But more seriously Pokemon that share types find commonality and tend to be more open to each other so a Psychic or Fairy might work better! Also take in mind their form! Humanoid Pokemon find it easier to play with and train together with other humanoid Pokemon rather than Pokemon that are ambiguous in shape or are quadrupedal!

Though as always take in mind your own individual Gardevoir's taste or interest. Each Pokemon is unique and they might have traits or habits that would suggest a Pokemon best suited for their lifestyle!

anyway I'm going to talk about all my thoughts on what pokemon the characters would have so it might get wordy:

FIRST UP QIU LIN!!! I gave him a fletchling cuz they're one of the speedier birds and I feel like it just fits him yanno? And mimikyu also suits his personality I think, I can totally see him being super kind and befriending it and UGH. My heart.

I limited myself to two pokemon for this piece but I was also considering KIRLIA!! (because ballet, I'll probably draw this one at some point), deerling (coz autumn lol), pumpkaboo, ninjask, duskull (coz of his halloween costume), and just for vibes: riolu, charmeleon, jolteon, pikachu.

OKAY TAMARACK TIME!!! My first pick is teddiursa, I think, purely for the cuteness factor, plus they stand similar, it's sooo cute. Next kricketot (because cello), seedot, polteageist, politoed and for some more vibe ones: phantump, leafeon, togepi!! (oh my it fits her so well), joltik, comfey, bulbasaur, cleffa.

now for nobody's favourite, mr baxter alexander ward. So my first thought was gardevoir, specifically mega gardevoir because it looks like a ballroom dancer (plus the shiny has a black dress), but yeah he would definitely have a galarian zigzagoon as a teen (coz he listens to heavy metal i think?), aaand otherwise i had, zebstriker, gothitelle, mightyena, wooloo, and shiny roserade (coz it's fancy)

And lastly Ren! I'll be transparent- I do not know a lot about her,,, yeag my bad, so I just have all the fox pokemon put down for her, vulpix, nickit, fennekin, zorua- but also Volcarona I think would fit her vibes.

I lied that wasn't the last one a little bonus for my own mc, Rena, she would have a Vikavolt, Porygon, Staraptor, Espeon, Minccino, and Garchomp - and she's very afraid of ghost types

I may have gotten a little carried away with this.

First Discovery:

(Stelle) "I think I found a new friend."

Stelle walked into the Parlor Car smelling less than pleasant, immediately catching the attention of the other Nameless aboard.

(March 7th) "Ugh! Is it actually alive? Sure doesn't smell like it!"

(Stelle) "Actually, yeah he is."

Immediately, Dan Heng's eyes went wide upon looking at Stelle's hands.

(Dan Heng) "Did...that piece of garbage just move?"

March 7th, Himeko, Welt, and Caelus's sights all shifted to the item Stelle had in her palm, only to see that the tiny garbage bag had eyes and a mouth, much to their wonder and horror.

(March 7th) "EW! WHAT IS THAT?!"

March hopped behind Caelus as he tilted his head curiously, fascinated by the creature more than anything.

With Himeko and Welt not too far behind.

(Himeko) "Oh, I didn't think we'd find another one so soon!"

Stelle's eyes gleamed at the comment.

(Stelle) "There are other cute little trash guys like him?!"

Welt stepped closer to Stelle's new friend, leaning down to look at it near eye level.

(Welt) "Himeko and I have only encountered a few of them in our travels, but we call them Pocket monsters. Pokémon, for short."

(Dan Heng) "Does that mean there's other creatures like...the one Stelle has?"

(Himeko) "There sure are! I've been working on a device to catalogue every one we find, including capsules to capture them. I'm sure we can find you all one in no time!"

(Caelus) "Wait, you already have your own?"

(Welt) "For quite some time, yes. But we kept them inside of our Pokéballs for safety reasons. The ones Himeko and I have are rather...temperamental, to put it lightly."

(March 7th) "Are there super cute ones?"

(Himeko) "Naturally.~"

(March 7th) "Then what the heck are waiting for, let's find our own!"

(Stelle) "But I'm fine with mine."

