oh, i want this story to be resuscitated at some point in the future of tf. it's able to reveal prowl (and bluestreak btw!!) so well, add depth to his pure hatred of the decepticons. come on, give this guy at least one truly emotional backstory, please!

jazz and the mantle of leadership

prowl is the only one with whom jazz is able to loosen his control a bit and show his emotions (not feelings. that shit stays inside him and no one will ever know the truth) and jazz is the only one with whom prowl tries to control his temper, behaves softly and carefully, supports in difficult situations. prowl genuinely tries to help jazz, he sees him as a living being, not as an elements of one of his plans

i like that this story focused on jazz as optimus' replacement. i see different characters in different situations as the autobots' sic, here in my opinion the most interesting option was selected. idw prowl is not good at leading people. he can manage them, give orders, strategy, tactics, that's what he's really good at, but inspiring a crowd and making them follow him is not his thing. not just because he's usually an asshole and half of the army wants to punch him in the face, no :D jazz is just much more suited for this. he's not just a popular bot, not just the soul of every company, he knows how to make others do what he wants, he knows when to be softer and when to be harder, how to put people in their place, he knows how to behave in public, he created an amazing image of himself and he always follows it to the bit. but all of these is only on the outside, deep inside he's insecure, he's afraid, lost and he doesn't want this responsibility, he doesn't see himself as a leader (no one but optimus prime has the right to be) and prowl tries to prove the opposite to him. they complement each other, cover their weaknesses and in tandem they work just perfect

when a completely non-spontaneous, calculated, thoughtful character suddenly changes their usual behaviour and pulls some weird tricks and their partner who is not used to this kind of things gets totally confused and shocked by the situation >>>

Pale and Innocent✨

The idea was a long time ago, and the theory was written in January, so I give my valentine to all of you and a little reflection on Pale and Innocence🎶🪩🎶❤️

In order to begin my theory about the Innocence , it is necessary to recall the structure of the  Pale and how it works, because the  Innocence and the Pale are one and the same - the generation of humanity's activity in the world of Elysium. 

 Pale is a mist that has no clear external forms. It is achromatic, having no colour, taste, smell or sound (questionable because of the Pale transducer, a similar device Ruby had). The  Pale represents all of humanity's time and the space in which it was, is and will be (all of each person's memories and events). 

The area of transition between the world and the Pale is called the ‘edge collapse’: a Pale mist with a cold vapour that is known to harbour a unique form of fungal microorganisms. The  Pale is difficult to describe and measure, as it is something whose fundamental property is to affect all organisms: their physical properties, and their mental ones. The further into the  Pale, the more it affects all living things. It is capable of distorting and altering non-living matter as well, down to numbers and figures.  For clarity I will describe what will happen when falling into the  Pale, many people staying in it risk going mad: first they forget everyday trifles, and later their own name, memories of who they were and what they lived. Further, when the human brain is trapped in this trap of existence, it begins to deteriorate. The spinal cord and the whole nervous system is destroyed after it. After that, the rest of the body ‘crumbles’, making it impossible to find corpses in the Pale. 

From the information in the game we know that there are already created ships with the help of which you can travel between isolas, as well as special radio stations in the Pale to send signals and coordinates of various transports (in addition to ships it can be motocarets, helicopters, etc.). Also at this point in Elysium, it is possible to travel through the Pale, but no more than six days per year (the long stay effect I described above). 

According to my theory, because of the frequent travelling between Isols, people get hit by the radiation of the  Pale on a regular basis. And even after such people find themselves far away from its effects, they are still connected to it.  This is supported by examples of characters from the game (the same trucker or Izzy from ‘Flavour’, as well as Joyce's story about Volta do Mar).

The nature of the Pale is largely unknown to the humanity of Elysium. However, according to the ending of the book - the Pale appeared because of sins: stupidity and greed of all mankind. However, as we know, any coin has two sides, and if one side has all human sins, the other side has all human virtues, and in this case it is the Innocence. 

Innocence is the physical embodiment of virtue. People who become Innocence are the major historical figures in the world, literally deities. Innocence traditionally assumes supreme rule over the world at large. The Innocence is elected by the Founder's Party; this has only happened six times in world history. 

