A suicidal minor with food sensory issues, mommy issues, and a tiny bit of daddy issues. The brains of the team/the researcher and the mom/therapist/silent friend of the group that’s there for you but never speaks up. Kinda don’t really have any friends. The trio I’m in is more of a duo with a little thing tacked on. i personally dont like the idea of the main three having childhoods bcuz that defeats the whole purpose of them being characters trapped/created specifically for television. i find it much more interesting when they dont have one and make one up/fill in the dots themselves and come up with insane versions of events that never happened to fill the void in their memories (like ducks “goodbye david” sequence where he remembers winning tournaments or flying planes he obvs never flew)

HOWEVER

if duck had a childhood id like to think hed grow up an orphan at an old fashioned boys home. the boys would all dream of going into the military some day, with all of them but duck leaving to pursue military schools at young ages.

duck would be told that the reason he hasnt left yet is because hes different than the other creatures there— hes a smaller bird that takes longer to grow. at the time hed look weak and small but some day he’d grow into a big, powerful swan and dominate the others in the army!

of course— that would all be a lie. by the time duck would hit adulthood hed be hit with the realization that he was never a swan, he was simply a runt who was supposed to die young— who was deemed “far too weak” to be in any serious position ESPECIALLY a soldier.

but id also like to think his only physical reference of a swan would be a show-woman on tv who hed take his personality from— an old flapper in some grainy movie, perhaps, that took up the entire screen with her feathers— the complete opposite of the big strong masculine swan the caretakers would tell him hed be. Hed have two references for a swan— two ideas of strength and beauty and they’d fight in his head over which hed become some day. but in the end it wouldnt matter because hed never grow any bigger or any closer to either of them. or maybe im projecting my bigenderality onto him idk anyways. maybe he saw the tv glow idk
