Really wish PR could have more episodes because theres no doubt in my mind that Ninja Storm would’ve introduced a bunch of other elements and techniques. Like imagine Tori doing blood-bending, Dustin using Metalbending or Shane causing things to wither away with Rust, unsure about the Bradley’s with Thunder and Lightning atm
Honestly if you guys want I’m willing to make an elemental chart👀

I thought about the Pokemon Sun Pokedex entry for Magneton, because it's one of my favorite dex entries and how a few times, I thought about it with HMS because - you know. Three of them. Although the general idea of drawing them as Magnemite and Whole as a Magneton was also funny so uh. Here.
This is the entry by the way:
Why does Whole suddenly become a shiny Magneton when they all evolve?
When Harmonia shines or something--
#Tori's Doodles of Mellarky#Chonny Jash#CCCC#Pokemon#Magnemite#Magneton#I swear to God I'll draw more serious stuff eventually but I love doodling silly things like this#I'm lying about the reason why Whole's a shiny Magneton btw#It's actually because I thought the magnet ends were black and white but. They weren't.#I was going too far with the bit though so. I didn't think of 'Harmonia shines' until I was typing this#Also in all seriousness I think if Mind were a Pokemon trainer he'd have a Magnezone#I was reading other dex entries and it matches at least some theming or at least themeing i see with Mind#Primarily the ones about storms. Pretty neat#Also it was surprisingly hard to draw this many circles#Do you think Mind would prefer psychic types electric types or steel types#Oh no now I'm thinking of a Pokemon AU again

Okay I was going to bed but I think I realized what really entertains me about the "cursed chosens" and it's kinda funny to think about considering so far they've been kids-
It's like the old stories and folk tales people would use to scare their kids about children being stolen away/punished for bad behavior.
And tbh I think it's neat :]
#tori talks#blog talk: clockwork soul heart#granted theres something different going on than a child being ounished with Steele but. thats a whole can of worms lol

let's fulfill the prophecy (part 6) | Axel Kovačević x Fem! Reader
Summary: It's the moment of truth, it's time to face your biggest opponent and set things straight once and for all. For you and your team.
Word Count: 4.2k Warnings: None, fluff, violence (fighting), happy ending
Pt. 5 | Masterlist
not my gif
Sensei Lawerence takes you and Miguel back to the old dojo where Cobra Kai was reborn back in 2018. Back where you first started learning a different kind of offense than what your dad taught you.
Mr. LaRusso joins in on the training a long with the rest of Miyagi-Do, helping you and Miguel prep for tomorrow's final events.
You're focused, determined to win. Win against Zara, Silver, Wolf, for you, your friends, and family. This wasn't just about revenge anymore.
And while you still weren't sure why Axel felt the need to do what he did, you'd fight for him too.
You tied your tennis shoes up, getting ready to head out for the evening to rest up for tomorrow, when Tory and Sam approach you.
"You doing okay?" Sam asks hovering over you.
"Of course," you respond, moving to stand up on your feet.
Tory glances over at Sam, both sharing a look of worry.
"You're fighting better than you ever have before," Tory says flatly. "But we can see you're struggling. And we both know why."
You sigh, glancing between her and Sam. "I'm fine."
Sam raises an eyebrow. "You're not fine. You're worried about him."
You glance down at your feet ashamed they were able to catch on to what you had been thinking about since the moment you woke up this morning.
"I get it," Tory says catching your attention. "I've been there before. Under Silver’s thumb. It messes with you. Makes you believe things you normally wouldn’t."
Her eyebrows are drawn in together as she clears her throat, remembering her time she spent with Silver, Kreese, and sensei Kim.
"But Silver has a way of making you think you're making your own choices when you're really just following his orders," she explains. "It wasn't until Robby and Sam helped me see I wasn't alone."
You stare at her, taking in her words, but the doubt still lingers. You want to believe Axel had a choice. That he could have walked away, that he wouldn’t have hurt Robby unless he truly wanted to.
But if what Tory is saying is true… maybe he never had that chance. You swallow hard, staring down at your hands. "So what do I do?"
Tory and Sam exchange a glance before Sam speaks.
