Honestly I'd personally go for a more book accurate depiction of Carmilla's appearance. Both because her being a blatantly in-human super pale elf looking lady doesn't really make much sense in the context of the story (she's posing as an ostensibly normal young woman) and it's specifically pointed out in text that the deathly paler often ascribe to vampires is a mere melodramatic fiction.