According to the Party, everything the Innocence do and say is law.  They deserve this respect because of their influence over time and space, (whereas in the  Pale we can only look at memories and live our past, the Innocence are able to create the future). It is said that it is an honour and glory to live when one is in power. Innocence does not usually use its power through military might. It is considered unnecessary. Innocence wins because it simply cannot lose.

The legal system of the Real Belt is built from the ground up to adapt to the rule of the Innocents. The decisions of the Innocence apply equally in all countries.

There are only six Innocents in the history of the world:

Pericarnassus, the first Innocence. Little is known about her.

Franconegro, 500 years before Our Age. Considered a militaristic Innocence and the strongest among them.

Dolores Dei, 300 BC. She created many modern institutions, organised successful expeditions, even voiced criticism of the innocence system. Her beauty and inhumanity are also widely recognised. Dolores Dei is considered the greatest Innocence in the current century.

Sola, crowned in the last century. Considered the Anti-Innocence due to her unwillingness to impose her will on the world.

 Each of the six Innocence has movements of followers. For example, those who share the beliefs of Dolores Dei are called Doloreans. Their churches are places of worship for the life and ideals of Dolores. People believe that the Innocences can work miracles.

Besides the true Innocence, there have also been a few False Innocence in history - those who believed they possessed the qualities of Innocence. Sometimes they had the support of a faction within the church organisation. The most famous and important of these was Erno Pasternak. He became famous in history for his torture, despotism, and desire to conquer the world. He was eventually destroyed by Stepan the Despicable of Cedra, for all the nobility of his deed he never became an Innocence.  

Why? 

They just don't get elected on the politicians' side (as a tool). Because of this, there are no Innocents in ‘53: the Coalition is simply not profitable, because altruistic motives are less reliable than money or the Coalition itself. It follows that an ordinary person can't become  an Innocence through their deeds alone - you have to get recognition from the people or the Party to do so. 

There are hints in the game about the non-human nature of the Innocences. For example, when Harry is talking to the Encyclopaedia, the reason for Dolores' murder is described.

There have also been theories that Harry is the new Innocence, just because of the case of amnesia and the ability to talk to his emotions, organs, and the city itself, but unfortunately this is not the case. The Innocence can't forget who they are, unlike Harry. They were also notable for some larger actions: discovering other isolas, uniting nations, etc.

These abilities are more akin to the Pales, and perhaps the voices in his head are just thoughts of his dead alter ego in the past, which makes sense. The female voice, which is Dora's voice, talks about everything that will happen in the future, possibly to guide Harry. (We won't wait for the second part of the game, though, so maybe not to guide...)

This led me to a hypothesis, the idea being that people who have been exposed to the  Pale can control it. When playing the game, this is confirmed by the periodic tests that Harry must pass. He can pass them by improving one or more parts of his personality.  (See the picture below). Another person who has encountered the Pale is a trucker whose ability is to move into the bodies of people who have lived in the past, present or will live in the future.

What if there is a person who can control the bodies of people who are possessed by the Pale?  

If there was Sola, who said to rely on ourselves and not on the Innocence, then I think there are people in the world of Elysium who can master the Pale enough to control not only certain memories of people, but also their bodies. Maybe there is such a ‘sanitiser’ in the world of Elysium, who can introduce souls and lost memories into the bodies of people who have lost them.

To summarise my peculiar research, we can say that in the near future there will be no Innocence in the world of Elysium.  Most likely the world will be improved by those people who were able to rediscover themselves, and even surpass them. As Kim Kitsuragi said....death is life again, beyond the world is pale, beyond the pale is the world again.

— What are your thoughts after finishing the first day?

Honestly, I'm surprised to be surrounded by even more people now than when I won the World Championships twice (laughs). But setting that aside (laughs), we created this ice show from scratch, and it wouldn't have reached this level of quality through my efforts alone. I received so much support from so many people. And it wasn't just business-related support—people went above and beyond, doing more than what was required.

There are only seven of us performing this show, and it's that very fact—being just seven—that made it both possible and extremely difficult. But everyone stuck with it until the end, and because of that, we were able to have an incredible opening day.

Also, this kind of demanding ice show is really hard to get through physically, but the applause and cheers from the audience kept us going. Of course, we’re doing this to entertain everyone, but their applause and cheers made it enjoyable for us, too. I feel like we created a true win-win show.