Welt and Himeko looked at each other before the scientist pulled out the Pokédex, scanning Stelle's friend. When it finished, it spoke aloud for everyone to hear.

Trubbish: It gorges on trash until its stomach is full. Then it belches toxic gas. An unlucky whiff of gas will put a person in the hospital.

(Welt) "..."

(Himeko) "..."

(Dan Heng) "Please do not keep that one, Stelle."

Caelus

Galarian Zigzagoon: Thought to be the oldest form of Zigzagoon, it moves in zigzags and wreaks havoc upon its surroundings.

Caelus's Zigzagoon dug into the trash can alongside him, popping its head out eagerly with a shiny object in its mouth. His owner followed suit, shooting him a thumbs up with a shiny object of his own.

(Silvermane Guard's Voice) "WHY IS THERE TRASH EVERYWHERE?!"

Dan Heng

Snivy: It prefers to avoid groups. In its day-to-day life, it dexterously controls its vines to compensate for its short arms.

Dan Heng sat in silence within the Astral Express's archive, hearing his companion walk behind him. Upon turning around, he saw Snivy holding a book with its vines. Smiling, Dan Heng took the book gently and pet his Pokémon's head.

(Dan Heng) "My thanks, Snivy."

March 7th

Sylveon: It wraps its ribbonlike feelers around the arm of its beloved Trainer and walks with him or her.

(March 7th) "OH MY GOOOOSH YOU ARE SOOOOO CUUUUUTE!"

March's Sylveon was being snuggled happily in her arms, the ribbons tightly around the arm and giving as much affection back. March's phone has at least 80 photos of her and Sylveon from this week alone.

Himeko

Rotom: Its electricity-like body can enter some kinds of machines and take control in order to make mischief.

Himeko has had Rotom for quite some time, and thanks to modifying her Pokédex, gave Rotom the ability to speak. For better and worse. Though it thankfully knows not to cause a mess upon the Astral Express, and most of all, not anger Himeko.

She moved across the main car and poured herself a cup of coffee, opening her eyes to notice that the coffee machine had suddenly transformed into an orange color.

(Himeko) "Morning."

(Rotom) "Hiya! Need a brew?"

(Himeko) "Always. Mind making the others some too?"

Even with its unmoving smile, she could hear the anxiety in the Pokémon's voice.

(Rotom) "Don't you humans need something a little more...edible?"

Himeko's smile remained, but her fist clenched as she suddenly grabbed the machine and yanked the plug from the wall.

(Himeko) "Pom-Pom? I believe we should throw this defective machine out the airlock-"

(Rotom) "WAITWAITWAIT-"

Welt

Drampa: If a child it has made friends with is bullied, Drampa will find the bully's house and burn it to the ground.

Welt smiled as he sat on the couch, watching as Drampa floated over to Caelus and Stelle, nudging them to play.

(Welt) "Ah, sorry. It's been a little bit since I've let Drampa take a walk out of its Pokéball."

(Stelle) "It's okay, Mr. Yang! He seems like a nice fella."

(Welt) "Just be careful if he's with you when you pick a fight. He's rather...protective. Heh, takes after his owner, I'd say."

(Caelus) "I don't think I'd expect anything less! Does he bite people?"

(Welt) "Ah..." ahem "How to put this? It can get a little-"

Welt and Himeko watched in fascination and horror as Drampa burned down an entire fortress effortlessly, thrashing concretes and thugs aside. And with one last flame, it ignited the area into a raging inferno-

Sona master post time!

here is the post guys, gonna put it under a cut because I have a lot to say about a lot of my sonas

1)Bear man? He has no name really, just me really. technically I made his species a grolar bear but he is just kinda a silly bear. hat and glasses are optional. bandana and sweater are interchangable. technically you can draw top surgery scars on him but I haven't had top surgery yet so I will only draw those scars when that happens. But yeah he is my defult sona

2) Lemon (aka spearsona) My rain world sona, can be anthro or just a scug. he has no mouth usually, mouth can be given if silly enough. He has fluffy paw pads (kinda like rabbit feet) The patches on the anthro version overalls represent my friends that I feel closest to (there is a missing pink bow patch from my old drawing because that friend blocked me, please don't attack them if you find out who they are) I will be adding more patches, don't worry friends

3) Gator! My more silly playful sona. goofy and stretchy and moldable. kinda a guy I use when excited of playful, when my brain is very lizard brain. if you draw him then please keep it sfw, he is meant to be child friendly. He has 2 design requirements for if you draw him, green and has the snoot. go wild if you draw him, I love this fella.

