Ran started suspecting Shinichi in the 7th episode, figuring out that he was the one leading the police and her father to the suspects so while she might’ve not suspected him as Shinichi again until way later, she knew he was smart enough to figure out cases all on his own

Yusaku has a very particular way of writing his ‘K’s

Do you have any idea why people are so fixated on Biden’s age but not Trumps? I know he’s 81, but Trump isn’t exactly far behind at 77: in fact he’s the second oldest. This keeps stumping me: it’s not a big gap in age

There are a few reasons for this, yes. As you might imagine, all of them are very stupid.

First and most critically is the way Trump's violent extremism has been completely neutered, mainlined, and normalized by the mainstream media. That's why we still have said media largely treating this as a normal presidential election, instead of that of a successful incumbent against literally the most deranged, unfit, treasonous, criminally and civilly liable, already-led-an-attempted-coup, deep-in-hock-to-Russia, adjudicated rapist, 91-felony-counts-indicted career cheater, grifter, and failed businessman who nonetheless appeals to the still-very-powerful isolationist, racist, white supremacist, and Christian nationalist elements in this country. Crucially, he also appeals to the billionaire class that owns the media and who will benefit from Trumpian tax, economic, and labor policies (especially now that Biden used the SOTU to once more call for a minimum 25% corporate/billionaire tax rate). The media also openly wants Trump back in office, as all the shitass insane things he did (and will do) are good for ratings, and allows them to act like the Principled Truth Tellers, instead of shilling so hard for a greasy orange fascist that we may well lose our 250+ year old democratic republic if he, God forbid, is elected again. Profit is more, well, profitable than truthful reporting, so the media has been completely disincentivized to cover this in any accurate way. We presume they will all wake up with shocked Pikachu faces when Trump packs them off to concentration camps with everyone else he hates, as he has openly promised to do.

Because we're also starting from an underlying premise that everything is the Democrats' fault, this means the party should be blamed for running said successful incumbent for reelection, even if he has low poll numbers which have in fact largely been produced by the media's relentlessly stupid and dishonest coverage. I was reading an article in the AP today about how 15 major student/youth groups have endorsed Biden and plan to work for his reelection; even so, the author could.not.stop going on and on about how Zomgz Old Biden was and how supposedly most Americans thought he was mentally unfit for the job (which is a straight-up lie produced by the endless "Zomgz Biden Old!!!!" handwringing have been subjected to without end. Weird how that works). That is also why we have all those idiotic "Biden should step down!!!" opinion pieces by Very Smart Pundits, notwithstanding the fact that a) it would be completely insane, b) it would be completely insane, and c) somehow nobody seems to think that hey, maybe the Republicans shouldn't nominate an openly seditionist generally god-awful fascist shitweasel who has already been the worst thing to happen to American politics in the twenty-first century (I'd say also the twentieth century, but unfortunately that was when we had Reagan).

In other words, Trump is just taken as a given, while the media spends all its time attacking Biden, calling on Biden to step down, amplifying "concerns" about Biden's age, producing idiotic narratives about Biden, distorting or ignoring the things Biden has done, and then writing concern-troll navel-gazing pieces earnestly wondering why people don't like Biden. (Apparently people's opinion of Biden drastically improves when they learn what he's actually accomplished, but the relentless parade of lies somehow makes it difficult for them to learn what those actually are. Again, weird.) Likewise the endless coverage we get of Biden's smallest slips or stumbles, while the media resolutely ignores Trump's full-on recent descent into absolute raving dementia. Hello, double standards!

This is also fueled by a heaping helping of racism and misogyny, because if God forbid Biden does die in office, what happens? The vice president takes over! We have a clear and constitutionally established precedent for this that has happened many times before! Except, oh no scary!!!, Biden's vice president is a brown woman, and that means SHE WOULD BE IN CHARGE!!!! TERRIFYING!!! So all the scaremongering around Biden's age, aside from being generally dishonest and stupid, has as its implicit message that sure, maybe you're fine voting for an old white man, but are you really comfortable doing that if it means a brown woman might also have the chance to be president?? I DON'T THINK YOU SHOULD BE!!!!!

