in absence of a reunion noel interview i'm going back to revisit the great gallagher thaw of late 2014/early 2015 to try to make some sense outta these strange reunion times we are in now.
i've been really curious about this time period for awhile and stockpiling posts with the intention of assembling them in some kind of chronological order. still not quite sure what i'm looking at but it's a bit like find the edge pieces of a puzzle and snapping them together for a frame. you can get a vague idea while understanding much of the pieces are missing to complete the picture. most notably noel is giving interviews at this time while liam is mostly out of the public eye entirely.
assembled them in the queue and looking at them in order now and getting a bit choked up by what we have. even factoring in the normal album press cycle, noel's interviews have noticeable outlier moments during this time. charting his uncharacteristically relaxed calm fondness to emotionally raw moments when mentioning liam, it does look like any attempt at a truce all goes south within a months time (mid february to mid march 2015). coincidence itâs when dead in the water is written and the chasing yesterday is released? of course itâs not lost on me it also is at a period of nostalgia with the 20th anniversaries of their first two albums and part of the buzz about a reunion driven by stone roses reunion. but in the course of the entire feud it sticks out as different. and suggests noel was more invested in a reconciliation than heâd ever be willing to admit.
queuing them up now. when they're done posting i'll link them to the chronological list below to access them easily.

If one were new to watching NXT and wanted to catch up with all the trickunov promos and matches... where does one start
Oooo you came to the right place, you know she got the full encyclopedia for those two đ© but heads up, it's LONG
Carmelo is obviously gonna be all over this thing because this storyline was a three-way feud for a long time and Trick's relationships with him and Ilja paralleled each other for a long time.
Sidenote that I'm only pointing out the stuff relevant to the Trickunov relationship and the characters interacting with it, but there was a lot of fun "ship-friendly" stuff going on in NXT at this time that you can keep an eye out for in case you happen to enjoy it and want to follow it too - some examples are the Axiom/Nathan partnership (my beloved comic book bfs and the only duo that's still together today đ„Č), the Lyra/Tatum toxic yuri saga, the creation of the Wolf Dogs, Tiffany vs Fallon etc.
For all the Trickunov canon thus far, we're starting in February of 2023 with their very first on-screen interaction - below is a list of pretty much all the moments that directly or indirectly impacted their rivalry:
February 07 - Carmelo (w/Trick) vs JD McDonagh
February 14 - Ilja backstage interview + in ring promo w/ Trick + Trick and Melo backstage segment
February 21 - Ilja vs Trick I + locker room segment w/ Trick, Melo and Tyler
Then they both get caught up in other stuff for a bit so you can skip ahead to:
July 11 - opening segment + Ilja vs Bron (much better than the one we just had on raw AND it had important stakes) + main event tag match w/ Judgment Day
July 18 - opening segment + backstage segment with Schism
The Great American Bash 2023 - Carmelo vs Ilja I
July 25 - Melo, Trick and Ilja vs Schism + post-match backstage angle + backstage segment with Trick and Melo + main event segment.
August 01 - Backstage segment w/ Trick and Melo + Ilja promo package (this one is easy to miss - it plays at the very end of the episode, after the main event match)
August 08 - In-ring promo between Trick and Ilja
Heatwave 2023 - Ilja vs Trick II
August 15 - nothing too relevant in this episode but I like the backstage segment between Melo and Wes for how it hints at Melo becoming a heel + Trick makes a silly dragon pun after his match with Gulak + there's a short hype package for their match that plays before Tyler vs Joe;
August 29 - Ilja in-ring promo (where he starts by singing Trick's praises and ends up getting bullied by Meta-Four lmfao)
September 05th - Ilja vs Oro post-match segment w/ Wes and Melo + backstage segment w/ Trick and Ilja
September 12 - Ilja vs Wes Lee + backstage segment between Trick and Melo
September 19 - Ilja backstage interview + Trick & Dom backstage interaction + Melo vs Dom (w/ Ilja on commentary) + Melo parking lot interview
No Mercy - Carmelo vs Ilja II
September 26 - Trick vs Gacy post-match interview + Backstage segment w/ Trick and Melo + Fatal Four-way match + Melo and Ilja contract signing
October 03 - In-ring segment between Ilja, Trick and Melo + Trick vs Dom
October 10 - this is the famous crossover episode extravaganza but watch the opening segment + Ilja vs Dom (w/ LA Knight as the ref lmfao) because it's messy fun and Trick makes an appearance. The Trick & Melo segment with John Cena is also important foreshadowing
October 17 - Carmelo in-ring promo feat. multiple "guests" + Trick's backstage attack + main event match
Halloween Havoc (Night 2) - Ilja vs Melo III
You can skip a bit again while Ilja deals with Corbin and Melo continues to act shady but please watch Ilja vs Nathan from the 28 November episode - it's short but it's great and it displays how volatile Ilja was during his feud with Baron Corbin - it's even on YT in full here. Then watch Deadline for the Men's Iron Survivor match and the brief post-match angle after Ilja vs Corbin (I'm not a fan of this match but the promo package is very good in giving Ilja some more depth, so check that out too)
December 12 - Two opening segments + medical room promo + main event segment
December 19 - Backstage segment between Trick and Melo + Ilja in-ring promo + backstage segment between Trick and Ilja + another one with Trick and Melo + Ilja vs Ridge Holland post-match angle (tw for like REALLY good selling - a lot of people thought it was legit when it leaked from audiences at the tapping)
December 26 - Backstage segment between Melo and Trick + Contract signing segment between Trick and Ilja (plays after the main event match)
January 02 - New Year's Evil is just extra story development with a few fun cameos - watch Kelly's backstage report after the opening match + the segment between Melo, Trick and a surprise Grayson Waller + another segment later between Melo and Trick + Trick vs Grayson (feat. another great cameo)
January 09 - Backstage Melo & Trick segment (also PLEASE watch the Fallon and Tiffany segments even if you're not following their story, they are GOLD)
January 16 - Opening match (optional) + Melo, Trick and Ilja backstage segment + another Trick and Melo one later on discussing Vengeance Day
January 23 - Ilja backstage interview + Trick and Melo backstage segment + Trick vs Briggs w/ Ilja on commentary + Trick and Melo backstage after the match
January 30 - Melo and Trick backstage segment + main event promo between Trick and Ilja
Vengeance Day - Ilja vs Trick III
Feb 06 - Opening segment + Ilja in-ring segment + Melo's in-ring promo + Ilja vs Dijak
Feb 13 - Not much here, just Melo defeating Gacy in a match and mouthing off at the camera to taunt Ilja
Feb 20 - Melo promo + Ilja promo
Feb 27 - Ilja & Melo in-ring promo + Ilja & Ava backstage + Melo promo + main event segment (Ilja was so unserious here and I live for it. also lots of Paxlyra on this one)
Not much happens between Roadblock and Stand & Deliver (April 06) - watch the post-main event promo from Trick on March 19 and the final confrontation between him and Melo on the April 02 main event segment. The Ilja vs Tony feud isn't mandatory viewing but the segments are fun and so was their PLE match. Trick vs Melo sadly wasn't that great, so you can choose to just watch their actual final match later on instead
Road Block - Melo vs Tony
April 09 - Main event segment between Ilja and Trick
Here you'll notice WWE started WILDLY rushing things due to the upcoming Draft (because ofc they'd fumble near the finish line).
I believe the final Trickunov match was originally supposed to be at Heatwave - marking exactly 1 year since the match that, in-storyline (and irl) started Trick's rise to stardom. This is based on the abrupt shift in storyline flow and the original Heatwave marketing, which prominently featured them both, as well as Lyra and Carmelo (it has since been updated to remove the three who got drafted).
So what ended up happening was the last match was booked for Spring Breakin' instead so Ilja could be called up immediately after. The same thing happened to Lyra and her story with Tatum and I'll be forever bitter about it. Back to viewing:
April 16 - Trick vs Melo (the "real" end to their feud + Ilja shows up at the end too)
Spring Breakin' April 23 - Ilja vs Trick IV
Bonus: backstage footage of Spring Breakin' included in this video package that honestly feels so in-character that I'm simply choosing to consider it kayfabe-compliant lmfao + Ilja's draft to RAW feat. a very funny reaction from Trick and the post-draft interview where you can see Trick in the background listening in and smiling + reacting and laughing when Ilja says sharing a roster with Gunther is "destiny" and I thought it was cute?
And that's it!... for now đ
Extra bonus moments post- Spring Breakin':
Trick thanks Ilja
Meta-Four make fun of their relationship
#trickunov#trick williams#ilja dragunov#if you think i went too deep just know i considered adding an analysis of every segment but im exercising self-restraint đ#carla answers a thing

