@patientlibrarian I’ve got it:
Once upon a time (yeah you know this will be good lol) there was a man named Flynn, and he had a heart full of hurt because of things completely out of his control - which was mostly the horrid writing of the TV show he was stuck in.
One day, he stole a time machine, because he thought it would make him feel better. By the time he realized it wouldn’t make him feel any better, he had met and fallen half-in-love with an angel walking around in history, chasing after him. She thought he was the bad guy, but he wasn’t. When he tried to make her understand that he wasn’t the bad guy, she didn’t believe him.
After several months of this back and forth, cat-and-mouse-game, the girl, whose name was Lucy, began to see him not as a bad guy but as a misunderstood man in an incredible amount of pain. She wanted to help him.
They fell in love and ran away to the Maldives where they currently live happily ever after. The end.
- Timeless writers ain’t got nothin’ on me :)

Hello @13lunarstar
I hope you don’t mind me sending an ask again. I wanted to ask for recommendations on resources (books, blogs, or anything else you’d suggest) for learning about the mythology, stories, and tropes associated with the various nakshatras. I’m deeply intrigued and want to dive deeper into this subject.
I recall someone mentioning that the trope associated with a particular nakshatra might manifest in the life of the native. How can one analyze these tropes and use them for predictions, particularly in relation to houses and planets?
Hi again! Thank you for such an interesting question. It’s always so exciting to me to hear from someone diving deep into Vedic astrology and such a fascinating (and extensive) world of nakshatras. Let me help with some recommendations and insights. My answer will be long but that's the subject of nakshatras!
As for the resources, if you'd like to learn right about the mythology and more profound meaning of nakshatras, I would recommend the following materials:
"The nakshatras: the stars beyond the zodiac" by Komilla Sutton (Komilla has a way of explaining things beautifully, combining traditional wisdom with modern language. I also recommend her book “Lunar Nodes – Crisis and Redemption” for a deeper dive into karmic astrology, if you are interested);
"The book of nakshatras: a comprehensive treatise on the 27 constellations" by Prash Trivedi, a well-known and trusted book.
"The nakshatras: the lunar mansions of Vedic astrology" by Dr. Dennis M. Harness, with lots of very practical info.
If you'd like to check some classic Jyotish texts:
Certainly, my number one - Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (BPHS) - a fundamental source of information about Vedic astrology including a detailed description of nakshatras;
Jataka Bharanam by Varahamihira - it goes into details on how nakshatras impact our personality; it also covers predictive astrology and suggests certain nakshatras to forecast favourable time periods.
Online you can find numerous open resources but I strongly recommend start learning from trusted, well-known materials, preferably books and classic texts. Today astrology as a discipline and a knowledge system becomes very subjective. More and more people, who study and practise it, tend to write and say their subjective opinions, which in turn are based on their personal experiences rather than traditional astrology principles. But hey, do not get me wrong: I do not say it is bad or wrong, but if you want to study the real knowledge - go to the classic texts.
Even though, I admit that for modern readers, ancient texts might be a little bit outdated (for example, ancient texts mention elephants or horses as a mode of transportation, whereas we perfectly understand that today everyone uses vehicles; and so on. But the thing I want to say - their core principles remain timeless and provide a structured understanding of astrology.
Regarding the tropes...Hmm, a good question, really. I believe that they mostly manifest in our lives on a psychological and karmic levels. I would say it also depends on what you mean by a term "nakshatra's trope" - is it a nakshatra's symbolic image, nature, its ruling planet, pada (1,2,3 or 4) or their combination? Vedic astrology is very multilayered but it has a very good logical structure, just like stringing pearls into a necklace. Pada is also very important element of the nakshatra system which I haven't discussed in details here yet. In a nutshell, Pada is a subdivision of each nakshatra, which further narrows its symbolism and meaning. All nakshatras have their own padas which can manifest very differently (I won't go deep into details now).
For example, let's take someone with Moon in Aries in Ashwini nakshatra, which, as we know, has a symbol of a horse head, meaning speed, vitality, impulse and new beginnings. Ashwini has a divine nature. Its ruling planet is Ketu, the south lunar node, covering such themes as past life karma, spiritual insights, unexpectedness, detachment, impulsiveness, and unconventional solutions. Ruling Deity of Ashwini is called Kumaras, the celestial twin healers, associated with quick remedies, healing processes, and rejuvenation. Also, the trope of celestial twins Kumaras may manifest as the natural duality of a person born with this placement; another trope might be manifested as having twin sibling(s), a strong bond with one of several family siblings and in general multiple births within a family. Note: this is not 100% common trope - of course, some Ashwini people do not have siblings at all.
Ketu directly connects this nakshatra to the accumulated soul wisdom and unresolved karma from the past lives, meaning that past life's actions (i.e. karma) will play a certain (or even significant) role in the current lifetime. How it will play - this is already another question subject to a deeper chart analysis.
To analyze how Ashwini nakshatra manifests in a person's life, I would suggest using the following algorithm:
Check Ashwini's ruling planet: in our example, Ashwini is ruled by Ketu, the South lunar node. Look at Ketu’s placement. Note the specific house Ketu occupies and whether it is in:
Dusthana (6, 8, 12): indicates challenges or karmic lessons.
Kendra (1, 4, 7, 10): positive and favorable results.
Upachaya (3, 6, 11): results improve with time and effort.
For Rahu and Ketu, evaluate rulers of the signs they occupy (depositors) and their placements, as these influence their effects.
2. Evaluate life areas, impacted by the planet, its nakshatra and nakshatra's ruling planet. In our example it is Moon, which governs our internal mental processes and emotional reactions on the surrounding world. For example, let's say Moon in Ashwini is in the 4th house - it is a good placement. The 4th house represents home, homeland, emotional foundations, mother, inner peace, and real estate.