— Was there a particularly memorable number or program?

After finishing, I was reflecting, and I’d say Ice Brave had no real "rest" moments. We put a lot of time and effort into every part of it. While I’m the main skater, the other six aren’t just supporting cast or ensemble. I think of them as equal teammates. So there’s no single highlight—I can proudly say, “All of it.”

— You had an ice dance scene with Marin Honda as well.

Doing it made me realize how different ice dance is from singles. I could only apply about 10–20% of the skills I developed in singles—it was really tough. It wasn’t just a collaboration piece; since this was my first time producing an ice show, I wanted to try new challenges and create something that stood on its own as a complete program.

I’m confident I can grow even more, but I also feel proud of how hard I worked. The applause felt like praise for all the practice I’ve done up until now (smiles). With singles, it was always about how much time you put into a program and what result you got. Of course, there were nerves back then too, but you rarely get moments where you hear that kind of cheering and applause. It felt amazing to skate today.

— How did it feel to open the show in your hometown, Aichi?

Even as I was exiting the rink, I felt so grateful that so many people came to watch. We held long rehearsals to deliver something truly special to the audience. Since this was my first time doing so many things, there were lots of mistakes, lots of trial and error. But thanks to a lot of help, we managed to create something wonderful.

For me to be able to say it was “wonderful” means I gave everything I could right now. Doing this show at Morikoro Park, a familiar place… ah, I’m no good (laughs). I’m too exhausted to speak fluently right now, sorry (laughs).

— Were there any programs you felt you were able to brush up since your competitive days?

The concept of the show was centered around my competitive programs. It’s about me in the present revisiting those past pieces. We even had a land-based dancer do some choreography, which pushed me into areas I hadn’t explored before. Since I’ve spent every day honing my skating skills, I decided to take on the things I’d been neglecting.

Ice Brave was created as the first step into that journey. I don’t know if I’m really answering your question, but every piece has its own memories—like “this was super hard, so let’s have Stéphane (Lambiel) do it” (laughs), or Boléro, which I finally felt came together after a year, so I saved it for the end. See You Again is super old, but it’s a good program.

Looking back at all the different styles I’ve done, I’ve discovered what I’m good at and what I struggle with. I also gained experience in how to teach programs I’m not even skating in myself, which was a valuable learning experience.

— Do you ever feel nostalgic for your competitive career?

Not at all (laughs). Honestly, when I was competing in singles, it always felt like I was being chased every day—that intensity was great in its own way. It’s not that I miss or don’t miss being active, but rather, skating alone felt lonely. I skated Loco (Balada para un Loco) solo, but I really enjoy working together with others, building something in the same direction. After today’s opening night, I felt like I now find more fulfillment and joy in that shared experience.

— How did Stéphane Lambiel’s skating look to you?

Stéphane is 40 now, right? And he’s incredibly energetic! The quality of his performance at 40 is amazing. I mean, he’s doing the programs I used to do as a competitive skater (laughs). That’s seriously impressive.

Before he joined us, we were all working hard, but once he did, everything lit up. It became a space full of laughter—and also, rehearsals stopped progressing (laughs). Half-joking, half-serious (laughs). But that’s how fun the space became.

Even though he jokes around, he picks things up quickly and puts in real effort. You can really see his determination to make the show great, even if it means pushing himself. He’s more than just a coach—he’s more like a close friend, and that’s how I’ve always seen him.

— When did you start practicing ice dance?

Around October of last year, I changed skates and started from there. Not every day, but I practiced when I could. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to include one ice dance piece in the show, so I made that request early on.

— Why did you choose Loco (Balada para un Loco) as a solo, and Legends as a duet with Lambiel?

For Loco, well… half the reason is that I liked the piece back when I was competing. I knew I wouldn’t be able to recreate the same quality right now, but I thought maybe I could bring out a different version that’s unique to who I am today.

Since Ice Brave is a show that traces my journey, I wanted to include programs that viewers have emotional connections to. Some were ones that left strong impressions; others were programs I struggled with, and that’s why I chose Loco.

As for Legends, I’m not sure—it just had a good reputation (wry smile). I’ve heard people say they liked it, but I can’t view myself objectively, so I don’t know how “great” it really is. But I’ve received positive feedback from others, including fellow skaters, so I figured, “Well, let’s include it.”