"Right now? You focus on tomorrow. You fight for what’s right. And when the time comes… you help Axel see he still has a choice."
--------------------------------------------------------
The energy in the air crackles with anticipation, the arena buzzing as the final matches draw closer. You should be focusing, mentally preparing for your own fight, but your eyes keep searching for one person.
You're lingering outside of the locker rooms, when Axel walks from around the corner, fists clenching and unclenching at his sides. He's struggling internally.
Your heart twists, knowing he was at war with himself. Taking a steady breath, you approach him. "Axel."
His head lifts at the sound of your voice, eyes flickering with something unreadable before settling into guarded steel.
"You shouldn’t be here," he mutters, glancing around the hallway as if someone might catch you two together.
"That's not up to you, I needed to see you," you frown.
A sharp exhale leaves him as you step closer. You can tell he wants to keep his distance, but his body betrays him, instinctively leaning toward you.
"You okay?" you ask softly.
He doesn’t answer right away. Instead, he stares at the floor, his breathing measured, too controlled. Then, finally, he shakes his head. "No."
The honesty stuns you for a second, but you don’t waver. "Tell me what's going on, maybe I can help."
He remains silent, struggling to form everything he wants to say into words. But he can't. Not with Silver and Wolf still around.
You hear the announcement that the tournament will begin shortly making you sigh.
"Whatever it is, you can still make the right choice, Axel," you remind him gently.
His head snaps up, his blue orbs locking onto yours. You don’t know what Silver and Wolf have told him, what they’ve demanded from him, but you do know Axel.
You know the boy who always looked out for you, who wants to be apart of your life, who had a heart buried beneath all his walls.
Taking a step back, you turn on your heel, leaving him to ponder your words. When you've stepped inside the gymnasium, you find your team where they're assigned to and head over to them.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please find your seats!"
As you approach Miguel, you see him and Sam canoodling beside the mat.
"Is that what it takes to win?" You tease your friends as they pulled away from their kiss.
"Maybe," Miguel suppresses a grin holding on to Sam by her waist. "She just told me about Okinawa."
"Oh," you nod forcing on a smile. "Right."
"You're going to Okinawa, Y/n," Sam reassures you. "Even if I have to sneak you in my suitcase."
You laugh, rolling your eyes at her comment. As she gives you a hug of good luck, she makes her way to sit with her parents, Tory, and Robby on the side.
"Alright guys, this is it," Johnny voices as you and Miguel gather next him. "Just focus on what you need to do out there and nothing else. Both of you."
You both nod in agreement.
"Don't worry about overall points," he advises you. "Just win your fight. Okay?"
"No," Miguel disagrees immediately. "Sorry sensei, but there's no way in hell we're letting Silver buy himself another title."
You nod in agreement. "He's right, we can close the gap."
Johnny looks relieved and proud at what you both want to accomplish. "Badass."
The same rules are applied for the finals, it's two minutes, three rounds, with unlimited scoring. Knockdowns are worth ten points, and if a downed fighter cannot reengage within ten seconds, it will be considered a knockout and worth twenty points.
Which is what you planned to do with Zara.
"And now the match to determine our world male champion, please come to the mat, Miguel Diaz of Cobra Kai."
Miguel steps up on to the mat, you clapping shouting for your co-captain.
"And Axel Kovačević of the Iron Dragons."
You see Wolf hovering over Axel, whispering over things you can't imagine. When he steps up on the stage, you feel that knot in your stomach, hoping this could be a fair fight.
You hoped he could hang on to your words.
"Good luck to both of you," Gunther wishes before moving off the mat so the red could take over.
When the ref brings his hands down to start the fight, you're squeezing your own hands tied behind your back watching with weariness.
The moment Miguel scores, you're elated. And then he does it again, and again. He's up five points and Axel is at 0.
When the horn blares, you and Johnny are cheering, waiting for your teammate to come back to you.
"Great job!" You encourage Miguel, all of you getting him with a fist bump.
You know Axel's frustrated, it's evident all over his face. And when Silver walks away in annoyance, it only has you relieved.
The boys are called back for the second round, but this time it's harder to watch.
