he's too busy being the World's Best Dad to even rly be aware of the existence of evil teams
bruce in his pkmn verse would 100% go undercover in an organization like rocket to better understand it from the inside out.
lysandre... he has his own shit, and he doesn't care for rocket. it is one of the evils he would like to eradicate.
volo just lmao's at evil teams, get on his level.
leon would never :( he'd join a trainers' club and then only find out after the fact it had a connection to some evil organization because he isn't joining a gang. he barely even has the free time.
#he didnt even find out that rose caused the darkest day until after the fact lmao#too busy going on adventours!

transcript/notes:
subjective art forms- interesting
lookig at social media recommendations, all boring becuase all have been done before lots of times
looked at lots of places that were less featured as tourist attractions
I thought about format and how i would make something that encouraged people to go out and have an adventour and see things they didnt expect too, I thought about scavenger hunts, so the idea of the app would be that you would have to find the signs and places that are secret and visit them, your location would know and tick it off, there would be goals, for example, if you visited so many places you would get vouchers for a local store of something similar to encourage you to also support local businesses, This is gameification which works for geocaching and pokemon go. Additionally, i was thinkning about how to encourage people to collect like a scavenger hunt, you could collect stickers from certain local businesses or also postcards of the locations, you collect one (like lego cards or game cards that people collect) and maybe theyre limited edition. also having a book or map to stick stickers in to fill gaps and having to go into local businesses to collect them, the only issue with this is opening times with shops, however it does enocurage people to go in and look around which may make them more likely to purchase something.
I looked at magazine style/book symbols in order to create elements of interest within my magazine so that its easy to navigate too, I also looked at ways to navigate, I could create a map or also an app that allowed me to put all secret locations on so people can just navigate to where they want to, click on the pin, read it, want to visit just put start directions
I was looking at navigation guides as well as magazines and deciding the best way to have a fusion of the two. some practice layouts
key insights, people want more print less phones, safety, easy travel, guides could be acceptable , people go due to oscial media, have a different outlet of this, people want small guides
thining about making it narrow, using one tube line, or being able to cross with one tube line
feedback and next steps:
Make it even narrower, think less about coffee book, whos the audience

everyone knew how much bakugou katsuki absolutely adored you. bakugou wasnt one to outwardly express feelings for anyone. other classmates had gone through hell for him and he could barely mutter a thank you. in simple terms, he was a dick, and everyone expected his grouchy behavior. but not with you. things were different with you. he was just so open with his admiration and how he would do anything for you. some random guys were checking you out and making you uncomfortable? not on his watch, he beat up those stupid extras and put them in their place. you were craving ramen in the middle of the night. no problem. why else did he have a love for cooking if he couldnt be your personal chef. your wish was literally his command. so when you said you wanted to be more..adventourous in the bedroom, he accepted your request. on one small condition, you were only to include one extra person and he got to chose. the lucky guest was none other than his best friend Kirishima. Kirishima was absolutely thrilled to receive the invitation. he viewed his bakubro as the epitome of manly and couldnt wait to see what that meant in the context of the bedroom.
“theres three rules” started Bakugou.
The three of you were gathered in yours and Bakugous bedroom. originally, you wanted to make the night less awkward by starting with dinner then easing into … you know … the sex. But Bakugou was too impatient. As soon as Kirishima knocked on the door, Bakugou had dragged the two of you into the bedroom (without even properly greeting Kirishima) and got right down to business.
“first things first. you’re here because she wants you to be. You need to understand that whatever she allows you to do is a privilege. So when she says stop, or slow down, you listen, immediately. i don’t care if you’re inside her and one second away from busting. you stop whatever you’re doing or i will rip of your dick alright.”
you rolled your eyes at your boyfriends ridiculous threat, Kirishima was a gentleman and you felt utterly safe with him.
