC, BLAH BLAH. And Paul was sitting next to her going “why can’t the show’s just intersect”, he was right and he said it. 

I can’t remember if this was S1 or S2, but somebody tweeted something and Carina replied ‘when you’re found dead in your basement with klaroline written on you this is why’ or something like that, that was a ~fun~ night. And then like half an hour later she was like “I’m sorry, I’ll never tweet about Klaroline again just leave me alone” if you’ve ever seen this fandom refer to ourselves as basement dwellers, this night is why. 

NARDUCCI. Can’t forget him. Talk about a man who just didn’t get it. And I don’t mean Klaroline, he just didn’t get anything, nothing in his head has ever clicked, I’m convinced. He used to pick fights on twitter repeatedly. Admitted once that he missed his flight because he was on twitter…arguing with a fan. AND ONE DAY, he decided to just—snap. Went on this hours long tirade against the Klaroline fandom, essentially calling everyone stupid because no one was appreciating the ‘art’ of the show. So when I say it lasted hours, I mean that. Now, you’d think, that he would be done, right? WELL, apparently that wasn’t enough, so the next day, he continued. I remember because I was in this gc on whatsapp, and I remember Erika sending a message to the gc going “omg, Narducci vs KCers round 2″ when I tell you I screamed. The man went on a two-day rampage against this fandom and it was insane. 

S6/S2 of TVD/TO was not a fun time. I can genuinely say it was borderline a chore to come on here during that time. It wasn’t fun, every day someone was in argument with someone from production on twitter. Truly the worst year of the fandom, imo. So S7/S3 rolls around and that’s where shit went nuclear. 

Hillary and I, are minding our own damn business, when someone come’s to us with information regarding the new seasons. This was post-SDCC, so it’s like the lull of September, waiting for the seasons to start in October. And we get approached with information, talkin bout how Caroline’s gonna be pregnant with Alaric’s twins in S7. When I tell you we didn’t know wtf to do. And we had to like wait on confirmation about it but then we found out it was legit and we were pissed. Literally ask us if we wanted to be in the spoiler game, the answer is no tf we did not. And she and I basically spent two days complaining. LIKE UGHHHH WE DON’T WANNA DO THIS, BUT ALSO THIS IS DISGUSTING, WE CAN’T JUST LET THEM SPRING THIS ON EVERYONE, BUT AGHH WHY US. So we chose collectively, as a duo, because das my other half yo, to blab. 

That went over as best as anyone could hope for it to go. Now, flashforward yet again, this time to around late Novemeber/December. I had been sent word that something was going down. TVD/TO lost their Thursday slots and got bumped to Friday’s, so a plan was going on, and they made one. We’d heard that they were rearranging something mid-season because they were gonna make a crossover work, publicly we found out it would be Paul and JoMo that crossover back-to-back. THEN ONE NIGHT—I call it black friday bc  that day was a fucking mess—, a friend of mine was friends with an SCer, I wanna say, and she was hearing word that the crossover did have Klaus and Caroline interact via phone call, but that it was very definitively an ending. Because they spoke about Camille and Stefan, etc, etc. Like a closing of the book type thing. So okay, we were like devastated, everyone on twitter was losing their shit. Everyone was pissed, and @-ing the writers all these crazy, sad things, we were a wreck. Ask Hillary about this night because she, I remember, describes it as ‘logging on and reading what everyone else had and not understanding why tf everyone was mad about it’. It was the first and last time that our roles were reversed, and bless her for it. 

SO WE’RE SITTING THERE, it’s Saturday, and we kept getting more information and we were like…something isn’t right here. So we did a bit of digging, spoke to a few people and waited it out. LO AND BEHOLD, everything we’d heard about the phone call was false. There was a phone call but the CKers and SCers were so mad about what was actually said in it, that a few of em, ring leaders of the feeble minded, made up a version and passed it around their fandoms as legit till it eventually worked it’s way over to us. So we all jumped the gun on fake information, lmfskdnknsks. Rumor has it, you can still hear Hillary yelling ‘I told you so’ at me through our group chat. 

So all was well, I couldn’t tell everyone why not to panic, just that they didn’t need to. Until, this account popped up called tvdspoiler or something on twitter, also saying false information about the phone call. Sending everyone into a panic yet again. I remember this because I was at  kmart with my mom, and the kmart by my house was in a basement so I had no cell service. I was able to send like a couple of messages, and was basically like ‘tell everyone to chill, I’ll clear it up when I get home’ did that in like a couple of hours cause then I had to leave to the midnight showing of the force awakens with my friends. So that day was chaotic, but fun. It was the first time I reached 99+ messages on my inbox, lmao. 

So that all happened like a good while before we actually saw the episode. But cut to a few weeks later. I woke up at 1 AM my time to drink water, was on tumblr trying to go back to sleep. I checked my inbox and there was this bizarre message talking about ‘got some scoop’ and they were like ‘Finn dies in 3x17, Aurora gets put into some weird sleeping spell in 3x18, Camille and Davina die in 3x19, Lucien dies in 3x20′ and I quite literally laughed??? Literally who wouldn’t. Like who tf would ever believe TO had the balls to do all of that when they never killed anyone off. AND, WHO WOULD BELIEVE THAT SOMEONE WOULD JUST STOP BY, SHARE IT AND LEAVE. So I sent a screenshot to Hillary and was like ‘yo did you get this because wtf’. We often got duplicate messages. And we often got messages of people who were pissed about the two previous times we, from the klaroline fandom of all places, had legit info that wound up being true, that they were just waiting for us to fuck up. So we used to get messages of people pretending they were sharing info, and it was just antis trying to make us look stupid. 

SO, Hillary says ‘just answer it because it’s obviously fake’ top ten moments before disaster. I answer it and am like oh haha, and where did that info come from. And they came back like a minute later, saying ‘I have a source’ THEN THEY ELABORATED. They mentioned that Lucien drags Freya and Vincent to Mystic Falls to do this spell with some bullet and etc. So at that point we were like fUCK because that same day we’d found out was in 3x16, which ended with Lucien and this white-oak bullet, having kidnapped Freya. And that’s when we knew, that someone showed up in the middle of the night, spoiled the whole back-half of TO S3—and then left.