Axel has flipped his switch, and while not violating any rules, his strikes and kicks are packed with a punch, sending Miguel to the ground when the horn is rung for the end of round 2.
Your eyes are wide as you watch Axel come to a stop in front of Miguel who held his hands up for mercy. The breath you had been holding is let go when Axel walks in the opposite direction, leaving your co-captain to stand up and go back to you guys.
As Johnny talked sense into his step-son, you kept an eye on Axel as Silver and Wolf surrounded him with threats you could only assume.
When sensei Lawerence ties his headband over Miguels head, you hear his grandma shout, "kick his ass, Miggy!" in Spanish making you laugh and clap.
"You can do this, Miguel!" You shout as he walks back on to the mat with his opponent.
The next two minutes are heart stopping as you watch your teammate begin to come back, point by point, reflecting on his past, and gaining momentum.
"He leaves himself open for the roundhouse when he pivots. If targeted correctly, it can be broken," Wolf's instructions were clear as Silver shouted for Axel to do what was asked of him.
Across the mat, past the chaos of the arena, his eyes find you. You're standing frozen, hands clenched at your sides, your face stricken with worry, fear, pleading.
Not for Miguel. Not for the fight.
For him.
Your words echo in his head, cutting through the noise, through the orders, through the fear.
"You can still make the right choice."
The moment stretches unbearably long, and then, with a sharp inhale, Axel makes his decision.
He breaks eye contact with you, turning to his right to do a sweep, allowing Miguel to complete his move and earn a point with his roundhouse.
You and Johnny are now reaching for each other as you watch Miguel score again and again, when he's tied with Axel, you're both holding your breath.
The horn blares as Miguel kicks Axel across the face, sending him to the ground, earning a total of 25 points making him the winner.
"Knockdown. Winner!"
You and sensei Lawerence run up on to the mat, enveloping your co-captain into a bear hug.
"You did it, Miguel!" You're smiling from ear to ear. He pulls back away from you, still holding you close.
"Now it's your turn."
You nod, a smirk tugging at your lips. Everyone takes their turn congratulating Miguel.
"Congratulations to our new Sekai Taikai boys' champion, Miguel Diaz!"
The crowd is cheering for Miguel who has made his way to the front, raising his fist up. Glancing to your left, you see Axel in a spat exchange with sensei Wolf, making you nervous.
As Axel began to walk away, Wolf reaches out for him, but he shrugs him off sending him one last glare, before walking away.
He walked away. Was this it for him?
"We'll take a short intermission before our final event, the girls' championship," Gunther announced.
---------------------------------------------------------
Axel finishes wiping the blood off from under his nose, tossing the tissue in the trash. He's just stood up to Wolf, the man that's practically raised him since he could walk.
He doesn’t know what comes next. All he knows is that he’s done. Done being their puppet. Done being afraid.
The door suddenly creaks open, and Axel stiffens, catching Robby’s reflection in the mirror. For a moment, neither of them says anything. Robby just stands there, leaning into his crutches.
The tension is thick, nearly suffocating. Axel grips the counter, staring at his own exhausted reflection before exhaling sharply. He hesitates, forcing himself to turn and face him. "I'm sorry."
"For what?" Robby's voice is even, but there’s an edge to it.
Axel swallows. "For all of it." He pauses. "I didn’t want to do it."
"Right. But you did it anyway," Robby scoffs, shaking his head.
Axel clenches his fists, willing himself to stay calm. He deserves this. Every bit of it. "I didn’t have a choice."
Robby lets out a bitter laugh. "There’s always a choice, man."
Axel flinches. Those are her words. He lets out a shaky breath before speaking again, this time quieter.
"They threatened Y/n."
Robby freezes at the mention of your name.
"They told me if I didn’t do it, they’d hurt her." Axel's voice is raw, his hands tightening around the counters edge. "So I made the wrong choice. I hate myself for it. But if it meant keeping her safe, I—" He shakes his head, looking down. "I didn't know what else to do."
Robby exhales slowly, his features softening just slightly. He knows that feeling. The panic. The helplessness. The way fear warps your judgment until you can’t tell right from wrong anymore.