As I've seen you talking about how the brainwashing plot point in DR3 makes more sense than the haters want to admit, I remember that DR3 itself also completely deconstructed the haters' idea that, to put class 77-B to her cause, she used her analytic prowess to find their dark secrets, and then she manipulated and gaslighted them until they became her loyal attack dogs, with Mikan's conversion into Despair.

As we know, at the middle of Side Despair, Mikan is kidnapped by Junko and Mukuro to be used as a guinea pig for the Despair Video, and by the time she has completely turned, the rest of Class 77-B had noticed her disappearance and were very worried for her, implying that, if Junko had cared enough for Class 77-B to brainwash them in the "using her charisma" sense, she would have been stopped before she could turn them all thanks to the unturned classmates acting out in worry for their brainwashed friends.

I don't think Danganronpa fans realize how next to impossible the idea of Junko managing to convince 15 different high schoolers to all become despair terrorists in less than a year is. Call brainwashing silly as much as you want but it still makes infinitely more sense from both a logical and writing perspective.

Well, I'm not sure which aspects people actually disagree with (like disagreeing that Hajime and Chiaki's relationship is not platonic or that Hajime and Nagito's is not romantic), but I think I have similar preferences to you.

I love the UTDP universe of DRV3, but even that doesn't make me think that Hajime and Chiaki will get romantically involved. Actually, I have said something similar before, but in my opinion, Hajime is the type of person who is rather easy to fall in love with anyone, but Chiaki is not that interested in romance. Hmmm, no, would it be correct to say that she would be satisfied before a romantic relationship? 🤔 I think Chiaki definitely loves spending time with Hajime, but I don't think she feels that it has to be a romantic relationship. Or she is not mentally mature enough to have such feelings.

I think Nagito is similar in that he is not mentally mature, but the direction of his childishness is different from Chiaki's. It's more like... a little kid insisting that he's going to marry one of his neighborhood friends in the future? Well, he is very opinionated, like his ideas about his talents, his value, people without talent are worthless, and I feel that he has a childish selfishness about him that he is not aware of. So I think he would have an intense obsession with the person he likes. And of course, Hajime is representative of those he likes, and it is natural that he wants to have a romantic relationship with him! 💞

Personally, I love not only storylines where Hajime and Nagito are in a romantic relationship, but also storylines where they are just friends. No, calling them "just friends" might not fit. I want them to be sure that they are both special to each other. To be honest, I like multiple ships for Hajime (I love the kind of story where everyone in class 77-B loves Hajime), but I hope that no matter what happens in that universe, they are aware that they are irreplaceable to each other.

In that sense, if someone said, "Why can't you just let Hajime and Nagito be friends!? Why are you trying to make them lovers!?", I don't say that I can't understand that feeling. But I want you to think about Hajime being embarrassed and annoyed because he fell in love with Nagito even though he thinks he doesn't understand him very well, and Nagito being worried that he can't help but be interested in Hajime even though he has no talent. How can they not be cute? XD

Information in DR2 actually help answer this question.

This first image is an email talking about FF being aware of 15 people that are survivors of Hope's Peak (aka Class 77-B) and one of those survivors contacted FF about this.

This second image is another email at a future time from the previous email. In this one, FF has found the 15 survivors of Hope's Peak and brought them to headquarters. They had no idea these survivors are the Remnants of Despair they have been looking for.

FF gave the reasonability of watching Class 77-B to the ones who survived the Killing Game from DR1. (Timeline wise, this event happened after UDG so Toko/Syo were not present at HQ to see the Remnants)

This last email, which was directed to Makoto, strongly suggests that Makoto, Kyoko and Byakuya have already covertly left FF with Class 77-B to Jabberwock Island and that FF realized that the 15 group of people they thought were survivors of Hope's Peak were really the Remnants of Despair they have been looking for.

With all the information presented, here is my theory as to what happened.

