†Theropithecus oswaldi
Art credit: Roman Uchytel
This giant relative of the modern gelada was a remarkably large monkey, possibly weighing some 159 pounds (72kg). It was likely a ground-dwelling grass-eater like its living cousin, with fossils found in the south, north, and east of Africa, and even in southern Spain. It co-existed with our ancient ancestor species.

Theropithecus oswaldi - "Oswald's Beast Ape"
A massive extinct monkey from Pleistocene Africa and Eurasia. It is estimated to have been more than double the size of its modern relative, the Gelada monkey (Theropithecus gelada), the last surviving species of Theropithecus.

Shout-out to all the primates which almost got into the tournament, but not quite, including:
Palaeopropithecus, a lemur convergently evolved with a sloth,

(Smokeybjb)
The golden langur, which looks way too human for comfort,

François langur, which lives in and around limestone cliffs for some reason,

The lion-tailed macaque,

The Celebes crested macaque, better known as the monkey which took a selfie that one time,

Theropithecus oswaldi, a giant relative of geladas and mandrills which, despite sporting a huge pair of canine teeth, probably ate mostly grass,

(Roman Uchytel)
And colugos, which aren’t in the tournament because they’re not actually primates, but they are the closest relatives of primates, and they’re winners in my heart.