He remembers standing over Miguel at the school fight, the rage and confusion clouding his mind before he kicked him over the railing. He remembers the regret. The way it nearly consumed him.
And looking at Axel now, he sees the same thing.
"Does Y/n know about this?" Robby asks quietly. Axel shakes his head, turning to face him.
"No," he responds. "I'm not sure she'll forgive me."
"Not so long as you're with them," Robby says referring to the Iron Dragons team.
Axel nods, slipping the white captain's headband off. "I'm done with them. With all of it."
Robby studies him for a moment before nodding, leaning against the counter.
"You should tell her," Robby says, voice firm but not unkind. "I know what it’s like to screw up. To think you’ve lost everyone because of one bad decision. But if she means that much to you, she deserves to know the truth."
Axel looks down, his chest tightening.
"And for what it’s worth, I get it," Robby finishes. There's a beat of silence before the injured boy opens the door, standing with it open.
"She's gonna want you there... you coming or not?"
Pushing himself off the counter, Axel makes his way over to the exit of the bathroom.
---------------------------------------------------------
"And now, our final match of this year's Sekai Taikai! Representing the Iron Dragons, Zara Malik! And representing Cobra Kai, Y/n L/n! Would the fighters please come to the mat."
You walked to stand in the middle of the mat, waiting for you match to begin, but your eyes can't help but wonder around the arena searching for him.
"If he comes back, it's not for you," you hear that same irritating voice.
Rolling your eyes, you cross you hands behind your back, sticking your nose up at the snarky girl in front of you. You wouldn't give her the satisfaction.
Zara tilts her head, her smirk widening as she steps closer to you.
"You act so confident, like you're untouchable," she says her, voice dropping just enough to sound almost pitying. "But deep down, you know you'll never come first."
Your eyes drop to meet her insincere look of remorse.
"Because when it comes down to it, when he has to choose between you and the Iron Dragons, you really think he’s choosing you?"
A snarl is forming on your lips as you move close to her when the horn blares off bringing you back to your event.
"Fighters, face me," the ref instructs. "Bow. Each other, bow."
When you've given the bow of respect, you jump into stance, ready to go.
"Fighting stances, ready? Fight!"
The moment the referee signals the start of the match, you barely have time to blink before Zara charges. You pivot just in time to block her first strike, her fist colliding hard against your forearm.
She’s fast, faster than you expected, but you refuse to let that shake you. You’ve trained for this. You belong here.
Zara feints left before sweeping her leg toward your ribs. You twist out of the way, retaliating with a sharp front kick to her chest: Point!
The scoreboard flashes 1-0, and a surge of confidence rushes through you. But it doesn’t last. Zara recovers quickly, her expression unreadable as she resets her stance.
She’s calculating, waiting for an opening, and the second she finds it, she exploits it. She steps in, ducking beneath your guard before landing a brutal spinning kick to your side.
You grunt as pain ripples through you: point Zara.
The scoreboard shifts to 1-1.
The match continues at a relentless pace, every strike faster and sharper than the last. You score again with a well-placed counterpunch: 2-1
But Zara doesn’t hesitate to answer back with a high kick to your head: 2-2. You exhale, rolling your shoulders as you reset. Focus.
Zara smirks. "Is that all you got?"
You grit your teeth, forcing yourself to stay calm. The next exchange happens in a blur. You manage to catch Zara off guard, sweeping her leg out from under her before striking her shoulder as she stumbles: 3-2.
But she isn’t rattled. She adjusts quickly, and before you can capitalize, she surges forward with a powerful combination, punch to your ribs, knee to your stomach, and a final backfist to your jaw: 3-5, Zara.
The buzzer sounds, signaling the end of round one.
You step back, chest rising and falling as you shake out your arms. Zara straightens, barely looking winded as she tosses you a smug look.
Muttering under your breath, you turn to walk away from the middle.
"Shake it off, shake it off," Johnny is walking alongside you. "You got three points."
"She's still up by two," you huff as you two make your way down the steps.
"That's nothing, you're giving her a run for her money," Johnny points out. "She's scared because her flashy shit isn't working anymore."
