Yesterday, May 31, the website of ticketing company Ticketfly was hacked and held for ransom while customer information was leaked. The cyber attack by “IShAkDz” exposed customer data and, according to CNET though unconfirmed by Ticketfly, the hacker demanded one bitcoin (about $7,500) to fix the cyber attack.

According to CNET, the hacker “appeared to have a database with more than 4,000 spreadsheets holding people’s information, including email addresses, phone numbers, names and addresses.”

also i’m glad we’re in agreement about letting ticketmaster rot. i’ve never had it so rough with getting a ticket before, but this... hoo boy...

I had a 9am code, but somehow only got access to have tickets reserved at 10:10am. the site errored out at the ticket selection side for well over an hour. Got on the phone at 9:30am. Four TM “representatives” passed me around like a hot potato on the phone; i only hung up when i finally got access to the actual ticket page at 10:10am without their help. One of them tried to claim their site would only work on Chrome - i know this is bullshit because i got front row fob on Firefox with NO issues, i told her exactly that and she still had the gall to disagree with me - and the last one was flatly/condescendingly like “You’re not the only one” and put me on hold without asking me, when i had just told him that if I didn’t get help at that moment, I wouldn’t be able to buy tickets because otherwise i’d be late for an appointment. they’re lucky i wasn’t late for my appointment, cutted it close, though.

the only solace is that i’m pretty sure the tickets i got are technically a front row seat, with the way the stages are positioned. but i had to fight for it, to say the least.