Kirishima simply nodded. This was an obvious and easy rule to follow. Forcing yourself on someone was totally not manly. Besides he was really excited to be here. He was willing to precisely follow every single rule so he could get an invitation to do this again.
“second. i like it rough, so we use the stoplight system to keep each other safe. you familiar with that shitty hair?” questioned Bakugou.
Kirishima proudly nodded his head. This was another easy rule to follow and now he was only one rule away from the fun. He couldn’t wait to get started.
Bakugou gave a brief smirk at his friends eagerness. It was quickly washed away as he began to shake his head, almost like he was disappointed at his friends unclear response.
“I need words Red. Explain the different colors so I can make sure were on the same page” Bakugou said sternly.
Kirishima gulped, weirdly turned on by his friends strictness.
“Um. Green means were good to keep going. That Im enjoying what were doing. Yellow means Im a bit hesitant. We either need to slow down or take a quick break and proceed with caution. Red means stop whatever were doing. That I am uncomfortable or hurt, or just not enjoying it.” replied Kirishima.
Bakugou nodded, satisfied with Kirishimas thoroughness. “Good boy” he said to show Kirishima his approval.
Kirishima almost choked.
“Lastly. In this room, Im in charge. What I say goes. You got that?” Bakugou asked Kirishima.
Kirishima nodded.
Bakugou raised his eyebrow to show he was expecting more. He had just gone over this and wasn’t about to repeat himself. He wasn’t satisfied without verbal consent.
Kirishima quickly caught on to Bakugous verbal cue and began to clear his throat.
“Yes. I understand, sir.” replied Kirishima, quickly falling into the role he was playing tonight.
“The little shit” Bakugou thought to himself. He walked over to a chair that was placed in front of the bed and sat down. He motioned for you and Kirishima to come to the edge of the bed.
“Alright. Now that everything’s established, looks like were good to begin. “
Bakugou reclined in his seat and began to unbuckle his pants.
“Showtime. You two can start kissing” said Bakugou, enjoying his front row seat.

Convention and Carnival
Henry Cavill x Reader
Part 1 (of 2?)
Part 2
Summary: you were alone on a vacation in London and decided to go to a convention where you would meet Henry Cavill and he sees something in you and takes you out on a adventours date
Words: 3K
Warnings: Fluff!!!!!!!
You strolled through a park which was very busy since it was really nice weather. You were on a nice vacation by yourself and you arrived just a day ago. You thought you had a nice hotel but when you got in your room it was everything except nice but you just tried to get over it. You walked towards the convention and walked inside. It was huge and you tried to take everything in. This would be your first time to go to a convention. They were never really your thing but when you heard that the Witcher aka Henry Cavill would be there you couldn’t say no.
You walked towards his photo booth and waited in line. You texted your friend that you were waiting. She was just as exciting as you were. You were nervous to say the least! The line became shorter and shorter. There was a group of girls before you and they were slightly obnoxious. It was their turn and you could see Henry as you waited. They started to hug him in surprise and giggling around him and trying to flirt really hard.
You watched intently as you started to fidget with your rings. You looked up and saw Henry looking right at you. The girls still there and talking really fast to him but he seemed to only have his focus on you. You started to blush and smile shyly which made him smile brightly. It made you even more nervous. The girls started to notice that he didn’t really paid attention to them and huffed as they walked away but not before one of the girls giving her phone number. He stayed polite till they left. When they were gone he threw the paper into the bin which made you chuckle a bit. He noticed that you saw it and chuckled as well.
He made a sign for you to come with a bright smile. It all felt like a fever dream and your legs just started walking without you knowing. Like you were on autopilot. “Hi, what’s your name love?” he asked you. “Hi, I’m Y/n” you told him and he pulled you into a big bear hug. When he pulled away his hands still rested on your arms and he looked at you with a bright smile and made intense eye contact. Normally you felt awkward when someone was making such intense eye contact but this was different because you couldn’t look away from him. there was a long silent. “what pose do you want for the picture?” the photographer asked you, breaking the silence. You started blushing again. You started to think really deep because you didn’t think about that yet. Henry noticed and chuckled. “May I? I know a nice pose.” He asked you. “okay” you answered him and chuckled a little.