You're not completely convinced by your sensei's words as Zara's name is being chanted throughout the arena, your own hometown was cheering for her.
"Dad," Robby approaches sensei Lawerence, Axel trailing behind him making you furrow your eyebrows. "Could you give us a second?"
Sensei Lawerence is just as confused as you when he see's Axel and his son together, Robby sending him a reassuring look. Johnny walks off but not without glaring in Axel's direction making the boy look down ashamed.
"What are you doing over here?" You ask glancing over your shoulder, seeing Silver and Wolf already looking over in your direction.
"He's with us," Robby says lightly. "He told me why he did what he did. I would have done the same thing if Silver threatened to hurt Tory."
Robby see's the confusion on your face. "Just hear him out. It's okay."
When he goes to hobble away on his crutches, your gaze flickers to Axel. He looks like he barely knows where to start.
"Silver and Wolf… they told me if I didn’t do what they asked, they’d hurt you instead," he explains lightly, hands clenching at his sides. "I couldn’t let that happen."
Your mind is racing as you finally recognize the boy in front of you. Every angry, heartbroken thought you’ve held onto over the past few days suddenly tangles into something messier, something heavier.
Axel takes a deep breath, moving closer to you as if he's afraid you'd walk way at any moment.
"I know it doesn’t change what I did," he stammers out. "I just— I love you."
Your heart lurches.
He’s never said it before. And yet, somehow, you already knew. Before you can think, before you can even process the weight of everything, you move.
"I love you too," you say without hesitation, your hands fist his gi as you crash your lips against his, every emotion spilling into the kiss. The ache, the anger, the relief, all of it.
He kisses you back immediately, hands moving to pull at your waist towards him. The crowd erupts in cheers, some confused, some excited, but the noise barely registers.
But Silver and Wolf, they notice. Their expressions darken, their carefully crafted plan unraveling before their eyes. They have officially lost Axel Kovačević. To you.
You pull away just enough to rest your forehead against Axel’s, your breaths mingling.
"You mean it?" you whisper.
Axel chuckles against your lips, leaning his forehead against yours as the camera flash from beside you.
The boy nods, eyes locked onto yours. "Absolutely."
The horn suddenly blares, signaling for the next round.
"Now go win this whole fucking thing," Axel states sending a surge of fire through you.
You nod, turning to walk back up the steps, facing your opponent once again. For the last time.
Rolling your shoulders back, you take a deep breath, and channel everything you're feeling.
As you move through your kata, Zara gives you a look of confusion before the ref calls for fighting stances.
"Fight!"
She throws a sharp jab aimed for your ribs, but you deflect it, pivoting around her with precision. Your hand grips her gi before she can react, and with a swift motion, you hook her leg and sweep her off her feet, sending her crashing onto the mat.
"Takedown, ten points!"
The arena roars, but you don’t hesitate. The second Zara scrambles to her feet, frustration flashing across her face, you duck under her incoming punch, shifting your weight before flipping her over your shoulder in a Ippon Seoi Nage.
Second takedown. "Takedown, ten points!"
She slams into the mat harder this time, a grunt of pain escaping her. You hear Silver shouting from the sidelines, his anger barely contained.
Zara shakes her head as she gets up, her eyes blazing, but you can see the doubt creeping in.
You adjust your stance, smirking. Zara growls, charging at you. She throws a high kick, but you sidestep, your reflexes razor-sharp.
Before she can recover, you hook your leg around hers and slam her down in a leg sweep takedown.
"Takedown, ten points!"
The crowd erupts. Johnny and Daniel cheer from the sidelines, Miguel pumping his fist in the air. Axel is standing alongside them, arms crossed as he watches you.
Zara stumbles back to her feet, her breath ragged, but her anger is blinding her now. She lunges recklessly, desperate for a hit.
She’s exactly where you want her.
She throws a spinning back kick, you see it coming from a mile away. You lean back just enough to dodge, then snap forward with a fast flying tornado, your heel connecting squarely with her jaw.
The impact sends her flying to the ground. Zara hits the mat with a brutal thud, and she doesn’t get up.
Silence blankets the arena for a beat.
