still thinking about the Jack Delano photograph I reblogged yesterday that described it as a “medium format negative.” At first I was like oh I’m being a little petty by quibbling with that but no, actually. Because there’s no chance that’s a scan from the original negative. It’s gotta be a scan of a print, and it might not even be a print from the original negative. If you’re gonna attribute the medium, be specific but also be accurately specific; the negative probably looks nothing like the print