We were also considering skating Gravity together, but… ah, you can tell I’m struggling to talk about things I don’t feel strongly about (laughs). Through a process of elimination, and because it’s a good and popular program, we decided, “This works, right?” Something like that. Sorry (laughs).

— Any interest in returning to competition through ice dance?

When we decided to do ice dance, I didn’t want it to be seen as just a collaboration piece, so getting questions like this actually makes us happy.

What I’ve realized through trying ice dance is that everyone’s level is really high—it’s an incredible discipline. I don’t mean this in a disrespectful way, but I hope we can continue to build something that’s truly great as a pair in this show, to the point where we could be seen as real ice dancers.

— Who leads during ice dance? Do you call out to each other?

Not really. Especially during spins. Seriously, it’s harder than it looks. Just doing one rotation is a challenge. I hope people can understand just how difficult it is. It’s really tough. Everything easily goes off alignment.

— Who taught you ice dance?

(Kenji) Miyamoto-sensei used to do ice dance, so he taught us. We also learned bits and pieces from various people when we could. Kazuki Kushida had dabbled in ice dance too, so we asked him some things as well. That’s how it went.

how to manage a manifesting generator: these people need a lot of stimulation- they are very go-go-go energied so just let them do their thing. let them do a lot physically and mentally so they can properly deplete their energy daily. they need freedom to do what they want, so do your best to not get in their way - let them experience new things don't stress over it being the wrong move. they need to learn for themselves what is good and bad for them. try to make it their idea and not solely yours.

When Jin met Noriel, they immediately warmed up to each other and were quick to become friends. She loves his jokes and puns and genuinely finds him funny. He thinks of her as his little sister and strives to take care of her. After he found out about her allergies, he along with the rest of the older members, he became very careful and watchful of food when it came to her. They love to cook together and she helped teach him the vegan alternatives to their recipes. They both took on the role of the main cooks for the group.

Together they make up WWH and WWB.

When they spend time together, they are playing video games, fishing, or cooking together.

It took a while for Yoongi and Noriel to get close. Yoongi is not one to show his emotions a lot and came off as cold to Noriel. On the other hand, Noriel is like a golden retriever and had too much energy for him. He thought she was just there to play games and make friends, so he tended to ignore her and casted her off as an airhead. It wasn't until after he saw how far she was pushing herself that he started to let her in. After Yoongi started opening up to her, she started softening up towards him as well. Nowadays, they are the closest pair of the group

When they spend time together, they are creating music, playing basketball, or taking cat naps.

Hoseok is the first person of BTS that Noriel met. She was practicing in one of the open dance rooms when they met. He was really impressed by her talent and, as time went on, her passion for dancing. Hobi was her first friend in Korea and she attached herself to him the minute he showed her kindness. Hoseok is her favorite person to ever exist and she will gladly throw hands to defend him. Hoseok adores Noriel and thinks of her as one of his best friends. They love to spend time together and love to make the people around them happy. They are each others biggest supporters and are the sunshines of the group.

When they spend time together, it is normally goofing off in the dance rooms and creating music together.

Namjoon is the member who Noriel thinks of as a superhuman. She thinks it is impossible to be as smart and as talented as Namjoon is. She really respects him and wishes to be half as cool as he is. He tries so hard to get her to just sit still and relax. It never works out for him. He was really happy to have another person to speak English to and they study together when they have Western interviews coming up. Namjoon is her biggest defender when it comes to the people who hate her due to not being fully Korean, or being too tan. Noriel looks up to Namjoon and always names him as one of her role models.

When they spend time together, they love going on bike rides and shopping for books.

When Jimin met Noriel, they instantly clicked. They both gushed over each other's talent and were happy to start practicing together. They are the flirty and dirty minded members of the group. They seem to hold a competition where they try to get the other one to get flustered first (Noriel always wins). When Jimin goes through a hard time when it comes to food and his weight, she made sure to cook healthy meals for him but does not nag him. She shows him that she cares silently and he appreciates her care. Jimin is always there for her when she's going through a hard time. He is one of her biggest supporters and is always happy to see her being accepted as a member of BTS.

When they spend time together, they love to dance with each other, go out to eat, and just hang around chilling with each other.

