There is a lot of things that are facinating to me about cletho dynamic, but maybe the funniest thing to me is the progression of it all, because I remember Cleo saying that they didn't really interact a lot with Etho before Last life, so really most of the whole dynamic developed just in the last two years and it went through so much so fast.

First their Last life alliance which was a whole thing on it's own, then it was the whole thing of Etho being deathly afraid of Cleo, then they went to being extremely mean to each other in a very funny way and just the way they were while playing TCG is it's own beautiful thing, then Limited life divorce happened, and now we have whatever Secret life presented us with. They literally have done it all,

Okay, so I'm determined to finish my Max & Will friendship, Max being a Byler shipper, fluff and angst fanfic tomorrow. Hopefully (no... definitely) I am going to edit and post it tomorrow.

I'm actually kind of in love with/am pretty proud of it, I'm just unfortunately a master procrastinator, which is what I'm doing with making this post...

okay so to recap

reasons to watch mlp:

-minty, our favorite pony. she is so delightful

-derpy, our favorite pony. she is so delightful

-maud pie, our favorite pony. she is so delightful

from what we’ve seen:

-minty is very autism-coded. she is very energetic and passionate and has a nice flow to her speech. she loves her sock collection and she always tries, even if she messes up sometimes. she is wonderful and we love her

-derpy started as a joke character, but became dearly beloved by the fandom to the point that she started being referenced in the show. these scenes were later edited to remove her name and lazy eye. while ‘derpy’ definitely isn’t the best name for a disabled character, the fix is not to remove the disability. she is funny and helpful and brightens up any scene she’s in. we love her

-maud pie is much like us. she is expressionless, her voice monotone. because of this, most mistake her as being emotionless, accusing her of not even passions. to the contrary, she has a deep fascination with geology and feels more comfortable around rocks due to them not judging her for circumstances beyond her control. she’s deeply relatable, her bond with her sister is immensely important to us, and her fight to be accepted and understood is inspiring

this will probably be the last time we bring up mlp but holy shit do we need to sit down and properly watch the show. ae want to see more of these guys 🥺

I just finished reading Shadecursed • The Bestiary book one by the super talented @chaoskirin and trust me, I'm dead serious:

Y'all must read it as well.

It tells the story of a quartet of friends, each uniquely shaped and with their own quirks, who find themselves at the center of a world-changing divine plan... without really knowing how to deal with it 😅

If you're a Queen fan, Meadow, Luka, Ptery and Benji's looks and personalities might seem awfully familiar, but they're also perfectly written original characters that have a life on their own, and the similarities with Queen become just a delightful extra treat without taking anything out of the immersion. The worldbuilding mixes Fantasy and magic with modern technology and it's very creative, cured in deep detail, but also not hard to understand. I adore also how the non-human/half-human characters move around, never forgetting wings, tails, hooves, ears...

Mind you, this is not a book for children, and touches deep themes like past traumas, violence, racism and disability with depth and care, with some tints of horror when necessary. The four protagonists' friendship is wonderful, in its ups and downs as they learn to love each other during hard times.

The story and dialogues are incredibly engaging, sometimes very funny but also very deep and introspective in a perfect balance *chef's kiss*. It's seriously a delightful book that deserves more recognition and love!

I'm sure some of you are able to relate, but have any of you had a comfort ship that literally fills your soul with pure JOY and every time you see something or better yet, HEAR A SONG/AUDIO and then you think of your comfort ship and it literally fits SO WELL???? Or is that just me...

ITS NOT OKAY, THEY MAKE ME SO HAPPY AND THEY ARE SO CUTE AND ARE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER AND EVERY TIME YOU THINK OF THE COMFORT SHIP WITH THE SONG/ADORABLE COUPLE SCENARIO IT JUST MAKES YOUR HEART MELT

The thing is that this particular song made me think of this comfort ship because there's a period during the show where THINGS AREN'T WORKING BETWEEN THEM AND THEY NEED TIME APART BUT IT HURTS BOTH OF THEM BUT WHATS GOING ON CANT BE IGNORED AND IT JUST IS SO SAD BUT THEN THEY EVENTUALLY WORK IT OUT BECAUSE THEY ARE LITERALLY PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER.

It ALSO doesn't help when the show the comfort ship is in ENDS but it's not like a canceled show ending, it's like GENUINELY PLANNED ENDING FOR THE SHOW and you just bawl your eyes out for a majority of the episode because it's so wholesome but also sad but also happy and you don't know what to do with yourself because it's such a. Good. Show. And was done So. Well.

And on top of that, it's multiple seasons (8 seasons to be specific + a musical episode & 3-soon-to-be-4 movies) of Good Quality Content and even though you know there's more content other than the main show the finale still makes you cry because the show is That Good and it's been a Journey binge watching the entire thing.

Plus, throughout the show, the comfort ship is a slow burn (kind of) and it's done so well but you get really invested in the show and the comfort ship, more than you initially realize and then things HAPPEN and NOW (back to my original point) YOUR SOUL INSTANTLY FILLS WITH DOPAMINE WHEN A SONG COMES ON AND THEN YOU THINK OF YOUR COMFORT SHIP AND YOU JUST PASS AWAY BECAUSE IT FITS AND THEY'RE JUST SO CUTE??????

I'm going to be completely honest; I cried reading this fic. There had been allusions earlier in the series comparing transitioning to a miracle, but I wasn't expecting the sheer level of euphoria/divinity that was ascribed to the process. This definitely healed some religious trauma scars left over from childhood. Plus, getting to see not just Olu and Archie's fantastic reactions/support of Jim's transition, but the rest of the cast's support (ESPECIALLY the wooden boy "play" that they all put on to help Jim deal with some of their post-surgery struggle to get back to normalcy) brought actual tears to my eyes. I cannot express just how much this one meant to me on a personal level.

i’m actually so mad about what they did with jack/maya because i love them both as individual characters but i also LOVE their relationship when it’s platonic

they could’ve had that sibling-like relationship that’s just as meaningful as a romantic relationship but then the writers had to go and make them date and make it weird, which then made a lot of other stuff weird like when maya and carina asked him to be their sperm donor

the friendship maya (and carina) share with jack is one of my favorite ones on station 19 so i do wish a lot of that had gone differently