Positive Ashwini manifestations here: fast emotional adaptability and the ability to recover and heal from setbacks, an adventurous and proactive mindset that always seeks to embrace new experiences; a native most likely will have car(s) - this is another trope manifesting in this life time; a person likes sport and driving (which is often speedy); relationships with mother and family women are prominent.
On the flip side: a tendency towards impulsive, not carefully thought, emotional responses, difficulty maintaining long-term focus; potential need to frequently change places (not necessarily far away from the native place), but also potential general restlessness at home.
Now let's take nakshatra's ruler. For example, Ashwini's ruler, Ketu is in Gemini in the 6th house - the house of routine, work, health, enemies and challenges. Thus, we now see that Ashwini's energy impacts the 4th house and the 6th house. Ketu in Gemini's manifestations here might include: unresolved emotions tied to family, homeland or maternal relationships, creating feelings of restlessness or dissatisfaction; overthinking and amplified mental restlessness, leading to difficulty focusing on specific tasks or emotional matters. Coupled with Moon in Aries (Ashwini) it only adds impulsiveness, potentially resulting in quick, emotionally charged decisions at home or work; a karmic inclination to serve and heal others, especially through communication or emotional support, while learning detachment from material and emotional desires and so on.
3. Check all the influences on the nakshatra's lord (positive and negative aspects from other planets and Rahu).
4. To predict various life events, use the daily transit (Panchanga) to identify the nakshatra in effect and align your activities with its nature for short-term planning.
Example with Ashwini: as we already know, this nakshatra is associated with fresh beginnings and everything new. Therefore, if you plan to start something, a business, healing or health-related activities (e.g., medical treatments or gym), traveling somewhere or you need to make some quick decisions - doing it during Moon in Ashwini transit is a very smart choice. However, if you'd like to finish a long-pending project you started some time ago, Ashwini is not really suitable for that. You might consider finalizing a project during Moon in Revati transit, perfect for closures (the last 27th nakshatra)
For long-term predictions, use Dasha periods, specifically your current Mahadasha (major period) and Antardasha (sub-period) as well as nakshatra’s ruling planet dashas to predict when its themes will manifest more prominently.
In our example, we might consider checking Moon Mahadasha, Ketu Mahadasha, as well as their sub-periods. For example, during Ketu Mahadasha, Ashwini nakshatra’s themes will take center stage, potentially emphasizing spiritual growth, detachment, or karmic healing. During Moon Antardasha, emotional healing, nurturing relationships, and finding peace at home may become priorities.
Panchanga allows to calculate the most favourable days subject to a type of your planned activity and the Moon nakshatra's transit.
You can read a bit more about Pachanga here: https://instaastro.com/panchang/ or here: https://www.drikpanchang.com/tutorials/drikpanchang-tutorials.html
Hope it helps.

deep down i'll never stop being an astrology girly so here i am reading about the compatibility between marauders era characters and i might be projecting but i think they're pretty close to how i picture the dynamics
lily & severus
Capricorn and Aquarius friendship compatibility is pretty high. Both of them are the kind of people that go picky when selecting their BFFs and believe in investing in them thoroughly. If they closely get along with each other, they will share a shrewd bonding that would be liked by all around. With fun and excitement in their friendship, Capricorn and Aquarius friends share a lot in common. Both love to search for timeless things and believe in scorning fads. Where Aquarius shows its creativity, their Capricorn buddy just perceives it all right and calculatedly and right with them. Therefore, as pals, they could effortlessly get along, but only if none of them becomes critical or demotivating.
james & sirius
Both Scorpio and Aries are ruled by the planet Mars in astrology. The energies of two Mars natives could lead them to either become allies or ruthless enemies. Arguments in friendship are inevitable but the differences won't exist for long. Aries, as they like to be the starters of things, claims the spotlight in the Aries and Scorpio relationship, meanwhile, the Scorpio stays behind the scenes to support the Aries intellectually and emotionally. Aries and Scorpio could have a wonderful friendship and achieve great success while having their share of fun.
sirius & remus
These two Water Signs are terrific friends. Protective Scorpio loves caring for vulnerable Pisces. The whimsical Fish enjoys lifting Scorpio's spirits. They're highly creative people who love collaborating on writing, music, and design projects. When they're not working, they have fun trading books, watching movies and going to concerts together. These two Scorpio Pisces friends are intense souls who often form friendships within a fringe group – think Skater-punks and Metalheads. Scorpio, in particular, likes to look down on mere mortals and frightens people off with their menacing demeanour and sometimes, eyeliner and multiple piercings. Pisces is fashionably depressive enough for fringe dwelling but recognizes much of Scorpio’s schtick is self-preservation – they soothe the scorpion beast with creativity and off-beat spirituality. Scorpio understands Pisces chaotic mind and teaches them how to focus on one idea before moving onto the next.
james & remus
The Aries sign in astrology is ruled by the planet Mars while, on the other hand, Pisces is ruled by the planet Jupiter. The influence of Mars keeps the Aries strong and active. Jupiter’s influence adds intensity to their friendship. Aries could help Pisces realise their dreams, and on the other hand, Pisces could provide a recess where Aries could display the softer side of their character. In a nutshell, both the signs complement each other well in a relationship. And as they do so, the chances of their friendship turning into something special are always high.
lily & james
(romantic compatibility) Here comes your knight in shining armour Aries. Apart from the initial A, there are literally thousands of other things that take the Aries and Aquarius compatibility beyond imagination. The Aries are usually attracted to the Aquarius owing to the latter’s charming personality. The Aries and Aquarius are very idealistic individuals and extremely good at communicating their thoughts and feelings with each other. In love, the Aquarius are a bit reserved but open and excited about learning the hows and wows of the relationship. These two signs usually go well together in general and they support each other through thick and thin.
