sudden lore drop for again &. again, i don't care because everything's falling into pieces, but i think it's funny how most crime lords, or even the rogues in gotham — especially those associated with bruce wayne or batman — might actually be the reader's godparents due to how infamous their mother is amongst the underground.

i'm saying she's not exactly revered by the masses, especially those whose plans she's foiled in the past, but she was damn good at her old business, at what she's done, for survival was primal instinct from way before she had you, way before she had retired when she discovered her pregnancy— and her feats in the cruel play of gotham's crime alone were what earned her the right to be respected by most.

so point being? if alfred was at least five minutes late on picking you up from that damn police station, then your life would've taken a vastly different turn and you could've been your mother 2.0. or even cause some criminal war just because you're being fought for to be trained to be a sidekick or a mentor for batman's villains; and i think about that all the time.

i think about what it would be like if you were chosen (kidnapped before the police could even gain sight of her) by selina to be the successor for her mantle, or how you're more connected to the falcones than you could ever imagine, or how the court of owls have always been closely watching in the first place, or how even someone like ra's al ghul has been keeping a keen eye on you the moment he's learned of your mother's pregnancy.

even the joker knows a thing or two about your past, and he's contemplated sending harley to take you away from school from when you were just a kid far more times than he could even imagine.

and they're not exactly good people, far from it, way beyond the scale of bad, but they've all made a sworn truce when it came to you right before you came to be; whether that'd be for your sake, or your downfall.

now that, we don't know.

A and B hanging out with a group of their friends, after having just gone out together, now back at someone's house eating a meal, playing some games, having fun~

the only problem is, the place they've just been really sets off B's allergies, which A knows, along with the fact B refuses to sneeze in front of people (whether for kink!reasons, or other ones)

glancing over at B, A can see how itchy they look, their hands keep touching their face, pinching or rubbing their nose, trying to sniffle as discreetly as possible

knowing they're too polite/shy to just get up and leave, A stands from where they were lounging, grabs B by the arm, and tosses some excuse over at the group, who for the most part doesn't even notice

dragging B into a bedroom/bathroom, A closes the door behind them, smiling fondly to themself as B immediately ducks down with a "nGt!- nXGt!- dXGt!-"

"let them out, love" A offers gently, grabbing up some tissues and handing them over, "you've gotta get it all done before we go back out there"

"thagk you-" B manages, with a relieved glance at A, before ducking into the tissues with a vocal, "ekt'chhh-oo!", starting to work their way through the allergy attack they'd been postponing for so long

with, of course, A offering blessings and rubbing their back through it all~

a summer cold that comes on so slowly over the course of the day that they barely even notice they're getting sick. they wake up with a scratchy throat and raspy voice, but they probably just need to clean the AC filters. by lunchtime they're starting to sneeze which is weird, they didn't think the pollen count was supposed to be so high today. towards the end of the day they're feeling hot and sluggish, but it's 90 degrees and humid as hell so how else were they expecting to feel?

it's not until they get home and their partner hits them with something like "Oh honey, you don't look so good. Are you you feeling ok?" that they realize just how sick they are 🫠

i also think he'd look so beautiful sitting behind a piano 🥺 as a husband jinwoo enjoyer, I always picture him playing piano in the living room on a sunday morning. like after he took a shower, with his hair still damp, maybe pushed back, he walked into the living room and he saw you cooking in the kitchen and he gave you a hug from behind, kissing your neck, "Need any help, Angel?" and you shook your head no, smiling as you told him to relax and wait, "Breakfast will be ready soon."

and he went, "Okay, I'll keep you company." and he walked toward the piano, and sat there and he started playing with this gentle smile written on his lips. he shut his eyes closed, maybe even humming a little bit as he played. he was performing your favorite song that he learned in secret to impress you, his mind recalling the day he slow danced with you on the night he asked you to marry him. a lock of his hair fell over his eyes as he lost himself in the song, and he looked so, so pretty in his white button-down shirt, maybe even angelic.

his little daughter, maybe 4 or 5 year old, walked out from her bedroom, rubbing her eyes from sleep. and jinwoo smiled. "Sorry, honey, did I wake you?" and she nodded and he stopped a little bit just so she could crawl up to his lap. he kissed the top of her head, chuckling at her tousled hair. "Do you know this song, baby?"

she shook her head no.

"This is your mommy's favorite song. the reason why she married me is because i played this song when i proposed to her."

"I married you because you're rich," you joked, replying from the kitchen.

"Don't listen to that, Sweetheart. Mommy's shy because daddy knows everything about her. what she likes, what she doesn't like. what she really, really likes."

"Can you not say that in front of our daughter, please?"

Jinwoo chuckles. "Hey, Kiddo. What if we play your favorite song next?"

"Okay..."

"What do you have in mind?" he asked, his face soft, genuinely curious. when she told him what it was, he kissed her forehead, delighted. "Wanna play it together? Daddy will take this side, and you can take that one. On three, okay? One... Two... Three..."

and they started playing together, with both of them smiling, giggling when they missed a note or two. and you watched them from behind, feeling thankful that that was the scenery you got to see everyday.

Can I just say that I absolutely LOVE how ever since they all found out that MC is human and was brought here against their will, it was Lucifer who kept insisting that they shouldn't be the ones to trap MC in the Devildom. That whether they want to stay or not is a decision MC has to make themself and that the brothers should support them no matter what they end up choosing

And now that the moment is finally here, now that MC has confirmed that they indeed plan on heading home, and now that all of his brothers agreed on helping them get back, having forged a pact and lending their powers to do so—

Now that he knows that he's the final piece needed to send them back; that the lingering idea of the yet to be forged pact between them is what's stopping MC from potentially leaving their side for good, leaving his side for good—

Now that they have finally gotten to this point, he realizes something. And he's unable to live with it

And so, he goes back on his word.

He's taking that choice from them.