The back-half of S3 was so fun??? Every week the info just kept coming true. On the wikia everyone hated me, probably the most anti messages I ever had was during that time, honestly it was great, 10/10 would recommend. 

THEN, at some point in our blog history, Hillary had been getting quite a few messages about PT. And she had this fucking line in one of the messages about Phoebe’s pronunciation with her accent for the show, or lack thereof. And she said “weeches and woves will always have a place in my heart” SO THEM PHOEBE TWEETED IT. THAT EXACT LINE, and we were like was she...? So we shrugged off okay. A few days later, she tweeted “hellsbellschime enough, there’s plenty of other things to watch on tv, I hear mad men’s great.” And I—

THIS WAS ON SOME RANDOM ASS SUNDAY. Like I was lounging around, waiting for the new episode of game of thrones and then WHAM, chaos. AND AS IF THAT WASNT ENOUGH, Leah joined in too. Putting a target on my friends back...about her blog that no one was making them read. You can’t make that shit up. And Jenn actually replied to Phoebe’s tweet and got a reply back, and she was all “you’re right, I’m sorry” and then deleted the original tweet, which I still have a screenshot of btw. And then Leah showed up in Hillary’s inbox with this ridiculous three part ask about how she shouldn’t criticize women in the acting industry because of how hard it is for women in that industry which is true, but it doesn’t make you exempt from criticism??? So not sure where she meant to go with that one.

Although, I also would’ve loved to be able to live in the ’20s. Great Gatsby made me dream countless times of all the amazing parties, with jazz playing in the background. The fashion was impeccable, and of course, to be alive at the same time as F. Scott Fitzgerald. I could even run into him at one of those glamorous parties. 

If you could restart your life, knowing what you do now, would you?: I don’t think I would. Life has taught me some valuable lessons along the way but I was happy. Even when surrounded by those who didn’t have the best intentions in mind. If I had known all that I know now, I wouldn’t have lived as freely and carelessly as I did. I cherish those memories, even if they weren’t the best for me.

Would you rather fight 100 chicken-sized horses or one horse-sized chicken?: Alright so… that’s a weird one. And what makes it weirder is that people have made that same question with me; it was either one horse-sized me, or 100 me-sized horses. Huh… I do have some background with chickens chasing after me, so I’d go with the 100 chicken-sized horses.

If you were a trope in a teen high school movie, what would you have been?: I would 100% be the sucker that falls for the bad boy… ah… how I miss the high school bad boys.

Do you believe in aliens/supernatural creatures?: I don’t. Although I have no problem getting lost in those amazing universes where such creatures exist.

Do you write fluff/angst/crack/general/smut, combo, etc? Why?: I write everything. So far, in the 2 years, I’ve been writing, I have experienced a little bit of everything. I think writing all those genres are important to complement the story. 

Do you write OCs, X Readers, Ships...etc?: I never wrote anything that was mxm but I am ok with that. Besides, I have two stories out with an OC and the others are mostly with female readers, mostly because I write thinking about me with a member or one of my friends.

Why did you decide to write for Tumblr?: I was already using Tumblr to read other people’s work. When the thought of starting my own writing blog came to mind, it seemed the most logical option to use. I have only recently learned about AO3 so… yeah, Tumblr seemed the most “at reach” app.

When did you post your first piece?: The first thing I wrote was called Wonder and was posted on a private blog. I started writing it a couple of days after Euphoria by Jungkook BTS came out.

What inspires you to write?: Everyday situations are always a good base for me. I like to write moments that I have gone through. Besides that, I find inspiration on movies and tv shows and some Pinterest albums. Sometimes it’s just a random thought that comes to mind ehe

What genres/AUs do you enjoy writing the most?: I’d say college/high school aus. I did a collab with another writer from a college au and it was a lot of fun. Additionally, I have some wips I am meaning to work on and will soon be presented on my blog! 

What do you hope your readers take away from your work?: I think that I wanted them to feel okay. Life can get pretty hard and reading, for me, has always been like a getaway. So, whenever I write, I hope that I can distract my readers from whatever is happening in the real world. 

What do you do when you hit a rough spot creatively?: Whenever I’m struggling in life, it’s almost as if I lose my ability to write. I get really stressed, especially when I set deadlines. I try my hardest to push through. I believe that writing, even if it’s not to our liking, is better than doing nothing. I try to read more, to sleep better, and to seek inspiration. 

What is your favorite work and why? Your most successful?: I don’t think I have a “most successful” work. I am pretty recent to Tumblr and am still growing bit by bit. As for my favorite, I’d probably say Dr. Love. It started out as a fun Valentine’s Day fanfic and I have some good stuff outlined.

Who is your favorite person to write about?: As I said, I love to find inspiration in my friends. Getting the feedback and how much they enjoyed reading what I wrote really is a heartwarming feeling. 

Do you think there’s a difference between writing fanfiction vs. completely original prose?: I don’t think they are so different. Because when writing fanfiction, you’re not obliged to go 100% with the idol’s personality you’re writing. You have the freedom to marvel around in the worlds you create and make them do whatever you feel like would work best. So sometimes, it can be just like creating a whole new character from scratch. 

What do you think makes a good story?: There’s a lot of things that are needed to make a good story. I mostly value the storyline. I don’t like it when things are rushed and prefer to read something others may find unnecessary but get more context. I love the small little details about characters that make me relate and emphasize with them. Also, a plot twist. I love to read stories that completely blow my mind and catch me off guard. Creativity is everything.

Would you ever repurpose a fic into a completely original story?: Why not? I don’t have a problem with giving different names to my characters as long as the story stays the same.

What is your writing process like?: I prefer to write at night. But, as I said before, sometimes there’s just an urge to write and I have to grab my laptop, or even the pull out the notes on my phone and type out some words for the story I’m currently working on. I try to create a coherent storyline as well. Plus, I have an amazing beta reader that always helps me with the plot and hears my ideas and complements them. 

