well yes, ivermectin is merely the most recent in a long string of dangerously insane ways to treat covid circulated by republicans who either own stock in the company that makes these things or don't care if every one of their constituents dies

like you're right that this is a confluence of "alternative medicine" and political opportunism, and these communities have been stewing separately for years (one used to be protesting GMOs, the other was doing the tea party. i used to go to the GMO protests, but i was there to protest monsanto's patents, not to talk about crystal healing smdh)