He stood behind you and wrapped his arms around you and you felt your stomach do flips. He stood so close as you felt his chest pressed against your back and he smelled so incredible nice it felt like you were in heaven. After the photo was taken he asked you: “ do you want me to sign something darling?” he asked you. You got out the ticket and gave it to him. he turned his back to you and started to sign it. It took a little longer and it looked like he was writing something. He folded the ticket and gave it back to you with a wink.
“it was very nice to meet you Y/N. I hope to see you again soon.” He told you while he gave you a hug. See you again? You thought to yourself. You felt confused because you thought he was flirting with you but you didn’t want to read any signals wrong. He’s probably just polite. “Thank you so much for your time!” you told him and he gave you a sweet smile and a kiss on your cheek which made you fired up. He winked at you and you walked away as your time was up. It did seem like he took more time for you.
You walked towards the booth where you would get the picture. You saw the picture and you felt the rollercoaster in your stomach taking of again. Henry had his arms wrapped around you, standing very close behind you and instead of looking at the camera he looked lovingly at you while you smiled bright in the camera. You had your hands on top of his arms. You didn’t even remember that you did that. You smiled bright at the picture.
You decided to go and enjoy the weather outside. Once you found a quit spot besides a lake you sat down. You took your ticket out of your bag and looked at it. He had wrote a whole note to you. “Dear Y/N, I really do hope to see you again soon. Text me. P.s. You look really cute when you blush like that. You cheered up my day! Love Henry.” And there was his number under the text and his signature. You were surprised to say the least. You decided to just text him. You had nothing to lose, only to win. “Hi it’s Y/n, I loved the picture and I hope to see you too. Love Y/N” you pressed send and waited.
You called your friend immediately and told her everything until you got a call underneath. You hang your friend up and picked up the other call without looking who it was. “Hi Y/N speaking.” You said cheerfully. “Hi love, it’s Henry. I was wondering… I’m off in a hour and wondered if you wanted to hang out.” He asked you and you were gob smacked and stayed silent. “Hello Y/N, You there love?” he asked. You heard nervousness in his voice. You got yourself together. “yeah, yeah I would love that! Ehm where do you want to meet?” you asked him and you heard him take a breath and chuckled a little nervous. “where are you now? If you share your location I’ll come to you, if that is alright with you of course.” He asked you. “yeah no problem! I’ll share my location. See you soon Henry” you told him feeling a little more confident where you didn’t know it came from but you were happy it was there. You heard him chuckle again “see you soon love” he told you. You both hang up and you shared your location with him.
You couldn’t believe what in the world was actually happening. You laid down in the grass and listened to some music and started to write some poetry and draw besides that. When you did that time always flew by. You were really in your own world when you did that. All of a sudden there was a shadow behind you which startled you a little. You chuckled a little when you saw Henry chuckle too. “I’m sorry to startle you.” he told you but looked at you in amusement. “it’s okay. I should be more aware of my surroundings sometimes” you told him a little shy. You still couldn’t believe it. “I eh brought you some coffee. I hope you drink coffee” he chuckled. Henry seemed nervous and you thought it was very cute. “I love coffee, thank you!” he smiled fondly and sat next to you. You couldn’t wipe the smile of your face and you felt your cheeks burn up.
