ainsley kelly is the classic youngest child--the baby of the family who can seemingly do no wrong and is used to always getting what she wants. 

though none of the kelly girls were coddled by their parents, ainsley has always come the closest to it

since she always gets away with things in the eyes of her parents (sometimes letting others take the blame...) she’s developed a bit of a god-complex

she’s been an overachiever her whole life, from learning to talk and read before the average benchmarks (and more notably, at a younger age than her sisters had) to never getting a final grade any lower than an A- throughout high school (AP classes too, obviously.)

she was the captain of her high school cross country team and continued to thrive at the sport throughout her undergrad years at ucla. 

while ainsley’s success was majorly due to her natural talents and abilities, some of it could definitely be attributed to the way she’s perfected the art of sucking up to whoever she needed to, most frequently her parents, teachers, coaches...people who could help her get ahead. (but never her sisters, they don’t fall for that bullshit) 

because while she’s able to lay on the charm and the sweetness and the always present and pleasant smile when important adults are around, most of her peers know that she’s kind of a bitch, to put it simply. 

when ainsley doesn’t like someone or something, she has no filter and doesn’t hold back. she’s really never afraid to speak her mind, which isn’t always a bad thing.

she’s also overindulgent in more ways than one. definitely a partier and always in search of a good time in whatever form; shots of flavored vodka, hot girls, drugs, you name it...remember that god-complex?

honestly? ainsley doesn’t really care about school or the achievements or the family business she was always destined to end up at, following in her sisters’ footsteps. she just knows what her parents want and expect of her, and she’s a master at appeasing them. 

which is why she did what kelly’s do and went into civil engineering for school, and she’s currently in the master's program at ucla...the very same program as her much older sister astrid.

she currently holds an internship at kelly properties, working on a project supervised by her eldest sister aria, and also wherever else she’s needed in the firm.

hello folks, i’m here to introduce you to the chaotic mess that is reagan. like this if you wanna plot!

reagan grew up with their birth parents in westchester new york. their home life was pretty hectic, as they were one of at least 6 kids in their house at a time. their parents were foster parents & them & their younger sister were the only biological kids they had. 

the constant coming & going of kids of different ages was overwhelming for young reagan. they tried to stay away from it all & lock themselves in their room with some eyeshadow pallets & books, but when they were a teenager things got a little different. they were sharing a room with a 17 year old girl who had just come out of rehab. the two of them ended up getting very close, but when the girl relapsed it was hard for reagan, who looked up to her, to not follow suit. they started partying with the older girl & soon enough the two of them found themselves in a lot of trouble. 

reagan & her were arrested for possession. reagan’s parents bailed them out, but not the foster sibling. they were upset & angry, so the 15 year old decided to run off with the friends they had met through the girl who was now in prison. 

they lived in a tiny apartment in the bronx with people who took advantage of them (& misgendered them) for about a year. the only positive experience they got out of that time was they were taught how to drive. they got by with doing freelance work for small makeup companies & selling drugs. after the year was up, reagan decided they was too good for the group of hedonists they found themselves with & left with the money they earned.

reagan spent their time couch surfing around new york city for the next few years. they didn’t have much when it came to belongings other than their makeup kits & favorite clothes. they always seemed to have a chill attitude about their situation though, & you’d never know how depressed they were by talking to them. 

they kept doing what they always had - odd jobs here & there, hopefully some of which were legal or makeup related. when they were 22 their friend convinced them to start trying to work in the film & television industry. their style was a bit more eccentric than what those people would want, they thought, but soon enough they were hired to work on a movie filming in new york. 

they did such an impressive job that the company they were hired by offered them a permanent position if they moved to LA. without much thinking, they did just that.

now, reagan lives in a fairly-nice LA apartment making their living off of film, television, & magazine shoots. they’re pretty content but of course, they’re still a pretty hard partier. they try to be careful with their appearances because of the nature of their job, but they fail at resisting the temptation of staying out at a club until 5 am on a thursday.

*BACKGROUND;

°✮ - Born in Rose Hill, Sutton, England. A small roundabout town, very quaint part of the countryside. ( population, minimal... which meant everybody knew everyone ... and all of their business. ) it made the woman grow custom to being very laid back, and friendly in nature. she was a fearless child. most radical adventures were taken with her best friend, her older sibling, harper. the ellwood sisters braided each others hair on their favorite tree in their back yard. ( the tree had been broken down from a lightening storm. the two ate picnics there everyday... usually with bread harper stole from artie .. the local baker.. ) but the children would chatter over tommy. a neighbourhood boy who would often chase the girls and tug at their braids. tommy also grew up with the girls hanging around the country club while their fathers played golf together.  ( their mothers drinking wine and gossiping together. ) the three of them grew to be a mischievous version of musketeers. Sloan swore to her sister, with rolled eyes, that ‘thomas’ was only tugging and chasing at them, because he wanted his own batch of their cooties. 