Taehyung and Noriel were both hidden members with each other. So while the other members got to make vlogs and post them online, Tae and Nori also created vlogs to feel included and spent a lot of time with each other filming. While they don't have much in common when it comes to personality, they both got along very well with each other. She views him as a close friend adores being around him as he brings her joy and happiness with just his presence. Tae looks up to Noriel for her perseverance and loves the energy she radiates. When Taehyung is being funny or out there, Noriel just joins him to cause more mayhem.

When they spend time together, they tend to visit amusement parks, zoo, or aquariums.

It took a while for these two to get along with each other. Noriel thought that he avoided her because he didn't like her and Jungkook avoided her because she made him nervous. They both love dancing, singing, and playing sports. They tend to be referred to as "The Twins" due to sharing a birthday and how much they have in common. They are both very protective of each other and will do anything to keep the other from pain.

I'm working on a series of books. I have character arcs and the series storyline nailed down. Where I'm struggling is figuring out what plot in book 1 will best support my plans for later books. Book 1 is the foundation the rest will build from. What advice do you have to best figure out the beginning of a series when you have a clearer idea for the middle and ending?

Stuck Plotting Book One in a Series

First, I think it might be helpful at this point not to think of your series as individual stories, but rather as one cohesive story that you'll eventually break up into individual books as the story unfolds. That way, you're just figuring out the beginning of the story rather than thinking of it as a story contained within a book.

Next, remember that stories revolve around conflict, or in other words a problem in the character's self or world that needs to be solved. When you eventually break the bigger story into its individual parts, each one will revolve around its own conflict. The resolution of that conflict should play a role in setting off the events of the next book. For example, the conflict in The Hunger Games was the event itself, and the fact that Katniss needed to survive it so she could continue to take care of her mom and sister. Because of what she did to win the Hunger Games (thus resolving the conflict), President Snow called a Quarter Quell to force her and Peeta back into the arena, which is the conflict of the second book, Catching Fire.

This is why it's so important to figure out your first book's conflict and--if you already know the conflict that will be at the heart of later books--how it relates. You can probably reverse engineer the first book's conflict based on what needs to launch the conflict of book two.

I would suggest using a story structure template/beat sheet to map out the events of your first book. This will help you get a better picture of what needs to happen, which will help you figure out how everything connects to later books. I suggest some options in my post Creating a Detailed Story Outline.

hello anon! I'd be glad to give you an overview and some tips for starting out! :D

Time Princess is what happens when all your childhood dreams of getting transported into a book come true.

At heart, the game is a set of continual isekai stories, transporting you to different "books" with the help of a magic desk and giving you "create your own adventure" options to see how the story plays out.

Your fairy companion Isabelle helps you learn the ropes, and you have to go through one mandatory book (a Marie Antoinette themed story) to get access to your room and the larger bookstore

(I'll put the rest under a read more bc it'll get long)

For each chapter you complete, you earn 1-3 tickets. With these tickets, you can unlock new books! The more you play, the more you earn towards new stories.

The game currency works on a coins and diamonds system--you don't NEED to purchase anything to play (though it may make the game a bit easier in some areas)

You get free stamina to access books and crafting materials every 11 hours and the Time Princess discord server has codes pretty frequently for diamonds, tickets, etc.

I personally splurge for the Fashion Booster every 2 months because I know it helps support the game and the artists! I try not to use real money on the random outfits unless I REALLY want one bc it can get addictive.

One of my favorite parts of the game is that, as you play, you unlock "album" art (full color illustrations that tie into the story!!)

One other thing I love is that the game is very targeted towards Bisexuals, as there are TONS of queer wlw story lines (though because of the games' popularity overseas and censorship, often gets called "best friends" etc)

Another fun part is the variety of stories!!!! There's art history!! There's stuff based on old fairy tales like Swan Lake. There's fantasy stories like The Apothecary. There's a Pirate story!!! There's Chinese, Japanese, and Korean stories. There's a western cowboy story! There's futuristic scifi!!! There's a victorian flavored horror story!!!

Most, if not all, of the stories are with adult characters and have adult storylines!! (the books will also give you a content warning before downloading)

On top of the stories, there's plenty of other fun aspects--mini games, fashion challenges, checking in with your companions every day to earn crafting materials, joining a society, playing events, and just playing dress up with your outfits and taking pics for fun.