(communication) The Aries and Aquarius conversations are so fulfilling that many people would literally pay to listen them talk. It doesn't happen often for the Aries to find an idol in someone, but an Aquarius does inspire them. An Aries would listen to the Aquarius with sheer curiosity, all excited about what they might discover. Meanwhile, Aquarius also enjoys their role as a sharer for they have so much to say. However, Aquarius is not up for ridiculous conflicts and usually cuts the other person from their life to safeguard themselves from the same. Thus, it is recommended that the Aries rein their impulsive nature and urge to counter when they converse with Aquarius.
am i crazy or does it actually make sense???? i also wish we knew what is peter's solar sign. i feel inclined towards gemini or cancer, but i'd love to hear if anyone has any thoughts on this

A deep analysis on Pantalone
Since his first appearence on genshin on Winter's night Lazzo, Pantalone has become an obsession of mine, which not only made me look further on some Commedia Dell'arte scripts, but also sucked me into a whirlwind of theories regarding the possibilities for what part his character will play in the game.
I'm warning you, this post will be big, but also written in a hurry. There is a chance nothing will make sense, but there's also a chance that I'm not being as crazy as I think I am. After all, I guessed right the first time, when I said here that Dottore and Pantalone could be partners, and it ended up being true.
So fellas, specially Pantalone nation, enjoy this dose of hyperfocus.
The Pantalone archetype in Commedia Dell'arte:
Let's start with a simple question; what is a Pantalone?
I know this question may sound strange at first, but we have to keep in mind that the characters in the original commedia had their main comedic features making their way to be transformed into classic archetypes that still are present in other characters way more famous to us. We may know a lot of Pantalones in fiction, even if we never thought about this connection before! Let me show you some of them:
Tumblr media
The "Pantalone archetype", as you can see, is in a nutshell "old men that love money". However, there is often a very important factor that must be considered when identifying them among comical rich characters; they often have a past in poverty, or at least weren't always as rich as they are now, and that is the cause of paranoid and grumpy behaviour. Another common trope for them (nowadays) is their hidden feelings, commonly having one or more family members that they love more than their wealth. That explains why Mr. Burns is the only one up there that doesn't match that new criteria, despite being obviously a Pantalone archetype from head to toe.
There is a reason for that. When we hear a joke, would you find it funny if you couldn't understand it?
Pantalone was created to mock the richer classes at the time (and it's important to remember, the era was marked by the bourgeoisie starting to get a sit among the higher classes.) but at the same time, he was created to represent Venice. We have a double joke here: in his name, and in his personality. The joke in his name is because the animal that represents Venice is the lion, so, to represent it, he was suppose to ''put/plant the lion''(pianta leone in italian) in the places he went to, being it other cities or colonies. Contracting this, we have ''Pantalone'', at the same time that it means Pants. The main joke of his personality is that although he is very rich, he lives almost miserably. It doesn't seem to be a popular portrayal that he was part of a noble family or always rich; he was innitially a merchant, and he is a symbol of the self-made man. That past in poverty is what gives context to why he is so stingy and obsessed with his money. And people loved it. Well, we still do. In fact, the most famous version of his portrayal is not focused on how powerful or cunning he can be, but in this pathetic and grumpy man that could be having a wonderful life, instead, he is too concerned about spending a single penny, and ends up being miserable. All to keep his status as rich. This is funny because we can still understand it, we still know very well what they were mocking.
That is why Pantalone is one of the strongest characters in the commedia. This exact stereotypical behaviour ended up becoming timeless.
More than that, it slowly became more and more a famous archetype to create characters that people end up sympathizing a lot with once they see their pasts. And why that? Time passes, and now we have families being middle class; not rich, but not miserably poor. The picture changes a bit: Pantalone became less a figure to represent rich people being cruel, and more a figure that can be understood; that is ''just like us'', a figure that still have a good heart deep down. The message being: "anyone can become a Pantalone one day, but it can change". (if they are properly traumatized into being gentle to others, like our man Ebenezer Scrooge).
Or even, a person that got blinded by power. And nothing good happens when a person that learned to hate the world and it's people gets power. They learned that the powerful ones can do as they please with vulnerable people like them, and what is sweeter for the oppressed than being the oppressor?
With all that in mind, let's continue.
The Pale Flame Set:
Tumblr media
Genshin really went hard with the "rich man with a tragic past" trope for him.
So, we have here a man that feels so forgotten by the divine, so miserable and powerless, that he started to feel enraged at the gods and ready to declare war. It's important to notice since now: It's not about the money for him, it's about the power that comes with it. Because money is a power that common humans should control, not the gods. The gods don't need it, humans need. He needs it. In the end, it's more about him than the rest, I'll talk more about it later.
But what more do we know about him?
To start, many things we can discover about him in game shows that he is not stingy like the more classic versions of Pantalone. For example, the Goth Grand Hotel was entirely reserved by the fatui delegation. When we ask Goth about it, he says that Pantalone was so generous in his offer that he had no choice but to comply with the demand. This shows that he has no trouble using mora to get what he wants if words aren't enough. To me, this is just a good example of someone shamelessly using his power.
Tumblr media
We see a similar indication of his "loose" fist on money when in Winter's Night Lazzo, he finds the idea of mourning for half a day absurd. Funny, even. In English, this is not very noticiable, but in Chinese, he sounds very passive-aggressive. He says that Pulcinella's values are ''more twisted than those of a banker like him'', and by that, unapologetically recognizing himself as a twisted person, considering that, right before, he was saying people say that the Northland Bank's true currencies are blood and tears (and cries of loss/wailing, in chinese). We haven't seen many harbingers speaking like this yet; this openly (or implicitly) sadistic.