Update (11/09/24): Gator has a shark fin on his back now. same rules as before but now requirements are green, the gator snoot and the fin

4) Draygon This guy and below are more personal or with friends so just keep that in mind and ask if you are allowed to draw them doing something. (if you are a mutual or we interact a lot you can draw this guy) Anyways he is just a long dragon with a fluffy mane, if you see him I am usually sarcastic or have had a very rough day

5) Banana! :D Pokesona, he is an eeveelution designed by my friend @boyswhowawa (I can remove tag if you want) called alebreon. He is a ground type (he also looks quite different from the normal alebreon, they are not normally bright yellow) the green arm band is mandatory. He usually is around his friend squash (I cannot share squash because that is friends sona) I actually don't mind fanart of him but he is more personal to me

6) Zigzaret :P my second pokemon sona, a galarian zigzagoon, sentret hybrid. a silly pal. nothing too special he is just silly. you can draw him being a goober and a sweetheart.

7) Squizzard OwO originally a fusion of lonely wizard and a squirrel from inscryption. He is extremely personal with my close irl friends. ask me directly if you want to draw him. I find him silly and I love him but would be uncomfortable if he got just random fan art

The Pokémon AU has taken over my thoughts! I have very many ideas in my head and no time for doodling, so I'm just gonna info dump about Jean! (The others will get their own post!)

🧡 So she's the one who runs the daycare in my little AU

🧡 She tried to be a Pokémon trainer along with the Main 4, but she really didn't like listening to her Pokémon get hurt

🧡 Her Litten is named Captain, and it got poisoned one time by a Weedle, and Jean rolled up on it

You ever punch a bug and also get poisoned?

🧡 She got a few gyms in before she decided battling just wasn't for her. So she turned that big old house with all that land her parents gave her in their will into a daycare!

🧡 She's a little clumsy with it at first so she hires some people to help her! Heidi and David work with her!

🧡 Along the way, she ends up adopting a Grookey someone left behind. It lashed out at her a lot, often leaving a lot of marks from its stick! Eventually, they came to terms, and now he's a big ol' Rillaboom named Vinny! He and Captain are best friends and they have matching patch jackets

🧡 Oh! Captain does eventually evolve into Incineroar! Because I started an Ultra Sun playthrough and her starter was a shiny, I'm carrying that over. That's why Jean dresses in a lot of reds and whites

🧡 He is just as goofy as her. Say something that neither of them understands, and they'll both give you the same confused head tilt. Like - ❓️❓️❓️

🧡 I kept that she still grows up close to Stan so of course, those assholes have to have at least one similar Pokémon! They have Toxtricitys - Jean just has the Amped form while he has the Low Key form. (Their friendship makes me so happy. Sue me.) Her name is Viv!

🧡 Jean also raises a Houndour puppy into Houndoom! It's a little temperamental, and she loves her baby to death. She'll scoop it up and hug it, treating it like it's still her baby.

He secretly loves the affection, but he has a reputation to uphold. He will bite the top of her head, and it won't even faze her. She'll just sit there with a goofy smile.

🧡 His name is Brann, and he takes his job as the protector of the daycare very seriously. If there are any intruders, he's the first to deal with them. He also tends to the baby Pokémon with Jean, making sure they behave and are safe.

🧡 Captain will do something similar, but he's usually the fun one while Brann is the strict one. Captain also tends to the eggs more. He'll hold them and keep them warm. He'll fall asleep sometimes on his back and the other Pokémon will fall asleep around him for warmth.

🧡 This next one was a little hard because I couldn't decide between all the different snake Pokémon! I liked the idea of her having a Syviper, but she'd honestly have an Onix. Big rock baby. He tries to help, but he's a little clumsy. He's also very excitable, so sometimes he'll tear through the field. His name is Rolin. Rolin is the one who wakes Jean up by sticking his head in through her windows. He adores it when other Pokémon climbs on him and will trot around with them proudly!