"Knockout! Winner!"
The arena explodes into a chaos of cheers and screams as your team runs up to you, Miguel and sensei Lawerence pulling you into a hug.
You can't help the tears that have began to fall as everyone you know and love envelops you into a hug, each wishing you a congratulations.
Axel is the last one to approach you, before you can even say anything, he scoops you up effortlessly, lifting you off the ground and spinning you around.
A surprised laugh bubbles from your lips as you cling onto him, feeling the warmth of his embrace, the steadiness of his hold.
"I knew you could do it, ljubavi," he murmurs into your ear. You grin embracing him as he set you down.
"Congratulations to our new Sekai Taikai girls' champion... Y/n L/n!"
When Axel steps back to give you your spotlight, you face the cheering crowd that was chanting your name, giving them the bow of respect.
"What an absolutely thrilling conclusion, please join me in congratulating our girls' and boys' champions... Y/n L/n and Miguel Diaz of Cobra Kai!"
You're handed your new trophy, you and Miguel raising them to show the crowd your team's victory.
"This leads us to only to declare our overall dojo champion... Ladies and gentlemen, may I present the grand trophy to the winners of the Sekai Taikai. Now officially the world's number one dojo, Cobra Kai!"
--------------------------------------------------------
The salty breeze rolls in from the ocean, warm against your skin as you walk through the quiet streets of Okinawa.
The city has become familiar to you in the months since you arrived, its rhythm, its sounds, its serenity. Winning the Sekai Taikai had changed everything. The sponsorships, the recognition, the chance to study and train in Japan
It was more than you had ever imagined for yourself. And your best friend.
As you make your way to the original Miyagi-Do, a small dojo nestled in the hills just outside the city, where you often train in the afternoons, after your classes.
Your eyebrows furrow as you notice the dojo doors are slightly open, the soft sound of movement coming from inside. Maybe it was Sam.
Pulling the doors open, you step inside, a tall figure taking you by surprise.
Axel stands in the middle of the dojo in his red t-shirt that you tried to steal the last time he was here, with his hands intertwined behind his back.
"Hey, ljubavi," he greets, his smirk small but unmistakable.
"How'd you know I'd be here?" You grin resting your hands on your hips, tilting your head to the side. He takes a few steps forward.
"A little birdie told me," he teases you.
"Would that little birdie happen to be Sam?" You chuckle as he stands a whole foot over you, eyes never leaving yours.
Axel hums, shrugging a shoulder. "Maybe."
You can't help but throw yourself into his arms, Axel lets out a breath of surprise but catches you easily, his arms wrapping tightly around your waist as he lifts you off the ground.
You bury your face into his shoulder, inhaling the familiar scent of him, of home.
"I missed you," you murmur against his skin.
Axel presses a kiss to your temple, holding you just as tightly. "I missed you more."
He finally sets you down, but his hands linger on your waist, thumbs brushing over your skin in a way that sends butterflies flooding through you.
"So miss champion," Axel tilts his head, smirking down at you. "We going to stand here and make out or are we going to do some kumite?"
You raise a brow, a slow grin spreading across your lips. "And here I thought you'd be too tired from the flight over here"
Axel leans in slightly, voice dropping into something more playful.
"Someone needs to make sure you’re still keeping up."
You scoff, stepping back as you slip into a ready stance. "As you wish, Sensei."
His smirk falters for half a second, a flicker of something warm flashing in his eyes before he mirrors your stance. "Ready?"
You laugh, heart racing with excitement as the two of you circle each other, the salt air rifting through the open doors.
"Ready."
This, right here, was everything you had dreamed of.

Fearless 2
PART 1
It doesn't surprise you that Beatrice and Christina jump holding hands, it was clear they would be friends. Maybe that would help, if she had others her own age to model her behavior off of. As they tumbled and skid to a stop you heard the dark haired girl laughing, smiling to yourself remembering your first time.
You and Four had held hands, being the only two 'gentle' transfers. Eric had made fun of both of you, only to tear up himself as his knees ripped open under the gravel. Four who then was Tobias had picked the gravel out of your cheek as you both laughed. Your friendship bloomed from there, too this day he was the only other person besides Tori you trusted 100%.