To Perfection

Mr. Perfect, also know as Curt Hennig, was an American professional wrestler. Considered one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time by peers, critics, and fans, he performed under his real name for promotions including the American Wrestling Association (AWA), the World Wrestling Federation (WWF; now WWE), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and NWA Total Nonstop Action. Hennig was the son of wrestler Larry "The Axe" Hennig and the father of wrestler Curtis Axel.

Curt Hennig started his WWF career in 1981. His first victory was against Johnny Rodz. He established himself as a promising young performer against the likes of "Playboy" Buddy Rose, Greg Valentine and Killer Khan. Eventually, he was paired-up in tag team matches with another young upstart, Eddie Gilbert, himself the son of a wrestling legend.

Hennig made his televised in-ring return on the September 11 roughly around 1988, episode of All-American Wrestling, defeating enhancement talent Ron Rovishod. On the October 1 episode of Superstars, vignettes began airing on WWF television, during which he was repackaged with a new character of an arrogant braggart villain who claimed to be able to accomplish difficult tasks "perfectly", thus earning the nickname of "Mr. Perfect," originally Terry Taylor was offered the gimmick but rejected it and Hennig took the gimmick. He presented himself as being superior in athletics or anything else he did. These clips showed him hitting half-court, three-point, and no-look basketball shots, bowling a score of 300, running the table in billiards, throwing then catching his own Hail Mary football pass, sinking a long golf putt, hitting home runs and making bulls-eyes in darts. Stars of various major league sports, including Wade Boggs (MLB), Steve Jordan (NFL), Felton Spencer (NBA), and Mike Modano (NHL), co-starred with Hennig in these vignettes. Hennig performed for the first time as Mr. Perfect on the October 4 episode of Prime Time Wrestling, where he defeated Jim Brunzell.

Heâd go on to feud with the likes of Bret Hart, Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper to name a few. He held the IC, US and tag titles either in WWE or wCw when he was signed there. With the help of Bret Hart he is one of the many reasons wrestling is more technical then it was back in the 80s, which is why he is considered one of the greatest wrestlers never to hold a world title. After his passing he did however earn his spot in the WWE HOF and will forever be remembered for his legacy!

March 26th 1697 saw Sir Godfrey McCulloch of Galloway lose his head on The Maiden in Edinburgh.
Born circa 1640, Godfrey McCulloch inherited not only his father's hereditary title of baronet of Nova Scotia but overwhelming debt forcing him to sell the estates of Myretoun, Killaser and Ardwell.
He also inherited a running feud his father had started with the Gordons of Galloway, and, at the same time, resorted to every ruse to evade his creditors.
The McCulloch-Gordon feud came to a head on 2nd October 1690 when in the course of a dispute over some cattle, Sir Godfrey shot William Gordon in the leg, a bullet wound that turned out to be fatal and a murder charge. McCulloch fled to the continent, but eventually â thereâs no place like home â returned, and was recognized in Edinburgh.
The charge against him read:
You [Sir Godfrey] did most maliciously and wickedly and out of long precogtat malice upon the second day of October or ane or other days of that month or of the September preceding in the year sixteen hundred and nyntie years goe to the house of the deceast William Gordone of Cairdeness who at that time lived in the Bush of Beele and having caused call the said William Gordone to come furth and speak to a man that waited for him the said William at the time in his own house making ready to go to sermon which was at that day at the kirk of Anwith and not apprehending the least hurt or mischeiffe offered to goe furth and came towards the gate where and when you, the said Sir Godfrey, did shoot at him with a gunn charged and by the shott broke his thighbone and leg and also wounded him in other parts of his body, soe that he immediately fell to the ground and within a few hours thereafter dyed of the said shott and wounds and farder, you was so barbarous and inhumane in perpetuating the sais slaughter that you insulted over the said William fallen as said is saying Now dog I have got myself avenged of you; and you discharged any from lifting him up but ordered and commanded such as were there to dryve the nolt over the dog as you wickedly called him.
In December 1696, he returned to Scotland and was apprehended under the alias of Mr Johnstoune living in an obscure house in Edinburgh. Sir Godfrey was incarcerated in the Tolbooth Prison, to which he was no stranger, having been lodged there some years earlier pending the payment of a fine levied on him in 1668 for his share in his father's persecution of the Gordons. He was tried on 7th February 1697, duly found guilty and sentenced to be
"taken to the Mercat Croce upon Friday the fifth day of March next to come betwixt two and four o'clock in the afternoon and there to have his head severed from his body and all his moveable goods and gear to be escheat and inbrought to His Majesties use which is pronounced for doom."
The delay was due to an appeal that failed, and eventually Sir Godfrey McCulloch was not actually executed until 26th March and wrote a lengthy Farewell letter to his wife and children. As he stepped up to the Maiden, the Scottish version of the guillotine, he was allowed to make a Farewell speech.
That's not the end of the story though as it is said four Galloway gentlemen held the scarlet cloth to receive Sir Godfrey's head - an honour in those days - one of them being a Mr Vance of Barnbarroch who related afterwards that after McCulloch's head fell the body stood up and ran for about 100 yards!!!!
If you want to know more about the feud and McCulloch you can read the whole story titled A Wild Scot of Galloway - Sir Godfrey McCulloch at the link below.

