when I was ten I was in a children's musical production of the little mermaid. And for some reason, when the prince of the setting's seaside kingdom found out the little mermaid was, well, a mermaid, he led the townsfolk in trying to eat her, because fish is a food staple when you live by the ocean.

it was an interesting creative choice that I still think about now and then

#don't get me wrong it was funny #and the show ended with her returning to her family under the sea #but at least half the show was spent on the prince and the kingdom for it to end with 'oh you're part fish?? i love eating fish!!'#missoula children's theatre was great #their version of wizard of oz was 'wiz of the west' and at the end dorothy decided to stay with her new friends #their version of snow white had a five minute scene of the prince psyching himself up to kiss her and then giving up #and kissing his hand and then tapping her on the forehead with it #and it worked lol #calico is befuddled
