An irritated sigh escaped her lips as she rolled her eyes skywards, almost in disbelief of what she was hearing. "I don't care, Martins, I need it done by yesterday. I've given you more than enough time now, get it done." Her tone was sharp and final, and she swiftly ended the call, muttering angrily in Turkish as she glared at the stack of paperwork that littered the café table. Feeling a presence by her shoulder, Feyza forced a smile on her lips as she turned to face the other -- not wanting her stress to be taken out on anyone else. However, as she saw him, her face immediately fell. "Varun. Can I help you?" She asked, using the tone she usually saved for professional conversations, but after everything that had happened between them, the last thing Feyza needed was for things to become emotional right now.

Feyza stilled, her jaw clenching slightly as he spoke. "Varun," She spoke warningly, the smile on her lips giving off a warning vibe. "I could, but I don't want to deal with the consequences. Unless you know how to navigate my parent's ridiculous politics, I'd suggest you don't comment on it." However, the spike of anger she had felt faded away, and she sighed. "Look, I know I screwed things up between us because of them, but trust me, you're better off without." Running a hand through her hair, she glanced at him tiredly. "What was it you wanted? Or did you want to just pick holes in my rocky relationship with my parents?"

It took a lot of effort not to roll his eyes or offer a biting remark at the mention of Feyza's mother. The parents that she had never even tried to introduce him to. It was only the fact that he needed something from her that kept him biting his tongue. "Just ah..." he began, but the mom remark just kept nagging at him, and he gave his head a little shake, knowing that he was going to choose to engage in this. "You know that you could fight your mom on it, right? You don't have to just do what would make her happy."

A sigh escaped her lips as she pinched the bridge of her nose. "One of my employees is notoriously unreliable, but for some reason my mother adores him and won't let me fire him, despite the fact it's my company now." She scoffed, rolling her eyes at the thought. "Didn't know you were into eavesdropping. Was there something you needed?"

As soon as he heard the sharp sound of her voice on the phone with someone else, Varun began to regret his decision to approach her then. He should have backed away while he could, maybe broaching the topic over text or just at a later, better time. But he was already there. "Feyza," he greeted her, keeping his own voice light, going for something at least moderately friendly. "It ah...didn't sound like that was a pleasant call," he commented because there was no hiding the fact that he had heard.