What tropes do you love, and what tropes can’t you stand?: I love the typical “good girl falls for bad guy” trope. I don’t care if it’s cliché, I just love it. Although, I hate those where the girl is portraited as weak and as if she would ever be completely happy and fulfilled if the guy is by her side; as if she’s helpless without him. Girl power you know? Aha

How much would you say audience feedback/engagement means to you?: It means A LOT. I think there’s no better feeling than receiving a piece of feedback, despite how small it might be. There’s always room for improvement and just the simple fact to know that someone took the time to read my work and found it interesting enough to send me their thoughts, I really cherish it.

What has been one of the biggest factors of your success (of any size)?: I believe that my growth for the past months I’ve been on Tumblr could be due to how active I am. I always try to engage with the people I follow and even when I’m not posting my works, I try to be around. I have big dreams for my blog and hope to one day have a large audience to read my stories, but for now, I am happy with the ones by my side already.

Do you think fanfic writers get unfairly judged?: Yes. A lot of people think that fanfic writers are mostly horny/crazy teens that are obsessed with some famous wannabe that couldn’t even care less for their existence. I think that’s one of the biggest issues with how society sees us. But I consider those to be amongst older people (perhaps 40+yo). 

Do you think art can be a medium for change?: Of course. Art is one of the most personal ways of showing emotions, I believe. Being brave enough to show with the world your creations takes courage and I admire those who do it proudly. Art can be interpreted in so many ways; it overcomes all the barriers that there might be. 

Do you ever feel there are times when you’re writing for others, rather than yourself?: The feeling can get to me sometimes but I immediately shut that down. There was a time when I was forcing myself to write things I didn’t appreciate or that didn’t follow my storyline just to make others happy and I had to give up on those projects quickly because it was driving me insane. I strongly believe that if we don’t write what we are passionate about, it will either come out sloppy or we will hate it. Writing what we like, even if some might consider it bad, is what we should do.

Do you ever feel like people have misunderstood you or your writing at times?: I don’t think so. Although, I don’t receive as much feedback as I’d like to, so I’m not certain. 

Do your offline friends/loved ones know you write for Tumblr?: Only my boyfriend does and he’s totally cool with it ehe

What is one thing you wish you could tell your followers?: A big big thank you! I am so happy to have you here and I hope you can take some time to read over my works ehe I am always open to talk if anyone needs~ 

Do you have any advice for aspiring writers who might be too scared to put themselves out there?: Just do it!!! I know there are so many great writers out there and you might feel like you would bring nothing to the game but that’s not true. You don’t need to be scared ok? It will be alright. Just give it a chance. There was a time where I was scared too and now I have made so many great friends and meet so many great people through my writing. You can make it too!

uh, i don’t have one? i mean yeah, i’d love to be a writer, or game dev, or a narrative director on a game, or direct, write, or act in movies or television, but like…i could live without any of that stuff. i just want to make a decent living, be able to own a house, not completely hate my job. yknow, not a glamorous life but a good one.

oh man, uhh i really enjoy writing chrissy & theo. they both speak to me. but tbh i’m not much like any of my characters? i’m boring af so i tend not to make any like me lol. i am kinda like theo in the sense that i’m quiet, and really just try to be a good person. other than that i’m most like jason solely based on the fact we’re both human lol

19. what’s the worst injury you’ve ever had ??

thankfully i’ve never really hurt myself too terribly except for a broken wrist, but between the ages of 10-17 i’d occasionally hurt my back by sitting weird, usually in an attempt to play video games without the glasses i desperately needed lol. once when i was like 11 i laid belly down on the couch with my elbows up on the arm of it for like three hours, which messed me up for days, then a few other times i hurt myself, but another bad one when i was 17, i had my back curved while sitting and propping my laptop up on my knee, tried to move and literally just cried, crawled on the floor, and laid there all night until i forced myself to move in the morning. lol luckily it hasn’t happened since i lost a little weight.

20. what’s a random or interesting fact about you ??

uhm, nothing? i literally can’t think of one, i’m dull af. i uh.. i replaced my own cpu cooler once? lmfao

21. do you listen to music while you write ??

sometimes. a lot of time i just like the silence or ambient background noise, but if i’ve got a fitting playlist for the vibe of what i’m trying to write, i’ll use it!

22. are you a morning, day, evening, or night writer ??

i’m a never writer, apparently v___v but lol ideally a night writer, my best work is between the hours of 12am & 4am, but my sleeping schedule is so inconsistent, and so is my dad’s who spends literally every waking moment of his telling me different stuff he wants done, so it’s tough to hit that sweet spot. i write whenever i get a chance tho.

23. have you ever roleplayed intoxicated ??

lol nah i’ve never even had a drink. like what teenager doesn’t have a drink at some point?? i told you i’m lame.

24. what language or languages do you speak ??

english, barely. and assassin’s creed 2 taught me some italian swears. and ac: odyssey has had me occasionally dropping “malaka” bombs since the day i first played it haha.

officially, about 9 years. i started at 11 on myspace, rping dragon ball z stuff. but basically about 12 years, if you count how from the ages of 8-11 i’d put an anime pic up on my myspace, pretend i was older, and talk to roleplayers i didn’t realize were roleplayers lmfao.

26. favorite roleplay genre ??

i like pretty much anything, tbh. as long as it’s well thought out, has an interesting plot, or whatever. sometimes it doesn’t even need that, it just needs to catch my eye or line up with something i’m looking for. but yeah, supernatural, multi-fandom, sci-fi, romance, town rps, high school/college rps, anime rp (well, pokemon mostly), harry potter… i’ve done it all tbh and don’t particularly have a favorite.

27. one sound you hate & one you love ??

the sound of cotton stretching is the absolute worst thing to me. or scratching cotton. idk, it just sends chills up and down my spine and makes my hands feel weak lmfao. i’m weird. i really love the sound of rain, or fire crackling, or like “ambient” harp or ukulele music.

