alec rarely put himself in these sorts of situations. that being, dates. it wasn't for any reason other than the fact that he wasn't in one place for very long. he traveled for work and went where he was needed. regardless of that, when he ran into percy while on his way home after a shift at the hospital, he couldn't help but take interest in the other and he found himself asking him out. to which, he was thankful that the other agreed.

that's how the two of them ended up at dinner together. they were seated outside, which ultimately gave them a little more privacy, and alec was thankful for that. "you know," he started, "i've really had a good time with you tonight." of course he hoped that the other was enjoying his time too. "and this restaurant's good too. you have good taste. i'm always up for trying new places and i think this could be one of my favorites so far." he added with a smile stretched over his face. "so, nala," he began to joke, "do you think i could take this guy out again?" he asked the service animal.

alec held back a sigh of relief as the other mentioned that he, too, was having a good time. the thing about alec is that he probably cared a little too much and so, of course he'd want to hear that percy was enjoying his time with him too.

"oh, for sure. it's definitely a place i'll come back to. i can't see myself skipping out on it if it's ever offered, you know what i mean?" not only was the food great but so was the service and he was actually thankful that they didn't give his date a hard time about his service animal. that was something he wouldn't have stood for.

luckily, that's nothing they had to worry about though.

smiling at the animal's reaction to him, he let out his own laugh and nodded his head. "that's what it sounds like to me. you know, i've heard dogs are really good at reading people. nala must like me." @thekingswench

Had you told Percy that he'd be walking the regular crew, plus Nala, and he'd be asked out on a date by a really cute traveling nurse, he'd have looked at you like you were crazy. That didn't happen to him.

( He also, admittedly, hadn't gone on a date with many men so - there was that, too ).

Well, not anymore.

Alec was sweet, and he was funny, and he didn't look at him or Nala any which way, which was to be honest? Really refreshing. The date venue had been his idea, since he was from the city, but he was glad to know that Alec liked the place.

"Me too," Percy says, and means it, a grin softening the features of his face. "And I'm glad you liked it. The staff here are great, some of my favorite food. Just...a really nice atmosphere, yah know?"

Stretching his good leg out, the other tucked under the table where his prosthetic wouldn't get in the way of anyone walking, Nala perks her head and her ears up when she's addressed, head cocking to the side and tail thumping against the floor.

A little laugh escapes when she looks to him, then back to Alec.

"I'd say that's a yes."