He asked you where you were from and how long you stayed in London for. You both chatted a bit until you locked eyes. at first you couldn’t look away and you felt your stomach do flips. His curls fell just so slightly across his face and his blue eyes held admiration in them his lips plump and don’t get me started on his jawline. You noticed that you were staring and looked away shy and felt your cheeks burn up in embarrassment. “ehm there is this carnival thing going on and I wondered, maybe you want to go with me?” he asked you, hope coating his voice. You looked back at him. “I would love that” you told him. he smiled brightly again and stood up and reached out his hand for you to help you get up. You giggled at the sweet gesture. You both walked towards the carnival and chatted a bit. You started to feel more comfortable and more yourself around him as time passed by. “Can I ask you something?” you asked Henry curious. He looked at you a little surprised that you asked him in the first place. “Of course you can, darling.” You felt your cheeks burn up from the nickname. “Why did you ask me out?” It wasn’t that you were insecure but more curious and Henry seemed to understand that. “Well, first of all, have you seen yourself!? You’re gorgeous!” he chuckled a little and your cheeks hadn’t stopped burning up since the nickname. You chuckled shyly. “No but besides that I find you really attractive… I… I can’t really explain it but there is something about you that I never felt with anyone else. A different sort of connection if you want to call that, and I really like your energy. Like there’s a halo around you with such a comforting vibe which calms me. Believe me when I tell you I’ve never done this with someone else, you know, giving my number and definitely not to a fan but there’s something different about you.” he told you honestly and you were gab smacked at what he all told you. You never expected a answer like that but you weren’t complaining either. “wow thank you. That means a lot! And just to be clear I feel the same thing about you Henry.” You told him. You both had a big shy smile on your faces as you walked further.
Once arrived at the carnival it became a bit darker as the evening came around. You strolled around and found a haunted house. Henry looked at you with an amused smile. You started to feel nervous. “We don’t have to go if you don’t want to.” He told you. You looked at him and felt immediately safer. “Well as long as you stay beside me I’m going to be okay.” “But just know before hand I’ll probably hold on to you!” You told him and he had a big smile on his face. He knew what he was doing and he was playing it very smart. Do things just to get you a little closer to him. “I wouldn’t have it any other way, sweetheart.” He told you and bought 2 tickets and you walked in. He saw you hesitate and he offered his arm to you. You grabbed it very fast and cling to him like your life depended on it. It wasn’t that you didn’t like haunted houses but you knew how you were in one.
Once, when you went with your friends in one, you also clanged to them. In the end there was this scare actor who had his arrows pointed at you, you let go of your friends and you ran out of there, leaving them behind in the process. Luckily they weren’t that scared and they just laughed at you. You held Henry’s arm just a little tighter. “I got you sweetheart, don’t worry.” He told you and puffed out his chest a little more. It didn’t take long for a scare actor to appear as monster with a chainsaw. Out of reaction you hid your face by henry’s arm. Henry laughed and found you so incredibly adorable and cute at the moment it felt like his heart was going to explode. He put his arm around your waist and pushed you ever so slightly closer to him.
The further you both walked the further you got to Henry’s side. You were standing so close to his side that air wasn’t even considered. After not even a minute you got scared again because an actor got in your face and you turned around and just hid in Henry’s chest. Letting your head rest there. He put both of his arms around you and went with his hand over your hair for comfort. You felt yourself becoming calm and safe. He was obviously a bear of a men and you weren’t very tall you could easily hide in his arms. You smelled his cologne and it felt for a moment like you were in heaven until you realized that you were definitely not in heaven! You turned around again. “Are you still okay? If you want to get out we can.” He told you giving you the option. You smiled, but you kind of liked it, and definitely now when you could hold him and touch him. Two can play this game you thought. “No it’s okay. I actually like it, I just get scared easily here” you told him giggling.