28. do you believe in ghosts ??

short answer, yes. long answer… i’m pretty sure i was friends with a ghost girl as a kid?? like no joke, even looking back at it through rational “adult” eyes, i’m still convinced. my fam moved into a new apartment, and pretty much right after that i started having dreams about a girl my age at the time (11-12). i’d never seen her before but the dreams would be like just conversations, like i was visiting a friend or something. i don’t remember them much, but i do remember the feeling of someone else in my room all the time, like you know how if someone else is around you just know even if you’re not looking at them? like that. there was even one night i was getting in bed, laid there a minute, and then i could have absolutely sworn somebody came in the room and sat down next to me on the bed because i felt the bed sink a little under their weight, but i looked and no one was there. i had a really vivid conversation/dream/thing that night. then a few nights later, for the first time since moving there i didn’t have one. the next morning my dad was really freaked out and said he fell asleep in the chair, but woke up and couldn’t breathe, and felt cold little hands over his mouth. he rationalized it as just waking up from a nightmare but i didn’t think so, so that night when i went to sleep and saw her i got really upset, yelled at her for it, and woke up right after. then i never saw or heard anything even remotely similar again, like she left or disappeared or something. it’s so weird, and i know how crazy it sounds, but yeah. don’t get me started on the topic of ghosts lmfao. THEN AGAIN, like a year later we had a carbon monoxide scare, but i really doubt the two were related because that would mean there was an entire year that we were breathing it in and the monitor didn’t do anything lol

29. do you believe in aliens ??

no alien story, thankfully, but it just makes no sense not to believe in them to me. like, we probably don’t have them on earth, and we’ve probably never encountered any, but it’s as close as you can get to a mathematical certainty that there’s some other life out there in the universe.

30. do you believe in true love ??

like, people who are just meant for each other, like romantic soulmates? nah not really. but i believe that two people can grow to truly love one another. whether it’s based off an initial attraction/infatuation, or a friendship, or both. i’d actually argue that’s a simple explanation of the biological science behind the feeling of love, but that’s an essay i’m not gonna write lol. but there’s apparently a lot of different types of love, so i guess “true love” is suggestive? 

also slightly unrelated but i don’t-quite-believe-in-but-am-open-to-the-idea-of soulmates, not necessarily as two souls who are just meant for each other romantically and always end up together, but more as two or more souls that gravitate toward each other to make up the important people in each other’s lives, like family members, lovers, or close friends. but that’s more of a theoretical idea/possibility than an actual belief of mine.

so the wounds are still fresh. v v v v v v v v v fresh. but my thoughts during the entire movie were just OMG IM TRYING TO REMEMBER EVERY SINGLE THING THAT IS HAPPENING SO I CAN REMEMBER IT AS LONG AS POSSIBLE BEFORE i inevitably go see this movie again

this movie was good. and i’m mad it was so good and i found it so enjoyable for how dirty they did me. The pacing was pretty well done for a first viewing, but I'm sure after a couple rewatches I'll get caught up on the occasional misstep in the pacing and general direction the story took, but I really liked it!!

I thought the Thor stuff was kinda distasteful and honestly a joke that ran too long. Like ha ha okay we get it but also? He went through so much fucking trauma can we just lay off him? Damn? I don't wanna linger too much on it bc honestly the more I think about it the more I get upset the russos did him dirty

all the callbacks??? made me so emotional????? eleven years and almost two dozen films guys holy fucking shit it felt like such a good homage to bring stuff back

It meant so much especially to hear his reasonging being that in a way, he did it for Tony. He was inspired by what Tony told him. He saw Tony get his happy ending and for so many films now Steve has been searching for that and he missed an entire life. Tony helped him realize that. It just made me!! So emo!! Like Bucky's face when he knew Steve wasn't gonna be coming back. Steve's last convo w/ Sam. It was just amazing. I can't believe I'm seeing hot takes from people calling Steve selfish or blaming the fact that the Russos have a boner for Steggy or whatever. Who cares!!! Steve got his happy ending and it was well deserved and a wonderful arc!! Lay off him bc you ship him w/ Bucky or tony more damn!!!! Natasha deserved better. She did. I understand why they took her character arc the way that they did, and honestly, this is the first time I've felt we've seen Natasha have even a modicum of actual character traits since like, Iron man 2 and Avengers 1. She found purpose in keeping the family together and trying to help the people left living, while never stopping or losing contact with anyone else in their endeavors to fix what Thanos broke. As tired as I am of seeing a female character die for ~man pain~ this felt like so much more than that. In the end Nat wanted to sacrifice herself for the greater good, and that's what she did. I'm still fucking upset though, even though they've butchered her character across almost all the films she's been in

Thor being turned into an entire fucking joke. That's it. I got nothin left for the writers at this point.

So..... let's talk about Tony's death, shall we

"You can rest now" broke me. It truly did. I've never loved any fictional character across any medium as much as I have loved Tony Stark. But Pepper's line at the beginning "you'll sleep, but will you rest?" Is so fucking telling. I think I immediately knew for sure in that moment. Because she's right. And that's the worst part.

Peter :)))) finally :)))) calling :))))) tony :)))) by :)) his :)))) first :)) name :))) as he was dying :)))) asking him not to go the same way he told tony he didn't want to go when he was getting dusted GOD. AND WE THOUGHT THAT SCENE IN INFINITY WAR WAS ROUGH. HAD N O T H I N G ON THIS.

That funeral scene.... seeing everyone there drawn together..... god. It was beautiful. It really was.

Of course I'm not happy. I'm extremely fucking upset. I knew tony wielding the gauntlet would be coming, but I thought they would find a way for him to make it out alive. As soon as they were showing that even the hulk couldn't handle it with the gamma radiation, I knew the nail was going to be in the coffin.

All that aside... what I can say, is that if they HAD to kill him off, I think it was a proper send off. We saw so many arcs of Tony's come to a close, and I knew it was just a matter of time. Also that being said, I really don't believe in death being necessary to end a character's arc. Yeah yeah blah blah we get the sad and tragic but TRUE message that at the end of the day death is inevitable and that tony had to sacrifice himself for the greater good. He and Strange both knew it, and as soon as Strange held up that finger I knew that was it for him.