Ok, Scaramouche was an asshole, Signora was patronizing, and Dottore is simply the cruelest character in the game yet, but I'm not talking about simply being cruel. There are types of cruelty. Signora never bragged about being cruel, neither was she sadistic. She acted violent with Venti for personal reasons, and was very diplomatic with the other archons. Dottore, too, acted very reasonable and calm in Sumeru, and even in the Zandik notes, he doesn't seem to enjoy the suffering of his patients and test subjects, it's just a natural part of the science for him. Scaramouche is the most similar one in that regard, but that speaks volumes by itself. He, too, was a very frustrated abused person wanting to feel like the abuser.
But there's more to it. In Liyue, when we ask Andrei about the Northland Bank, he says that the economy in Snezhnaya "have the brilliance and foresight of Master Pantalone to thank". Pantalone is regarded as a bold mind in economy, and therefore dangerous in many occasions. To start, we have Tartaglia's voice-over indicating his genius:
"Oh, now that guy has a head full of grandiose plans fueled by raw ambition. I don't understand a word he says once he starts talking about his theories… Eh, but as long as he keeps our cash reserves stocked up, I'm not complaining."
Then, we have Uncle tian tellilng us in Yelan's mission:
(...)"However, his "wealth" is not a mere question of how much Mora he has to his name. He has a very unique understanding of wealth… And what he's planning may very well shake the world to its core."
And finally, Scaramouche's voice-over cementing the point being built:
"Oh, the ninth-ranked guy. He's obsessed with the idea of "fair exchange," to the point of wanting to overthrow the natural imbalance between gods and humans. But, I guess it's just how ordinary mortals are like — it's easy for them to come up with pointless delusions. Honestly, it's nothing worth writing home about, just like how there's also nothing impressive about his abilities or choice of partner. Hmph. Anyone who chooses to work closely with The Doctor is sure to meet a nasty end."
Now, we can definitely conclude two things with all that people say about him.
He is very revolutionary and many are already aware that what he is planning will be groundbreaking.
He is ambitious enough to ally himself with a person openly known as destructive and abusive by the other harbingers themselves.
That leads us to the question…
What part will he possibly play in Genshin?
Let's put everything together: We have a character here that has a tragic past, is filthy rich, has revolutionary plans for the future, and apparently is…a bit fragile for a harbinger. What potentials does he have? What can be done with him?
Well, first, I think he will be a parallel to Ningguang.
By that, I'm not stating that I think he is from Liyue. It must seem very obvious for many, but let's not forget that nothing in game confirmed his nationality. Ever. We have to remember that many people were also super sure that Scaramouche would be electro because of ''what the game showed'', but in reality we never saw him using electro powers, we just assumed.
But by saying he will be a Parallel to Ningguang, I'm saying that both were very poor people that are now Teyvat's richest individuals. But while one managed to wake a vision solely by the force of ambition, the other still wasn't graced with one, even if his ambition is as big as (if not bigger than) Ningguang's. Not only that, their views on mora and wealth are very different; while Ningguang is content with things as they are now, Pantalone isn't.
Let's take a look on Wriothesley's signature weapon, the Cashflow supervision:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"We'll start by creating a new currency to replace the dependence on mora"
Hm...
"Nor shall the wealth of the Gods descend, to rescue the dignity of the poor from the feet of the rich."
I don't know about you guys, but I admit that when I first read Pantalone's pale flame piece I thought he was lowkey a radical communist acting as a capitalist(which I found neat, personally), but the Cashflow Supervision opened my eyes. Come on, I know it's not confirmed that the person speaking is Pantalone, but just look at it. He even uses the same analogy of arteries and blood!
Let's think about what is being said here.
He is planning on making a new currency, one that will wipe mora away from the picture. A good plan, if you ask me. And, do you remember? Zhongli told us once, in the end of the Liyue arc:
Tumblr media
This is the best opportunity Pantalone could ask for. As the Golden House ceases operation, the Northland bank can act. And I believe this is the reason Pantalone was trying to interfere with Liyuean politics in the first place, with Liyue being the economic capital of Teyvat, of course it's important to have someone that will be more open to agree with his ideas in charge, even if it was treated as a secondary matter to him.
But aside from that, that final sentence in Cashflow supervision really sticks to me. Again this sort of gleeful enjoyment with the power he will have. It becomes obvious that his main motivations behind the ''fair exchange'' between gods and humans isn't to make things better for anyone particularly. The rich will still be rich and the poor will still be poor. What he craves is to feel like a god in the end. To have the power to give and take, to be both feared and praised. And then deny the ones in need, just like he felt the gods denied him in the past.
Now, returning to the Pantalone archetype.
There are two routes for villains like that: 1, they simply die. 2, they change their worldviews in a very traumatic event.
I think Pantalone will die... I don't know, it's a hunch. I sure hope he doesn't, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happens. It's something in how Scaramouche hints he will have a nasty end too, or his dead anime mom hairstyle(kind of), or his white strands of hair... Or better, I think that he would be a good character to kill. Speaking about the narrative. He could die trying to bargain, or he could die while spitting the hardest truths possible to the traveler, maybe even making them reflect about the gods, the Archons, or what the Fatui want after all. I mean...we have now just 2 nations left, and the traveler didn't question anything about the harbingers' motivations?! Oh, please. Or maybe, if not the traveler, at least make the players symphatize with him. He is a very tragic character when you think about it.
If he lives, I think he is literally the best harbinger to make redeemable without it sounding ridiculous. Think about it: how many times a capitalistic villain was actually an anti-villain? I'll show you a very good example. Tumblr's lord and saviour himself:
Tumblr media
Yes.
Pantalone is the best character in genshin to suffer a deep realization of his own morals in the best case scenario. But if not, he can flee or die trying to defend himself in the most tragic way, screaming. Maybe cry, plead, remember memories of himself in the past, and in the game? I'm sure some people will feel bad for him if there's a cutscene like this, as we defeat him, even if the final conclusion will be ''well, he deserved it''.