°✮ - When the girls grew older, Harper began to tie the bottom of her Academy buttoned shirt into a way that made it apparent she was beginning to blossom, while Sloan made it a responsibility to study her brain away. after school the girls helped work at their mothers small trinket and candy shop in the square. Sloan began to take a mothering role over her sister, even though she was the younger one. harper would get into all sorts of trouble, sloan always covering for her and picking up the pieces. 

°✮ - the two both attended college. harper barely making it, having struggled in and out of drug use. ( something sloan hadn’t tampered with. ) her sister became a successful cardiologist, and she a teacher. as college neared to an end, it was announced that thomas and harper were dating, and not shortly- to be married. it was slightly, and quietly alarming to sloan. she always thought thomas had been in love with her - though jealousy wasn’t within her over the matter. she could have cared less. she never grew particular to men, and thomas had been the first she confided in with being attracted to women. 

°✮ - a few of years later; sloan was teaching. there was a contentment traveling consistently with her life. she had even a serious relationship, moved in and all.. until the tragic news of her sister came through. drugs. pills. narcotics. anti-depressants. harper was struggling beneath everyone’s noses.. and with every memory and bit of sisterhood the two sisters had together.. sloan was left with nothing but a note. suicide. 

°✮ - it was entirely hard to process. digest. sloan hit a wall completely with it all. she began to slip into a struggle with alcoholism. there wasn’t a focal point that it was an issue until the woman lost her job because of it. what a complete, utter fool she had made of herself. rehabilitation was just as tough.. it brought her to face her problems head on, rather than to sweep them beneath the rug.. or drown them in liquor. 

°✮ - taking a hefty amount of time to recover... and after her father had passed over time.. sloan needed to get out. england had become a land of suffocation. too many painful reminders of dark areas she so badly wanted to shed light on, but couldn’t. her mother pushed her to not worry about her. to take care of herself. that was always the importance. - and so she did. where did lost people go ? los angeles seemed like one of those experimental places that people made picturesque. why not. 

°✮ - after moving to california, it wasn’t much after until sloan landed herself a teaching job. relationships hadn’t stuck much, and frankly, she wondered if she wanted something bigger in life. thomas, had agreed to the insane idea of being a sperm donor. twice. now with having two daughters, ( ages 4, and 6,) thomas lives in england. a part time dad. quite the conversation to explain it to her children..but sloan hadn’t trusted any man other than tom... and some weird part of her felt her sister would want that connection. 

°✮ - retrograde nights happen sparsely. other teachers from sloans place of work often try to pull her out of the house, and away from children. it was always necessary to invest in relationships that just weren’t with teaching children all day... then going home to continue dealing with children. her hands were allowed to not be full all the time. THOUGH, sloan never allows herself anything more, or anything other than TWO glasses of wine. - and it isn’t often. her control is in a solid grasp, however, it is all sometimes.. triggering. she’s polite though, doesn’t mind if others drink liquor, or excessively. if she’d uncomfortable, she will just lightly excuse herself.

°✮ - loves to bake with her children. - is very into them helping in the kitchen, ( under supervision, ) every night cooking means the radio on, and the three of them dancing around the kitchen island. most likely to 80′s pop, sinatra/fitzgerald. 

°✮ -  they have a cockerspaniel his name is artie.. yes, after the baker back home who harper used to steal bread from.

amberly, who always goes by amber, is your typical eldest sister who seems to live every day wanting to make sure everything is perfect and safe for her family. though she's not entirely related to them by blood, she had only been a year old when her mother married mr. morning, so life with the morning's is the only thing she's ever known and one thing she'll always be grateful for. mr. morning never made her feel like the 'other child', instead she grew close to him while growing up, always following him around wherever he went and doing the things he always did around the house. the only time she stopped was when her mother finally put her foot down and told her to stay out of her step father's business when she accidentally hammered her thumb at the tender age of 3 and, well, you don't really argue with a heavily pregnant woman. 

doesn't mean she didn't try sneaking around. 