🧡 Her last Pokémon is an Obstagoon she found digging through her trash as a Zigzagoon. When they first meet, he runs away from her a few times. She wins him over by playing music for him. The little Pokémon goes to run like it always does but stops when he hears her strum on her guitar. He ends up coming closer, and they sit together for a little while. He doesn't become her partner until he's already a Linoone! His name is also Jean. She giggles every time she tells people this.

🧡 She doesn't grow any of the berries herself. Instead, she supports the farmers around her and buys them! She keeps plenty of different types of food for the Pokémon left in her care. Luckily, Heidi is around to help. Jean (the person) and Captain are banned from the kitchen after a particular incident where she tried to cook with his fire.

🧡 David is the one who writes up the schedules and makes sure people stick to it. He's also the one who does inventory! He sends Jean out to retrieve it.

🧡 A lot of people think he's the one in charge of the daycare. Which he thinks is absolutely hilarious. Because you'll have this very mature, polite young man taking your Bonsley from you, and then there's this woman charging head first into a Taurus, playfully wrestling with it in the background.

"That's very sweet of you, but uh, no that's the owner."

- Honestly, there's so much more I could go on about, but I'm gonna stop for now! Maybe when I learn to draw Pokémon I'll doodle the shinangens, but for now, I wanna work on the others! Thanks for reading if ya did. Your meat is huge and I adore you.

Hi! Hi! Would you like to play a game :3 which pokemon do you think the trigger happy havoc cast would have? You can only pick one pokemon per person! I'll go :) first!! Makoto naegi would have a Spearow and aoi asahina would have a Wartortle and Sakura ogami would have Machamp :] hehe now you go!!! :)))

Ooookay, let's see.

Makoto- ...Okay, I promise I'm not doing the "Makoto is rabbit" thing on purpose, but Buneary is genuinely an option. I just like that it has the "Klutz" ability. I like to imagine Makoto's Pokemon constantly dropping things or knocking things over by accident. BUT, I think I'll give him a Bidoof instead. I really want to give him an early-route Pokemon, something common and normy, plus I find it charming to give him this homely beaver creature that is constantly chewing stuff. I like to imagine all of the furniture in his dorm room is chewed; the desk chair has one leg that's half the size of the other three, there's big chunks missing from the desk itself, etc. Comes in handy after his execution; Bidoof chews him free of the desk.

Kyoko- Espeon seems so obvious, but it is Espeon. And I'm gonna say that's a Kirigiri family tradition; they all are given Eevees in their childhood and evolve them into Espeons when they're ready to be a detective. (Jin either evolved his into something else or didn't evolve it at all, to the family's disdain.)

Byakuya- I'm giving him Umbreon. Advantages: he matches Kyoko by having an Eeveelution; its moves include "Mean Look," "Covet," and "Confuse Ray"; it's weak to fighting types, which reminds me of Aoi slapping Byakuya.

Aoi- Okay, so she had a Squirtle while she was at Hope's Peak, and she intended never to evolve it because she found it very cute, but then she did evolve it to a Wartortle when the Tragedy happened (because she was worried her Squirtle wouldn't be able to defend itself well enough), meaning when she wakes up pre-killing game, she's going to be confused as to why her Squirtle evolved while she was sleeping. When the killing game ends, she evolves her Wartortle to a Blastoise right before leaving the school. (Tbh, I think the Poliwag to Poliwhirl to Polywrath version of this concept is more in character, because that brings in fighting type in addition to water type, but in terms of what Aoi would choose, I just think that as a child she thought Squirtle was cute.)

Yasuhiro- Zigzagoon. Another early-route Pokemon, and this one is known for wandering around and finding items in the ground. I feel like Hiro might value that.

Toko- I reeeeeally see her with a Venonat, but I can't really justify it except by vibes and the fact that it has a move called "Struggle Bug". Bug and poison type really feels right for her.

