So basically, they just got together. They aren't really public yet, but some people know. And the people who know are happy for them (they swear they are!) but, honestly, they think they should break up because it's a bad look for the Hokage to date a former terrorist.

Then, someone, probably the elders, out their relationship and the public and media are just invading their everyday life and asking invasive questions.

They're on the verge of breaking up. Mostly out of guilt. Neither wants the other to put up with all this BS.

But before either of them can have that talk with the other, Oro asks Sasuke, "You're really gonna let them win? Thought I taught you better than that."

With that, Sasuke is like "fuck this" and doubles down on dating Kakashi. He gets asked dumb questions and just replies with," I don't see why that's important. There's x going on and I don't see anyone talking about it."

He either channels his inner Kimi Räikkönen or just gives nonsense answers.

The media gets bored of that quickly and they move on to the next "scandal."

Okay I was scrolling through the Hollysugar tag after some screenshots from a yuriful trailer popped up on my FYP, and I saw someone begging that Hollysugar be not toxic and able to be healthy, and that ‘Holly is forgiving’ and cursing out Shadowvanilla. What’s funny is 1. This was worded in such a way that it made it seem like OP though Pure Vanilla was also complicit in Shadowvanilla’s toxicity for… fighting back against Shadow Milk (I knew it… PV was the true manipulator all along… oh yeah it’s all coming together…) and 2… why can’t women be toxic, op? Huh???? Why can’t we have our well-deserved toxic yuri??? What do you, hate women???? /lh

So I'm reading a new fanfic, and Ingenium just saved Dabi from being mugged, and their interaction was so cute (despite the fic being tagged Dabi/Hawks and this likely being their only interaction in the fic) and now i cant help but pretty please beg you for:

When Tenya saw the burns, he worried. Why did Tensei have burns on his neck? Why did he seem embarrassed when Tenya asked?

Tensei never was embaresses about work injuries. Why did Tensei just brush it off?

Tenya worried a lot about this. He asked Uncle Shouta who just snorted and said ‘it’s soulmate stuff kid’ which didn't make SENSE because how did burns relate to soulmates? Tensei’s soulmate mark was on his arm- a flower made out of blue flames.

How did burns relate to it?

Uncle Hizashi just snorted and said Tenya would know when he was older while Aunt Nemuti bit her lip till it bled. It wasn't fair! What was going on?

Tenya was frustrated by this, going to school at UA was a bit of a relief since his mind wasn't absorbed by what was going on.

If course that's when he figured it out. Ashido let out a vulgar sound when she spotted a classmate with a bruise similar to the burbs on Tensei’s neck. “Nice hickey Jirou!” Ashido teased the earjack girl who went very red.

“Why didn't you tell me you found your soulmate?” Tenya demanded of Tensei later.

“It’s complicated,” was all Tensei said. Tenya huffed, not happy. But he was distracted by the fact Midoriya’s soulmate was revealed to be an engine outlined in green lightning, matching Tenya’s.

It was only after Tensei was attacked. After their parents finally showed up to pretend to be the perfect parents for the camera before they left again.

After a charred body identified as Stain by the amount of evidence pinned to his chest was found.

Tensei didnt flinch hearing that. He closed his eyes instead.

Tenya didn't ask. He simply sat beside his brother and pretended that the window hadn't been shut the night before only to be open when Tenya got there. That the burns on Tensei were old and not fresh.

Top 5 Arthur episodes?

D.W. Goes to Washington: It's a very close race between this one and #2, but I gave the edge to this one because almost every line here is classic. It's full of hilarious Imagine Spots and great D.W. zingers.

The Rat Who Came to Dinner: Another episode that's full of great jokes. The dynamic between Ratburn and Arthur's family is comedy gold.

The Contest: The pastiches of different animation styles alone puts this one in the top five, but it's also in service of some wonderfully absurd mini-stories with classic jokes. ("My brain was on cruise control" is the Arthur quote that gets the most use in daily life).

Buster Hits the Books: The pastiches of the different books are hilarious.