With all that said, I will conclude all this by saying that it's amazing how I love this character when he didn't even show up in the game yet. He has so much potential that I honestly feel that he can't fail, no matter the narrative they choose. It's already impossible. If he ends up being pathetic in the game? I'll love it. If he ends up being a complete maniac? I'll love it too. What if he is cold and calculating? Also fits and I'll like it! What about if he lives or dies? I'm all in, I will want to see it. The only way he can fail in the narrative is by dying too fast like Signora, I mean, before we can properly know more about him in the game(not only through weapons or artifact sets), but even so, Signora's death is the reason we got the Winter's Night Lazzo in the first place. Plus, I don't think Hoyoverse would repeat the same event twice, specially when they are improving the story-telling method significantly.
So think of any possibility for him, seriously, and tell me, honestly, wouldn't it be interesting?

Brad Paisley Live Show Review: 3/10, NRG Stadium, Houston
Tumblr media
Brad Paisley
BY JORDAN MAINZER
Midway through Brad Paisley's headlining set on Monday at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, I found myself thinking about his place in contemporary mainstream country music. His upcoming, now-two-years-delayed thirteenth studio album Son of the Mountains has no publicly known release date, and he wasn't performing anything that is planned to be on it. (The rodeo is a party atmosphere; I'm sure Paisley didn't want to bum out the crowd with tunes about the opioid crisis or the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.) So what better time for him and us to take stock? At this point in his career, Paisley hasn't quite reached the legend status of predecessors George Strait, Garth Brooks, and Tim McGraw. He's too thoughtful and politically left-leaning for bro country, too witty to be as ever-earnest as the Chris Stapletons or Zach Bryans. And despite Paisley's versatility as a guitarist, he's not going genre hopping like collaborator Post Malone. What Paisley does have, thankfully, is a wide array of songs with varying tones and consistent degrees of timelessness, the stage presence to make even a stadium concert feel intimate, and a killer backing band, The Drama Kings.
Tumblr media
Brad Paisley
On Monday, Paisley immediately started out strong because, well, let's get this out of the way: "Ticks" is a perfect live opener. Its first couplet serves to introduce Paisley's ethos in a nutshell. "Every time you take a sip / In this smoky atmosphere / You press that bottle to your lips / And I wish I was your beer," he sings, horny but with a pen still subtle enough for double entendres such as, "I'd like to check you for ticks." He deftly unfurled his puns over sultry blues riffs, the ideal musical accompaniment to his libidinous musings. If "Ticks" is a backwoods country classic that could have been written in the 70's, its follow-up in the set, "Online", feels like it was concocted sometime in the past five years instead of almost two decades ago. Paisley narrates it from the self-deprecating perspective of someone who is "cooler online" than in-person, and the song holds up as a prescient illustration of incel culture--simply replace the line about Myspace with one about listening to podcasts.
Tumblr media
Brad Paisley
Of course, Paisley's far from all jokes. He connected with the crowd via lovelorn songs like "Perfect Storm", "Waitin' on a Woman" (featuring high and lonesome steel guitar from Randle Currie), and "Then", during which Paisley shook hands with folks in the front row and grabbed their phones and snapped selfies with them. Especially reflective was "Last Time for Everything", whose lyrics are more complex than on initial glance, listing not just general milestones of growing older but people and things forever gone. When Paisley sang the line, "Like a George Strait cassette in a Pontiac," he tipped his cap to the King of Country Music (and unofficial king of the Houston Rodeo); he showed off his guitar chops with an outro of Prince's "Purple Rain", the Minneapolis genius one of the "last time"s mentioned in Paisley's song.
Tumblr media
Brad Paisley
Indeed, if you've heard only Paisley's recordings, you'd be ill-prepared for how blistering his live show is. He shreds the entire time. Fiddler Justin Williamson got the honor of being the other band member to join Paisley throughout the concert on the stadium floor, the two demonstrating their ripping axe work to the few who didn't need the jumbotron for a close-up shot. After playing "Old Alabama", which ends in an instrumental hoedown, Paisley challenged The Drama Kings to go as fast as they could, showcasing Ben Sesar's chugging, propulsive snares. Even though I knew Paisley would conclude his show with the ones about choosing fishing over a woman and breaking in a Chevy with some off-roading, and the one delivered from the point of view of booze itself, the way in which he presented his highlights was unexpected, fresh, and raw. There'll always be a place for that in contemporary mainstream country music.

A pro-Kairi rant
This here is why I don't want canon undeniable confirmed no work around Sora/Kairi in future KH in a nutshell. This is my personal ramble I just want to get off my chest on my own blog. This is nothing against people that ship it.
Tumblr media
It's not because I'm some ew yucky girl hater. It's the opposite. I've always loved Kairi and any sane fan will tell you she's been treated like crap through the entire series.
The moment she's confirmed to be "safe", she gets left behind. Again and again and again. She just wants to be included. She wants to break out of this role and is beat down every time she tries to.
Tumblr media
KH3 does that again. MoM does that AGAIN. Like it's so deliberately disrespectful. Your role is to stay behind and stare longingly at the skyline.
Tumblr media
Again and again we're shown that she tries to break out of this and can't. And no KH3 doesn't fix it. She once again has to rely on her Princess powers to be allowed to be relevant, when we're shown she wants to be actively a part of this with her fighting prowess. What does she get for that? Killed to be rescued again. I know some people thought Remind was a some great gotcha moment but really it just confirmed the already existing status quo.
And any moments to give her some development get deliberately pushed aside (Very cool we never see her training) or explained away (you can't learn during your adventure like EVERY other character, you specifically have to stay behind for this).