After UDG, when Izura got the Junko Ai components from Shirokuma and Kurokuma in Towa city, he sent a tip to FF about him and Class 77-B all being survivors of Hope's Peak. That way, FF would find and pick them all up without suspecting they are the Remnants. The reason why Izura wants him and everyone captured is becuase he knows the existence of the NWP, knows what the Junko ai has planned and is complying to her and he knows that Makoto would be the one to secretly bring him and Class 77-B to Jabberwock Island to use the program on them. (He has the power of the ultimate clairvoyance to know all of this)

He convinced all the other Remnants to follow with the facade of being helpless survivors to FF and it's very likely he made is so everyone would comply in sneaking out of HQ with Makoto and ride a boat to Jabberwock Island. That's how the whole traveling to Jabberwock island thing went off without any issues. the Remnants cooperated with being rehabilitated by Makoto with the use of the NWP. Of course, Izura hid the fact that he had a USB of the Junko ai that he would infect the program with.

I like this theory a lot and it makes sense character and lore wise but it is, admittedly not as interesting as the other theories people have about how the Remnants were captured. People come up with FF going out on missions to find, fight and subdue the Remnants one by one until they are all captured. The intro to Future Arc shows the Remnants and FF in one such epic fight.

Your theory definitely lines up with canon information (especially the emails, I can never remember what's in them lol) , but the reason I asked that, is because it calls into question the competency of the Future Foundation.

During the Tragedy, a big concern for everyone would be the Remnants. They, with the exception of Izuru, would be the most well-known faces out there. The only reason Izuru is exempt is because he isn't the type to be out actively causing chaos, preferring to observe. It's a wonder they have a picture of him at all.

After Izuru calls an anonymous tip into Future Foundation to come get him and the Remnants, whoever picked them up would be at fault for noticing who they were. Many of them have very distinct looks, so to not recognize them no matter the disguise, makes the Future Foundation look a bit silly.

There would also be a very large chance that Makoto wasn't the one who went to pick them up, at least not alone. It's a large gamble, and even if Nagito's and Izuru's ultimate luck helped them, it still wouldn't be enough.

That also rides on the idea that the Remnants somehow agreed to Izuru's plan.

I don't know, I think a lot of the in-game information about the Remnants is contradicted in the anime. But, using canon information, your theory is absolutely amazing! Much love.

Yeah, she killed me because our class was actually going to leave soon and she needed all of Class 77-B alive to take the briefcases with the exception of myself and Nagi and for Miss. Yukizome - I'm not sure why but if I had to guess it likely was due to Mukuro.

Regardless, for a whole year. I had Chisa send me footage of what Junko was planning, same with Mukuro too but due to the parade, I couldn't get them myself but it's all on my laptop and my email address.

Then when Nagi had blown up and our class started to fight back against Satoko, I decided to ask dad to look into that bank that Junko had.

Well... it was a lot that she was spending on; ranging from hits, information and even bribes from Hope's Peak Academy to get certain students in.

Her bank account was created around the start of 2010, which that likely happen around the time of Junko Shimazaki's murder and how her murderer got away.

Oh yeah, that Yasuke kid while he was really knowledgeable and could be profile, he was another bride too. Meaning that likely Junko had plan to use my son's class from the very beginning.

Her Hope

Kyoko kirigiri tried to hide her emotions as she looked at the body of Makoto Naegi. On the outside she was aloof, deep down however she was very sad. She was shocked when she looked at his forbidden action.

That was his forbidden action? Why didn't he tell her? Did he not trust her enough?

Deep down, however, she knew why he didn't tell her. He didn't want her to do something reckless. She takes a few minutes to collect herself before starting the investigation. Asahina and Mitarai swore they heard a quiet "I'm sorry".

The Ultimate Detective watched as Hajime and class 77-B sailed away on a ship. Despite that she survived, she survived, she is saddened that Makoto Naegi The Ultimate lucky student. (Or The Ultimate Hope as she called him) is dead. But she remembered his words to her before she woke up.

"Don't give up on hope"

She then heard footsteps and turned back and was shocked by what she saw. She saw Makoto Naegi. The left side of his face is purple and he was struggling to stand.

"N-Naegi-kun?" She asked. Makoto Naegi is alive. Multiple emotions are running through her mind. Shock, disbelief and happiness because he is alive and guilt because he almost died because of her again. She couldn't take it anymore. She fell on her knees and covered her mouth with her gloved hands. Tears falling freely from her eyes.

"Hey, Hey." Makoto said as he helped her back on her feet. His voice is so beautiful and so real. He is real. She took a note of the patch on his left eye.

The Ultimate Detective wrapped her arms around Naegi, allowing more tears to fall as she began to quietly sob his shoulder.