Arthur's Almost Boring Day: I had a very tough time choosing the fifth episode. I went with this one because the fighting between Arthur and D.W. reaches a hilarious fever pitch that goes beyond any other episode.

so this is one that's mostly just a Neat Concept but i really like it and i want to make it a novella when i have the time.

an inconsiderate god is about a girl with auditory hallucinations (the 'affliction of voices') who starts hearing the voice of a god who isn't of her people. and she knows it's a god and not one of her voices, because her voices speak her language, and they don't do things like make her teeth vibrate or her hair go iridescent

and she tries to tell this god it has the wrong person, please find someone else, but it either doesn't understand or doesn't listen - so she sets out on a journey to the country she works out it's from to give them their fuckin god back

it's the kind of story i need to do a lot of research for, what with the protag having auditory hallucinations which i notably do not have, but it's also very compelling. i love a good bit of possession story, and i also love a determined protagonist who is like 'no, otherworldly entity, i am not putting up! with you bullshit!'

im also enamoured of the idea because it feels novella-sized, which is a rare size of idea for me to have

i have all these vague notions in my head for scenes where they're struggling to communicate with each other - it lends a strong layer of conflict to a story that by nature isn't going to have a large cast to otherwise cause any.

That's an interesting conversation! Jean's story says only the most distinguished knights are given her title. The description of Favonius Sword (about "Wolf Pup" and "Lion of Light") says that "Wolf" and "Lion" titles are reserved for those with the greatest potential for leadership, who will "one day" become Grand Master. That was 500 years ago, so I don't know that it's a hard rule or still the primary usage, but considering it's at least "tradition", current "Wolf" is Grandmaster, and current "Lion" is "Master">"Acting Grandmaster"...

Usually, I'd think it'd make more sense as [current GM has one]->[gives preferred next generation successor other]->[repeats]. Although, Rostam and Arundolyn seem to be the same age if they were friends as kids, so inheriting from each other doesn't make sense. (And Varka seems younger than I thought...) I assume they were named the two most likely? Two top candidates? One or the other, then backup when one quits/dies, then passes the other's title to their own heir? Presumably by previous Grand Master. In that case, I wonder if two people can share an animal at once if one is already GM (since there would have been 3 before Arundolyn took over)? Or if Prev GM didn't have a title? Or if Arundolyn became Lion, then GM, then titled Rostam Wolf himself, officially enshrining him as his most trusted deputy/best knight besides GM (himself)? (<- maybe most likely)

I personally guess it's not enforced as a hard rule of inheritance (could be wrong), and there's probably been Grand Masters who don't have one or got it after, but since it says "would one day", is the current Grand Master expressing their preference for the future. [Speculation] The tradition could have come to prevent the risk of them dying in combat before being able to definitively name their successor, or before the heir they want is qualified, so they name who they want to be put on the career path to succeed them some day? (For example, Arun naming the trusted friend who helps him run the nation as #1 choice to run it in his absence—if we assume *he* gave Rostam the title. Or Jean getting the title at 15, then being put in charge of more and more as she aged) Formally recognizing the person as having those traits and being qualified of character and skill. Then they earn the experience to become one. Even *if* it isn't a hard rule, probably gets dibs if no one else does, is given other opportunities of leadership that would make them next-of-rank like Master Jean and Rostam as his shadow, and probably seen as sus if you try to snatch GM inheritance away from someone "already stamped as suited to it" unless the titled is still very young.

Grand Master is framed by the Fav Sword as something Rostam had the right to experience becoming, but tragically didn't live long enough for the chance. They may or may not have automatic rights to next leadership, but at minimum, socially, citizens probably see it the same way it's framed: something that is supposed to happen for them. They have a hand up getting there, certainly.

Plus, when both Aurndolyn and Rostam died, Venti's ballad implied Mond didn't have a Grand Master. It's possible they didn't have a succession of leadership prepared besides Wolf/Lion, though we can't be sure bc it took out top GM candidates of both Wolf/Lion + Leader/CoLeader + Strongest/2ndStrongest all at once. (Or maybe he just meant the chaos of GM dying was that bad itself, regardless of how fast he was replaced, idk?)

TLDR: yeah Fav Sword says that's tradition. Tradition at minimum from when the history of the Knight of Boreas was smudged and made into a Fav Title (see: Wolf Fang) to 500 years ago. Could be a hard rule or suggestion, or hard rule for some periods of history and suggestion for others. Maybe we'll find out more when Varka shows up.

Now I'm wondering if 2 people could have the same title at the same time too. Wouldn't it seem a bit bold to announce Jean as a potential grandmaster candidate while Diluc was already a captain for some time? Or maybe these titles are just mere suggestions after all 🤔 there must have also been a time where both titles werent used. If Diluc didn't quit, I figure there would be a bit of an argument as to who should be the acting grandmaster from the crowds

also, Rostam and Arundolyn are usually compared to Kaeya and Diluc, respectively, right? Gosh, maybe we didn't consider Jean and Kaeya in this situation...

