Look I'm gonna put my two cents in on the 'everyone knowing Clark is Superman' thing. Do I have anything new to add, don't know, but I understand passing so here are some things I know:

First of all, even if Clark was bad at hiding his alieness, people wouldn't know. Trust me, I have been mistaken for Christian (despite giving no evidence that I was) a lot, just because I'm not what people stereotypically expect look-wise from a person of my actual religion. It's not even that I'm so far from the expectation, but Christianity is the norm so what else could I be? I am Christian until proven otherwise, white until proven otherwise. And Clark is human until proven otherwise. People are constantly making assumptions, so unless Clark straight up flies into the Daily Planet building, no, no one is going to notice.

Second of all, Clark wouldn't be bad at hiding, he's been hiding his whole life. If people find out, it's not just Clark's family at risk, but his own life, and rights. So, yeah, I think him being an alien is important enough to keep under wraps.

I get why people like the trope, and to be honest, I hadn't thought of it much until these recent conversations. At the end of the day, people like to think they are smart enough to figure it out. And you feel special, knowing a big secret like that, you feel important. I think it's also part of it is this savior narrative that makes people feel good about themselves, like when people say they would've helped escaping black slaves or hid Jews during the Holocaust (by the way, some of these people are absolutely lying). Obviously those are much more extreme examples, but eh I'm tired. And keeping a secret is a much more accessible way (less bravery involved) to be a decent person.

Yuup I think people forget the context that when you're attempting to clock someone as "x identity" you're pulling from a well of biases that are probably pretty limited. I'm assumed several types of Asians before what I actually am, especially when I'm in America but certainly not limited to there. The "Clark is human until proven otherwise" part is on the money. It's why I can't stand MAWS!Jimmy apparently figuring out Clark is a super-powered alien from breaking things constantly. Regardless of how ridiculous that characterization is for Clark (he should've gotten his powers in control by that age), is concluding that he's an alien really the next logical step? How about "huh we live in an ass apartment if things keep breaking" or "your shoes broke again? you gotta stop buying cheap ones".

I've said it before but it bears repeating, these "Everyone Knows Clark is Superman/undocumented immigrant" hcs always de-center Clark's personal life for the sake of an allyship narrative. Clark has been hiding his alien side since childhood. There's no way he wouldn't be good at hiding it by adulthood, especially considering the very real risks that even his adoptive parents understood when they forged documents to keep him safe.

Yup to that last bit too. Similarly I think readers feel confident with their metatextual knowledge of knowing who Clark and Superman are so they feel it's obvious and are frustrated when characters in Superman's context don't. And they want to prove they could be better. It's the self gratification at the expense of a lot of Clark's characterization and basic logic.

Some ideas i had while drawing ;b

chara had to take the throne cuz asriel disappeared a few days before coronation. Tho chara saw him running from the castle. Unlike ut Asgore I guess chara have anger and resentment over what az did, left his mother, father and sibling like that (which is actually not true, just chara being overdramatic in this situation, explained later). When they make up at the end of pacifist run chara continues to remind asriel of this anyway x]

Abt Asriel, he was feeling pressured for a long time, since a kid alr. He wasn't ready to become a king and..didn't really want to? And he decided to run away quietly in seeking a calmer life. Asriel knows that chara collecting the human souls, which his dad (napstablook in this au for those who randomly reading this) told him. After that asriel didn't want to rebuild any of so little connection left between them both and chara didn't want either.

So about a big drama after asriel run away xD hah asgore and toriel (takes mettaton's role) found him in the end and after he shared his feelings, they understood him and supported asriel in his decision..haaah unlike chara xp. Dreemurrs still have no idea how to reconcile them abt the matter. On their retirement btw asgore runs his little farm of snails and toriel is engaged in the show business pretty much. But they still live toghether and didn't broke up :]] (the argument between their children united them)

Also more likely frisk is 6th fallen human and seventh soul needed to break the barrier (counting with chara's soul)