Sayaka- Kirlia, but it was a Ralts in middle school (and Makoto comments on how she's evolved her Pokemon since the last time they were in school together). Psychic type and fairy type. Has "Disarming Voice," "Draining Kiss," "Charm," "Heal Pulse," "Calm Mind," etc. Just a lot of moves that sound like Sayaka to me.

Mukuro- Mightyena. Not only does this Pokemon look like Mukuro, it also never disobeys the orders of a skilled trainer. This means that when Mukuro is disguised as Junko, she either has Junko's Jigglypuff or someone comments on how weird it is that the Ultimate Fashionista has a Mightyena.

Junko- Jigglypuff. Easy to underestimate by looks alone, while the moves and general vibes match how she manipulates people. "Disarming Voice," "Alluring Voice," "Amnesia," "Uproar," "Helping Hand"...

Leon- Voltorb. Ball. Plus, electric type just feels right for him.

Chihiro- Kakuna. It can't do much, fighting-wise, until it evolves, and it's weak to rock types.

Mondo- This guy has a regular Aron and he loves that thing. Steel and rock type, and cute. (They eat metal, so this could be a thing where Aron eats the dumbbell that killed Chihiro and they have to figure out the murder weapon by knowing the dumbbell is missing, etc.) Has moves like "Tackle," "Take Down," "Harden," "Heavy Slam," etc. I'm sure he also has a Cyclizar, but it's not with him all the time; the Aron is a constant.

Taka- Rookidee. Another early route one, and one whose Pokédex entries say it will bravely challenge any opponent, no matter how powerful. It has moves like "Power Trip," "Scary Face," and "Brave Bird".

Hifumi- I'm feeling Sylveon for him. He seems like he'd have an Eeveelution to me, and he seems like he'd have a fairy type. Has moves like "Babydoll Eyes," "Fake Tears," and "Stored Power."

Celeste- She either has a Glameow or a Sableye. Glameow is a normal type but looks elegant enough to go with Celeste's aesthetic; Sableye is a dark type, has gems for eyes that symbolizes the motive that ostensibly led to Celeste's downfall, and are thought to "steal the spirits of people when their eyes burn with a sinister glow in the darkness". Glameow would go well with Celeste ultimately being a normal person who's putting on airs, but Sableye matches with her overall presentation. To each their own, but I'm going Sableye because it's cool. (Gothitelle looks like her, but I don't think that's really what she's looking for in a Pokemon.)

Sakura- Galarian Rapidash. Psychic and fairy type, which makes it strong against fighting types. The idea here is that she is strong in the area of fighting and her Pokemon is strong in the areas where she is weakest. That or Tauros, which is a fighting type and notably unruly, meaning she would have to make it behave through competing force of will. Tbh, I can't decide on one for her right now.

But I think the only things I'd personally change for Lawrence is swapping Alomomola for Herdier or Stoutland, then with Adam I'd swap Slowpoke for maybe smn like Sableye. That little thing is just So Adam to me like GOD LMAO

Then for his starter, I can just so, so easily see him being one of those 'lol weed cat Sprigatito weed cat' motherfuckers 😭

But uh other than that, these are so great AUGH

ooooh, I've thought about this before!! Based off vibes and not strategy (also not limiting to any particular regions) here's the pokemon I think people'd have

Danny: Marshadow(ghost/fighting this just makes sense for him), Dragapult(airplane dragon thats also a ghost? this is very danny), Minior(i think he'd have a blue one), Staryu(in the pokemon world people think these come from space), Clefairy(moon theme), Glaceon(his starter was an eevee and at some point it evolved into glaceon)

Tucker: Rotom(this is the most obvious pick ever for tucker but im sticking to it), Ampharos(do androids dream of electronic sheep?), Chansey(he doesnt like going to the nurse so he caught his own personal nurse but shes really pushy and they have a love/hate relationship), CoFAGrigus(everyone was really glad when his yamask evolved tbh cuz its mask looked a little Too much like Tucker and it was kinda eerie), Porygon2, Golett (theres something about the manmade mons that fits tucker really well)

Sam: Torterra(giant plant turtle with spikes she'd love this), Carnivine, Gloom, Trubbish(she found this guy in the city once and she loves him so much she'd kill for this trashbag), Shiinotic(she wouldnt like fairy types but would make an exception for the creepy mushroom), Cursola (a pokemon that was hunted to extinction and has now come back from the dead?? this is SO something Sam would have on her team)