More RL updates
I managed to find an old cable to plug the main screen to the integrated graphics card which had an older port. It works fine, enough to allow me to keep using my most used software and normal internet navigation. Not enough for heavy duty graphic power like running Unity 3D or VRCHAT to test out the 3D avatars I make to get some extra kromer to afford a new tablet.
I'm going to change the goal on my Ko-Fi to adjust it to fund the new GPU. Without GPU I can forfeit any use of a new tablet because it needs to be plugged to a GPU to work. My Ko-Fi is here if interested into helping me getting the GPU faster https://ko-fi.com/spwatchton
For anything else, I'll see if I can finally upload something about the project, that has been delayed since this past 21st (which was when I had plans to upload it first). I also has the itch of drawing Sears to cheer myself up. This summer has been very cumbersome and again uncertainty looms in the future as we reach September and October (which are the deadlines for the trial).
My mood is down in the slums as certain people who called themselves friends abandoned me just because I refused a gift that I had no need to use, but that the kromer alone would have helped me to solve other more pressing problems instead (and they got angry as a result, for not accepting the imposition of that gift that was useless to me and that I had no right to turn into coin so I got none in the end). It's obvious that no friend would punish you by rescinding the invisible "friendship contract" they had with you, but here is where I am now, short of 2 "friends" while pulling forward with what little I considered my allies. I find it hard to smile while perusing the Spamton artwork of others nowadays. Guess I'm going through some degree of depression... Hope it will pass in time, so that I can recover the spring in my step and draw more.
I wish for you a wonderful September. Some will start their college and school. I know that some others started those during August but here in Europe some countries does this during the first week of September. Hope you have a good return from the summer vacations. It feels so far away in time for me since I had any vacations... Yeah, so many many years ago, when my family was still whole and not driven to the brows into blood feuds. I must go on...
#RL-updates#need-a-new-GPU#kromer-donations-are-always-welcome#I feel like Spamton more and more with all the praying and beggar action#and I feel more like Spamton with all the issue of the âfriendsâ abandoning me just because; I don't even know what I did wrong...#am I a bad person or something?

Don Felizardo de Rivera, Founder of Pila
Don Felizardo de Rivera y Evangelista (1755-1810) was the eldest of the three Rivera brothers, Don Felizardo, Don Miguel and Don Rafael. They were the owners of the estate Hacienda de Sta. Clara. They were the sons of Don Juan de Rivera, who had inherited the estate from the Spanish noble family, the Thenorios, and passed it on to his sons.
In the 18th century, due to flooding from its original location near the Laguna de Bay, the original town of Pila and its Church needed to be located to higher ground. So the Riveras planned to move it, just like their ancestor the Datu of Pila, Datu Maguinto, did in the 13th century.
However, a long, heated and controversial dispute rose between two prominent families at the time: The Riveras and the Relovas ("Pros" and "Antis". Don Regino Relova y San Antonio wanted the relocation on his land. Don Felizardo Rivera insisted that the town and church be moved to his hacienda in Sta. Clara.
Don Felizardo won after a long battle (starting October 14, 1794 and ending on July 13, 1803) after made an agreement with the parish priest: If the church was relocated to his estate, he pledged "the spiritual and material support of the Riveras to the church of St. Anthony in perpetuum up to the last of their line." The parish priest agreed.
Don Felizardo donated his lands to the church and to the municipal government but he also retained ownership of the lots surrounding what was to be the town plaza. He became the architect of the town's design, following Spanish colonial layout. He even built a kiln for manufacturing bricks and tiles for rebuilding the church, which was "transferred stone by stone" from its old location. The the ancestral houses were built around the plaza and the town municipio (municipal hall) was built opposite the church. With the assistance of the prominent families of Oca, Ruiz, and de Castro, he rebuilt the town of Pila ("Nuevo Pila") as it is to this day.
Don Felizardo served as gobernadorcillo in 1805, 1807, and 1809. He died on October 13, 1810 at the age of 55. He asked that "he be robed in the Franciscan habit upon his death and that a funeral mass be celebrated with him facing the altar of the newly-built church prior to his burial in the church crypt." His will (currently in the possession of the Rivera Family) was notarized by the town mayor at the time. At the time of his death, both pros and antis came to pay their respects and drop the long feud (the families later intermarried.) Don Felizardo's son Jose de Rivera later took over the gobernadorcillo post in 1811.
Don Felizardo de Rivera is the recognized founder of (Nuevo Pila) present-day Pila, Laguna, and the ancestor of the four main prominent families in Pila: Rivera, Relova, Agra and Alava.
WHEN A TOWN HAS TO MOVE: HOW PILA (LAGUNA) TRANSFERRED TO ITS PRESENT SITE (1794-1811) Luciano P.R. Santiago Philippine Quarterly of Culture and Society, Vol. 11, No. 2/3 (June/September 1983), pp. 93-106 (14 pages) https://www.jstor.org/stable/29791789
--------------------------------------------------
During the 16th and 17th centuries, one of the earliest known leaders of Pila under Spanish Colonial Period was Don Antonio Maglilo (1696-1712), who governed Pila like his father Don Francisco Maglilo (1599), (Santiago, Ancient Pila, pg 11), the descendant of datu Maguinto.
In 1728, Don Magliloâs descendant, Don Juan de Rivera, the founder of one of Pilaâs most prominent families, the Rivera clan, became mayor of Pila. The Riveraâs were a âmajor branch of the Maglilo(s)â and changed their surname to âRiveraâ, the âTaga-ilogâ, or âPeople of the Riverâ. (Santiago, Ancient Pila, pg 17).
Don Juan de Rivera married Doña Josepha Thenorio, who descended from Spanish nobility from Extremadura, Spain. The Thenorio family matriarch was Doña Maria CortĂ©s de Monroy, the sister of Spanish Conquistador HernĂĄn CortĂ©s (1485-1547). (Santiago, Ancient Pila, pg 16). (Writerâs Note: Cortes had relations and a child with the Aztec princess Doña Isabel Moctezuma (born Tecuichpoch Ixcaxochitzin; 1509/1510 â 1550/1551), a daughter of the Aztec ruler Moctezuma II, and Cortesâs sister Doña Mariaâs descendants married the descendants of a Philippine Pre-Hispanic king.)
Don Juan's descendant, Don Felizardo de Rivera (1755-1810), was at first a town executive from 1792 to 1793. He was governor of Pila in 1792. During the town move, he had drawn up grid plans (Cuadricula) in 1790 for the new site (where Pila was to be moved) based on the classical Spanish system of 'church-plaza-town hall complex' as originally prescribed by the 'Laws of the Indies (1573)' (laws issued by the Spanish Crown for town planning). He had become a self-taught architect. When the transfer was officially sanctioned (approved), he implemented his plans by serving as gobernadorcillo (governor) in 1805, 1807, and 1809 (he died in 1810). Because of his orderly design (of the town), Don Felizardo is considered the founder of 'Nuevo Pila (New Pila).' Don Felizardo retained all the residential lots around the rectangular plaza between the church and the town hall for the ancestral houses. The principal street is christened 'Rivera', which connects (the town) 'like a long umbilical cord' (back to) Pagalangan. (Santiago, Ancient Pila, pg 25). All the lots around the town plaza were given by Don Felizardo to his heirs, and the ancestral houses now stand on those lots.
Pila was moved again due to flooding from the lake, to Don Felizardoâs Hacienda in Santa Clara, Laguna. (Santiago, The Roots of Pila, Laguna, pgs 9, 10). On May 20, 1804, Pila Church was also moved to land at the hacienda. (Santiago, The Roots of Pila, Laguna, pgs 10, 11, 13) Today, the 200-plus year-old church is now called the San Antonio de Padua church, which was declared the National Shrine of San Antonio de Padua, contains a relic of the saint and is one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. The ruins of the original church are still standing at Pagalangan and have a historical marker as the site of the original church of Pila.
Don Felizardo is considered the founder of the present-day town of "Nueva Pila" ("New Pila") and the townâs designer and architect in the Spanish colonial grid style of city planning. (Santiago, The Roots of Pila, Laguna, pg 12). The Pila Municipal Hall was later built in June 1931, across from the Church, on land previously owned by Doña Corazon Rivera de Del Mundo, daughter of Don Luis Rivera. (Santiago, The Roots of Pila, Laguna, pg 20).
In his 1810 Last Will and Testament, Don Felizardo identifies himself as âTaong Tunai at Maguinooâ (a true maginoo). The document is with the Rivera family of Pila, Laguna.