He still held you close as you went further. This time Henry got scared which made you giggle at the bear of a men as he clang to your arm this time. He cleared his throat and you thought you saw him blush a little. “I wasn’t prepared.” He told you which made you chuckle a little more. “everyone gets scared sometimes soldier.” You told him playfully which he returned with a mischievous smile. You still had 2 rooms to go before you could get out. Henry puffed out his chest again as he looked at you with a raised eyebrow. “now I’m ready!” he told you which made you laugh. He held you close again. And you did the same which made him laugh whole heartedly. You felt butterflies and felt proud to make him laugh like that. You walked in to the other room and obviously another scare actor came out and started screaming but for a very long time which made it less scary. You both looked at each other and both started laughing a lot. The actor just stood there looking at the both of you laughing. “if you can move just so slightly mate, then we can go further” Henry told him which made you laugh again. You both walked around the actor who just stood there awkward. “Happens to the best” you told him giggling which made Henry laugh again.
The next room was scarier and you held Henry tighter and he kneaded your waist a little to let you know he was there. You both got scared as multiple actors came out and Henry pushed you out of reaction behind him to protect you. When he did that you snapped out of being scared and just felt love taking over. He grabbed your hand and lead you safely out. Once out Henry took a breath which made you giggle. “That was very fun! Thank you” you told him honestly while giggling a little. He chuckled as well.
You strolled again through the carnival. You suddenly felt a big hand softly taking yours. You looked at him a little surprised. “Is this okay?” he asked you? “Yeah…. Yeah it is” you said back. Once you got to the games and raised his eyebrow at you. you chuckled which made him smile mischievous again. “Let’s make it interesting.” You told him and he looked at you in surprise. “Let’s go against each other” you told him and he laughed. “oh now it’s on!” he told you and got behind one of the games. He lost this game and you could search a toy. You saw a superman bear and giggled and told the person that you wanted to have that one. You told Henry to close his eyes so he did. You got the bear and you told Henry that he could open his eyes. You gave him the bear which made him laugh. “Instead of getting the girl something I like to spice it up a bit” you told him and he smiled at you. He found you so refreshing! He knew you were different and he was right. He walked with the bear which made you chuckle. He got an idea.
He held your hand again and walked towards another game. You cheered him on and he won. Now it was your turn to close your eyes. suddenly you felt something heavy, big but a very soft bear. You looked and you saw a that it was the same bear as his but a huge version. You both laughed. “Alright alright you win!” you told him giggling. You both reached a shooting game. He lead you to it. “Can you shoot?” he asked you. “No never learned.” You told him which made him smile big. “Well today you will.” He told you. You stood behind the gun and Henry helped you how to hold it. He stood very close behind you and his head was almost on your shoulder. You felt his chest tightly against your back. There were the butterflies again. You felt his breath against your neck and you smelled his cologne again which all together made your breath hitch. You shot and you immediately hit it right. Henry cheered and gave you a high five. “You chose something” you told him letting him surprise you. once again you got the biggest stuffed bear. “ I’ll hold it for you.” he told you chuckling once he noticed that you were hid behind the two bears in your arms. There was a small band playing and you both looked at each other with the same idea which made you both laugh. You walked towards the band and sat on the grass behind. Henry got you both two bears and gave you one. You smiled grateful at him. He sat next to you and your legs brushed against each other. “Thank you. I’m having a lovely time.” You told him softly. He smiled and looked at your luminated face from the lights. “Thank you for coming with me.” he told you and got you a little closer but you decided to take initiative and moved yourself in front of him between his legs and rested your back slightly to his chest. “Is this okay?” you asked him and this time he felt all the butterflies, like no one ever had made him feel. “I love it” Henry said and gave you a kiss on the top of your head. He pulled you closer to his chest and his arms snook around your middle holding you close to him.

Move *OMAKE* 2
Title: Move *Omake*
Category: Digimon
Pairing: Ami/Arata
Summary: Ami might never see her friends again. Two part chapter taking off my My Birthday Countdown prompt: Move
Disclaimer: I do not owe any rights to the franchise
~~Story Begins~~
Chapter 2
Arata was walking to a lounge the school had, it was connected to the library so he had to go there before he went to the library. It’s been two years since Ami moved and he was always checking his digivice for a message, a sign that she was coming back. He heard footsteps coming closer at a fast paced but he paid it no mind. A lot of the college students were running from paint A to point B. He’s done it a couple of times.
