The Master wad, admittedly, still adjusting to the new-old body. The Rory-body. And if there was one person- one specific Doctor, even- that he did not want to explain the Rory-situation to… He was staring right at him. Because the Master almost answered to that bloody name, even. Rory, Rory, Rory…
He was staring at him dumbly, even, with his mouth open a little and eyes wide. “… Sorry. Wrong guy.” Try as he might, avoiding the Doctor was never his strong suit…
He glances behind himself- trying to see if his TARDIS was close enough to run off to. It wasn’t. He looks back at the Doctor awkwardly.
“… Would you believe all of this is a really funny accident? Orr…” he starts, chuckling weakly, even if it doesn’t land. He sighs, and changes direction. “… Oh, come on, wipe that look off your face. You know who I am. Don’t act like you didn’t miss me a little.” Because he had to know who he was, right?

When he wakes up, he does, in fact, feel better. Not amazing, but better. It's almost like accepting help is, in fact, good for you. He hears his murmuring as he speaks against him. Even with everything attached to him, it's easier for the Master to move now.
So he slowly sits up in front of him, brow knit as he sees the Doctor. He frowns, and reaches a hand out, cupping his cheek.
"Doctor," he starts, voice quiet, thumb running along his cheekbone, "Doctor, it's okay. Do you hear? It's fine. I'm here." Not that he thought he was much of a comfort, but he'd been wrong about that before.
bet @eclecticshenanigans
The Master hadn't been on the TARDIS long- maybe a week, or so- before leaving in his TARDIS. Not for long! He told the Doctor it wouldn't be long- a few hours max. He said it was to clear his head, he didn't say it was because he was starting to spiral. For once, though, he was trying not to self-destruct about it. Instead, though...
He was gone for three days. Maybe- the Master doesn't know himself. He comes stumbling out of his TARDIS, and into the Doctor's, eyes bleary and head foggy. There's mostly-dry blood on his face, and some bruising showing underneath shirt. He sways, and falls backwards against his TARDIS. Eyes squint, trying to focus on the shape of the Doctor in front of him while he was breathing heavy.
"Honeyy 'm homeee..."

"I know. It's real. I can't believe it, either." Koschei was still grinning, wriggling a little out of his grasp. "I know this place. You leave it to me." He's quick to start leading them out, weaving through the crowd like he used to dozens of time before- back then he never expected to be doing this with the Doctor, though. They get out- the Master says goodnight to the bouncer- and he's practically dragging them back to the TARDIS.
"You-" They're briefly out in the night now, finding the alley they came down. Now that they're alone, lips are finding the Doctor's throat again. "- Are so, so-" He pushes them both against the TARDIS, struggling with the pull door. It didn't help that he wasn't actually paying attention to where they were going now... "- So cute... Always have been, even when I was busy torturing you... So fuckin' cute, Theta..."

He's grinning, laughing when he feels the hand at his waist tighten. "I know." He says, all smug, even if he's quietly reeling to himself. A hand goes to his chest as he's pulled even closer, and Koschei's kissing the spot that got him such a good reaction again.
"I'm not dying an' I'm not going away on you, Theta..." the Master says in response to the tight grip on him. Not that he'd given the Doctor good reason to believe that in the recent past. He hums, looking for an excuse... "... Think we should go back to the TARDIS? In case me from the past shows up? Not that I don't like sneak previews, but I'd hate for him to get any ideas of stealing you when I just found you for myself..."

It felt so much different, than when he kissed Twelve. So much less bitter, or maybe that was just memory. He was holding the Doctor tight, stumbling a little into bodies behind them, but that was okay- and largely unnoticed. Because Koschei was smiling back at him. He was going to make a joke, to deflect from the sincerity of it all... But then he's calling him sweetheart, and he loses his clever quip with a blush, and melts into the kiss. The Doctor was kissing him- and neither of them were fighting- and even though part of his reason for coming here was for something like this- it still didn't feel real. He's laughing into his mouth, kissing him back just as hard, forgetting that they were in public...
"Hmm, you're not that bad at dancing..." he says, voice low as he leans into his ear, kissing just below it. He grins, as he sways a little in his hold. "Did I pick a good first trip?"