Christina will fit in with Dauntless thrill seekers, such as yourself. You're pulled from your thoughts by a scream, Rita standing on the ledge crying and screaming looking down. You knew without looking that her little sister hadn't made it, it broke your heart. You were thankful when Theo stepped up to hold her back from falling herself.
You looked away from the transfers and looked up to the sky, willing the tears to go away before anyone sees them. You can hear Theo trying to calm her down as others walked over looking over the ledge. You hoped that the transfers realize now, that not even Dauntless born are safe now.
Closing your eyes briefly you open them the second you hear that annoying guys voice again. "Ooh. Scandalous! A Stiff's flashing some skin!" Your eyes land on Beatrice who has her sleeve pulled up, you can tell this one is going to cause problems too. Noting in your head to watch him and to alert Four. Just as you go to tell him where to shove his mouth Max speaks, pulling everyone attention besides your own. You keep your eyes on the Stiff, as if you can will her to listen too you.
"Listen up! My name is Max! I am one of the leaders of your new faction! Several stories below us is the members' entrance to our compound. If you can't muster the will to jump off, you don't belong here. Our initiates have the privilege of going first."
"You want us to jump off a ledge?" asks an Erudite girl, her mouth hanging open. As a trainer your already taking notes as to who you think the weaker ones will be. Rolling your eyes and crossing your arms as you turn to look at Max, who's smiling at you clearly amused not only by the girl but by your reaction.
Max always told you that you should've been born into Dauntless, he never understood how you were Amity. "Yes," Max says clearly holding in his laughter.
"Is there water at the bottom or something?"
"Who knows?" He raises his eyebrows and waving over the ledge, you remember your own group again. You were the first jumper, having to literally pry your hand out of Tobias's who was the last jumper. The blood is pumping in your ears as the group parts waiting to see who has the balls to go first.
You clench your jaw when she finally steps forward making her way to the ledge thankfully not looking at you as she passes. You can hear the Dauntless around you start to whisper and turn the look on your face shutting them up quickly. When she steps up you can see the doubt on her face, the fear clear as she pulls her over dress off.
But the defiance steps in as she throws it directly at the annoying Candor boy. A chuckle breaks through the silence, it takes a second for you to realize it was yours. Steeling your face back up you watch as people start up again with the catcalls and laughter.
She doesn't yell after her foot leaves the ledge, she doesn't scream on her way down and you're slightly impressed. You also know that it could be the choking fear keeping her quiet like it did Four. Max even looks a little impressed, and as you thought Christina was the next to step up.
One by one each person jumps, some scream, some laugh but others mostly initiates stay silent in fear. They now know there has to be something at the bottom, but they still don't know what it is. Soon they are all gone, leaving only those of you who are top tier members.
"So Y/n, whats your first impression of the newbies?" Zeke asks, bringing everyone attention back to you. The one place where you really hate, is under everyone's scrutiny.
Uncrossing your arms and moving to lean against the ledge you pause acting like your thinking. Its of course fake, they all know that, they know you are quick to judge and your opinion is hard to change.
But its one of the reasons you make an excellent trainer, that and that your normally right. You can find their weaknesses within the first few encounters. That's why you're partnered with Four, who then will push those weaknesses until they break.
"Really I only have an opinion so far on four of them. The Stiff is either going to excel or completely fail, haven't decided yet. The short Candor girl will fit in here well once she learns to control her mouth. The tall Candor girl is fake. Shes gonna act tough, fight hard but she will ultimately fail. And last but not least that annoying ass Candor boy, I have a feeling Im going to have fun breaking him in. Hes pissed me off already and its only been an hour and a half since I met him."
Max nods taking notes as you speak, hes a very efficient leader. You don't always agree with him, but it's one of the reasons you get along. You're one of the few people here that gives him an honest opinion. That's also the reason hes training you to take over for him, of course Four was his first choice. But he turned it down so hey, his loss right?
Once you take over it wont matter. He will be your second whether he likes it or not, you'll kill Eric if you have too.