He did turn his head to look at whoever it was because they started walking with him. He saw red hair tied into a regular ponytail, a lady who was panting, a black shirt that had holes exposing the shoulders, a yellow digivice belt was tied around her slim waist where it led to a black skirt that stopped around her mid-thighs, black ballet style shoes covered her feet were black socks were at.
“I’m...so...out...of...shape,” she said in between pants. She looked at up with blue eyes, “Hi!”
“Hello?” Arata questioned. “Can I help you?”
“Yeah, do you know of any good hiding spots?” she asked. “I really could use a break from running away. My legs are feeling like jello!”
“Depends on what exactly you are running away from?”
“Arata!” a new voice yelled belonging to Ryota, a friend he met through Nokia. “Grab her! Don’t let her escape!”
“Shoot,” the female said as she started to run but Arata grabbed her arm and pulled her back. “Let me go! I thought you was a friend!”
Arata raised an eyebrow and went to question it but Ryota arrived and took the female away from him. Arata was still waiting for an explanation.
Ryota had turned the lady to where she was facing him and proceeded to hug her tightly before he spun her around in a tight bear hug. “My dear adventours Ami! It is so good to see you alive and well!” Ryota then leaned over the girl giving her a tighter hug. “How were your adventurous in Canada? Did you meet any moose? Please tell me you me some moose!”
“I can’t breath,” the female said. “Ribcage is penetrating my lungs. Release me at once!”
Ryota released her only to stare at her, “I knew it. You-you didn’t meet any moose? I gave you one task and that was to meet at least one moose for me! I am very disappointed in you Amiella Sakura the Third Aiba. OW!”
Ryota fell to his knees clutching his stomach, Arata just stared completely clueless expect that he now knew that the female was Ami who looked mad. “What did I say about my full name, Ryota? I don’t have one, Ami Aiba works perfectly well.” She turned towards Arata. “You heard nothing!”
Arata raised his hands up in surrender. “Sorry, I was too busy spacing out.”
Ami smiled, “Good, however I’m still mad at you! You didn’t recognize me.”
Arata grabbed her arm and started pulling her away from Ryota who was slowly getting up. “I wasn’t expecting you to wear all black plus not send us a message.”
“I figured a surprise would be best,” Ami said.
“Still want the hiding spot?”
“Yes, please.”
“Than follow me, it’s that not that far away but we can lose Ryota if we run.”
“Lead the way, please.”
Ami and Arata were sitting in a small and dark path that was between two buildings. Ami was rubbing her tired legs that gave out on her once Arata said they were there.
“So, Amella Sakura the -” Arata started to say but grimace when he felt a sharp elbow to his side. “Ow.”
“Shut up, shut up. I’m getting that changed tomorrow. Not dealing with another year of that name that my blasted father gave me when he was high and mom was still recovering from labor,” Ami said glaring at him. “It’s just going to be Ami Aiba.”
Arata chuckled, “Welcome home.”
“Thank you,” Ami said with a smile.
“Ami!” Ryota yelled.
“Stay quiet and he won’t find us,” Arata whispered into her ear. They watched Ryota ran past them looking everywhere for them.
Ami was never more happy to be back home in Japan than what she was is now.

𝙿𝚎𝚊𝚔
𝙰 𝙿𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚘𝚗𝚊𝚕 𝙴𝚜𝚜𝚊𝚢 𝚋𝚢 𝙿𝚎𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝙱𝚕𝚊𝚌𝚔
Today’s the day, I get to see my Dad's face again, an event that occurs once or twice every year. Days like these would be more anticipated than any birthday, fiesta, or even an event like Christmas would be overshadowed. This was a special day where I got to see my dad, but little did I know, this was also going to be the day that would mark the beginning of an adventure. I was in the waiting area at the airport, and with how summers are in the Philippines, it was raining—of course. Mom and I were patiently waiting, saw a Philippine Airlines plane land in the runway and I wondered if it was him, He previously sent a photo of his ticket, had Philippine Airlines on his ticket, it must be him. The gates were opened and the exit was quickly flooded with people, the classic joke of “oh your father’s here” came to mind when I saw a few white men come out, realized I couldn’t make the joke and quickly dismissed it. We waited for a few minutes and voila, I see my dad! Jet-lagged out of his mind from the connecting flights he took from Madagascar to Hong Kong, to Manila, and then finally to Davao.