It's like it took the Master a moment to process, and it did. It took him a moment to catch up to the situation, that it was real. One hand moves to take the Doctor's cheek while he's kissing him back. So familiar and so new, all at once. How long had he been waiting for this, and how much longer had he been avoiding it?
The Master doesn't pull away- if anything, he's trying to get even closer, trying to devour as much as he could while lips move against the other's. Like he'd never get this again. But he would.
When he finally parts, he's still clutching his face, lips barely apart from Theta's, pupils dark and wide. He laughs. "... Do it again?"

"Mm. I hated them for so long that it took a while to get over it, especially while I was stuck with them." They always made him think of the Doctor. "I remember when we were kids and you'd tell me allll about humans. Reminds me of then, now. Sneaking out of the Academy to go dancing..."
The Master is staring at the Doctor's lips while he's talking. Saying he missed him. And- And. He takes a breath- "- I- I..." and stops from just closing the gap himself, even if he wanted to, very badly, because he wanted the Doctor to kiss him more. His other arm drapes round his shoulders, too. "... Kiss me."

The Master shrugs- he's not wrong, is the thing. Maybe it's just because he knew how to act here, now. "Rory did a number on me. So did living on Earth for so long. It all feels more... Human. In a way. Sometimes I don't like it. But now it's fine. I learned to make it work for me. Like my old hypnosis but less demanding and more pretty... You are unusually quiet, for yourself."
So he takes another drink, and pulls them both further to the dance floor. One of his arms swings around the Doctor's shoulders.
"... I didn't really think I'd ever see you again, while I was in this regeneration..." He says while they're forced to get even closer. "... I missed you."

He doesn't quite notice at first, because the Master is too busy being smug about getting his way. And then he makes a little surprised noise as the Doctor's arm goes around him. Ohh. That caught Kosch's attention.
"- I can kind of remember that about you. I remember the wine. Still, I like to offer..." Koschei is using that arm around his waist to guide them as he walks. The music is loud and the lights are low, bouncing off of the smoke that occasionally billows away from the crowded dance floor. "It's great, right?" He grins as they look around. "You can barely hear yourself think in here, I loved it!"
And then he's turning to the bartender, leaning on the bar, chin in one hand. "Bruce, do I haave to pay if all I'm getting is a ginger beer?" He asks, that same lilt to his voice. "Or can I just get ya next time?" And he's met with his ginger beer, and no tab, and he's beaming. "You're the best."
"You've said." And then he nods his head towards the Doctor. "Anything for your friend?" Kosch's hand goes to the Doctor's chest, and he grins. "We're sharing. And-" he takes a big swig of the ginger beer, before looking up at Theta. "- And we're dancing. Let's go."

The Master was still smiling, and still admiring the look on the Doctor's face. He'd have to do this more often- getting him flustered was proving to be entertaining. The blush, the look on his face, the bit of stammering... It all got him a little smug. He hums to himself, getting closer, to boldly adjust the Doctor's bowtie himself. He didn't look at him, though, lest his own face go red too.
"Oh, believe me, I remember the Ponds' wedding. I still want to go dancing." His face screws up in thought. "Hmm. New York City. 1988. I want a club and I want dancing." He pats the Doctor's chest, before prying himself away from his personal space. "It's a date. Now you bring me there."

They had each other and the Master isn't sure he'll ever be over that. For a moment he can't believe that he ever considered properly leaving, just because he got nervous. The Doctor's affection and words wash over him, and he curls in even closer. If he could sleep in the other man's ribcage he probably would, it was a pressing need, to be as close as physically possible... And maybe telepathically, too, soon, Koschei thought. "I got you..." he repeats back, sleepy and muffled. And then, soon, he's snoring against Theta's chest.
His sleep is relatively dreamless. It isn't until what was relative-morning that he whimpers and yelps awake. His free arm is still wrapped tight around the Doctor, and when he wakes up, realizes where he is... He squeezes him a little tighter.
Oh, everything is catching up with him today. How sore he was, without adrenaline and painkillers and fog...
"... Theta?" He says it softly in case he isn't awake, and doesn't move to look at him to check for the same reason. He'd rather like to stay here forever, were he not incredibly sore.