But wait, if their titles are technically "Wolfpup" and "Lion of Light", while it coincides with Knight of Boreas and Lionfang, are we sure we could actually interchange them? Could someone in the knights have already received these titles as well? We don't know Diluc's and Kaeya's titles (imagine if they did get these titles, but these titles are kinda lowkey cursed with one leaving and one staying? new angst idea just dropped...)

Oh! I should also probably clarify that I do agree that Jean and Kaeya are each other's first picks right now. Actually, you know what? I'd go as far as to say whoever in the mond trio became acting grandmaster would be paired with another member of the trio automatically

(Okay I'm sorry this length is actually a bit absurd. As you can see my mind is SPINNING and this may have gotten. Out of hand. Please do feel free to ignore me, I promise I won't take it personally 😆😆)

So here’s the thing. In Loki and Sylvie’s first full episode together, I read the nexus event as being Loki experiencing self-love for once in his existence. Until events unfolded and I sighed and resigned myself to the inevitable heterosexuality of fit all. But.

Consider it from Loki’s perspective. You find yourself caring for this person who is and isn’t yourself. And it’s nice, at the end of all things, to care. Then the most emotionally intelligent man you know is insisting you’ve fallen in love with her. And gosh golly gee that is NOT what you thought was going on there, but you’re new to this whole letting yourself care schtick—how would you know?

Then, a miracle—against all the odds in the universe, Mobius decides to trust you after all. To fight by your side.

And within seconds, it gets him killed.

It feels like everything is over, and you don’t understand why. But it isn’t. The world is still falling apart, and Sylvie is still trapped, and whatever the way in which you care for her, you do care. And Mobius—he is dead. And nearly the last thing he said to you was that he thinks the love between you and Sylvie could save the universe. So what else can you do? You have to try. For both of them.

So you go to Sylvie, and it’s hard to get the words out, and it doesn’t feel quite right, but you try to tell her—

Your maybe universe-saving hopefully-actually-true love confession is cut off, and things get a bit wonky after that. And in the meantime there is another miracle—Mobius is alive after all.

But the universe still isn’t saved. And Mobius isn’t dead, but you thought he was, and you’ve been so viscerally reminded that to love is to lose. And anyway—before his seeming death the last thing Mobius said was that if he could go anywhere, it would be to his own life. Those scant moments when it seemed you might move forward side by side were illusion indeed. Mobius has a life of his own, in which you have no part.

So you turn to this other self, and say, ‘will you stay will me, after?’

She isn’t you. But perhaps she’s near enough to stay. No one else will.

Then you have the Sylkie kiss, which frankly imo barely counts as evidence on its own. When Sylvie finds out about Mobius’ nexus event theory she immediately goes to Loki to say ‘yeahhhhhhh so lets not do that bud … hey did you notice how much Mobius cares about you? 😃” Lok got a little confused, but Sylvie doesn’t seem, to me, to ever have thought her feelings for Loki were romantic. And when she kisses him, it’s a betrayal. Giving him what he seems to want as a distraction for the sake of her own ends.

And so he can’t trust her, and she won’t trust him, and there is no safety in running to himself to avert his loneliness. And he kissed her, and the universe isn’t saved.

And the lonely god runs straight on back to Mobius. And he might have still been sorting his head out a bit in the first two eps of s2, yet. He never leaves Mobius’ side again. Not until it is only way to save him. Not until he has spent centuries searching desperately for a way to stay by his side.

Wouldn't dream of ignoring you, absolutely love hearing the thought process people go through while watching or rewatching the show (starting another rewatch of my own soon!) and found myself noticing many of the same things you've mentioned especially regarding Sylvie as a representation of Loki coming to terms with self love for the first time which then led to the actualization of forming the kind of emotional connection and openness with Mobius that romantic love can build on.

Will reply to both parts of your ask here (linking part 1 just in case anyone hasn't seen it) and absolutely believe you're right in that while Loki would've always had potential escape from the methods and mistrust of the TVA in the back of his mind, he was very rapidly starting to separate Mobius from being part of the collective because there were too many genuine moments building between them to ever be in line with what the TVA would normally allow.

The shot in Roxxcart that lingers on Loki watching Mobius walk away after their discussion of trust always stuck with me because at that point I was under the assumption Loki was grappling with awareness the mission could be an opportunity of escape and for the first time didn't actually *want* to leave but had no idea how to process the feelings that had developed from being in a partnership of mutual respect and further taken a hit with the reminder that Mobius is still a major part of the TVA, and no one at the TVA will ever fully trust him.