Jazz: Noctowl, Cinccino, Drampa, Abra, Nidoran (Jazz wouldn't be someone who keeps pokemon with the intention of battling, they're just her friends or help her in other ways)

Valerie: Scizor, Lokix, Maschiff(this is cujo), Shelgon(she is aiming to get a salamance one day), Lopunny(if any of the dp characters were to be real into Mega Evolution it'd be Valerie. Idk how to explain it, but im right), Oricorio(its in pompom form when shes friends with the a-listers but Baille when she becomes Red Huntress)

Danielle: Ditto, Galarian Zigzagoon, Goomy(every goopy girl needs her goopy dragon), Eevee(like danny but she has the potential to do whatever and be whoever she wants still), toxel(her pokemon are all in their base stage still and I don't think she'll push them to evolve but rather let them decide on their own terms whether they want to or not)

Kanto was not a region Altra was used to. Sure, he'd explored at least Viridian Forest to some degree, and seen at least the near by town, but outside of that? He was at a loss, and relying on his usual tried and true method of wandering and seeing where he ended up.

At least he didn't wander alone today. Even as they trudged through the brush and overgrowth, Altra's Zigzagoon, a Galarian variant with black and white colors, rode shotgun on the teens shoulders. Said little menace had his nose up high, of course always on the look out from a more advantageous position.

But.. something didn't sit right with him. Sure, the smells of nature were all around them but.. There was something under it. Something more.. what's the word.. sterile? Artificial. Maybe it was nothing, maybe some pungent trash a careless hiker left behind.

Altra had no clue as to the observations of the tiny racoon Pokémon, so he'd continue onward. Once more.. lost. No paper maps were available in viridian City. Only electronic ones that both cost too much for his pitiful funds.. and were unusable through him.

"Haven't seen much around here.." Altra muttered. A lack of Wild Pokémon, a lack of people. It felt off, ominous even.

'Yeah, not smellin' anythin' much either.' Desmond grumbled before he related, slumped on Altra's shoulders like a fluffy scarf.

"Yeah, maybe next person we see we can ask for direc-" A pause, the light smell of smoke on the air. Not fire smoke, but somethin different, one Desmond could easily pinpoint.

'Well, might getcha wish lad, that's cigarette smoke.. It's faint, but someone's close by. Just.. be on alert.' A huff as the Zigzagoon kept to the boys shoulder as they pressed on, soon rounding around some knit trees to seeing.. an individual close by?

"Huh.. Guess your nose was right.." A clearing of the throat.

"Um.. excuse me? Do.. you know the way back to the main trail?"

Combining 2 of my fav things: BSD and Pokémon!

I’ve been thinking about what teams my favs would have and also teams for other characters so I’ll share some of em for now

First: Poe, Ranpo and Yosano!

Edgar Allan Poe:

I wanted Poe to have a mix of fairy and dark types to represent the fanatical horror of his books and his whimsically dark personality

- Zigzagoon (Partner Poké)

- Spritsy (plague inspired -> Red Death)

- Luxray (his ability has that golden star glow)

- Honchkrow (Raven)

- Absol (it prewarns of disaster and his books have some of that ofc)(it fits his vibes)

- Zoroa (because that’s my fav pokemon and he’s my fav guy <333

Edgawa Ranpo:

As we know Ranpo has no ability, which is why some of his Pokemon are normal types

- Delcatty (cat-like, closed eyes and normal)

- Abra (same eyes also very intelligent) (partner)

- Salandit (Ranpo wrote The Black Lizard)

- Munchlax

- Apalm (normal and also cheeky lil guy) (also purple)

- Orangaru (so fucking intelligent it’s unreal)

Yosano Akiko:

- Audino (butterfly ears and medical poke)

- Garchomp (the chainsaws & sadistic personality)

- Vivillon (elegant form) (butterfly need I say more?)

- Butterfree (does poison moves, fits her methinks)

- Gardevoir (elegant woman type who’ll kill you)