regardless of her sneaking, she did grow to love staying in the kitchen with her mother because she still got to get as messy in it, but with flour and oil and water and everything that her mother used to bake for them. it was a good compromise and alternative to hammering around in mr. morning's tool shed. her love for baking became a huge part of her life that schooling became unnecessary for amber. while not really struggling with her studies, amber found herself caring more for the welfare of her family especially her only sister who went through some troubles with her mental health, and it is because of this that she develops a dream to have her own bakery someday to be able to help her sister, which is thankfully supported by her family. 

after graduating high school, she enrols in a two-year training for bakers in colorado where she also met her ex-fiance. the following years were relatively kind to amber. she managed to establish a name for herself within their neighborhood, accepting orders from close friends and acquaintances, earning just enough money to be able to live independently with her ex-fiance. it's almost as if everything was going all too well, until the year her sister left colorado to live somewhere else came. it's as if nik's departure was the catalyst for everything else that went wrong. amber found out that her ex-fiance had been cheating on her, evoking an anger that she'd never seen before from mr. morning, and the next day, she had a pregnancy scare that pretty much convinced her that a life with her ex was not something she'd ever want for herself. so amber stops her business, avoiding interaction with anyone as much as she can, and allowed her parents to take care of her while she's trying to find herself again after so many years of being with her ex. two years later, she bade her parents goodbye and decided that the ultimate proof of moving on was leaving colorado. 

thankfully, home is where the heart is and nicolette just happens to be in los angeles.

ABOUT LAVENDER PIERCE: 

lavender was born in new york city, new york and she had big breams of being famous. she had grown up watching big brother, and it was kind of her life goal to be on the show. she dropped out of her junior year as soon as she turned 21, she immediately applied to be on big brother and made it.

she was the ultimate example of the ‘would you rather be loved and lose or hated and win?” she played a dirty game, probably best compared to a mix of frankie grande, aaryn gries (minus the racist part) and jackson michie (again…minus the racist part)

immediately post her big brother win, even though she was deeply hated by the media, she was offered a position on the bachelor. she was essentially demi burnett, and continued the trend of doing anything to get to the top but turned it down just a little. she showed a more human side to her on the bachelor, considering it was a totally different kind of show. america started to grow a bit more fond of her, especially since some didn’t see her demon form on big brother.

she went on to be next season’s bachelorette, which was controversial but ABC couldn’t lose the opportunity to have someone with so much discourse (both good and bad) surrounding her.

shit hit the fan that season of the bachelorette, much like colton’s fence jumping scandal of bachelor 23, lav quit the show during the final 3 to come out as lesbian. this blew up bachelor nation and social media as a whole…..

now she’s grasping for any way to stay relevant, found her little corner of fame in youtube, and is essentially tana mongeau at this point lmaoooo.

maggie grew up in portland, oregon. it was okay nothing remarkable happened. 

her parents had her young-ish and then had her younger brother late-ish. they are poor planners but what can you do?

in high school she fell super hard for her best friend sara and by some force of god she loved maggie back. they dated pretty secretly through their late teens -- sara’s parents were conservative and maggie just didn’t want people in her business (bc people have a tendency to ruin things, let’s be honest).

she enlisted in the army as soon as she turned 18, spurred by heartbreak and a desire to get as far away from portland as she could. sara would try to contact her at first but all attempts would go unanswered.

Local, messy, generally kind of nightmare child. She’s super flakey, and holds absolutely everyone to the standard of paying attention to her when she needs it. Kind of like a stray cat tbh, she’ll wander off for weeks at a time and show up at your doorstep three weeks later like it’s not weird. (And can probably be lured in with food.)

Currently a bartender at Retrograde, but really and truly can’t hold down a job to save her life. She’s been bartending at her current gig for six months, which is a record. On a similar note, terrible with money. Don’t lend it to her, you’ll never see it again and she’ll forget it wasn’t hers to begin with.

Parental issues left and right. Her mom still lives in town, but Andy dodges her calls like they’re a pathogenic disease. (To be fair, the conversations usually either end, or begin, with her mother asking for money. Like mother like daughter, though the last time someone dared to say that to her, it ended in a fight and another lost job.) She doesn’t know who her dad is, but if Andy is asked, she makes up a new person each time. A traveling salesman. A convicted murderer. A prince of a country in Europe that has a population of 112 people. Just depends on the day.