"I told you, I'll never leave your side, kirigiri-san." The Ultimate Lucky student said with a smile.

"N-Never do that again." She replied with a shaky voice.

Makoto smiled. "I won't. I promise."

They held each other for what seemed like an eternity until Her eyes met his. She leaned in and her lips slowly touched his.

"I love you, naegi-kun" She said looking at him with a smile, cheeks red.

"I love you too, kirigiri-san." He said, smiling back.

She is his hope and He was hers.

//Eloise was the first Project Eden’s Garden I heard about and we know why, Survivor introduced her as the housekeeper of Nagito’s old mansion and was there to greet Class 77-B when Nagito decided to give his old class that mansion as a apology for blowing up Jabberwock Island. But of course she wasn’t a housekeeper in Project Eden’s Garden, she is the Ultimate Fencer.

//Personality wise she’s timid and very passive which seems shocking seeing she does a combat sport, but fencing is a very distance based sport and as we soon discover, in fencing forfeiting a match counts as a win for you so Eloise climbed the ranks because people were too scared to challenge her which gave her a bit of a self-esteem issue as doesn’t even know if her skills are good enough to be a Ultimate.

//Unsurprisingly she butts heads with Grace who like her is another sports based female but while Eloise got handed a lot of her wins, Grace had to fight tooth and nail to get to where she was, especially as Golf is a very male dominated sport, so naturally the two don’t get on. It’s a very Hiyoko-Mikan relationship they have, and one I hope doesn’t end that way.

//I also see she gets on very well with Desmond as the two spend a LOT of time together, could be since they are both characters used to distance combat, but Desmond is a very down to earth and chill guy so maybe he’s the kind of person Eloise needs in her life. And while Eloise is a very timid person, when a situation gets serious, she can be brave as she was the first to accuse someone of murder in the Chapter 1 Class Trial as she found Grace keeping everyone out of Wolfgang’s dorm to be very sus.

//Now, a lot of people are nervous around Eloise as they see some Kanade-like traits in her, someone very weak and passive normally but does a complete flip in serious situations and becomes competent, and worries she’s gonna be a psycho in Chapter 3. I call BS on that one since firstly, Kanade does a complete 180 in the Class Trials which raises alarm bells, but while Eloise has a bit more of a backbone then you think, she still is a very quiet and meek person. The other reason is while I press X to doubt on this one, the team behind PEG have gone on record to say they are gonna to avert most common Danganronpa tropes.

//The psycho Chapter 3 double killer is one I can think they won’t go down seeing how deeply unpopular it is. Does this mean Eloise isn’t gonna be a killer? Too early to call but if she does kill, it won’t be because she’s coo-coo in the head and wants to bone Desmond or something.

Hey Clover. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Advian, but you can call me Ade for short. Nice to meet you. I saw your DR3 Rewrite/AU and I gotta say, I'm in love with it. I love everything from how you have Human Chiaki survive her execution (as well as the story behind her survival and what she does after she recovering from her execution injuries; I especially like how you integrated her into UDG & Hope Arc, as well as showcasing her reaction to the events of SDR2 through monitorization, and getting to reunite with both Hajime and the rest of the DR2 cast in the end), Junko corrupting the DR2 cast into despair through the exploitation (along with emotional & psychological manipulation) of their weaknesses & backstories instead of using Chiaki's death & the brainwashing video to force them into despair (as I too am not keen on either of those aspects; not only with the brainwashing just reeking lazy & bad writing, but also with Human Chiaki being used as a plot device, and I heavily dislike characters being used as plot devices, rather than feeling like their own characters) + them falling into despair individually rather than all together, and showcasing the cast actually being affected by the events of Despair Arc & SDR2 and trying to heal and recover from them. I also like the 3D models you have for Chiaki, as well as the fake name you gave her, Miyuki Watanabe. I find it to be a very cute and adorable name. So much so that I almost named my DR OC/Self-Insert Miyuki after your version of Human Chiaki's fake name, before ultimately deciding to name her Hikaru Enoshima, the Ultimate Social Media Star and adoptive younger sister of Junko Enoshima & Mukuro Ikusaba.

If you don't mind, I have some questions I'd like to ask you in regards to your DR Rewrite/AU.

