vividly imagining a little notebook buddy's crew keep (first uncaring whether it saw, then welcoming its curiosity) that's filled with information they learn/guess about it. different sections written by different crewmates. noting habits. learning about it, about masked. what does it eat, and how often? other masked seemed unsettled by it. it sleeps rests curled in a corner. does it not feel pain? it seeks warmth from apparatus and bodies and despises the ice moons' weather. seven started calling it buddy and now she can't use that to get anyone else's attention because it'll get its attention. its name is buddy now. it watches us sleep and yesterday five nearly tripped over it. it bruises itself just by walking. it hates snare fleas. I don't think it likes hoarding bugs either. it can hiss and growl. pry an old host open to see what's inside. never do that again it just oozes blood everywhere . it can't speak. the mask rattles when it's happy. it can mangle the host's voice for its own use. creature of few words. it said goodnight. a bracken got to it and it just snapped its head the right way around. this morning it began to buzz.