Growing up, she and her mother bounced from one tiny apartment to the next, ended up on the street or in shelters a time or two when they couldn’t find a couch to crash on when money was short. * — like every other child born in beverly hills, astrid comes from an influential family; the kellys made their money a hundred years ago during the rise of downtown Los Angeles.

* — she’s prone to mood swings because of this, oftentimes causing a ruckus by yelling and throwing things. 

* — her third year of undergrad, she was caught dealing adderral pills that she’d gotten falsely prescribed to her. this got her kicked out of her sorority, which resulted in her father lecturing her and threatening to cut her off entirely.

If you ask her what her profession is she’ll confidently say she’s an artist, even though she’s sold three paintings in her entire life. True life: she’s a waitress and not even a particularly good one.

⋆ to this day, her mother owns a gourmet cake shop in the city lydia was born and raised within, ( Annapolis, Maryland. ) - lydia took a liking to growing up being a helping hand to her mother. the entrepreneur bolt of ambition ran through lydia as well. after a confusing assortment of schooling journeys, she put a business degree to use. now being an adult, lydia is a proud owner of her own cafe back in maryland. her sisters, two in which are baristas, and the other a baker, lydia has found it the heart of where she is most at peace. - maybe it has something to do with the warm aromas of coffee….

⋆  moving to california at best a joke. who doesn’t like their fair share of laughter ?? - reality had bitten, and lyd’s closest of friends were practically exhausted from seeing her reject all company that wasn’t platonic. faith didn’t reside on putting herself on the market — or whatever the hell that meant. in honesty, dating made her a nervous wreck. - anyone would see it on her cheeks, amplified with a crimson stain of embarrassment. moving to the sunny state was induced solely on freedom... and the case of an ex, someone who she said goodbye to ten years ago... but was goodbye REALLY forever ?? 

⋆   truth is, lydia flows with whatever current her life is in, not taking things too seriously. at the end of the day, she takes care of herself. - but the moment she feels a shift in her emotions, anger, love, deep sadness, … she feels them heavily. - the woman likes to present herself with shoulders pushed back just as collected as her father … but she is soft. delicate as her mother.

⋆ los angeles was quite the adjustment, but over time, lydia comforted herself into residency. dipping into expansion, she allowed her mother to manage the cafe back home, allowing herself to fully spread her wings on opening a fresh cafe in the heart of california. Right across from Retrograde, lydia opened Brewphoria. an eclectic, cafe that also cozies the home of many books. there are poetry readings, vinyl spins, study groups and other warming groups held from time to time!  - ( conveniently, lyd lives up above the cafe. )

here’s a story old as time: man meets woman; man marries woman. man cheats on woman, and has a child by his mistress.

officially, aria was adopted into the kelly family the day she was born: a closed adoption, in which neither the father nor the mother’s identity were disclosed -- for all intents and purposes, it was a charitable act by the kelly’s, everything above water. but look a little closer, and see the arch of her brow and the slant of her cheek, and one might find that she looks a little more familial than an unrelated adopted child can be expected to be.

the first of three sisters ( astrid, and their youngest sister, ainsley ), aria has never had a moment to simply just be a child, despite only being two years older than astrid; such is the burden of girls who simply had the misfortune of being born first.

it was always: ariella, look after your sister or ariella, what sort of example do you think that sets for your sisters? or ariella, you’re a big girl, and big girls don’t behave like that.

though, she thinks, even given the chance to be a kid, would she have ever taken it anyway? she’s always had a chip on her shoulder, and the world to prove something to.

she’s worked hard at everything in her life, desperate to be the paragon of perfection that would prove her as a worthy kelly, desperate for approval and admiration. But no one really notices the things that go smoothly, do they now? it’s standard for packages to arrive in two days; people only care when it takes longer. time and time again, attention and efforts were focused on her younger siblings.

she deviated from the kelly’s usual fare of business, architecture, and civil engineering to get her bachelors in electrical engineering (perhaps a slight rebellion, to see if maybe someone would notice, but she will neither confirm nor deny), and then a doctorate in computer science. still unfulfilled, she moved on to petitioning her father to take kelly properties a new route in accordance with her own major: to invest in a cutting edge graphical user interface that allowed unprecedented, more client interaction -- to invest in her.

delighted, their father started hammering out a brand new position for her within the firm, and the rest was history. 

one would think it would be enough, being so young and already holding a cushy, prestigious position within the family business, but even still, she feels like she’s missing something.

youngest daughter of a business tycoon from australia.