If the series wants to have this relationship, why go out of their way to cut her out over and over? Just as an example: We see Sora excitedly text Riku, why isn't he also talking about Kairi? No really, I'm asking. Even if she's in the timeless forest (sorry guys we can't show you a fun little level for that too much work ugh)(we just really needed Kairi to write a onesided letter to Sora and to remind Lea of Xion - because even here she's not allowed to have a moment for herself), a simple "Man, I wish I could send Kairi a message but I can't reach her there." line would've done a lot. Why make it so purposefully onesided? Why make it so sad and cruel.
Then you have the whole Winnie Pooh - Kairi parallel in KH3 plus the awkward paopu scene that really hammer home how things have changed, they have changed, expectations aren't working out. There's plenty other posts that dig deep into this.
If Kairi as she is now "gets officially together" with Sora, while she's still not allowed to develop her own identity, actually have her own moments, break out of her role as the pining left behind love interest... well maybe some people don't care but I do. It would feel so rotten. The heteronormative amatonormative mainstream media standard that the girl character doesn't need development, she can just be there to be longed after. You know when you watch a TV show and he was a boy she was a girl syndrome starts and you feel that uncomfortable feeling? It's that.
I thought we'd at least get something out of MoM but even here her moment gets stolen by Sora. I don't care if it's a heart connection or whatever, on screen I am once again Sora. (Just to be clear I love my boy Sora I'm just looking at this from an outside the game perspective.)
Actually there's a great video on that here.
Sora and Riku's relationship has been developed over the course of several games. We know them as people, we know their bond. Why should I care about Sora and Kairi in a romantic setting when the games go out of their way to give me next to nothing beyond "she's the girl 🤪you know". Like she's just a prop.
Kairi deserves better.
Tumblr media
Let her develop her own connections. Let her actually find out about her past in RG. Let her finally be an actual equal to Sora and Riku. And then and only then can I be behind canon Sora/Kairi.
I wish I could word this better but I think about this and I'm just filled with indignation and I blank out.
Not because I'm a hater, but because I think Kairi deserves fucking better, do I not want a romantic relationship for her. A girl character is more than just a damn accessory. KH3 didn't do a great job with most characters, but at least in their respective games Aqua, Xion and Namine are allowed to have actual depth, motivation and feelings beyond a rigid role.
In conclusion *big sigh* if a canon romantic relationship for Kairi does take place without any of the above mentioned, I will be severely disappointed.
Now is the last chance to give Kairi the treatment she actually deserves. Considering the track record I don't exactly have high hopes.
P.S. Personally I think KH works best without romantic duos anyway. Platonic bonds can and are just as deep, romanticism just gets placed at the top of the hierarchy - usually - except KH always goes out of its way to show us that that doesn't matter. You don't see people shipping Aqua with Ven and yet no one would question they care deeply about one another. Romance isn't a requirement for love.
P.P.S. Why didn't you give her the damn ribbon Sora, that would've been a really sweet moment.

The Stars, The Moon and, The Truth of My Blelifes.
Tumblr media
Bonnie? What do you believe in?
Is the question people often ask me, Like I'm going to spit out something neat, and tidy that'll fit into their little understanding of the world. But that is not me, and not how I live.
My typical simplest answer I give? I am a Polytheist.
But honestly? If you want the full truth, I believe in the stars and the moon.
Not because they are poetic or pretty.
Just kidding that's my light hearted answer when either I know the person asking has a higher possibility of not understanding me. or don't have the energy to get into it, I hit them with this gem. "I believe in the Stars and the Moon."
They usually pause, waiting for me to dive into some mystical explanation about the cosmic energies or Divine lunar guidance. But..nah. I just mean it plain and simple.
The Stars and The Moon are real. The're always there. They are there every single night. Weather you are thriving or crying in your car in a Taco Bell parking lot. You can count on them. They are consistent, and honestly? That's why, I believe in them. Not because of some woo woo magic, but because when I look up, there they are.. doing their thing, like clockwork.
No drama... No judgement.. Just existing.
Tumblr media
Okay lol But if you scratch beneath the surface of my sarcastic, funny answer there is more to it. While I do and don't believe in The Stars and The Moon in a witchy way, I do believe in consistency and cycles and they embody that perfectly.
When everything else feels shaky, I know they're there. That's comforting in a way that's almost spiritual. And while I don't worship the Stars or think The Moon is my therapist, I do feel a kind of respect for them. They are timeless , Ancient. The Stars and the Moon have been around since long before you or me; and they'll be there long after.
Tumblr media
MY SPIRITUALITY
In a nutshell? I am a Polytheist. I believe in God.. God's, Goddesses.. in forces and enrgies bigger than us. I see divinity in the cycles of life, in the balance of nature, in the spaces where opposites meet and create something new.
But I'm not here to tell you, that I have all the answers. I don't My beliefs are not about rigid dogma or trying to fit myself into someone else's mold. They are about what feels true to m. And what feels true is this... The Divine is in everything and.. everything is connected.
I am drawn to the tangible. The real. Things like the stars and the moon that I can see, feel and know. They remind me that while life is chaotic, there is still a rhythm to it all. That even when everything feels uncertain there is something constant to hold onto.
Why This Works For Me
The stars and The Moon might seem like odd thing to belive in, but they symbolize something bigger, for me. They are my shorthand for faith in the reliable, the steady, the enduring. I don't need to complicate it with rituals or elaborate explanations. I believe because they are there. Because they have always been there. And because they do not need to prove themselves to anyone...Just like me.