The discord community is great too, and there's often interview nights with some of the book authors and giveaways of materials and prizes (I actually ended up winning a plushie Lafayette one time!)

The discord server also has game guides and walkthroughs for everything!

Everyone who plays the game gets really into the stories and characters, so even though the tumblr presence of fans may be smaller, you have an immediate bond with the other players!!!

They've also done some really cool collabs with museums like The Louvre and the Flamenco museum. You get to earn clothes from famous paintings or historical ones during that event period!

Finally, don't forget to save your big clothing crafting for Saturdays! You get double the materials!!

About FK's GF rumour. Actually, in my logic non delulu mind, i always think that no ship is actually a real couple. Looking back on 'Force sniffing incident' in LOL, i believe he wouldn't dare to do that if the boys are a thing. However, i do admit that FK's queer vibes are really strong. And i think they're the only couple from that company who're trying really hard to be paired (for whatever motives are). So yeah, sometimes i let my delulu mind win.

So, the rumour really shook me a little (or more hehe). Not because the boys have GF, but because i feel ashamed and a bit angry at myself as i let my intrusive mind win. After resting for days from chaos, i came to the conclusion that whatever they do will be a double-edged sword. If they acknowledge the GF some fans may go and be questioning their motive (especially that forehead kiss and love song in LOL 2025). But, if they actually come out as a real couple...i don't think this BL industry is really space for them and I personally will retreat myself.

In the end, whether the rumour is true or not i feel that their bonds really special. They really want to protect and help each other to be in a better place, be a better person, better performers, better actors. And i choose to keep standing with them till they themselves say enough. Also, I believe in Book, Joong, P'Dorn who really fond of them. It'd be waste such a precious talent. So, I'll enjoy the ride when it lasts (with more mindful mind).

And about shifting in First 'fanservice'. Looking back to old videos, he's kinda an annoying flirty person actually (yes i feel u Khaotung! haha). But somehow had to restrain himself after becoming an official ship. After Kant, really happy to see he can be more confident in his own skin. If i were him, of course I'd also speak a lot of sweet adorable words for Khaotung who always support him going through all up and down together.

Thank you so much for this message. Honestly this is exactly what I also thought. I know how hard it can be to express yourself freely on twitter. There’s constant drama over the smallest things and it can get pretty bad. I've seen that there was fans bullying other fans at their latest event. So I really relate to everything you shared.

I also try to stay logical about things. I don't think most CPs are actually together. I think this industry sells this fantasy and the shipping dynamic often works because of their chemistry, friendship, and the acting too. But if they secretly hated each other and still managed to pull this off...that would take some serious acting skills. Because unlike regular actors, CPs can't fake it just on screen, their public personas are part of the whole package. It’s different from hollywood actors, where you can have great on-screen chemistry and then do interviews separately because the job ends there, and you can just feel how some co-stars can't stand each other. The Force sniffing incident made me laugh. I kind of have a theory about that too. Just like you said, the way literally everyone around them teases them (Book, Joong, Dorn, Jojo everyone they ever worked with) always made me think their bond must be more than just friendship. I still think that’s true today, what they have is something special. But I also had the thought after the rumors that maybe it’s easier to tease them like that if they’re both in secure relationships? Like maybe it wouldn’t be as lighthearted if they were actually involved with each other? I don’t know. devastator is the oldest combiner of the current era. he takes pride in, enjoys, and is very confident about both his construction work and his destructive capabilities, and gets very mad when either gets questioned. also gets really mad when his stuff gets destroyed. acts as the unofficial leader of the trio and is the main one handling communications with the rest of the cons. has very complicated feelings about the previous constructicons: on one hand he's somewhat honoured that he was built from pre-existing mechs that the Decepticons bothered to turn and salvage upon destruction, on the other hand he's not happy that the others are mad at him for things literally older than his existence aka what the Constructicons did prior to their demise. studies the constructicons' previous works and makes it his goal to surpass them. is tired of the other two and really prefers working alone. it helps that he's more often away from their base for construction work. unfortunately he's quite used to returning to a partially destroyed base thanks to the younger guys.