It wouldn't be so hard if they hadn't given us everything they did with tony after the 5 year jump. He healed. He was HAPPY. But pepper was right, and as long as Tony was alive... he would never truly /rest/. And that's the only way I'm able to make peace with this death. Tony has always been a character who was just going going going, never going to stop even if it killed him, all to protect the ones he loved, and protect the whole world and make it a better place. He had a beautiful story that was told so well over these past eleven years, with admitted shortcomings here and there. He had the most cohesive trilogy films, the best character development and arcs, and an incredible portrayal. I'm grateful for it, but that doesn't make it any easier that they decided to go and show us that Tony was able to FINALLY settle down with Pepper and see him find the best version of himself as a husband to her and a father to his little baby girl. A baby girl that now has to grow up without her dad, and pepper has to go on without her husband, the love of her life. It's fucking tragic and honestly, we didn't need that imho lmao

The hardest parts is that like.... idk. I feel like the only reason they killed him is for shock factor, but somehow without the shock? A lot of us felt or were worried that this was coming. I think the russos and co. We're just totally set on the idea that like... tony HAD to die and that was the only way for this arc to come to a close not just WITHIN the universe, but meta, outside of the MCU as well. They did the same thing with Hugh jackman as Logan and that shit HURTED me y'all. Eleven years we had RDJ give us this amazing character and he is the SOLE reason the MCU is where it is today. So you know what, the Russo's and everyone can circle jerk about how much ~poetic justice~ there is in this ending for Tony, but at the end of the day... it just ain't it fam.

Realistically I know after wielding the infinity stones there is no way Tony, a human, could've survived, even with his armor on. I knew that. And as biased as I am towards seeing Tony living, if he had wielded the stones and NOT died? It would've felt cheap. So again, if they had to end his life, I appreciate the way they did it and thought it was the best send off they could've given him. I also would've appreciated some kind of alternate option where oh i dont know carol or someone strong enough could've handled the snap and tony could live the rest of his days with his wife and daughter and found family but..... ig that's just me huh.

And last thought is that I fucking cried AGAIN because the biggest applause moment was during the credits when RDJ's name appeared. My theater gave a standing damn ovation. Also the very last sound after it faded to black... Tony hammering away, building the very first Iron Man suit.... that shit hurted.

1. Describe your novel in 1-2 sentences (elevator pitch)

Delilah never planned on moving in with her long-time boyfriend, Gavin, but she eventually relented. She also never planned on escaping, but one cross-country road trip through increasingly bizarre locations later and she does. Probably.

2. How long do you plan for your novel to be? (Is it a novella, single book, book series, etc.)

Single book.

3. What is your novel’s aesthetic?

A small town where nothing makes sense, a Wes Anderson movie with a script by Stephen King, houses that creak when no one is home, broken windows and baseballs, neon lights buzzing outside a laundromat, ghost stories told by someone who has never heard one.

4. What other stories inspire your novel?

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, American Gods, Crime and Punishment. It’s a very, very strange mix but like. There’s a little bit of all of them in it.

6. Who is your protagonist?

Delilah Hammond

7. Who is their closest ally?

This a giant spoiler for the first part of the book but also no one cares enough to be mad SO it’s Henry.

8. Who is their enemy?

Everyone at some point. But never Elio.

9. What do they want more than anything?

To have one day where she isn’t running.

10. Why can’t they have it?

She has a crazy murderer chasing her through a place that barely exists.

11. What do they wrongly believe about themselves?

That everything is her fault.

I honestly never give more than necessary descriptions because I like letting people add in whatever they want to my protagonists. My side characters have specific descriptions but since its a first person POV it’d be weird to describe her.

PLOT POINTS

13. What is the internal conflict?

She never has any idea what’s going on, is trying to process major trauma while also experiencing more trauma, and is falling in love all at the same time but hasn’t noticed yet. My girl is tired with a capital T.

14. What is the external conflict?

The sociopathic stalker and heavily implied murderer that’s following her around. They may or may not be the same person who knows. 

15. What is the worst thing that could happen to your protagonist?  

She finds out everything really is her fault.

16. What secret will be revealed that changes the course of the story?  

Whether or not she really loves Henry.

17. Do you know how it ends?  

Literally no idea. I don’t even know what the next scene is about until I get there.

BITS AND BOBS

18. What is the theme?  

I will know when I read it.

19. What is a recurring symbol?  

The color yellow, religious icons (it isn’t a religious book by any means but it adds to the weird, vaguely post-mild-apocalypse vibe), and the stars.

20. Where is the story set? (Share a description!)

I don’t know, they don’t know, no one knows. It’s purposely surreal and ambiguous and shifting. The characters never acknowledge it but there is nothing to firmly place it anywhere. Think of “A Series of Unfortunate Events.”

21. Do you have any images or scenes in your mind already?  

YES. I have all of the Delilah/Henry scenes but have yet to actually write or consider anything with Gavin. It’s a lil baby rn though, only ten pages.

22. What excited you about this story?  

I finally admitted I do not like and am not good at worldbuilding. I hate it. I know some people love it and thrive there and are regular old Tolkein’s and I am amazed. But I just really don't like to do it. This whole story relies on a vague and constantly shifting set of rules for the world (they are consistent, but not explicitly laid out if that makes sense.) I feel like I have a lot of freedom to do crazy things and also write a slow burn love story on top of the psychological thriller and it’s just a lot of things I love and not me forcing myself to write one specific story.

23. Tell us about your usual writing method!  

I do not have one. I am a disaster and anyone who uses outlines will immediately break out in hives as I explain. Basically, I have a word doc with a section for the actual story, scenes, quotes, and finally characters and settings. I bounce between those as the mood strikes me. Some days I write one scene, some days a lot of single sentences that I think sound cool. Some days I make up a whole place. Always an adventure. The plot comes from me smashing all that together as I go and rewriting little chunks to smooth it all over.