"Okay, so when it's life or death, you can be quiet. Got it. Strategically, you can be sneaky. Somehow I think I knew that since we were kids."
The Master watches the blush creep across his features. He's still grinning, and his head tilts, practically preening with a little bounce to his heel. After all was said, he felt especially grateful, running into this Doctor again. He even recalled Rory staring a few times, though it was hard to say if that was his own influence or not... Either way, he was admiring the look on his face for far too long. "I am certainly not a first-time-flier, you are such a cheater..."
After a moment of deliberation, nodding his head back and forth in dramatic thought, he turns to face the Doctor. He raises an eyebrow. And his hand moves across the edge of the console, closer to the other Time Lord. He flashes another smile. "Take me out dancing?"

"And you like to cause a racket..." the Master says, and though it's sarcastic- he supposed it wasn't too far off, actually. He gives a hum, in response. The regeneration that turned the TARDIS into a paradox machine was far removed from him, he had to keep reminding himself it was closer to the Doctor and his TARDIS.
"It's my TARDIS, I'm just checking..." he says, as the Doctor points to where the monitor confirms- another TARDIS inside. Okay. He could rest easy if they went flying away. Which- speaking of...
The Master turns back around to face the Doctor, hands gripping either side of the console, leaning back as he flashes a big grin. "So. Here I am. Companion on your ship." He starts, tinge of sarcasm still in his voice. "Where are you taking me first?"

"You-" the Master laughs behind him, momentarily distracted. "- I have never, not once-" he leans in more, chin nearly resting on the Doctor's shoulder. "- seen you try for a smooth landing. Not as myself, not as Rory..."
"You are such a liar." He adds, voice still all teasing. He couldn't see the other's face from where he stood, but to be fair, he was blushing from where he was, too. The Master blinks, and finally lets go of the Doctor, as if catching up to the position he was in.
"... I'm gonna fix it when you aren't looking." He says, half-serious, because he couldn't help but push buttons. "Do you think she'd let me after last time?" The Master grins at the low growl the TARDIS gives off, and tries to push a monitor towards him to see for himself. Making himself at home. Nothing like overstepping a new welcome to cover up the fact that he was blushing. "Did it work? All set in the garage?"

Koschei hums in delight when his shirt comes off and presses into all of that warmth greedily. "I don't knowww. I'll think about it while I try to practice good behavior... Oooh, oh, gonna ride you as my reward... That's a good reward..." And as he says it, the hearts monitor speeds up again...
He doesn't even think about how it's probably the first time he's actually said those three words to the Doctor since they were young. "So much..." his hearts skip a beat and there's a beep to prove it. Then he's pulled in between the man's legs, and it's that much easier to try and just burrow into the Doctor's ribcage. It was getting harder to stave off that sleepy feeling. "We're both... Gonna be so good together, Thete... You and me. Just like we always said."

Once again the Master is staring at their hands, as if they'd somehow go away. This time, though, his hand slowly closes around the Doctor's, too. "... It was supposed to..." He admits, shifting where he was sat on the ground. "I just... I don't know. I thought you'd see how much it hurt. Being left behind. Because that's how it felt. And then it just kept getting worse. For both of us... So I couldn't stop." In short, at least. He had his reasons. The Doctor did too, he supposed.
He laughs, hollow and shaky. " — I don't think you'll be able to do that badly." He hoped. That would probably hurt. "Mostly because I don't think you'll be able to mix us up, really." The Master didn't think he had the ability to be anything like Rory, even if things were different. "... We should probably get up." He decides quietly. "I'd ask whose TARDIS we'd take but I think I know better... Should hook mine up to yours so I don't lose mine again..."
The Master is quiet, but he wipes his face and then he moves, offering the Doctor a hand up to his feet.
"... Whatever version of me exists in your head right now, I can't promise to be that. Better or worse. Just. Just setting expectations now."