May I have your permission to do a review on your DR3 Rewrite/AU post for my Advian Reads & Reviews content (which in case you're curious about, AR&R is reading review series where I read something, like fanfiction for example, while also doing a review on it at the same time, giving my thoughts on whatever I'm reviewing as well as potentially even sharing my own stories)?

Do you plan on making a post on why you don't like DR3's storyline? Just a heads up, I'm not asking you this to make upset you or anything (and if I did, then I apologize in advance). I'm just asking out of curious and also cuz I'd love to learn your thoughts regarding your opinions on DR3 and why you aren't a fan of its storyline.

Do you plan on making more posts of your Danganronpa AU? I ask because I'm wondering if there's anything else you'd rewrite in your AU, especially in DR3's Future, Despair, & Hope Arc aside from what you mentioned in the post itself, like the stuff regarding Human Nanami's survival + reunion with the rest of the DR2 cast and the way Class 77-B is corrupted into despair. And also, because I would love to learn more about this DR AU of yours.

Does your Danganronpa AU have a name? If so, what is it called? If it doesn't have a name, then that's ok. I understand if it doesn't have a name beyond "Danganronpa 3 Rewrite/AU", as I too have Reimagines/AUs of mine that don't have names to them and are simply titled "[insert piece of media here] Reimagined AU". Although I will admit, I do hope to give them proper names someday. So, no need to apologize or worry if it doesn't have a name. I completely understand and get where you're coming from.

Do you still plan on turning your DR3 Rewrite/AU into a fanfiction someday like you mentioned in the post or are you no longer planning on doing that? And if so, what website would you post it on if you did end up writing it out (Tumblr, AO3, Wattpad, Quotev, etc)? Not trying to pressure you or anything. Again, just asking out of curiosity as I would love to see your DR3 rewrite be written into a fanfiction. Not to mention that this line from the post, "Maybe one day I’ll write fanfiction for this!", encouraged me to post my ideas & outlines for my Reimagines/AUs on my side blog @letsreimagine and someday write them out into fanfiction (when I feel like I've leveled up and gained more experience as a writer, including in terms of fanfics and media rewrites) and post them on writing websites like Wattpad, AO3, & Quotev. Chiaki deserved better. In writing. In her story. Everything. She is such an important character and I'm disappointed they rushed through her real life counterpart. She was important to everyone, but they failed to really show us why in a way that truly tugs on the heartstrings.

She'd received the note slipped underneath her dorm room door the day before. The handwriting had been relatively unfamiliar to her, different than most of her close friends' telltale penmanship: Chiaki's varying levels of scrawl depending on how immersed she was in a game, Gundham's elaborate flair, and the odd note from Kazuichi that was often tinted in some sort of grease and attempts at love poetry.

This was written by another hand entirely, and one not part of Class 77-B. Truthfully, Sonia didn't know the 79th Class all that well: it was the way the Japanese high school system was structured. They only had three years of it, so by the time Class 79 was beginning their education at Hope's Peak, the 77th classes were preparing for graduation and a life outside of Hope's Peak Academy. But when Tsumugi Shirogane had requested her company, she felt compelled to say yes. One, because it was the kind thing to do as an upperclassman.

And two, perhaps a bit more shamefully, Sonia was intrigued by Tsumugi's talent. She made efforts, perhaps more than others, to befriend her peers on merits of personality and morals and values, not what Hope's Peak deemed them worthy for. But Tsumugi...her talent was fascinating. Sonia had heard of cosplay, of course: Novoselic, like plenty of countries in Europe, had conventions and other events devoted to anime and Japanese culture, where attendees would visit in costume and take photos and videos embodying different characters.

Not that Sonia had ever been allowed to attend, of course: there was one expo in Paris each summer that, since the age of ten, she'd pleaded with her mother and father to go. But it was too great a security risk, and being recognized purchasing merchandise of series with questionable content would not prove to be a good look for the royal family. Cosplay, naturally, was out of the question to begin with: if she was recognized in attire inappropriate for a princess to wear, it would follow her for the rest of her life.