Meg’s Ultimate Beauty and the Beast Fic Rec List

so, you all are probably going to think i’m exaggerating (and be horrified when you discover i’m actually not and probably decide that i’m weird af) but over the years i have pretty much read every Beauty and the Beast fic on fanfiction.net. YES, i know, that’s Extra to the point that it can’t even pass off as being cute or quirky anymore, but it’s true. i started in 2013, though, in my defense, and just kind of read every single night when i’d finished my homework all throughout high school. ANYWAY, because of this, i know a lot of good fics that some of you guys may not remember reading or may have not seen bc they were written in 2008 or something crazy like that. so, here’s my recommendations for BATB fics!! these will mostly be Belle/Beast and Belle/Adam, but other stuff might be in there. a lot of these will be based on the 1991 film since obviously there’s a lot more fic in that, but i’ll probably sneak in some recent stuff i’ve read that i really like either from fanfiction.net or Archive of Our Own. i’ll add comments to the ones i specifically remember reading and am able to elaborate on my thoughts, but otherwise i’m just pulling stuff out of my favorites (i only favorite a fic if i really really like it.) here we go!! 

Multi-Chapter Fics 

A Change in Me by disneylove89  Description: Belle is saved from the wolves by the Beast, but is injured and becomes ill as a result. Because of this, though, Belle is unknowingly able to find the chink in the Beast's hard heart and begin their odd relationship. A larger look at Belle and the Beast's lives with expanded movie scenes and original chapters beginning from just after the wolf chase and past the movie's end. My comments: this is one fic I specifically remember reading my freshman year of high school. I *loved* it. It basically gave a bit more depth to Belle and Beast’s friendship and allowed that friendship to transcend into love a lot more naturally. I’ll probably be re-reading this one tonight, since I don’t think I’ve re-read it in a couple of years! 

A Prince in Disguise by The Green Archer  Description: The Beast gets a reprieve on his curse, but will he find out if Belle truly loved him? Meanwhile, Gaston will do anything to make Belle his wife. Alternate ending to the movie. My comments: If I remember correctly, the author said she got the idea for this from The Princess Bride. Anyway, this is another one I loved when I first fell in love with BATB. It’s got the perfect amount of heartache and pining (yes, I am quoting the Beast) and she captured Adam’s character perfectly. 

After They Stopped Dancing by lebardetriste Description: This is a creation for my inner child, who always wondered what happened to Belle and her prince after they stopped dancing. I did my best to honor the character development already established by the movie. To me, Disney's Beauty and the Beast is one of THE great love stories. This a direct continuation of the story, picking up just moments after the movie ends. My comments: Guys, I think this may be the first BATB fic I ever read. I’m not sure. It’s definitely one of the first few, and I remember loving it so much. 

All Men Are Afraid of Dying by LadyBaelish1127 Description: "I just wish you would let me help you find yourself again," Belle murmured. - Belle is adjusting to life in the rejuvenated castle. Prince Adam is learning what it means to be human again. Novel-length, based on 2017 film. My comments: This was one of the first multi-chapter fics to come out of the 2017 movie, the first chapter was posted on the day the movie officially premiered in theatres. She really captured 2017 Adam’s character perfectly, especially considering she was probably just going off of seeing the movie once! There was barely any meta or headcanons on 2017 Adam at the time, so to me it’s mind-blowing how well she wrote him. There’s an amazing plot twist about halfway through the fic that I wasn’t expecting at all, which was great. Also, this is super smutty, and I’m here for it. 

Mirrors by @greensearcher​ Description: Everyone knows the Beast was selfish and unkind—which, of course, is exactly what a jealous enchantress would want the world to think. A retelling in which young Adam was an innocent victim caught up in his father's past mistakes, and Belle a willing presence seeking to repay her own father's debt. And with a vengeful witch on the loose, Gaston is the least of their worries. My comments: WOAH, MY FRIENDS. THIS FIC IS AMAZING, PLEASE READ IT. As the description would suggest, this fic is basically what Adam and Belle’s friendship and love story would’ve been like if Adam hadn’t been such an apocalyptic fuckhat in the beginning. (Sorry, bby, but you know it’s true.) I love the idea of Adam actually being really kind and good (which we all know he is deep down, but I mean like in his behavior as well) and that’s actually how the Prince is in the original Beauty and the Beast, which I always loved about La Belle et La Bete.

The Beast Prince by onceuponanobsessedfan Description: With an obsessive love for the prince, the Enchantress places a unique curse on him--beast by day, human by night. In order for the curse to break, he must marry the Enchantress or remain locked away in his castle for eternity. If anyone sees his true form, he will be lost forever to a woman he will never love. My comments: This is a different twist on the story we’re used to, and I love it. I especially love Belle and Beast’s relationship in this. 

I Will Be With You For Evermore by ImagineATale  Description: Alternative ending based on 2017 remake. What if Belle decides she wants to return to the castle after rescuing her father? And what if she leaves the mirror with the Beast? My comments: This is incredibly depressing, and I’m totally here for it. Also, it’s not completed yet, but it’s totally worth reading anyway. 

Behind a Fair Façade by @theteaisaddictive​ Description: Belle and Adam are college roommates whose dislike soon melts into friendship - and maybe more. But Adam has a reason beyond Belle's smile for pursuing her love, to do with his parents tragic death ten years ago. And Belle has her own motives for choosing a college over a hundred miles from her beloved father. Can their friends get them to fall in love? Complete, 3 bonus chapters. My comments: I’ve been reading @theteaisaddictive‘s stuff for years now, and I always love everything she writes. This is one of the modern AU’s I’ve really liked where I felt like the characters still seemed like themselves in a modern setting. 

A Rose’s Thorn by @theteaisaddictive​ Description: Because a prince insulted a witch, he was cursed. Because a girl fell in love, the spell was broken. But when a merchant chooses to trust his horse, the prince risks never breaking his enchantment. And the merchant's daughter will be trapped in marriage with a man she doesn't love. Can they find each other, even with all the changes to this tale as old as time? Movieverse AU. My comments: Another great fic by @theteaisaddictive. It’s not complete yet, though, you’ve been warned. 

