sorry for the relative radio silence lately i have been seizing the opportunity of a long break from work (and @combat-epistemologist and @transbionic-shieldmaiden being out of town so i can temporarily take over the entire house with my stuff) to refloor my bedroom! i have made many House Discoveries of all kinds (good, bad, neutral, baffling) and hammered my own hand twice (SO FAR). this is an exhausting process; i don't think i'm cut out for the flooring contractor lifestyle.

update on the nethack situation: apparently the nethack wiki advises an AC of -25, and I went in with an AC of...-5, that would explain why minotaurs/winged gargoyles were having such a time with me

unfortunately, i have a magic lamp and a 0:0 wand of wishing with no scrolls of charging (they are known, but i used up my magic marker writing identify scrolls) to reverse amnesia from the mind flayer

so things i want to acquire + id: - scroll of genocide - scroll of enchant armor - wand of polymorph

things i need to acquire more of: - magic markers - blank scrolls - holy water

i've got a magic lamp and enough potions + holy water (and one (1) altar (and i had to kill a priest to get it)) so 80% chance i can just go ahead and spend a wish on a blessed magic marker to write charging, charge up my wand to get wishes, spend them on the 3 things, pray a bit for grayswandir (I have a silver saber I can practice with to get up to expert, I have the skill slots since I've only used them on longsword)

tempted to pick up some spells, probably restore ability (should be able to do with a robe + taking off metal armor) and cone of cold (hopefully special spell means i can cast in combat?)