Revolution preview
Sting & Darby Allin vs. Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson - This is for the AEW tag team championship. Sting and Allin won the belts on February 7, and moments later the Young Bucks savagely attacked them as well as Sting's sons. This is billed as a "tornado tag team match," which just means nobody has to tag in and out and they can brawl all over the place.
Sting, who will turn 65 later this month, announced in October that this he would retire on this show. He debuted in 39 (!) years ago in 1985, and I've been watching him for nearly 35 (!!) of those years. Hell, the guy is in my Tumblr profile pic, along with Robocop. It's fair to say Stinger's choice of tag partner has improved since then.
I had originally expected Darby would be Sting's final opponent in a one-on-one match, so doing this tag match is a bit of a letdown. But it's clear by now that Sting needs to be carried by a partner, and not just by his opponents. We can expect Allin and the Bucks to bounce (and/or bleed) all over the place to disguise the fact that Sting can't do much. Sting will probably hold up his end of the match with one or two crazy spots--he probably shouldn't, at this stage of his life, but he's not going to stop until tomorrow.
I had been thinking Sting would probably do the job in his last match, even if it was against a heel team like the Bucks. But after the bloodbath on February 7, I'm not sure anyone will settle for less than Sting getting revenge. What that means for the tag belts is anyone's guess, but I'm leaning towards Sting and Darby to retain.
Samoa Joe vs. Swerve Strickland vs. Adam Page - Joe is defending the AEW men's world title. Strickland was named the #1 contender a few weeks ago, but Page, the #2 contender, demanded a match for that spot, which ended in a time limit draw. So we get a three-way. Ugh.
Page and Strickland started feuding in September, because Swerve wants to win the world title and Page happened to be a convenient stepping stone. After Strickland beat Page twice, he was ready to move on, but Page was still incensed about the way Swerve broke into his home to taunt him. At this point, though, Page is the heel in the rivalry, because Swerve is super cool and Page is increasingly whiny about trying to keep Swerve from winning the title.
I hate three-way matches because they can't settle anything. Nothing that happens in this match can resolve the Page/Strickland feud. Joe can't definitvely knock either challenger out of top contention, because both of them will have excuses if they lose. The guy who doesn't get pinned in a three-way can always whine for a one-on-one rematch, and the guy who does get pinned can always say "I never got my one-on-one title shot." So this match is just filler until AEW inevitably runs it back with the matches I actually want to see: Joe vs. Page, Joe vs. Swerve, and the next installment of Swerve vs. Page.
I've seen a lot of buzz for Strickland, and it feels like everybody is saying AEW needs to pull the trigger now and put the title on him. I think it's too early to take the belt off Joe, but Swerve's definitely got something, and AEW needs to strike while the iron is hot. That's why I think they booked this as a three-way, to give us "Swerve is in a world title match" without beating him or belting him. One way or another, I expect Joe to retain in a way that makes it Page's fault that Strickland is not the world champion. After Swerve settles his business with Page, then I think he'll set up for a proper one-on-one title bout and finally get the gold. But not today.
Christian Cage vs. Daniel Garcia - Cage is defending the AEW TNT title. Adam Copeland appeared to be the obvious challenger for this show. However, Garcia got the pin in a trios match against Cage, Nick Wayne, and Killswitch, and somehow decided that pinning Wayne means he can beat Christian. A Copeland vs. Garcia match to settle things went to a no-contest when Cage's group attacked both guys. Now Copeland is selling a worked injury, so Garcia gets the shot.
This is kind of interesting since Garcia has been on a roll of late, and Matt Menard's weird "Danny Garcia is my son" gimmick contrasts with Christian's weird father figure gimmick. But unless Garcia wins the title or somehow gets adopted by Cage, I don't really see anything coming out of this. Best guess is that they're saving the next Cage vs. Copeland match for later, and this is just a placeholder. Cage will retain.
Eddie Kingston vs. Bryan Danielson - Eddie is the AEW continental champion, the ROH men's world champion, and the STRONG men's champion. I think all three belts are on the line, but they haven't made it clear how unified these titles are supposed to be. During the Continental Classic tournament, these two went 1-1 against each other. Eddie is content with getting a win over a guy who never respected him, but Danielson still won't give Eddie his due. So if Kingston wins, Bryan will be obligated to shake Eddie's hand.
I like both guys, but this kind of storyline is why Toni Storm popped me when she mocked male wrestlers for making every storyline about being angry and demanding respect. I believe Eddie will win but I don't believe Danielson is going to suddenly show him respect if he does. Even if Bryan does have a change of heart, I won't buy that either, because he's said and done stuff he can't take back with one handshake. None of Danielson's griping about Eddie makes sense in the first place, now that Eddie is a major-league wrestler and a literal world champion. I hope Kingston just wins to put an end of this, but something tells me this will never end.
Toni Storm vs. Deonna Purrazzo - Purrazzo, only two month after jumping to AEW from TNA, is challenging for the AEW women's world title. The backstory is that these two were close friends when they were coming up (in the indies, Japan, and WWE developmental), but now Deonna is a great technician and Toni is totally insane.
The build for this has been pretty ridiculous, but I have to say I'm really looking forward to the match. Purrazzo's great and I look forward to her working with all the other top women in the company. Storm's character is a trainwreck but she portrays that trainwreck so skillfully that it only enhances her act. This could go either way, but I personally think a Purrazzo title win is what's best for the women's division right now.
Orange Cassidy vs. Roderick Strong - This is for Cassidy's AEW international title. AEW spent three months building up intrigue about The Devil and who was under the mask, and the payoff was Adam Cole (who is injured) betraying MJF (who is also injured) and assembling the Undisputed Kingdom stable. Roddy is effectively the #2 guy in the new faction, so he's chasing one of the midcard titles. Orange kinda doesn't give a shit, and neither do I, but I guess the match will be good. I could see Strong winning the belt here, but I could just as easily see Orange retaining--this one's too close to call.
Will Ospreay vs. Konosuke Takeshita - This will be Ospreay's first match in AEW since he signed with the company in November, and fulfilled his New Japan obligations in February. Both men are aligned with the Don Callis Family; the idea here is that the faction has run out of enemies to fight, so Don is putting on a little exhibition here. Ospreay has been getting cheered a lot for the past few months, except when he's standing around Callis, so I get the feeling this is setting up his exit from the stable. I think Ospreay needs to win his first match as an AEW guy, but it's weird to think Takeshita is going to lose at this point. Maybe they'll do a clusterfuck finish or something?
Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler - FTR (Dax and Cash) and Mox/Claudio went to a 20-minute draw on February 21, so they're running it back here. You're never going to believe this, but both sides are angry and demand respect. In other breaking news, Dax Harwood believes his opponents don't understand what this is about. I assume this match will have a longer time limit, but I'm not sure they've announced that. They pretty much have to come close to 30 minutes this time, but I don't think there's room on this show for them to do 40. Greensboro is basically FTR country, so I think they should pick up the win. But something tells me that won't end the feud...
Chris Jericho vs. HOOK vs. Wardlow vs. Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Brian Cage vs. Lance Archer vs. Magnus vs. Dante Martin - This is an eight-way match billed as an "all-star scramble." I assume everybody's just gonna fight all over the place, and the first man to score a fall wins the match. The winner will earn a future men's world title shot. This was originally supposed to be Wardlow, Hobbs, Archer, and I think Cage in a "meat madness" match with some other big beefy dudes, but Miro and Keith Lee aren't medically cleared so they changed the match to include Jericho and some smaller dudes.
If you're like me, and you saw this matchup and wondered who Magnus is, he's a CMLL guy who qualified for this match by beating Matt Sydal on March 1. I'm sure he'll do some cool stuff but I can't imagine he'll win.
The key storylines here are Jericho vs. Hobbs and Cage vs. Hook, but I don't expect much progress here. The Undisputed Kingdom plan for Wardlow to win the world title and then hand it to Adam Cole, so this might be step one in that plan. I'm not sure it's time for Wardlow to chase the world title, but I guess I'll pick him to win for lack of a more obvious choice.
Julia Hart & Skye Blue vs. Kris Statlander & Willow Nightingale - This is scheduled for the pre-show. These four have been fighting since Hart won the AEW TBS title from Statlander, and used black mist to turn Skye to the dark side. The latest development is that Stokely Hathaway wants to manage Kris, and wants Kris to cheat like a heel, but Kris forces him to put up with super-happy-babyface Willow. So I guess Stoke is trying to turn Kris to the dark side, but a different dark side. Like, Julia's on the spooky Kevin Sullivan dark side, and Stoke is more of a Jimmy Hart kind of dark side. I either want to see Willow pin Julia to set up a title bout, or for Julia to get the win to move on to some other challengers.
Jay White & Max Caster & Anthony Bowens & Billy Gunn & Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn vs. Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal & Satnam Singh & Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy & Willie Mack - Another pre-show match. Back in January, the Acclaimed (Caster & Bowens) and Billy Gunn proposed an alliance with Bullet Club Gold (Jay White & Austin & Colten), and they became the Bang Bang Scissor Gang. The original idea was to gain an advantage over the Undisputed Kingdom, which would make sense, except that instead of feuding the Undisputed Kingdom the BBSG just starting squashing a lot of jobbers in six-man and twelve-man matches. Tonight's opponents feel especially random--I suppose Jarrett/Lethal/Singh is an established trio, but I'm not sure Mack has even met Quen & Kassidy before. This should be an easy win for the BBSG and mainly a pretext for them to do some wacky comedy in their intro.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated : APRIL 1996
close-up: THE KID
part 1
Transcript Below!!!
Continued teaming with Holly; they scored numerous victories over the Heavenly Bodies ⊠Seconded Ramon for his Wrestlemania XI I-C title match against Jarrett and helped clear the ring of Jarrett and The Roadie after the match, which ended with âDouble-Jâ being disqualified ⊠That started a new feud, with Ramon and The Kid going after Jarrett and Roadie. But in a tag team match on April 24. The Kid reaggravated a neck injury he suffered earlier in the month ⊠Was pinned by The Roadie in one of his earliest return matches ⊠Was pinned by Hakushi at SummerSlam â95 ⊠Trouble started brewing during a match between Ramon and Dean Douglas at the September 24 In Your House card ⊠Referee Tim White was hurt and out of position when Ramon had Douglas covered. Kid bounded into the ring and made a three-count for White; Ramon mistakenly thought the ref was counting and broke the cover, then shoved Kid out of the ring. Razor was then rolled up by Douglas for the pin ⊠Ramon threw Kid into the ring again, and the two traded blows ⊠Kid and Ramon shook hands after their match the next night at Raw and agreed to end their feud ⊠It was wishful thinking ⊠Ramon and Kid teamed to wrestle WWF World tag champions The Smokinâ Gunns at In Your House IV ⊠They wrestled like rulebreakers and would have won had Ramon covered Billy Gunn after executing his âRazorâs Edgeâ ⊠Ramon and Kid split after Kid refereed Ramon and Sid Vicious match on October 23. He pulled Sid out of Ramonâs âRazor Edge,â then made a fast three-count on Ramon, accepted some cash from Ted DiBiase, and left the ring ⊠Took on DiBiase as his manager and is now a full-blown rulebreaker whoâs no longer the fanâs favorite underdog ⊠Look for him to team with Sid regularly in the near future.
TOUGHEST OPPONENT Owen Hart. They have met on several occasions, and Kid has yet to score a clean victory. The most heartbreaking defeat came at the 1994 King of the Ring tournament, when an injured Kid lost to Hart in the semifinals. Earlier in the night, he had been piledrived three times by Jeff Jarrett. Kid had several chances to win the exciting semifinal match, but he finally succumbed to a âsharpshooterâ at 3:36. MOST HATED OPPONENT Shawn Michaels. They've certainly had their differences over the years. Several years ago, Kid lost to Michaels on Monday Night Raw, and Michaels punctuated the win by twice power-bombing Kid. Razor Ramon came to his rescue. Though Kid is now a rulebreaker and Michaels a fan favorite, they still have their differences, probably because Michaels and The Kid are so alike. They have huge egos and use similar styles.Â
FAVORITE MOVE
Reverse spinning kick. Ask Kid to name his favorite move and heâll give you a long list. He has a lot of them in his repertoire. He loves climbing to the top rope and leaping at an opponent. But he seems to rely most upon a spinning kick that has incredible impact. Victims often wonder. How can a man so small execute a move that hurts so much and comes at you so quickly?
GREATEST MATCH
vs. Sabu, April 17,1993. The Kid had just made his first WWF appearance in the WWF, and he hadnât impressed many people with a loss to Louie Spicolli. But they should have seen his match against Sabu on an independent card in Minnesota. It was an aerial spectacle in which both men looked like they were trying to destroy each other. After a few minutes, Kid had been bloodied. He won by DQ. When the bout was over, he knew he was ready for the WWF