Kissed by a Rose by SamoaPhoenix9 Description: Mature content Beauty and the Beast. Belle comes to the castle burdened by an unspeakable secret and a deeply wounded spirit. The Beast carries betrayal in his own past. Can they still learn to love, and to trust, one another? Complete! My comments: First of all, can I just say, SamoaPhoenix9 has literally been in the BATB fandom forever. Like, I remember seeing authors thanking them for their comments on fics from 2012. They definitely get some credit for that alone, since reading/writing about BATB for that long will definitely allow you to really understand the characters. As for this fic, I haven’t read it in a year or so, but I do know that I loved it. 

My Heart Will Go On by Charlie’sLostVampire  Description: Engaged to be married to a woman who he does not love - a match enforced by his money grubbing father - the poised young aristocrat, Adam, is utterly miserable. On his first night aboard the RMS Titanic, he debates pitching himself over the edge of the ship and into the icy waters below, never to be seen or paraded around ever again. And then he meets Belle. My comments: It’s a Titanic AU, what more can I say? Yes, I know, this only has three chapters thus far, don’t fight me. I’m just as desperate for more as you are. 

Beauty and the Beast: The Tale Continues by CJ Ambrose Description: With the curse broken, Belle and Prince Adam start to enjoy their new life together, and remaining happy for evermore. Takes place during and after the ending of the 2017 live-action film. Please review! Some OOC moments. My comments: Another one of the first fics to come out of the movie. As they mentioned in the description, some moments are a bit out of character, but overall I’m into it. I definitely have this set for email notifications, and they update pretty often, so it’s always something to look forward to. 

Love Will Save Your Soul by Hammyham9 Description: After the curse is lifted, Adam and Belle are getting used to life together, hopefully with a semblance of self-restraint.  Après L'Enchantement by The Green Searcher Description: Becoming a prince again was just the beginning. Post-movie fluff. My comments: This is another one of the first BATB fics I read. I’ll have to re-read it, since it’s been a while, but I remember being in love with it. 

Love Changes Things by JonniLyne Description: What if the Beast hadn't forced Belle to stay? What if it was her choice? What if she stayed to escape her own tragic fate? My spin on the classic story. 

Tune As Old As Song by So-Crates Johnson Description: Modern/AU: Belle, a writer for a local newspaper, is helping a friend with a story when she meets Adam, a guitarist for a popular local metal band. As she gets to know him, she realizes that they have more in common than their seemingly different interests would suggest. My comments: Another good modern AU. In this one, Adam is a musician, which my former Band Slut self was very into in 2013. Also, Belle is a journalist in this one, which my current journalism major self is very into. 

Song as Old as Rhyme by So-Crates Johnson Description: A modern retelling following the original storyline, in which most of the main characters are gainfully employed adults. My comments: Basically the same idea as the previous one, except this one more closely follows the plot of the movie. 

Certain as the Sun by disneylove89 Description: Belle and Adam have returned from their honeymoon to begin their lives as husband and wife. They find out quickly though, that nothing is ever as certain as the sun, that there are many things than can change their lives in a single moment. This story follows Adam and Belle as they experience life, with all the joys and the difficulties that come with it. A series of short stories. 

Notre Dame by FoxyBoxy Description: What if Belle used the Portal Book again before she left the castle? And had a midnight stroll with Beast? My comments: This is amazing, that’s really all I can say 

Perchance to Dream by SamoaPhoenix9 Description: Based on the 2017 movie, with a twist from the original French story. After coming to the castle, Belle meets someone in her dreams who seems oddly familiar... My comments: As you all know, I love the original Beauty and the Beast stories - both Villeneuve’s and Beaumont’s. So, obviously, I adore this.  As The Long, Long Nights Begin by ladymacbeth99 Description: AU. After the fight with Gaston, Belle is just in time to save the Beast's life-but too late to break the spell. Can they manage to find some happiness anyway? My comments: This is depressing and I love it. 

One-Shot Collections (kind of like a multi-chapter fic but they aren’t all necessarily related. You all know what I mean.)

The Nature Points the Way, So Much Left to Say series by @je-suis-em-jee​  My comments: I actually posted one of these one-shots in the one shot section because it’s my absolute favorite, however these are all amazing. And her smut is amazing. And she’s amazing. Emjee, why you so good. Why.

'There were really no other girls in Villeneuve?'" In which Belle makes a friend and learns more about her fiance. My comments: This is easily my favorite one-shot of all time. It’s incredibly well-written, fluffy and cute and it features Makeup-Wearing Adam, which is one of my favorite Adams. It features lots of different characters, like Plumette and even Maurice. The second chapter is amazing, it’s so fluffy and sweet and if I’m being honest, sometimes when I’m anxious at night and having trouble falling asleep, I just read it and it calms me down enough to drift off. 

When We Touched by A Self-Promoting Attention-Thirsty Hoe, AKA Meg. AKA me. This is my fic. I’m self-promoting my fic. 

Description (which is awful, by the way, I never knew I’d be so bad at writing descriptions): The five times the Beast had human contact for the first time in years, and the one time he had it as a human himself after the curse is broken. Based mostly off the 2017 movie. My comments: Well, my dudes. What do I have to say other than this is my fic, I think it’s somewhat okay, and I hope that you enjoy it.

(Read more on that here and here.) This is what would happen if he found those wheely suckers after the curse was broken.  My comments: this is literally the Heelys fic please read it

Postmovie oneshot.  Evermore Reprise by @theresadunn​  Description: A reprise for Evermore sung by Adam to his daughter.  My comments: This made me cry  Evermore (Reprise) by @uncledisney​ Description: One night, Adam finds himself overlooking the castle grounds from the tower, just like the time Belle left him. Only this time, this is his wedding night and Belle is now his wife. My comments: Another reprise for Evermore, except this is just the lyrics. However, it’s still great. 

Changes by TrudiRose Description: One-shot: Belle and her Prince adjust to life after the transformation. My comments: Remember what I said earlier about SamoaPhoenix6 being like, an OG BATB fic writer? THIS WAS WRITTEN IN 2004, AND I STILL SEE TRUDIROSE LURKING IN THE BATB FICS ON FANFICTION.NET. Honestly, to me, TrudiRose is a legend. I say this half-jokingly, but seriously. I remember back in 2013 when I began my mission to read every BATB fic out there, I’d read something from 2012, something from 2010, and something from 2008 and the fic writers were all thanking TrudiRose for their support or doing beta work or whatever. That’s so crazy and cool to me, idk. Anyway, this one-shot is great. 