menasor is the second oldest in the trio, but is constantly treated like the youngest. is the only one rebuilt from earth vehicles (while the other two are built from cybertronian stuff), and thus pretends to have a superiority complex to cover up his inferiority complex, as he feels somewhat 'lesser' from not being entirely cybertronian in origin. gets scared easily and usually responds by beating up or at least kicking whatever scared him, something that the other two relentlessly tease him about. is very convinced that the decepticons will eventually scrap him and create new combiners to replace the current trio, and thus is extra stressed about proving himself to be useful, usually by fighting very aggressively and attempting to prove his worth in combat. is more attached to earth culture than he would like to admit. stole a tv from somewhere and enjoys watching various tv shows while refueling.

bruticus was built from stuff the Decepticons found in an abandoned military base on Cybertron. thinks of himself as the smartest mech around. looks down on the other two, and constantly looks for ways to undermine their intelligence much to the other two's chagrin. to be fair, he does have a brilliant strategic mind and has a way with words, enjoying arguing against whoever he can find and winning (usually menasor, devs doesn't have time for him), so his ego is not entirely unwarranted. he is a good fighter but is really annoying about it. loses all composure when he gets really pissed, then he will just start beating something or someone up with no regards to strategy or tactics. in fact, he considers himself too brilliant for even the decepticons, and secretly schemes to take out the other two in the base and strike out on his own. whenever he gets caught doing something suspicious, he just sweet talks his way out of the situation.

these three live together in their own base, separate from the rest of the Decepticons. all three of them have more pride than energon in their bodies. sort of brothers, but definitely reluctant roommates who are forced to deal with each other.

Do you have any recommendations for a Havi, the All-Father deck? I've gotten my mitts on a few nice pieces including Birthing Pod, Sneak Attack, Kamigawa dragons and others, but I'm still kind of iffy on stuff

Well, my first card thought upon re-reading Havi was to go infinite trivially with Saffi Eriksdotter, and yep, after checking EDHRec, it seems people are doing that. Beyond her, Havi seems to have quite the potential for accidental infinites wherever there's a legend with the word "graveyard" on it around him. With a sac outlet or self-saccing abilities.

Even not going infinite, I could easily see cascading through different mana values with a sac outlet, and then resetting with a single reanimation spell to multiply it into five of six creatures entering the battlefield and leaving it again, getting value at every step of the way.

That does sound awesome, but to live that dream would also require quite a bit of setup both on the graveyard and battlefield. Much more than it would to just go infinite. Birthing Pod and Sneak Attack would certainly help get there, and even partial successes would be quite neat. Thankfully a bunch of the cards used to set up wouldn't be bad cards per se.

Generally speaking, it'll be a balancing act between cards that work towards enabling Havi to be the star, and legendary creatures that are just around to do the brunt of the work the rest of the time, the majority of the time. Legendary creatures should probably be the focus in general, the historic part of Havi is pretty minor overall. Ideally Legendary creatures that have ETBs, and that are spread in mana cost. Quite a task!

I would expect these to be primary sac outlets for the deck, Altar can fill your graveyard to enable silliness, and Blasting Station progresses you towards a win if you start going off, while also being generally useful to keep up at instant speed with Havi around or not. The mana altars are also useful as altars, but I think this deck won't be as able to use them as these. Greater Good also fills your graveyard while digging through your deck to set you up for a dream, though it can be a bit more awkward to use.

While we're at sacrificing though, I need to mention Herigast. Giving Emerge to all your creatures allows you to chain things together quite well, and can allow you to get Havi earlier too since you can also Emerge your commander. Since it's technically a 9-drop, it can even sac itself to emerge something else with Havi around to reanimate... Pretty much anything else in your deck.

That's more marginal an upgrade, but we just got a Farhaven Elf that's also a legendary creature. I think she immediately finds a slot.

That one is more dependent on your exact deck. If you have enough artifacts for him, Oswald will help you find your key pieces, but I likely wouldn't play him in the typical Havi deck.

A relic from an older time, but even today, very few cards are as effective as Teeg at stopping board wipes, which are in vast majority noncreature spells mana value 4 or more. A few slip through, like Toxic Deluge, but I don't think any exile board wipe does. It will stop people from doing a lot of things, so Teeg isn't popular when on the board, but your deck should be in majority creatures with a few support pieces to avoid his restriction if you run him, which is what you want anyway. Don't have to go full Hatebears, but Teeg as board wipe prevention is likely good enough even then.