Personality
Vesper is imaginative, sharp, and driven. She channels her creativity into her work, always looking for the next bold idea or innovative design. Her career is a point of pride, and she’s incredibly disciplined, having risen to the top of her field. Despite her success, she’s still recovering from the emotional blow of her divorce, which has stirred up feelings of betrayal, loss, and anger. Vesper has a fiery side that’s been suppressed for too long, and now, in her post-divorce life, she’s rediscovering herself, allowing her wild, rebellious energy to come to the forefront. She can be calculating and cunning, especially with her current fixation on revenge. At the same time, she’s protective of her children and values independence. Beneath her strong exterior, Vesper is vulnerable and healing, determined to reclaim her identity.
In a Nutshell
Vesper, born in the UK, always stood out due to her creativity and imagination, though this led to years of bullying and isolation throughout her childhood. With an unstable home life and a constant feeling of not fitting in, she found solace in art, discovering her passion at a young age. Eager to escape, Vesper moved to the U.S. to attend the California Institute of the Arts, where she flourished academically and personally, meeting her future husband. They married after two years together, and she had her first child shortly after. Vesper continued her studies, eventually transferring to Parsons in New York, where she graduated with a degree in communication design. Her talent landed her a job at Marc Jacobs, and she steadily built a successful career, eventually becoming the Creative Director at Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. Despite her professional achievements, Vesper's personal life began to unravel after 25 years of marriage. She suspected her husband of infidelity, and by the next January (2024), he filed for divorce, taking nearly everything. Starting over, Vesper moved into a loft in Manhattan, reclaiming her maiden name and focusing on rebuilding herself after years of being defined by her role as his wife. Recently, she discovered her ex-husband's new relationship and, fueled by jealousy and anger, decided to get revenge. Vesper’s journey from a misunderstood and isolated child to a powerful, creative force underscores her resilience, even as she navigates the emotional fallout of betrayal and reinvention.
Headcanons
Vesper likely has a signature fragrance, Tom Ford’s Tuscan Leather, it’s classic but bold, a mix of leather, amber, and patchouli. She keeps a scrapbook or mood board from her early days in design school, filled with doodles and fashion cutouts, a glimpse into her creative mind. Vesper also keeps handwritten journals where she sketches designs and writes down her thoughts, ideas, and even personal reflections. These journals are deeply private, and no one else has access to them. After the divorce, she has trouble sleeping, often staying up late sketching designs, her thoughts consumed by both work and revenge. Vesper is now obsessed with fitness and health, taking up yoga and Pilates as ways to center herself amidst the emotional turmoil. She also has an affinity for crystals and keeps a small collection at home to help with stress relief and focus. She isn’t overly spiritual, but she believes in the power of energy. She has a small circle of friends, mostly other high-powered women in the fashion industry, and is learning to rebuild her social life, although she is wary of who to trust. Her new loft is minimalist yet stylish, with a lot of black-and-white décor and pops of color from art pieces and plants.
Wanted Connections
Eldest Daughter: Vesper’s eldest daughter, now in her mid-twenties (25) has a complex relationship with her. She’s a creative like her parents but chose a different path other than design and music tech, something that allows her to express her individuality. Their relationship was a little strained, with the daughter feeling a bit neglected during Vesper’s intense career-building years, but they have since grown closer now that she is out of college and working in the industry herself. Following the divorce and finding out her father is dating someone only a few years older than her, she is struggling with her feelings about all of it and is unsure of what to think about it. Ex-Husband: Vesper’s ex-husband is a once-charming figure in the audio industry, having majored in music technology and initially thriving in his career, working on sound design for films. Their marriage, founded on shared dreams and creativity, began to crumble as Vesper’s career in design flourished and he struggled with jealousy and insecurity. Following their divorce, he finds himself grappling with feelings of inadequacy while trying to maintain a cordial relationship for the sake of their children. Their dynamic is characterized by a blend of lingering affection and unresolved bitterness, with Vesper reclaiming her independence and forcing him to confront his regrets. Their interactions are often charged, oscillating between nostalgic warmth and raw tension, complicating Vesper’s emotional journey as she moves forward. Colleague/Best Friend: A close friend or coworker in the fashion industry who has been by her side for years. This person is her confidant, someone who has watched Vesper rise to the top but also witnessed the cracks forming in her marriage. They might have even warned her about her husband’s infidelity or are now supporting her through her revenge schemes. Rival: Another Creative Director or designer who’s been both a friend and a foe throughout Vesper’s career. This person has always envied her position, and now that she’s a bit shaken post-divorce, they’re circling, waiting to take advantage of her vulnerability, whether professionally or personally. Mentor/Father Figure: The former creative director at Marc Jacobs, now retired, who played a pivotal role in Vesper’s career rise. He recognized her talents early on and took her under his wing, teaching her the ropes of the fashion industry. They have a strong bond, with him acting as a father figure. In her post-divorce life, she looks to him for guidance and/or he offers Vesper opportunities to explore new creative ventures. Therapist: During the divorce process, Vesper sought out therapy to navigate her complex emotions and her sense of loss. She still goes to therapy now post-divorce. Her doctor helps Vesper work through her feelings of betrayal, insecurity, and the struggle of finding her identity outside of her career and marriage. This relationship provides insight into Vesper’s internal world, showing her emotional growth as she rediscovers herself. New Love Interest: Someone Vesper meets unexpectedly; maybe at one of the bars her ex-husband’s new girlfriend frequents (where Vesper was stalking trying to run into her naturally) or through a work-related event. This person, who could be any gender, represents a fresh start for Vesper. They’re confident, supportive, and unafraid of Vesper’s ambition and strength. They help her rediscover her capacity for love, but at a pace that feels safe and empowering.