What do u think is going on with Camila liking Lauren and normaniâs posts on Instagram? I hope sheâs truly supporting them and itâs not management taking control of her socials đ© I know she has a single coming out soon and make up collection so I hope itâs not for publicity . Any thoughts?
I have a shit ton of these, so I'm just going to use this one to address the situation.................................
People seem to forget, EVERYTHING THAT IS PUT ON THEIR OFFICIAL ACCOUNTS IS MEANT TO BE SEEN FOR A REASON!!!
I'm going to be honest, it really pisses me off, that we finally get some interaction we have been waiting years for, and all some of you do is bitch about it. Is it used for promotional purposes? Hell yes, but it's not one sided like most claim.
More truth, Camila has more followers on one SM platform, than Lauren and Normani combined, on all of their platforms. She has Billions of streams. Not millions, BILLIONS. Trust me, this PUBLIC interaction is to help them all.
Camila and Normani have been publicly interacting since 2018. Technically, Lauren was the first to publicly mention Camila, in that Becky G podcast. That opened the door for eventual PUBLIC interaction between the two. That's what's happening.
Is this all to benefit Camila? Yes! It is also for the benefit of Normani and Lauren. The purpose is for those that follow Camila to go check out Normani and Lauren. Camila has a lot of fans who didn't even know she was in 5H. They could give a shit less about a stupid "feud" narrative. They'll just see that she liked something they did, and hopefully go check them out, and vice versa.
It's done by every artist. They like, or post about other artists projects, to get their fans to go check it out, and to hopefully, for the lesser known artists, to get that artists' fans to check them out. That's the purpose for ALL artists showing PUBLIC support to other artists, on their official SM accounts. They want people to see it, and interact with it.
I'm more interested in the timing of how the interaction has been between Lauren and Camila. We had Lauren talking about Camila, by name, the end of October 2020. We might not have liked the official message, but it was for a reason.
The end of November, the angry boy released his documentary, saying that everything was all about Camila. Then he released his album in early December. Lauren started PUBLICLY interacting, through likes, with him after that.
Then we finally got some promo, a release date, and teaser trailer for Cinderella. That's when we got Camila first liking one of Lauren's pictures. Then we got Lauren's release for the project all about women, uplifting women, and supporting women.
Then we got the unrest in Cuba, for which both girls have a connection. They both post their support for the Cuban people. Then Camila likes and comments on Lauren's post, "!!!!!! Yes yes yes" Then she likes one of Lauren's posts about her song "While I'm Alive". All this happened right after it was announced that Camila would have a single released on 7-23, that is supposed to have a Latin vibe.
So, why is Camila releasing a single with a Latin vibe, RIGHT NOW? Easy! They are doing a hard marketing campaign to the Latin community right now. Why? because on September 3, Camila is going to be the first Latina Cinderella. (The angry boy is just trying to cash in on the situation, with his remix with Camilo)
Camila liking and commenting on Lauren's posts, allow for Lauren to most likely post, or comment about Camila's single (maybe) but I'm betting on the movie. Lauren is a Latina woman. It would be weird if she didn't mention something about the first Latina Cinderella Princess...Especially since it's supposed to have a message about empowering women.
I suspect, around the second, third week of August we will probably be getting the official trailer for Cinderella. We should also be getting the first official single from the movie soundtrack around the same time. The teaser had Camila's "A Million to One". I suspect that will be the first single from the soundtrack.
Speaking of the soundtrack, I still have hope that there will be a Camila/Lauren collab, or a Lauren song, maybe produced by Neon 16, on the soundtrack. Could be wishful thinking, but I'm still hopeful. It is being released and distributed through Columbia, so there should be a few Columbia artists on it. Lauren would fit that bill nicely, don't you think? That could explain why "Camila" is suddenly doing all this PUBLIC interaction with Lauren. Who knows, I could be completely wrong, but I'm still hopeful!!!!!!