Two Hearts Become One by disneylove89  Description: This is the story of Belle and Adam's wedding night. Plenty of fluff, but pay attention to the rating, it's there for a reason! My comments: This is some good smut, my dudes. Pretty sure 15 year old Meg learned everything she didn’t know about sex from reading this. So, thanks for the free sex ed, disneylove89. 

One Passion by disneylove89 Description: A sort of sequel to my story "Two Hearts Become One." Adam and Belle are celebrating their one year wedding anniversary in all sorts of lovely, smutty ways. My comments: Once again, smut. Also, I distinctly remember geeking out over the fact that both these smut fics were titled after the Beauty and the Beast (Reprise) from the Broadway musical, as if I was the only one that knew that. 

The Beast Within the Man by ladymacbeth99 Description: One-shot. Even after he's transfigured back to his human form, Belle still recognizes the Beast she grew to love. 

Proof by Amabeth Description: He told Gaston he wasn't a beast, and he proved it. But Belle didn't need any proof. / OR a short drabble about the before and after of the Beast's transformation. Set in the 2017 remake. 

Snow Covered Dreams by SpoonyLupin Description: After the Beast thinks he has injured Belle during their snowball fight, this leads to an intimate fireside chat. Beauty and the Beast: A New Beginning by Prinsesa Isabella Description: (Takes place one and a half year after the BatB 2017 movie) A series of one-shots, dabbles revolving around Adam and Belle as the new monarch rulers King and Queen... and... as the new parents of their first newborn princess. Hphm was supposed to be my way of like living out my Harry Potter years but it’s so boring and the storyline is really bland. Honestly there’s a similar HPHM game that jam city only released in China which looks so much better. I think you can actually interact with other people and there’s more free reign. It also takes place from when McGonagall becomes headmistress so it might be a different with professors and what not. I hate having the same convo with the same person (talbott) 3x a day!

honestly it’s so frustrating that jam city didn’t think most of their plot points through. like it’s really obvious that they’re writing things as they go. i don’t really mind discovery writing all that much; it’s how i write most of my stuff and it’s how the current story i’m posting is going right now (which is why i’m usually late to update; i have no idea where i’m going aside from a slight vibe)

but i’m writing some bullshit fluffy romancey crack fic for like, 35 people on tumblr, so it works for me. these are people making a HARRY POTTER GAME, so they don’t get that kind of slack

it’s weird that they force you to switch quidditch positions instead of, i don’t know, letting you PICK which position you wanted and giving you questlines related to it (and then maybe, letting you pick another position later if you got bored of it). i honestly was so unenthused with quidditch that i’m not even at the tryouts yet. i only started now because i want to get like, exp or something, for that month long thing like i’m not invested in the questline at all. the additional characters in the quidditch quest just bloat the game even farther and they don’t even develop the characters they already have

and OH MY GOD, EVERY TIME MC BRINGS UP “””FLY SOLO””” MY CHEST SHRIVELS. like it’s not funny, at least not the way they play it, and it drives me crazy. a good author might be able to play that as a flirty inside joke, but apparently the (likely underpaid) writers for this game just don’t bother (i want to give them the benefit of the doubt; i don’t want to call them terrible writers and say they can’t write good dialogue because listen, i’m a fan fiction author i’m not exactly shakespeare and i don’t even know any of their names, i don’t get to throw that stone. idk if they can’t or don’t but either way, it’s just not good writing)

the grinding is just killer. the grinding is KILLER. the grinding is the worst damn part of the whole thing and i hate it so much.

like damn bro maybe once i’ve played the game up to its current point i’ll release a set of general bulleted outlines for how they could play each of the four main storylines for the houses, like plot points and events and such, if i can think of things. like i said, i’m only in year four and if things keep taking this much damn time it might take me a couple months at least to get all the way up to the latest release

i don’t really have the time or the energy or the staying power to write each of them out in full, but bulleted outlines would be manageable so uh

we’ll see? i guess?

anyway it’s probably best to think of the side quests as totally separate from the main canon except OH WAIT, DOESN’T TALBOTT SHOW UP IN THE MAIN CANON?? I’M PRETTY SURE I HEARD SOMETHING ABOUT THAT, MAKE UP YOUR MIND, JAM CITY, WHICH FUCKIN PARTS ARE YOU GOING TO HOLD ONTO

anyway shameless self promotion, this pissed me off even all the way back in december when i first started playing, so i started making a rewrite of my own to hopefully keep continuity and make things believable (which is why i was screen recording everything; i wanted to know everything that happened and all the lines of dialogue because there was one segment after the duel where flitwick said something in response to my choice that i loved and i was never able to find what he said, so i started recording the plot moments to look back on later).

but then i stopped, because the tulip continuity error happened and i was left in the same position as jam city, because i hadn’t name dropped her either so i either had to come up with a reason for her to have never appeared prior, or i had to rewrite the beginning chapters

so i was like, oh, i’ll wait on finishing that one until i actually know everything that’s coming so i don’t run into this problem again

anyway, that’s up on ao3 and you can find it here if you’d like to read it. idk how well it holds up for general audiences, since it was mostly just a cathartic fic for while i was waiting the hours and hours for my energy to recharge. the beginning’s a bit sloppy tbh bc it was just a series of semi-connected scenes before i really found my groove, but they’re still sort of fun. in the span of a single scene i think i developed the characters and their interactions more than jam city has in the four years of gameplay i’ve made it through so far, so hey. jam city, hire me.

maybe i’ll even release the rest of the chapters i wrote (because i have more). who knows

sorry i wrote a whole essay anon uhhh i have a lot of words and feelings i guess. that’s my bad. this is honestly my passion though so seeing wasted potential gets my gears turning and i just gotta word vomit sometimes