The little girl took the two perfectly fitting and symmetrical halves of the pomegranate in her hands, unsure of what to do. She then decided to separate them gently, letting copious drops of sweet and sour and vermilion juice stain the white Flanders tablecloth with which the table was set. The woman stretched languidly, awakened by the little girl's diligence, looking at her questioningly and then with greater indulgence and availability. Waking up suddenly had cost her a lot but she understood the curiosity of that woman in a nutshell and she decided to please her. She took a few dance steps to stretch her numb limbs on the chiaroscuro of the damask tablecloth, letting herself be guided by imaginary music and by the genuine pleasure of those childish eyes full of intelligence intent on following her every move with interest. She showed off all the resourcefulness she possessed in walking the square perimeter of the plane on which she rested, being careful not to slip further, towards unexplored depths and heights. She continued, stopping in front of the very shiny and green leaf of a ripe orange, testing its consistency by trying to swing lightly, her hands firmly on the stem, and the little girl thought back to lazy summer days spent half asleep intertwining her fingers in the links of a hammock away from the vague taste of saltiness and smiled at her. She then decided to offer her the juicy pulp of a ripe grape and the woman gratefully accepted. Together they savored its unpretentious sweetness for a long time and in silence; then the mysterious creature agreed to climb into the palm of that plump and friendly hand to be examined with the same precision as a scientist intent on observing under the microscope a precious and tiny organism placed carefully on a slide: the long and very straight hair, with a silky. The pink and compact skin of the face. The amber eyes, mobile and expressive. A sinuous and soft female body barely veiled by a dress of translucent consistency which made the little girl think of the very thin skin of a grape she had just tasted. A perfect and lovable fairy, similar to the many fairy-tale creatures she knew and loved in the hours of absolute and complete solitude spent in avid reading of pages and pages of timeless stories. For a long time they remained there together, sparing with words, communicating a world of ideas and sensations through the subtle and expressive nuances of their looks until a sudden and unexpected noise made them both jump, with the unpleasant perception of having just been caught. flagrantly. The Persian of the house slyly observed his young mistress from below, rubbing himself against a shapely leg of the table, pondering the next move to make. The fairy raised her index finger to her mouth asking for silence and complicity and the little girl delicately decided to leave it where she had discovered it for the first time that day, next to the transparent and reddish grains of the fruit that was her home and waited her. Her other nodded with a light smile, allowing herself to be gracefully enclosed in her golden prison. The little girl looked at the two halves now perfectly welded for a long time and she said nothing. Then, with an authoritative manner, she turned to her old playmate, inviting him to follow her into the garden as always. Of that magical and unrepeatable afternoon, only a few crimson drops remained on the violated whiteness of a festive tablecloth and a distracted and lazy but strangely satisfying air offered by the sun and the garbino through the window open on a unique and special Sunday in December. Had trouble re-blogging this post from titanicnerd-blog in response to my bedtime story post, so I have copied it here. Honestly, I think it's just brilliant!
@patientlibrarian I’ve got it:

Brighten Your Space with Stylish and Affordable LED Lights
Tumblr media
LED lights have transformed the way we brighten our homes, workspaces, and public areas. They’re efficient, durable, and incredibly versatile, making them a go-to choice for anyone wanting to cut costs and make eco-friendly decisions. If you’re in Jaipur, LED light manufacturers in Jaipur are creating innovative lighting that caters to all kinds of needs. Let’s explore why LEDs are so loved, their benefits, and how they can refresh your environment.
What Makes LEDs Stand Out?
LEDs, or Light-Emitting Diodes, are a significant leap from the old incandescent bulbs. They use far less power, often slashing energy use by up to 80% while delivering the same, or even better, glow. This translates to smaller electricity bills, which is always a plus. Additionally, they last for a long time, so you won’t need to constantly replace bulbs. LED light manufacturers in Jaipur provide a variety of options, from soft, warm lights for cosy evenings to bright ones for focused tasks.
Another big win? LEDs are kind to the planet. Unlike fluorescent bulbs, they’re free of nasty chemicals like mercury, and their low energy consumption eases the load on power grids. Whether you’re lighting a tiny apartment or a large office, LEDs are a practical, green solution.
Perfect for Any Setting
LEDs shine when it comes to flexibility. Want a calm, inviting atmosphere in your lounge? Choose warm-toned LEDs. Need crisp, clear light for your desk or kitchen? Cool white LEDs are ideal. They come in all sorts of strips, panels, classic bulbs, even smart lights you can tweak with an app. This makes them great for everything from home makeovers to garden lighting.
While upgrading, don’t skip the small touches that boost both look and function. Pairing LEDs with modern switches can tie it all together. In Jaipur, you can buy electrical switches in Jaipur to match your vibe, whether that’s sleek and modern or timeless and traditional.
Savings That Last
Let’s get to the numbers. LEDs might cost a bit more at first, but they’re a bargain over time. A single LED bulb can keep shining for up to 25,000 hours, that’s over 20 years with a few hours of daily use! Compare that to old-school bulbs, which fizzle out after about 1,000 hours. Add in their energy efficiency, and your bills will noticeably drop. For those in Jaipur, choosing LEDs from reliable LED light manufacturers in Jaipur guarantees quality and long-term savings.
Simple to Set Up
Switching to LEDs is super easy. Most fit right into standard sockets, so no need to mess with your wiring. If you’re going for a bigger upgrade, like smart lighting or new fixtures, consider the extras. For instance, you can buy electrical switches in Jaipur to complement your LEDs, with options like dimmers to adjust the mood or task at hand.
Lighting the Way Forward
LEDs keep evolving. From bulbs that sync with your smart home to tough outdoor lights that handle any weather, they’re packed with possibilities. They also stay cool, making them safer by reducing fire risks. For anyone aiming to modernise, LEDs blend practicality with flair in a way that’s tough to match.
In a nutshell, LED lights are a straightforward choice for brighter, more affordable, and environmentally friendly illumination. Whether you’re in Jaipur or elsewhere, they’re a simple upgrade with a big impact. Why not check out what’s available? Grab some high-quality LEDs from local suppliers, and consider adding a few stylish switches to watch your space transform. Your home and your budget will feel the difference.