Rumors Related SWIFTGRON
The ladies and girl before SWIFTGRON happened it seems just like fun girl that maybe an emotional attraction that Taylor has not act on it physically before Dianna. Many lesbian/bi-women have crush with women that they never act on it. I had a crush with a girl in 7th grade, she was in 9th grade, and I never act on it. Because I do not understand my sexuality before I reach early 20âČs. This might apply to Taylor Swift. Dianna could be the first person Taylor has been physically acted on it. We have The Very First Night songs, that literally could be their first physically together.
So, I compile the theory from Reddit and L Chat that based on random data. The theory was based on timeline.
SWIFTGRON timeline in general:
2010 - Taylor and Dianna are introduced through mutual friends.
2011 - Taylor and Dianna start their âfriendshipâ in earnest. Some think it happened way earlier than September, especially if Taylor was on the prowl
Early 2012 - Their managers/agents hatched the ridiculous âfeudâ narrative that went viral, only for them to shut it down with their movie date.
Adding some details about 2012 Autumn Swiftgron, per a mutual:
âSeptember 28 Dianna arrived in Paris with her two gay besties. Taylor was supposed to arrive as well but is delayed. Naya Rivera flys to Paris and spends the weekend with Dianna who is disappointed.
Naya leaves and Taylor  arrives October 1 and they have their week in Paris. Theyâre only seen out on the Wednesday evening having dinner but no photo was taken.
They spend their time together away in a hotel room when Taylor is not filming the MV for the song of their love story beginning- begin again. (The director chose to deviate from the lyrics and focus on it seeing you as a couple getting back together. The actual song begin again itâs about Taylor emoji story of Love begins again and you with someone.)
Shortly after this time Taylor arrives back in LA and immediately enters the studio on October 17 to record This Love about the time in Paris and the days that followed.
Dianna and Taylor are inseparable at this point.â
Late 2012 - Theyre fine, but making Taylorâs teams nervous, despite Dianna having âboyfriendsâ during their friendship.
I donât think it was âcheatingâ, but Taylor may have felt that way, since it also sounds like they didnât have proper boundaries when they first started doing whatever.  Not to mention they probably had outside forces not wanting them to be together, who probably fed them misinfo (ââŠsheâll just hurt youâŠâ, ââŠyouâre just another girl to herâŠâ, ââŠshe was still messing with her ex when you got togetherâŠâ, etc etc).
Regarding Taylor and Dianna on-off relationship was based on
1.) Taylors LyricsÂ
2.) Taylors comments in interviewsÂ
3.) Taylor and Dianna using coded language, and Taylor and Dianna's use of social media to communicate to each other when they're not together. Â Allegedly.
The HOW YOU GET THE GIRL & CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS corroborated the rumors of allegedly Dianna proposed Taylor to save their relationship. Although in contrary, it throws their relationship to the cliff of separation.
Rumors are that Taylorâs team broke them up, due to worries about Taylorâs career. Â There are other rumors that Dianna proposed to Taylor, and Taylorâs team freaked out, either because:
1.) Taylor initially accepted;
2.) Taylor wanted to but consulted her parents, team and label, they said no;
3.) Taylorâs Rhode Island house shopping and purchase was for her and Dianna, the proposal got back to her team (or something similarly serious), and they ended it.
This would be in April 2013, after the Glee tweet (damn you, Ryan!), and the fake article going viral that outed them before Diannaâs birthday, where Taylor had an extended break despite the Red tour just starting. Â
THE TAKE ON ALL RUMOURS
External circumstances, I believe, were to blame for the breakup. Taylor was under constant pressure, and she always, and I mean, chose her career. Dianna's post on her tumbler the day that was rumored they have broken up, with the #lost love " I will always care for you even if we were not together and even were far, far away from each other" The line of the getaway car "We were jet set, Bonnie and Clyde, until I switched sides, its no surprise that I turned you in, coz US traitors never win" (because Taylor chose her career) but she is crying and dying in the getaway car because her heart was broken by her choice) and that on her rep tour poem "why I disappear," she is dreaming of having a time machine and she goes back to the getaway car because she wants to undo things that happened in the getaway car song.
She always chose Scott and trusted him from the beginning because she raised Scott to look up to her as a daughter he never had, but then the master heist happened, and as she crashed, the winds snatched away her fair weather pals.. so who is the guy standing by her with broad shoulder? When she lost her label, who was with her when she was on vacation? and when she was canceled by everyone in 2016?
Regarding 'tis the damn season,' I believe it is from Dianna's point of view (She is still committed at the moment), and Dorothea is Taylor singing to the narrator of tis the damn season.
When people say Dianna cheated because we don't have any proof of it. I just believe it was extremely difficult on both of them. When you're around that age, I believe you also begin your first "adult" relationship, which is unlike any other relationship you've ever had. So having that weight plus the outside pressures is a lot.