Welcome, home dad. We’re happy to see you.
We drove home, unpacked his bags, and readied for dinner. I poured him a glass of wine, and we talked about what was it like working in Madagascar. He talked about how the poor the country was, cars were scarce, roads were horrible, people were difficult, and how he couldn’t go much for a walk, even though Madagascar did have a few mountains and hills to walk up to, He was located in a relatively flat area, and so good walks were scarce. Dad’s a guy who would appreciate a challenging hike/walk for good exercise but also a sense of accomplishment. Could go for a walk-up Eden, a place near us which has an elevation of 811 meters, a pretty decent climb. Talked to him about it and planned to walk up there once he’s recovered from the jet lag, but another Idea came to mind—what if we hike up to the top of Mt. Apo He said that it would be difficult for him, to put it into perspective, Mt. Apo is the Philippines highest peak, at 2,954 meters in elevation. “Why not,” we ask ourselves—and so we concluded to hang on to the idea of climbing up Mt. Apo. We walk up Eden at least four times a week for a week to prepare our bodies for the trek we were about to partake. Found a guide to help us reach the top of Mt. Apo, His name was Nelson, he runs a tour business where he would tour people around the Philippines, leading them to some memorable adventures, “Adventours” as he called it, he calls his clients “Adventourists”, Nelson has peaked this mountain twenty times already, and he’s not planning on stopping anytime soon. The day soon approaches, and my mom is having second thoughts about the trip, my dad's 65 years old, and she thinks it’s too much for him. Dad’s quick to relieve mom of worries by telling her that we’ve prepared properly for this trip but also, we could get some porters if ever we find carrying our equipment to be difficult.
The day has come, we left at the brisk of dawn with excitement—and with fear tucked deep in us. We have coffee and went on our jolly way up. On the first hour, it was already very challenging, steep and muddy climbs seem like it poured the previous day, our boots are being sucked into the ground, we exert more energy and effort just to climb a few meters every minute. My pack’s 18 kilograms and my dad’s a 5-kilogram pack, porters are on the ready just in case we find difficulty in carrying our load. Our guide, Nelson went through like it was nothing. Bit of a novice I am—used up my energy by running. Dad in the other hand—found some difficulty balancing, his’s body is not what it used to be. Nelson had to source a stick from a small tree nearby, had it cut and fit for Dad and we continued on., I find it amazing that even of a man of his age, Dad is still able to hike up with not much help. He’s catching up with us relatively well, He hasn’t done a trek quite like this for quite some time. We hit an area that somewhat resembles a forest, we’ve seemed to lost track of time, and oh dear it was already 3 pm! We need to get to the campsite quickly before dark. We’re making haste now, playing battle music and focusing on the track to the campsite. Mist is creeping in, I must say, the atmosphere is beginning to get creepy, and rains starting to pour, lucky us. We continue on our path, we’re following ribbons that were tied to plants—to serve as landmarks for us to follow since is frequently pours here, tracks erode quickly, especially with all the leaves falling all over the place, covering all the tracks. Kept on following these ribbons until we hit a wall, well... not a wall per se—just a steep climb up. The second Dad saw the ribbon was up there, he knew that it wasn’t good news. We’re all covered in mud, so what harm can this climb do, just must grab on a few branches, get a few slips on here and there, and get up and to the campsite. This is easier than expected, just underestimated how slippery it was, just must get a rope to help dad get up here. Success, just a hundred meters from this place is the campsite, minutes and well get there, no problem.