After a few more moments of conversation the rest start jumping, until it's just you and Max. He gives you a questioning look, but you shake your head indicating that you don't want to talk. He knows how much you hate running into your brother, hes assuming thats the reason for your mood. You let him run with his assumptions, leaving you alone on the roof for a moment.
You know you only have a moment, so you remind yourself of who you are. Just a moment to feel the weakness that having two more Divergents here brings. The crushing load of responsibility your promise to Tori lays on your shoulders.
You are brave.
You are fearless.
You are Dauntless.
And with that final sentence you stand back to the darkness, and fall. The ride to the net is too short, the adrenaline that runs through your veins fading too quickly. You hear those who know you chanting your name as you roll yourself off, scoffing at your best friend who's standing right there. He smirks a little knowing you're pretending to be offended that he didn't help you.
Once everyone leaves, besides you, Four and the initiates, the two of you lead them down a narrow tunnel. The tunnel is lit at long intervals, so in the dark space between each dim lamp. One that if you didn't know where you were going you could easily feel lost or disoriented.
When we stop I turn and watch as the Stiff runs into someones back, holding back the sigh that wants to escape badly. "This is where you divide,The Dauntless-born initiates are free to go to your dorm. I assume you don't need a tour of the place."
They break away from the group and dissolve into the shadows. You watch the last heel pass out of the light and look at those who are left. Most of the initiates were from Dauntless, so only nine people remain. Of those, only one Abnegation transfer, and there are no Amity transfers. The rest are from Erudite and, surprisingly, Candor.
You know Four likes to get the first word in, so you tuck your feminism away for the time being and wait for him. "Most of the time I work in the control room, but for the next few weeks, I am your instructor," he says. "My name is Four."
Christina asks, "Four? Like the number?" You somehow manage to hold in the chuckle that wants so badly to escape when you see his face. "Yes," Four says. "Is there a problem?"
"No."
"Good. We're about to go into the Pit, which you will someday learn to love. It—"
Christina snickers. "The Pit? Clever name."
Four walks up to Christina and leans his face close to hers. His eyes narrow, and for a second he just stares at her. "What's your name?" he asks quietly.
"Christina," she squeaks. "Well, Christina, if I wanted to put up with Candor smart-mouths, I would have joined their faction," he hisses. "The first lesson you will learn from me is to keep your mouth shut. Got that?"
She nods, and again your holding in your laughter. You cant wait to make fun of him for this later, cant wait to tell Tori about the bravely stupid girl. Four starts toward the shadow at the end of the tunnel. The crowd of initiates moves on in silence.
"What a jerk," she mumbles as she and Beatrice, now Tris, walk past you. "I guess he doesn't like to be laughed at," she replies and this time you do laugh. They both jumped, clearly forgetting you were still in the room. "He also doesn't like smart asses, He wont tolerate you talking behind his back either. So learn quickly or the next few weeks will be harder than they need to be." You say before jogging to catch up with Four, shoulder checking the kid you don't like on the way.
He opens his mouth and starts to speak "Watch where you're going Bitch!" The second his voice rang through the corridor Four stopped, but when the word Bitch left the pour guys mouth all Fours muscles tensed. He knew you could handle yourself, but he had a hard time tucking his chivalry away when it came to you. "Excuse me?" He says going to step forward but your hand on his chest stops him.
Your busy smiling at the dumb ass who just spoke, so you dont see Tris's eyes linger on your hand on Fours chest. "Whats your name dumb ass?" You say still smiling but cocking your head to the side condescendingly.
"Peter.." He says threw his teeth as some of the guys cover their laughter with coughs. You nod, and without thinking drag your hand down Fours arm, squeezing his hand to let him know you're ok. It's an innocent movement, none of them know what happens behind closed doors. You feel him relax a fraction as you let go and take steps towards the group.
"Im Y/n. I'm also one of your trainers, I am also one of Dauntless's leaders." You watch as Peters face pales, and chuckle bringing your hands up to effortlessly put your hair in a messy bun. "I will be taking over for Max when he retires, meaning I will be the one that chooses how your life here functions. And for me..." You draw on, turning back to start leading the group away noticing Fours eyes locked on Peter.
"First impressions are everything."