Still, Sonia was undeterred, at least about befriending Tsumugi and learning more about her fellow student. Maybe she was creating a costume for a series or character Sonia was very familiar with. Maybe even, she grinned as she approached the door to Tsumugi's student lab, it was for a horror franchise. It was entirely possible her underclassman had heard of her love of horror (and anime, and gothic literature) and sought her opinion regarding a design! Or maybe she loved them too and was looking to make a like minded friend!

Yes. That was what Sonia chose to believe as she raised her hand and knocked at Tsumugi's door. "Shirogane-san?" She called out. "Are you in? I received your note and have arrived at the specified time."

My headcanon in the post-DR3 world

I'm preparing a short manga for Nagito's birthday, but I thought it might not make sense without my headcanon explanation, so I put it together here.

*I set this post to reblog prohibit because this is basically an explanation of my manga.

*This post is already a bit long, but I actually have a lot more headcanons, so maybe I'll add some of them from time to time.

■ The situation of Hinata and Class 77-B after the DR3 Hope Arc:

Hinata and Class 77-B (from now on, I will be writing Hinata's team) are set up as a separate organization from the Future Foundation, traveling around the world by ship to eliminate the remnants of despair and restore the world. (This means everyone did not return to Jabberwock Island, but continued their journey directly on the ship they used to leave Jabberwock Island).

The reason they did not return to Jabberwock Island is because it is land owned by the Future Foundation. Since the killing spree at the Future Foundation was allegedly masterminded by Hinata's team, they cannot return there.

However, the world is not an environment in which they can live without the support of the Future Foundation, so they are actually connected to members like Naegi and others who know the truth.

Naegi and his team have the critical project of rebuilding Hope's Peak Academy, so they basically stay in Japan most of the time and cannot immediately address problems that occur outside of Japan. Therefore, Hinata's team mainly deal with problems outside of Japan. (Basically, they communicate with each other through telecommunications using a specially prepared line.)

Basically, Hajime Hinata's presence is kept secret (not strictly, but the people around him realize that it would be better if he did not appear in public as much as possible), so once Hinata's team have temporarily dealt with the problem, they will leave the area and the Future Foundation will take care of the follow-up. (The Future Foundation employees who do not know the truth simply perceive that another unit of their organization took care of the problem before them. They do not know that it was Hinata's team who took care of it.)

■ Additional information about post-3 Hajime Hinata:

He made two promises to everyone on his team.

Not using Izuru Kamukura's talents against teammates. Because he could control the will of his teammates if he wanted to, so he promises not to use Kamukura's talents against his teammates except in emergency situations, whether good or bad.

Never be alone. (Always be with someone.) He can use Kamukura's talents, but between after SDR2 and the 3rd Hope Arc, he used his talents so much that he once became "void" as a result of overusing his talents. The state called “void" is also one of my head canons. This occurs as a reaction to overworking his brain. Once this happens, all of his senses will be shut down for a while, and he won't be able to move at all. Recovery time varies from case to case, but usually ranges from 3 to 7 days. The heart and other minimal organs will still work, but he will not be able to eat or do anything else, so he will die if he has no way to eat and excrete. To prevent him from getting into this very dangerous situation, he cannot use his talents excessively, and people around him do not allow it, and this rule was put in place to deal with him in case he becomes void. To enforce this rule, Komaeda accompanies Hinata as a watcher; when Hinata is in his room, the Observer AI (Chiaki Nanami) watches Hinata.

■ Post-3 Nagito Komaeda:

He is supposed to be Hajime's watcher, so his role is basically to be at Hajime's side. The reason he was put in the role of watching over Hinata was because Hinata's teammates thought he would have a high chance of survival even in a critical situation thanks to his talent. Another reason is the problem of not being able to deal with anyone but Hinata.

The restored Observer AI provided mental care for those who returned. After everyone's mental health was restored to some degree, she remained aboard the ship as one of the companions. In my headcanon, his ego exists as a separate entity from Hajime Hinata even in post-3, but it basically does not appear on the surface. He may appear on the surface when needed, but almost never, as it would cause Hinata's brain to become overloaded.

Hinata can talk to him. Technically speaking, it can only predict what Kamukura is likely to say using Kamukura's talents. However, the accuracy of the predictions is so high that the results are equivalent to having a conversation with Kamukura. Due to this fact, Hinata will get tired if he talks to Kamukura a lot.