TL;DR: Clawd Wolfâs Journal (2010)
Sorry I havenât posted in past few days, Iâve been packing so I can move- and Iâve been ordering more Monster High Diaries to recap on here!
Clawdâs Journal can summarized as-
September the 18th- Clawd gets tackled by a goblin who stinks like shit he explains a lot of football related stuff but I have negative knowledge about sports so I donât wanna say something happened when it didnât- but his team won and he was like âLol get rektâ to the goblin. He complains about stinking like the goblin for the rest of the journal.
September the 21st- Rockseena (Clawdâs gargoyle bulldog) chewed up Clawdeenâs shoes and he pays her back. Though this just raises the Goofy-Pluto issue with there being gargoyles like Rochelle, then pet gargoyles like her pet and Rockseena.
October the 1st- Clawd sheds a shit ton so he goes to a specialized doctor for fur (which love the world-building btw) and heâs like âNothing I can do, at least youâre not bald!â And just recommends a group therapy full of werewolves suffering from fur loss.
October the 7th- Spectra starts stirring up old shit by telling everyone in school about Cleo and Clawdâs past relationship. Clawd calls her out on her bullshit and then she starts crying and bitching to everyone in school, trying to get everyone on her side. They go to the Headmistress and just like every principal ever is just like âHey person who started this- stop. Also the person who didnât start it and is the victim is now guilty for some bullshit reason.â Spectra seems like the type to start shit for no reason and bitch to everyone about problems she started tbh. Who starts gossiping and then calls the victim a âdumb jockâ for telling you to stfu?
October the 12th- Headmistress Bloodgood makes the whole school do this project on their family lineage so they can put them all in a book and pass it out to students. The Wolfâs lineage apparently is all in this book called the Valde Lupus Libri but there are parts Clawd isnât allowed to read until he has his own pack. The secret to the feud between vampires and werewolves in this universe is also in there.
October the 18th- Clawdeen starts going after Cleo because she thinks she broke Clawdâs heart when they broke up which leads to the most serious moment in all of the diaries to this point- Clawd explains what happened between him and Cleo. Basically they were just dating because they liked the attention that came from the head fearleader and the MVM (Most Valuable Monster) on the football were dating. They never really had a spark but were (and still are) friends. They stayed together to avoid the drama and were too busy to deal with the stress. Eventually they both decided to break it off when Deuce and Cleo started getting more chemistry. Cleo tells everyone that she broke up with Clawd so she wouldnât be the head fearleader that got rejected. They both regret the relationship and their choices around it, and if you want a slightly more serious and mature moment in the MH franchise I would definitely suggest reading the full thing.
October the 25th- Clawd is out for a drive after coming from the library and picks up Draculaura from the rain. (Much more romantic and cute than I put it here)
I really like how much the writing has progressed over these diaries. When I first read Cleoâs and Deuceâs diaries I thought they would be too bland and everything would feel like it wasnât written by an actual person. Though now I think theyâve found some footing and know at least how to make the diaries engaging and realistic. Not saying we need complete drama and seriousness from Monster High but a sprinkling every entry or so really feels like a treat for those who want to learn more about the lore and characters :)
If I had to pick a favorite diary to read so far, Clawd is definitely at the top of my list! Stay tuned for my read-through of Holt Hydeâs Journal! ;)
Also hereâs an extra image I couldnât include in the read-through, Clawdâs love for little Rockseena is adorable

âArbor Squareâ is a goofy & introspective adult animated comedy series created by Eli Murphy and Stevie Maxwell. It follows Quinn and Jonathan, a pair of incompetent roommates-turned-baristas trying to make lives for themselves in the quirky titular borough of Arbor Square.
Quinn is a non-binary wild card who spends their free time getting up to (semi-legal) shenanigans!
Jonathan is a neurotic but soft-hearted lover boy who is often the only thing standing between Quinn and a prison sentence!
Their boss Cassian does his best to maintain order and drive up profits for Arbor Square Coffee & Kombucha, but heâs locked in a bitter and potentially steamy feud with Jessica, the manager of the Skybears coffee chain across the street!
Glenn, an eccentric hippie from a bygone era, is the cafeâs number one patron and rounds out the main cast!
Together this odd group will discover what it means to be neighbors in the age of wage work and late-stage capitalism >:)

Wrestling With Characters - The AEW Womenâs Division

All Elite Wrestling came to our screens officially on May 25th 2019, with TV starting October 2nd of the same year. Ever since the origins of AEW, their womenâs division has been a hot topic with fans as the mix of incredibly talented performers and unique looks, from the likes of Kris Statlander and Abadon have caught the eyes of many viewers. The amount of talent that the AEW womenâs roster holds is immeasurable, with the likes of Hikaru Shida and Serena Deeb, who have both been in wrestling for well over 10 years at this point, have shown their ability and experience with their past two bouts (which took place on the 06/10/21 and 27/10/21 episodes of Dynamite). Those specific bouts being given a lot of love by the internet wrestling community, and even sparking more conversations about the handling of the womenâs division in AEW as people are clamouring for more.

However, despite this outpour of love from fans to the women of AEW it feels as though there is a shared sentiment that something is missing. Whether you think it is the scarcity of womenâs matches on the programming, the lack of promo time for women, or the overall disregard for characters in the division, there is a general consensus that the AEW womenâs division could be handled a lot better than it is currently being handled.
When it comes to character work in AEW, we are getting some of the best storytelling that professional wrestling, especially on television, has had to offer for a long time. Whether it be Hangmanâs rise to champion, MJF being a polarising old school heel, or the undeniable passion of Eddie Kingston, it is clear that characters are central to AEW programming. However, when discussing the AEW Womenâs division, the character that stands out is Dr Britt Baker DMD, her outstanding character work whilst injured during 2020 put a spotlight on her and began her true rise in popularity and success within the company.

Britt is a heel who is nonetheless adored by fans, her cocky and passionate deliverance of promos keeps the audience engaged and tells them the story of who Dr Britt Baker DMD is within the world of wrestling. However, AEW struggle to find the right stories and competitors to elevate both the champion herself and her opponents. Brittâs feuds with the likes of Kris Statlander, and most recently Tay Conti, have been lacking when it comes to storytelling and character work.
However, reasons for the matches make sense from a sporting perspective, it seems as though once AEW find themselves coming up to a PPV, see All Out 2021 and Full Gear 2021 as examples, they take the number 1 ranked member of the division, make her Brittâs opponent, but then donât add much to elevate said opponent. There isnât much to make the crowd grow fond of them, so they find Britt being cheered throughout her matches despite her heelish antics, which is understandable as she is a great performer, however the aim of these feuds should be to establish these babyface characters that the crowd can get behind, whilst also presenting the champion as dominant. That way you are establishing new stars within the division whilst establishing the championship as a major achievement within professional wrestling. In Tay Contiâs case the 3v3 match before Full Gear gave her some fire and was a good way to further the feud, but the feud itself started with the women comparing how they look, which left a lot of fans confused as this was nothing like the stories seen in the mens championship picture with Kenny and Hangman, and it didnât have that championship feud feel.