'Learning Curve' is an interesting episode because how Tuvok deals with the Maquis isn't just a Tuvok Thing but also reflects how Starfleet treats its (mostly teenaged) cadets. Tuvok's tactics are very militant: Don't speak unless you're spoken to. Getting in your face to intimidate you (though he doesn't yell). What was that? Speak up. Look at me when I talk to you. Run 40 laps for disobeying and if you talk back, you get 10 more. 10 more. 10 more. No stopping for water. Clean the floor with a toothbrush for 26 hours. Tuvok was an instructor for 16 years and they were obviously more recent than not because his first stint in Starfleet led to him quitting after his first mission as an ensign. Tuvok also (as shown in the episode) isn't someone who deviates from rules and regulation.  "My methods are sound and time-honoured. I insist on strict adherence to rules and protocols. I never waver from that approach. I have always been successful in honing each cadet into a Starfleet officer." Maquis are walking out on him? He tells them they're being insubordinate. Dalby is being a problem? He says "dragging him in front of a disciplinary board" (Chakotay's joking suggestion) is "Perhaps the best approach." He's rigid in his commitment to upholding these rules even when they're obviously ineffective. All this to say that Tuvok's methods are (I think) harsh and militant, I don't think they're harsh because Tuvok made them that way. Even when that Bajoran man is made to remove his earring, it's because it's against Starfleet code. There's no consideration about what it means to have it removed. It's against code, so it must be removed regardless of its personal/cultural meaning. It's interesting then that the episode doesn't criticize Starfleet. It (rightfully) criticizes Tuvok's rigid adherence to Starfleet code and how it prevents him from connecting with the Maquis and earning their respect, but I think it would have been interesting to take the opportunity to perhaps think about whether or not Starfleet code SHOULD be followed, especially with how highly Janeway talks about it in the beginning. Tuvok was an academy instructor for almost two decades, so Starfleet obviously didn't see anything wrong with his method of teaching. Given Tuvok's disposition, if he'd received orders or criticism from Starfleet about how he taught, he would've changed it. Janeway's "We'll show them why we do what we do" could have been interesting if maybe we considered that Starfleet's methods AREN'T always effective or logical to follow and a character like Tuvok (Unemotional Vulcan) would've been a great character to explore this with. The scene in the mess hall where Chakotay punches Dalby for being insubordinate really isn't that different from Tuvok forcing Chell to run 40 laps because he's talking too much. They both even have a moment where the person they're intimidating responds too quietly and they tell them to speak up. They both do this in front of others to embarrass them and threaten to continue their punishments indefinitely unless they comply. HMM sure seems like these militant organizations aren't as different as one might think and that there's something interesting to be said about how that reflects on Starfleet, which champions itself as inherently more moral and ethical. The closest the episode comes to actually conceding that The Starfleet Way isn't always the uncontested best way is going 'Maybe we can bend a rule or two sometimes, to save a man's life' but what we NEED to be doing is interrogating the system. Like for one it's insane to me that there's no follow up scene about the Bajoran earring thing. I would have loved to see Chakotay and Janeway debating about it. And hey, maybe in the end we could have shown Tuvok truly changing by having him propose some new measures to improve Voyager that he got through speaking with and learning from the Maquis (which Chakotay catches and we end on him teasing the Vulcan about it).

If you are going to make a game here’s some things that might be helpful!

Game engines:

Godot: very new dev friendly and it’s free. Has its own programming language (GDscript) but also supports C#. It’s best for 2D games but it can do 3D also.

Unity: I don’t even know if I should be recommending Unity. It has caused me much pain and the suffering. But Unity has an incredible amount of guides and tutorials. And once you get the hang of something it’s hard to get caught on the same thing again. It also has a great Visual Studio integration and uses C#. I will warn you the unity animator is where all dreams go to die. It’s a tedious process but you can probably get some plugins to help with that.

Unreal: Don’t use it unless you’re building a very large or very detailed 3D game. It also uses C++ which is hell.

Renpy: Made for visual novels but has support for small mini games. It only supports Python iirc. Basically if you’re making a VN it’s renpy all the way otherwise you should look elsewhere.

What to learn: Game design and how to act as your own game designer. As a designer you need to know if a part of your game isn’t meshing with the rest of it and be willing to give up that part if needed. Also sound design is very important as well. If you want to make your own sounds audacity is perfect for recording and cutting up your clips. If you want to find sound effects I recommend freesound.org and the YouTube royalty free music database.

Sadly I can’t recommend a lot of places to learn this stuff because I’m taking Game Development in Uni. So most of my info comes from my lectures and stuff. One of my game design textbooks is pretty good but it’s around $40 CAD. It’s called the game designers playbook by Samantha Stahlke and Pejman Mirza-Babaei if you’re interested (fun fact there’s a photo of Toriel in there)

Anyway sorry for dumping this large ask on you I’m just really passionate about game design and I like to see other people get into it.

please do not apologize I'd never heard half of this stuff so this is super useful!! I've seen some godot tutorials on YouTube although so far I've played around with RPG maker MV (it was on sale. very very fiddly interface, i had trouble getting around it) and gamemaker, which recently became free for non-commercial use (a lot more approachable on first impact but like i said, haven't really done anything substantial in either yet).

mostly, I'm still in the super vague stage. I've got an idea for the main story conflict, the protagonist and their foil, the general aesthetic i want to go for (likely 2D graphics, but it would be cool to make like. small cutscenes in low-poly 3D) but not much else. haven't exactly decided on the gameplay either! it's gonna necessarily be rpg-esque, but I'm not much of a fan of classic turn-based combat so. I'm gonna check out other games and see if i can frankenstein anything cooler :P

The saddest idea for what happened to Chara in Deltarune is that they climbed the Mt. Ebbot like in Undertale but well...since the monsters left early on, there's no-one to save Chara when they fall and so they just lie there or wander around wounded until they are..."erased from existence" just like they always wanted.