I mention these two not only because I love this effect (I do), but because they're counterintuitive. You'd think you wouldn't want copy effects in a deck full of legends, and indeed you usually don't. However, Havi doesn't specify nontoken, so these copy will trigger Havi when they legend rule. Furthermore, they can be used to copy Havi himself, creating two Havi triggers for 6 mana immediately. With Jaxis in specific, you can even Blitz her into play, copy Havi, sac her to an outlet in response, draw a card from Blitz, and potentially use one of the Havi triggers to bring her back (tapped).

I will say, I do not know if they're worth playing. You can get extra etb effects or death triggers out of them if you focus on that, even out of legends, but they can be a bit slow to deploy and wait for an untap.

Putting up Kreat because she's new, but this deck should probably take any Impact Tremors on a legendary creature it can find. Kreat, OG Purphoros, Arbaaz Mir... If the goal is to have things enter and leave in battery, having something to turn that into a win is important.

That's what I have in mind for now, though I'd probably start building this deck by searching for legendary creatures in the colors and going by ascending mana value to try to find stuff.

something thats running in the background of tmc is a shifting real estate dispute going on between neon's dad's company, a yakuza family, all the small businesses ace frequents, municipal authorities, and the construction company michinaga worked for. the set pieces move on their own.

so neon's dad's company is starting to fall apart starting around the end of the second game. part of it is that like four different dudes (individual hotel managers) are embezzling funds, and the other is that his first hotel that he still manages just got a bunch of overdue code violations. so he goes to the dgp for help, they way he always has, and theyre kind of running out of patience and thats why they put neon in as the desastar. like sure if your daughter wins we'll help you. well she didnt win so they dont help him. so he's bleeding money trying to keep his company together. and the dgp is kind of done with him bc they dont have a purpose for him anymore.

another thing that isn't helping is the yakuza group that's been getting territorial bc of ace (but more on that later). theyre feeling threatened so theyre locking down on their turf in terms of both property and racketeering. we get a glimpse of this in chapter 18(?) with the incident at hatake's hotcakes. with the kurama conglomerate on decline, theyre looking to acquire some holdings on the cheap. but theyre also getting major suspicious bc of one ukiyo ace.

so basically the thing that was keeping ace afloat as part of his wish to "live comfortably" was the various restaurants, food stands, and cafes within range of places he frequents. and i do mean Frequents. he considers cooking for himself as a luxury activity. so theres like several nodes of small businesses that he is reliably keeping afloat. in doing this, he's basically shielded ~25 places from being racketeered. some of that is bc he's offered financial help to the business owners, the rest are the reputation of him doing that for places he frequents. now pretty much any place he goes is considered semi-off limits to be safe. bc nobody knows where ace came from or where his loyalties lie. i mean, would you trust a random 21yo who got really famous this year and he suddenly starts making a bunch of financial contributions to the city? is that not fishy?

now to bring it around full circle, ace is very mindful to keep clear of the kurama conglomerate hotels bc thats bad business/privacy hazard (see: neon's account that mr kurama or one of his associates was making money off famous people at their hotels). ace happens to also know about it bc he hooked up with a kurama hotel security manager and the guy insisted they not meet at a kurama hotel. so thats actually the main thing ace knows about the kurama family til he meets neon officially in the first game--he is unsurprised but extremely concerned about her livestreaming at that point. i mean, at that point in time she's constantly broadcasting that she's alone and without support, as well as her exact location, and she's going to be distracted bc she's managing a livestream. created to undo kidnapping thus living as an inversion of it etc.

in the meantime, the company michinaga worked for is not yakuza but its yakuza-friendly (no-questions-asked blueprint to building in short timeframes!). notice how that company got hired for the show ace was on (his influence--he wanted to see michinaga). but previously they were getting jobs from the one yakuza group. but now that ace contracted with them that one time its over. no longer safe. but the company owner doesnt really know about that, he just knows his clientele changed big time after that appearance. he went from running a barely above-board contracting company to getting offers for set construction deals on major tv networks. which would be great, if two of his best guys hadnt vanished mysteriously in the past two years. so hes taking these offers but hes not being forthcoming about the staffing issues (he basically only hires people who fucked up in high school) so his projects are all behind schedule.
