📖 🔥The Loyal Threads 🔥📖 (on Wattpad) https://www.wattpad.com/story/397309007-%F0%9F%93%96-%F0%9F%94%A5the-loyal-threads-%F0%9F%94%A5%F0%9F%93%96?utm_source=web&utm_medium=tumblr&utm_content=share_myworks&wp_uname=stefysekhon ***"Some love stories don't get to last forever... but they live on in silence, in sketches, and in the eyes of a daughter who never asked why."*** When Sam Chauhan, a brilliant small-town boy with a bicycle mechanic for a father, meets Steffy Sekhon, a vibrant medical student from a privileged family, it feels less like coincidence-and more like fate. Studying together at Govt. Brijindra College in Faridkot, Punjab, the two fall into a bond so pure, it becomes legend on campus. But destiny isn't always kind. As family barriers, caste differences, and social expectations tear them apart, Sam walks away with dignity. Steffy, shattered but silent, carries their love across oceans-into marriage, into motherhood, and into the arms of a new life in Canada. Years later, one sketch, one voice note, and one dimpled smile reveal a truth too sacred to name. Told through Steffy's heartfelt diary entries, Sam's quiet regrets, and the innocent questions of young Saavi, *Whispers Under the Banyan Tree* is a soul-stirring story of first love, painful goodbyes, and the unspoken bonds that never really fade. **Because some love stories don't need a wedding. They just need a page. And a promise.**

@threads-of-destiny said: ✉ - for human inquisitors please ( hot take v hot take: ani edition | accepting )
i am !! personally not at all a fan of the idea that the inquisitor could avoid either having to choose between the templars & the mages, or having to sacrifice either hawke or the warden contact. you’ve followed me long enough that you know my tastes tend toward “heart-wrenching or garbagé” but even beyond that, i really like for there to be stakes. this is especially true of a human inquisitor: a human inquisitor is starting in a position of a lot more privilege and power than a non-human inquisitor, and it’s genuinely easier to play as a human inquisitor. so one of the very few things that really limit a human inquisitor is the fact that there are consequences to choices, and for me it’s just not FUN if astoria’s not making any mistakes. if astoria’s not dealing with the aftermath of choosing the templars and what that means for the mages she loves, or for the fact that she does want to ally with the mages but it’s a matter of what’s going to aid the inquisition the most, then why bother? if astoria doesn’t have to deal with the fact that she’s going to lose some people she loves, then why tell the story? if there are zero consequences, if there are zero stakes, if astoria’s coming out of this unscathed, then why bother at all?

@threads-of-destiny said “Hey, baby, you ok? Still feeling strange?” - Dorian, from Bull
Dorian opened his eyes slowly, sitting up in bed, though every muscle in his body was aching like he’d just personally been sat on by a particularly overweight dragon. This--the after affects of a battle, the bruises and the magic-induced hangover--he was used to; having someone hovering above him when it was through, someone with such obvious concern in their voice, he was still having difficulty wrapping his head around. “The last thing I remember is a very bright white light--which I did not walk into, you’re welcome--and then. Nothing.” Though he knew it had certainly been nightfall when they’d run into those Venatori, and that was most definitely morning sun streaming through the cracks in the camp tent.
“Please tell me you haven’t been here all night. You’re worse than the healers.” He tried--clearly--to instill a sense of exasperation into the words, to make it sound as if Bull’s worrying was unwarranted, but it was a losing battle: the fondness--and the relief that Bull was here--would have been obvious to even a Darkspawn.

she tugs him up to join her before the fire in the little camp, smile turning just a little flirtatious, just a little coy. “dance with me!” she laughs, taking his other hand, “it’s been ages.” since they had danced together, since she had danced at all, since there’d been any sign of her previous nobility.  “i’ll sing if you want, so we can have music.”

❝ can you walk? ❞ || @threads-of-destiny
“Absolutely not--”  she gasps, a hand rising slowly and pressing over her sternum where she’d just taken a crossbow bolt to the chest. It’d dented the armor and not shredded through her by some lucky and quick thinking, but it still knocked every bit of wind out of her.
(a nasty bruise, nothing more)
A stuttering cough finally left her as she managed to catch her breath, head thumping against the packed dirt, she rested her eyes a moment before reaching a hand out to get the other’s help to pull herself up.
“I need to replace this before we go anywhere, any of these poor shits got a breastplate I can take?” she wondered, carefully reaching up to undo the strapping over the armor and tossing it aside with a dull clatter over the edge of the cliff.