Made it to the campsite, our muscles aren’t sore, but If I just move a little more I just might trigger a cramp on my leg, at least Dad and I can rest, cook some soup, sleep through the night—and we did. Waking up with the knowledge that was just halfway there is just a hard to comprehend the idea. Dad’s up for the challenge filled us up with coffee and started trekking once again. Left most of the equipment at the tent, bags are lighter, what a relief. We hit the first the stage of the major hike, the transition between rock and soil, Dad’s a bit anxious about the rocks, seems a bit dangerous, one slip could get him into a tumble downhill. Best to go-slow and steady in places like these. Hours in trekking up, I think Dad"s gained back some confidence in his sense of balance, he’s even outpacing me. Better get my game up, or I’ll be made fun of. Up ahead are some scarily massive boulders, with small pockets of steam seeping through all around, not sure what we got ourselves into, but we’re up for a challenge. This is must be the most grueling two hours I’ve ever spent climbing, so many gaps, so many ledges, so many tall boulders. This can’t get any more difficult than this. This is a workout, and I can only imagine what the old man is thinking of right now. We’ve cleared the boulder stage, get some time to breathe. We’ve decided to rest in one of the abandoned campsites, the wind was howling, almost whispering to us to reach the peak. It just keeps on getting steeper and steeper, I could’ve sworn we were close! I thought we reached the top but nevermind, it’s the famous dead lake of Mt. Apo, A lake which inhabits no life whatsoever, peaceful and quiet. We decided to push on after a small dip in the lake. The Peak is near, and the wind is howling like never. We reached the top where the wind blows the strongest. We’ve made it—to the third highest peak. Looking at dad, I see a man who’s pushed the limit, He could go further but has no will to do so. He said “I’ll be here, I’ve done what I can do, you can go further and reach the peak”, he seems content on waiting, seems like he’s done what he could do, I obliged to the hike to the highest point. Walking without a dad was unusual, at the very moment we began, I felt I lost or something, but also gained something. A bizarre feeling that I’ve felt before, just more amplified. As Nelson, bought me to the peak, it was weird being there without a dad. I’ve made it, I feel accomplished, but there’s also a sense of emptiness. All that work, all the effort, going through all that just to be repaid with a sense of peace, a view, and fresh air. Time to go back down and meet with dad and go back home. I think there’s rendang mom prepared, can’t wait.

TRIVIA
Trivia 1 – Apo Wang-Od’s real name is Apo Fangod. Contrary to popular belief, she can actually write. Her original signature was her full name and not just three dots.
Trivia 2 – Apo Fangod (Wang Od) was once branded as the “The Last Living Mambabatok” because no one from the generation after her studied the art. That is no longer applicable now as a lot of youngsters in Butbut Tribe have already acquired the skills and talent in hand-tap tattooing.
Trivia 3 – Before their promotion, not everyone who visited the tribe and asked to be tattooed got one. Their ink is sacred. In fact, they once had a ceremonial tradition where they need to kill a chicken before tattooing. The color of the liver of the killed chicken will determine if you deserve to be inked or not, and only Apo Fangod has a say on the design. It’s a different story now. All you have to do is pay, choose the design you want to be imprinted on your body, and that’s it. This is the reason why I did not bother to get inked. I personally think the “batok” has already lost its relevance.
TRAVEL TIPS
No ATM in the area.
No restaurants in Buscalan. Bring your own baon/food. You may also use cooking facilities in the homestay.
Tattooing schedule is on a first-come-first-served basis.
Taking a bath is prohibited after the tattoo session so it is best to take a bath first before getting inked.

Too often honeymoon planning takes a backseat to wedding plans. After all, friends and family will be at the wedding, but no one will “see” your honeymoon, right?