During Brittâs feud with Ruby Soho they were given an in ring promo segment, which is surprisingly rare for the AEW womenâs division, proven by the fact there hasnât been a segment like this in the division since it happened on the September 17th episode of Rampage, which is now over 2 months ago. That segment had people booing Britt because they saw Ruby as a fighter, as someone who as come up short before and is getting an opportunity to prove how good she truly is. Now that segment isnât without any faults, with some arguing the line referring to Adam Cole was unnecessary, but the segment as a whole elevated Ruby to be a credible challenger for Britt, something which has been lacking in many of her feuds during her reign as AEW Womenâs Champion.
The work that the women in AEW have put into what they have accomplished however is admirable. These women may not be given the time fans call for, but with what they are given they try and make each other shine, that is especially true in regards to the current TBS Championship Tournament. The matches for the tournament are being given time and promo packages for upcoming matches such as Kris Statlander vs Ruby Soho have been a hit with fans, but that doesnât mean that fans are content with only one womenâs match per show. When discussing the TBS Title Tournament, women such as Jade Cargill are getting better each show, and Jade with the accompaniment of âSmartâ Mark Sterling has been a welcomed addition to the division as a whole, as Jade is an incredibly unique performer with a well protected win-loss record.

In 2021, there should not be one token womenâs match per show, these women should be given time to connect with the audience whether heel or face.
In the same way Eddie Kingston can come out with a microphone and give fans a myriad of reasons to route for him, women like Thunder Rosa should be given time with a microphone, in the ring across from an opponent not just a 20 second backstage promo, to create a connection with fans beyond how highly skilled a talent she is, especially if she is the one who is going to eventually take the championship from Britt.
In the same way that Hangman had an elaborate fall and eventual rise to champion in a moment fans had been waiting years for, women like Anna Jay and Tay Conti who are young and full of heart deserve to have characters that are deeper than just being friends. We see glimpses of this in video packages, road to videos, and backstage promos, but it feels as though these women arenât given the platform to let their characters shine, which in turn creates a wall between them and the audience and explains the sometimes lesser crowd reactions that these women donât deserve as it is simply not their faults.

AEW have a vast womenâs roster filled with unique talent, both experienced and new to the game entirely, but when you tune into Dynamite or Rampage you are seeing countless menâs storylines and a shockingly few amount for the women. If you think of the past few episodes of Dynamite the proportion of mens to womenâs stories is quite shocking. If we take the menâs stories from this past dynamite, there was around 9 different mens stories furthered on the show vs 4, and that is being generous, womenâs stories being furthered. The 4 consisting of a very short backstage promo from Tay Conti, a backstage promo from Britt Baker, a match for the TBS Title tournament, and a short package for the Cargill vs Velvet match which happened on the Rampage of the same week.

AEW undoubtedly produce a highly rated and recommended product each week, with many fans agreeing that Dynamite is consistently the best wrestling show each week. We see that AEW have the ability to create these captivation nuanced stories that grab the attention of hundreds of thousands of people each week, so why not apply the formula to the womenâs division.
Wrestling is not just about fascinating in-ring action, which the AEW womenâs division does not lack anyway, but also the stories that you can tell through both violence and giving people time to present their characters and allow the audience to connect. If something doesnât connect that doesnât mean the end of the world, it just means you dust yourself off and try something new, exactly like they did with Miro.
At the end of the day, you canât deny the talent of the AEW Womenâs division, but it is clear that fans want more and that the members of the roster deserve a chance to present more of their characters. So, in time we will see how the womenâs division progresses, especially due to the addition of the TBS Title, and we will see if AEW listen to the cry for more womenâs wrestling on their shows. Fans will see if a chance is given for these incredibly talented women to show that they are stars in an industry which has revolved around men for far too long.

September 28 1396 saw the âBattle of the Clansâ between clans Chattan and Kay on the North Inch, Perth, in front of King Robert III.
One of my favourite pieces of Scottish history, maybe all wars/battles should be resolved this way!Â
This is also known as the Battle of the North Inch and it was a staged battle, one witness called it âA selcouth thingâ (an amazing thing) and it certainly sounds like it having attracted the attention of King Robert III. A makeshift arena was made and thirty warriors of the Chattans and Camerons, although some versions say the âKaysâ were the involved. The date has also been questioned, Sir Walter Scott, in his âFair Maid of Perth,â says the day of the battle was Palm Sunday. One historian, however, fixes the day as October 23, and another gives September 28. Alexander Mackintosh Shaw, in his privately printed âClan Battle at Perth,â affirms that the day was not Palm Sunday, but âa Monday morning about the end of September, 1396â So I am going for the 28th it seems to be quoted as this more than any other date, Iâm also dismissing the Kays as it is recorded the Camerons were enemies of The Chattan Confederation as they were know. Â Chattan Confederation? I hear you ask, well the confederation comprised of Mackintoshes, Macphersons, Davidsons, Macgillivrays and Macbeans.â Marshallâs âHistory of Perthâ tells us that: âIt is generally admitted that the Clan Chattan were the Mackintoshes
The King was asked to intercede in the dispute between the two clans but was unable to help so it has been said that it was he who arranged this âduelâ Barriers were erected on three sides of the North Inch to keep off spectators, the River Tay forming the fourth side. The Gilded Arbour summerhouse of the Dominican Monastery, which overlooked the Inch, was adapted as a grandstand for the King and his court.
Exchequer accounts for the year contained this entry: âFor timber, iron and making lists for 60 persons fighting on the Inch at Perth, ÂŁ14 : 2s. :10id.â, isnât it amazing some details can be so precise, while others vague!?.
The â60 personsâ were 30 from each side, there is an account from the time written by a chronicler, Andrew Wyntoun who was Prior of the St. Serf monastery at nearby Loch Leven, he used the term I love  âthree score wyld Scottis men,â on two sides of thirty each, in pursuit of an old feud.
Though fictional I like Sir Walter Scottâs account of the battle, it succeeds in capturing some of the noise and fury that must have surrounded the clash. âThe trumpets of the king sounded a charge, the bagpipes blew up their screaming and maddening notes, and the combatants, starting forward in regular order, and increasing their pace till they came to a smart run, met together in the centre of the ground, as a furious torrent encounters an advancing tide. For an instant or two the front lines, hewing at each other with their long swords, seemed engaged in a succession of single combats; but the second and third ranks soon came up on either side, actuated alike by the eagerness of hatred and the thirst of honour, pressed through the intervals, and rendered the scene a tumultuous chaos, over which the huge swords rose and sunk, some still glittering, others streaming with blood, appearing, from the wild rapidity with which they were swayed, rather to be put in motion by some complicated machinery, than to be wielded by human hands."
Again there are differing accounts of the outcome, one says Chattan were victors slaying all their foes and 9 of their own warriors surviving, another claims 7 men survived the contest, five on one side and two on the other. Of these two, one managed to cross the River Tay, while the other was either pardoned or hung. Wikipedia, where I normally start my searches states 11 to 1 was the "resultâ , you can see the difficulty I have putting these type of posts together! Â The chief of the Chattans that day is said to be buried in St Tuchaldus Church, Rothiemurchus. The âill feelingâ between the two âclansâ was said to have lasted into the 19th century.
The second pic shows ârelics of the MacKintosh of MacKintosh of Moy Hillâ and in the middle an alleged Claymore used at the Battle of the North Inch, among some other interesting exhibits.Â