@threads-of-destiny said: ‘ do you trust me enough? do you trust me at all? ’ - Allys/Anders
Allys bit her lip. Of course she TRUSTED him; she had brought Anders so many time at her side to face their enemies in the past years. Just like Fenris and Varric, he was pretty much always at her side and followed her through all her missions, even when they knew they could risk their lives doing so. But she still didn’t understand why Anders didn’t want to tell her what was his plan. When she asked him for his help, she always told him what the mission was about. Why didn’t he want to do the same ?
Tumblr media
“I trust you, Anders.” She assured, forcing herself to smile. “I just don’t get why you don’t want to explain me what all of this is about. You know you can trust me.”

@threads-of-destiny said:
‘ hang on, i’ve got you.’ - Daïn
      pain , incredible pain . it was something she had bravely thought to tolerate -- the stray arrow that had embedded itself in her shoulder at the urging of a bandit , HOPPED UP on the idea of looking pretty baubles and COIN from the roving band she and the grey warden found themselves a part of . but as morrigan scoffed , her felt her skin begin to grow clammy and COLD , and as she fell to the ground she realized just WHY .
      poison seeped into her blood -- no doubt bought especially for the occasion of looting wanderers -- and as she set the bandit aflame with naught but a LOOK of pained cruelty , morrigan allowed herself to fall completely as his cries filled the morning air .
      and then , she was in someone’s arms ; daïn , the grey warden to be sure . and as vision grew blurry , morrigan found her lips curling into a slight grin .
        ❝ . . . worried for me , are you ? ❞       -- and as she slipped into selfish unconsciousness , morrigan’s smile persisted in SPITE of the pain .

@threads-of-destiny sent:  “Can I offer you a drink?” - Seraphim for Rajmahel
Rajmahel sat a bit to the side, out of view of people in the Herald’s Rest. He didn’t want to really be center of attention today. He’d dealt with plenty of work as the Inquisitor. Tonight, he just wanted to be Rajmahel. No title replacing his identity, no over-the-top formalities.
He was pleased most the patrons were newer recruits or people who understood his desire. As far as some of them were concerned, he was merely another recruit, another Dalish interested in joining the Dalish Inquisitor’s forces.
His ears twitched as he heard the offer and he turned to the man, giving him a smile.
“It depends on the quality,” he jested lightly, Free Marcher accent tinged with a taste of a Dalish undertone. “But I have no issues with company.”

@threads-of-destiny said:   “ I’m sure there’s a reasonable explanation. I just can’t think of it right now. ” - Garrett (Kirkwall verse)   ( hawke dialogue | accepting )
"Oh, there’s always a reasonable explanation for it, isn’t there? I just happened to cut my hand when I stumbled, and, well, I couldn’t stop myself from summoning a demon, whoever could?”
     Beside her, Fenris lets out a snort of agreement, but he doesn’t say anything. Garrett Hawke is a good man, she’s learned, better than perhaps they strictly deserve, and he hasn’t turned them away for needing help or doing something foolish. Quite the contrary — some days it’s almost as if the thing he values most in his companions is a history of questionable life choices. And if he hasn’t turned any of them away, then really, there’s no reason he’d turn Merrill away — not that she would want him too, mind, Merrill is lovely if one can get past the demon-summoning and the bleeding.
     But the thought of it makes her skin crawl, brings back all the worst of her memories and her fears. Magic is about choices, just like anything else. She knows that. She doesn’t challenge it. She’s probably killed more people than Merrill ever could. But she remembers the almost hungover sensation of waking from a night she can’t remember, her blood feeling foreign in her veins, and it frightens her in a way that most things cannot.
Tumblr media
     “Explanations or no, there’s reason to worry,” she murmurs. “Blood magic in the Alienage puts everyone in danger. The mages, the elves — fuck, even us. Even if her, ah, associates don’t kill her, the Templars might.”
     She looks at Fenris, then at Varric, finally at Hawke, and she lets out a long, slow breath. She knows how this goes. They don’t leave anyone behind, whatever the risk. She knows. Astoria runs a hand through her hair, curls catching on her fingers, and she shrugs, sitting back in her seat, the cards in their hands forgotten. “Fine,” she says, tone resigned — this might as well happen. “What do we need to do to protect her?”