Funnily enough even though it's kind of a running joke that Mobius had fallen for Loki before they even met (and he absolutely had 😅), the fact that it really was something more always came across as almost subconscious for him?? Loki knew what they had but panicked, never having experienced anything of that level before and not knowing what to do with any of it while Mobius has repressed his feelings about, well, everything for so long just to cope with life at the TVA it's hard for him to picture anything outside their rule.

I never saw Loki taking off after Sylvie as anything more than the chance to escape what could, or in his mind at that moment couldn't, grow with Mobius while taking a perfect opportunity to explore curiosity on his part as to who this is, whether she's useful, and how she connects to being a Loki and from that point on we continue to see in his interactions with Sylvie they mirror each other at various stages of life.

If anything his clear hesitation at leaving Mobius definitely made the betrayal sting that much more, which is why Mobius lashed out so openly during the next interrogation without even bothering to hide his hurt and I've always thought the moment where Mobius calls him out for being a bad friend in front of the guards is when it actually clicks with Loki that he may have ruined something big, something important between them if Mobius is willing to not just admit to them having a real connection in front of people who would almost certainly report something like that but consider him a friend to have trust in for the time in his life. So he risks it all trying to convince Mobius to trust him one more time and thinks he failed like usual, only to have Mobius come back with faith in who he can be, faith Loki doesn't feel he deserves but gladly takes which leads directly to Mobius getting pruned trying to protect him.

And I love how you phrased this section because exactly, Loki is so completely lost and torn apart in a way like never before after watching Mobius die. Sylvie is the only anchor to anything left, and Mobius had just (misguidedly, but still lol) told him the two of them could make a difference so that's exactly what Loki tries to do but every time he attempts to involve some level of emotion like the possible confession before also getting pruned or discussing their nexus event it's immediately cut off and for good reason; because that's not who those feelings are meant for. It's important to note as well that when Sylvie tells Loki how much Mobius cares about him, it isn't brushed aside or joked about but instead allowed to land and breathe in that moment because they know how true it is, but also that Loki isn't ready to face that yet.

Then at the citadel (and didn't s2 go a long way toward erasing pretty much all the implications meant here besides the fact that they'll never see eye to eye 😂) Loki and Sylvie immediately clash, with both of them openly wondering why they can't trust each other. Loki's frustration is clear because if he had been talking to Mobius instead they could take some time so things wouldn't have reached this point but he isn't, so he and Sylvie come to blows.

In my opinion Sylvie had never seen Loki in a romantic light either or even wanted to consider the possibility, but she did notice his constant struggle to reconcile feelings that did exist for Mobius and took advantage as a distraction and mirror to the Roxxcart grocery store divorce which leaves Loki confused and alone, processing what's just happened as he realizes despite everything his trust in Mobius has never wavered and never will. He races towards him only to finally know what it does feel like to look into his eyes and find that trust fully missing, so once he gets his Mobius back he spends almost every moment of s2 as close to his side as possible until he's forced to give him up, but as you said not until he's exhausted centuries seeking a way to stay. It's clear both of their endings are to be left wanting and waiting which is the most tragic way to have Lokius confirmed but we can only hope sooner rather than later they have a chance to work their way back to each other 🥰

Tim's lips leave Daisy's feeling warm, and with poised dramatic steps, he roams onto the elevator, finally turning to her one last time.

"I love you!" She cries, hands and arms utterly helpless as they hug the typewriter close.

Tim smirks— "I know." They hold eye contact through the very last second, all the way until the doors break their line of sight and the elevator begins its descent.

A strange, guttural, chittering noise escapes Brian's throat, until he coughs it away. "Sorry, allergies. The dust—"

"No, I know, Brian," Daisy assures, "'S alright."

He bounces on his heels. "So are— are you two, erm..." His hand gestures around his chin— "You two really a couple now?"

Daisy's expression hardens, before a realization hits. An "Oh!" preludes her laughter, which would sound forced if it were coming out of anyone else's mouth. "B-because we? Oh ho, no, no no no, that was just a reference! Y'know, Star Wars. The scene where— no, you've seen it." With her hands occupied by the heavy contraption, her impassioned gesturing comes through in erratic sways of her whole body instead. She wiggles her head back and forth, seemingly pleased; "Just a tiddly bit between friends, yeah? Mates. Chaps. He likes to do it whenever he descends. Elevators, escalators— one time he did it down the stairs, but he completely toppled because he, um... went down backwards!"

Brian's eyes narrow: "The whole exchange?"
